Warrior is apparently unstoppable in PvE/WvWvW even though our traits got nerfed to the ground, we only do about 5-8% more damage then other classes now but because everyone still is in the mindset of (warriors are gods in pve!) we will never get fixed.

Compared to Guardians though, warriors are total trash in all apartments, there is nothing a warrior can do in pve/wvwvw/spvp/tpvp a guardian can’t do better, and guess what? They are getting more buffs, they literally talked about guardian twice as much as warrior and do you want to know there solution to fixing the warrior? More health…. They really don’t play the warrior and have literally no idea why its terrible.

If you don’t know how to play a thief or know how to fight one, I suggest you play one because it is much harder then it sounds.

These are some of the best ideas i’ve ever seen on the forums.

However, Healing Signet should be 300 per strike, Signet of Malice is 130 base with no penalty and procs off any damage, this should be double that due to having penalties.

Or just be 160 healing per damaging attack.


Also, the mace’s ‘3’ chain should have a built-in block.


Also with Healing Signet, please do not simply just lower its duration, if you want a 15 second heal make mending or surge be it, but healing signet is meant for its passive.

Don’t want to be mean, however since your condi you would just be holding back most necromancers by making them go over the cap, I would not group with you in dungeons because you would be lowering my dps. (speaking as a necro.)

Necromancers can apply more bleeds and more types of conditions all at a safe distance (Aka they don’t need to be in melee at all, I can do it all at 900-1200 range.)

If a warrior ran into the group, it would overdo the necromancers conditions and he would have a hard time, also the fact that you would be out doing each others dps.

I will try to be respectful since you seem to be someone important.

The warrior class in the current meta is trash, your post does nothing but whine about whining, you offer no constructive comments about the class and your pretty much just telling us all to L2P.

Your attitude about it seems immature, almost as if you dislike us for it, however I am sorry we did not master the secret of the class like you did and struggle in pvp.

In SPvP I main a necromancer (I played it way before these buffs.), even before the update to my conditions, the warrior was a trash class in spvp, in fact most of the time all they did was help me spread my conditions around using epidemic and destroyed their own team because they could not remove their conditions fast enough.

Even though you run tournament play, I really don’t feel that you’ve grasped the entire reason why the warrior is so bad and I urge you to look at other classes and then retype what you said.

Why its a good trait.

Lets just say the trait heals for 75 per strike.

Base burst is 10 seconds, that means at most I could get is 2250. Even if I get more strike gain, it doesn’t change the fact I can only get 2250 every 10 seconds.

Now for cleansing ire, lets say you do get that and boon duration. Now you risk it being removed or stolen (the worst.) Or boon hate traits working against you.

You also would need to be 0/0/30/30/0 build… which would mean you wouldn’t be doing any kind of punishing damage.

Thick Skin – Stays as minor trait:
Gain 1 second of stability and 2 seconds of blind Immunity when you use a burst skill.

Cleansing Ire – Moved to Grandmaster:
Gain adrenaline when hit. Remove a condition for every bar of adrenaline spent. Each condition removed this way gives you 3 seconds of protection and 2 seconds of regeneration.

I don’t like these.

They make bursting too powerful. Remove the full 3 conditions and you get 9 seconds of Protection, which is affected by Boon Duration.

And what’s with the Stability? Why is it there?

Adrenal Health – Changed slightly:
Gain health when you gain a strike of adrenaline. (This means it would mesh a lot better with the current traits without completely changing what it does. Currently since the warrior in the defensive line never holds his adrenaline, we never gains full benefit from it anymore like we used to, I feel that the “Healing on Stage” effect should be moved and merged to Berserker’s Power or Heightened Focus.)

This would never work because of the high variability of strikes. At base, it’s 1 strike per hit. However, with Furious, it’s 3 strikes on crit. Throw in Sharpened Axes and it’s 4 strikes on crit.

It’s literally impossible to balance it so that it’s:

  1. Not overpowered with high adrenaline gain
  2. Not too weak without adrenaline gaining traits

Not to mention that it would benefit Axe/X and especially Axe/Axe a bit too much either way.

Actually I will devalue that.

It is actually 2 strikes extra, not three. It has been bugged for quite awile and its balanced because you can only get so many strikes every 10 seconds.

It doesn’t matter if I gain it 10x quicker if Im in a situation where I will always get it fast regardless of traits it won’t make a difference.

You might as well say the trait has a base 10 second GCD of how much it can heal for.

You can either spend 30 points in arms to increase the pace to get it, or 30 in discipline to have use it more, you can’t get both because you need 15 in one.

Its good balance.

You have to think outside but within the box when you make traits or trait ideas, i’ve already argued with myself about it for hours.

Not good enough, It needs to have another effect such as.
2 seconds of protection per bar, 2 seconds of regeneration per bar, immunity to blinds for 3 seconds after activating your burst skill. _(This means it would mesh well with cleansing ire.)

