I run a very balanced wvw build that is viable (and I use it) in 300-400+ tpvp. Figure out a way to work quick breathing (Warhorn reduction and condi conversion) into your build and you’ll find some pretty good survivability regarding conditions. There are a multitude of good builds out there for WvW, sadly for pvp it is extremely limited and even then they are only slightly comprable. I build my warrior for tpvp like I do a roaming/support ele and find that it is quite good for this role (team support, survivability and offensive pressure). The warrior is by no means though a thief/engi style class with high amounts of burst and also the means of escapaing/surviving pressure easily. So yes, if you want to play your warrior with a ton of high dps in tpvp, you will get crushed.
So basicly: Don’t play a warrior in TPVP. Got it
More; don’t run super offensive dps builds and expect to do well like a thief/trap ranger/condi engi can do. They do be default however, have a much higher overall dps ability (i.e. look at pve, it’s quite obvious there), so by scaling back offensive capability, you can pick up the needed survivability and still provide some strong offensive pressure.
So basicly: Don’t play a warrior in TPVP. Got it

This numbers are a joke i actually used a clerics amulet and test it right when the patch become online and i was like… this is BS, now add to this that we now need to use adrenaline in order to clean conditions so much for the passive…

Not to mention rangers have evades all over the place and invulnerability that also soaks up even more damage… They also have more dodges and protection and much easier access to regeneration (without sacrificing 30 points and doing what we do below.)
We also have to carry around a banner all day to get that regen.. lol not viable.

I didn’t say I was the best, or I was unique. I stated it was possible to use sustain if you specc for it.
Yes, warriors can get their sustain if they sacrifice 30 into Defense, and 30 into Tactics.
All the other classes however, get some moderate sustain baseline, and can enhance that sustain by traiting.
This is somewhat opinion based, but maybe this can help clarify what the issue is…..

Healing meditations added to the insane survivalbility of the guardian give you the ability to stay on target, remove conditions, turn em into boons, support your allies and so on it goes, same goes with shout build. The spiritual weapons are the only not so well thought or kinda useless utility I see in the guardian.
Healing shouts add very little sustain and sacrifice your utility slots. Even with soldier’s shouts removing conditions don’t add for enough sustain. Again you need 30 points in the vit tree which for a warrior is worthless in every way. More hp adds nothing since we can’t heal it back or keep it from going down the toilet due to no protection or aegis or any real source of damage reduction.
Again sacrificing utilities to get crit. Yeah…this shows how broken the class is.
Well I can log my ranger and show you. WvW wise nothing can kill him, spvp wise his sustain is insane enough if property played and his damage is good enough even after the pet’s nerf.
@Skelemiere: Clearly you’re either trolling or you really have no idea what you’re talking about. Let’s put it this way, every other warrior are facing the problems, yet you aren’t. I fought a bunch of warriors today in spvp… None proven close to a challenge. If you aren’t encountering all these problems then share your build, show a video or something.

I didn’t particularly enjoy this video. You beat an inferior warrior who was clearly not prepped for 1v1 dominance like you were twice (she would have killed you twice in the first fight if you didn’t have stomp stunbreak or defy pain) and allowed her to vengeance three times. She sat and ate an 8k 100blades. She was not specced for defy pain which is one of the best 1v1 talents an offensive warrior can pack whereas yours procced at 25% and saved your life at the 1min35sec mark. In the second fight she had a guard on her as well.
Your sustain is nothing special, you were able to outheal the ele because she did terrible damage. On the other hand your damage is very high and she managed to sustain through it. She was obviously wearing cleric gear for drawn out fights due to how much the hp bar moved on your 5-6k eviscerates rather than expecting to find zerkers and need vitality. This meant it was easy for you to burst her down with a rather basic combo of shield stun, eviscerate and whirlwind. I’m surprised the fight lasted as long as it did, though that was probably because you made sloppy mistakes such as eviscerating through protection buffs which were due to expire in 2 seconds and popping bullrush while the ele had stability up from armour of earth.
I wouldn’t have bothered replying but the title ‘sustainable god’ annoyed me.

Here is the problem:
Even with 1500 healing power, you will still have 2/5 the healing a guardian/thief/elementalist/other classes can bring with 0 healing power.
Your logic is flawed because we are in such a bad state right now its not even funny. The changes to adrenal health don’t even make sense anymore because now we are constantly at 0 or full adrenaline so it has a chance to heal for kitten, its no longer HPS. Based off that we actually heal for less then we do before if we go tanky.

That healway guardian build in the video is cleric’s gear + defensive/support traits. Put a warrior in those fights with cleric’s gear and 0/0/20/30/20 and you’d do just as fine. Or are you seriously suggesting that guardian dps > warrior dps when both have no damage increasing traits and wearing the same gear?
Edit: That guardian also wouldn’t have beat the elementalist in the OP’s video or anything else with sufficient defensive capabilities.

Listen to me well, this is how to fix the Warrior Class, these will be ridiculous because that is pretty much what we need to counter the complete fail we have as a class. We currently take much more damage then every other class due to the fact we have no get out of jail free cards, no stealth, poor condition removal, vulnerability to conditions, no cheesy evades, no free blocks, and last but not least, no protection or damage reduction.
Lets start by looking at our heals.
Healing Surge (Cooldown: 30)
Gain protection and adrenaline. Cures burning, poison, torment, and bleeding.
Healing: 9,820 (1.50)?
Protection: 4 s
Adrenaline: 30
Lets look at our traits.
Defense Tree
- Remove Thick Skin.
Replace with: Blind Rage. When blinded, cure blinds and become immune to blinds for 4 seconds, gain 4 seconds of quickness. (Cooldown: 15)
- Cull the Weak: Weakness you apply last 50% longer. Increases damage to weakened foes by 5%.
- Sure Footed: Increases Stance Duration by 25%. Reduces cooldown of stance skills by 20%. When a stance ends gain 5 seconds of protection.
- Spiked Armor: Gain 5 seconds of Protection and Retaliation when struck with a hit that takes more then 10% of your life. (Cooldown: 10)
- Adrenal Health: Gain health when you gain a strike of adrenaline. Gain health based on Adrenaline levels. (Instead, you get more healing when its lower, not higher.)
(At level 80, the amount healed per strike is 69 + 0.1 * Healing Power.)
(Currently it goes against the idea of “Holding your Adrenaline.”)
Tactics Tree
- Remove Determined Revival:
Replace with: Determination: Increases all healing the warrior receives by 15%.
- Remove Fast Healer:
Replace with: Death Watch: Increases revive speed by 15%, healing skills reset while reviving. (Cooldown: 60s)
- Remove Reviver’s Might:
Replace with: Fierce Commander: Utility skills heal the warrior for double. In addition, your allies gain might for 15 seconds every 3 seconds, as long as you are holding a banner.
That is all i’m touching, I feel this would give us the sustain and healing traits we need to survive in SPvP, each one is calculated against what other classes receive for traits and I believe that they are fair.

With 1500 Healing Power you can have 500 Heal per second with max adrenal bars which is more than a Ranger has.
While you do have 5 seconds more on your main heal then us, You will have a comparable heal of about 10k (I got to around 9.8k in SPvP with 1200 Healing Power or so) so its about Comparable to Trolls
Your biggest problem though will be lack of Protection.
We don’t have constant adrenal bars anymore.
Rangers have CONSTANT evades and CONSTANT protection, so they take a lot less damage, they also can be at ranged as well a lot so they can avoid the bruising.
You can’t compare the classes because they are just different. Warriors should heal more because they take a lot more damage.

Adrenal Health now doesn’t really work with the new cleansing Ire… now that we are constantly fighting between full and no adrenaline it barely heals for what it used to.
Healing Signet never got its passive buffed. Probably should double or even triple it. Or just make it a utility skill, remove the active heal and replace with some protection or a stun break or something…
Cleansing Ire only works after you need it. I need that confusion, torment, immobilize, cripple, chill, blind off before I use my burst…
Mending has to long of a cool-down. Lower it to 15-20 seconds, or 20 and make it a physical skill to make the trait more attractive.
Healing Surge is counter-productive, unlike any other heal in the game. It should simply heal for a lot and give 30 adrenaline and maybe cure burning/bleeding/poison… Just make it our version of hide in shadows with healing atleast 50% of our base health.
Add a trait that gives us health when we gain strikes of adrenaline? Hey that could be the new Adrenal Health!