I have a bad feeling that’d be OP though.

I’d rather just have 1.5 seconds of prot. And it’d be nice if cleansing ire activated BEFORE the burst skill.

I often run into the issue where I have 2-3 conditions, and “ShakeItOff” removes the bleed or confusion instead of the blind or cripple I need gone to land my burst…. it’s a catch 22.. I need to land my burst to clear condis, and I need to clear condi’s to land my burst. I think I’ll edit my post to include cleansing ire.

Which came first, the condition chicken or the burst egg? :p

Other classes don’t need to read the enemies mind to perform there abilities, I’m sorry but its not OP, just lazy like the other classes abilities. We have to much proactive stuff already and blind needs a counter.

I’m not that big of a fan that it gets moved to grandmaster. This means that every burst build now also has to run 30 in defense. I would rather see some nice sustain options in strength, tactics or arms adept.

Its hard to do that without changing so much, my idea was more-so for a band-aid fix until they do that. (I want it too!)

Its actually a good idea. However I would also merge vitality/healing power after its done.

That’s actually something I was thinking of a couple of days ago.

How it’d be amazing if you could do slight modification to some armors. For example turn the fire off on the CoF armor, or for example choose to hide the gears from the new Aetherblade armors – slight customization to armor, like an on off switch.

I feel like it wouldn’t be too complicated of a thing to do and would really go a long way for personalizing your look. I for one completely neglect some armors for these reasons.

The CoF armor set would be my down right favorite armor in the entire game if I could remove the flames. Because of those flames I just don’t use it at all.

Yes, I love COF armor. I HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE THE FLAME… If I could remove that.. I would wear it immediately on my thief.

I want the option to completely remove particle effects when you customize armor since all the new armor seems to have it all over the place, it makes it so its almost impossible to combine with other pieces of armor which IMO is one of the reasons I bought the game: Customization.

Why have all new sets of gear if its impossible to combine with the older gear? It simply does not make any sense.

COF Armor would be great for example, if I could either color the fire to green or blue and then get the option to completely remove it. So would the dredge armor.

It has no role, it has little to no damage now without sacrificing everything and dieing easier then a ranger’s pet. It has no sustain and it is pretty much a giant punching bag.

Every attack feels slow and clunky like it was made for PvE, it simply has no place in the current meta and feels completely worthless.

The healing skills never got improved, Healing Signets passive and other healing spells output should honestly be tripled to much up for lack of survivability. We have no protection, honestly I don’t care if we are like any other classes, at least we won’t be worthless.

Until that time comes – I will continue to post on the forums and log in to do the daily, but the game is no longer fun for me as a warrior.

- Restorative Strength now also removes blind on top of the other conditions it removes. Now warriors must waste a healing skill to remove blind, easily removed/interrupted.

- Vigerous Shouts heal and convert a condition on yourself into a boon (or remove a condition on yourself if too potent) Must now spend 30 points into Vitality to be viable in pvp.

- ‘Precise Strikes’ renamed to ‘Satisfying Strikes’: 33% chance to inflict bleeding on critical hits, a chance to cure a condition with each bleed tick (Cooldown: 2-3 seconds). Good Idea, however the problem is if your blinded you miss anyways and can’t remove the blind. Therefore this trait would never remove blind.

- Shrug It Off is changed: Any Modified Condition applied grants Berserker Stance and Regeneration, (Cooldown: 40 seconds, can be adjustable for balance) Berserker’s Stance isn’t that good, why have temporary -100% when you can get perma -65% with runes/food? Honestly it should go back to 25 seconds with a -20% stance duration.

I’d say it’s not even worth the hassle of constantly having to recast it and having to run with un-sheathed weapons.

Thanks for response. For me it’s beneficial for movement in World vs World. The downside is that we can’t use it after we revived someone.

For most of us its not worth the hassel, a combo finisher isn’t even worth picking up a banner and slamming it down. You would do more by using your own abilities.

To make it a good trait, make it a ‘5’ or ‘25’.

Make our 5 point trait 10% of all toughness is precision, since we pretty much NEED critical chance as a warrior.

Make our 25 Trait Spiked Armor, except add protection.

PvP, and Bacon… I also tried with berserker’s power, seems to lower the difference a bit, but the chain skill still does more damage.

And Daecollo, it isn’t like people can just dodge whirlwind axe as well while unlike the 1 chain skill the axe, the whirlwind just SCREAMS “something to avoid” XD

To bad it does less damage then the sword chain. That video was made almost a year and a half ago when people.

Whirlwind does more damage to the warrior in spvp do to retaliation damage.

1 Didn’t know how to spec properly.
2 Didn’t know they could dodge.
3 Didn’t know they could spec defensively.
4 Didn’t know they could move while attacking.

This is why warriors are trash now.

That is how its always been, but realize that they spread all the damage to the END chain. (which IMO is the most stupid idea i’ve ever heard in my life.) You need to hit the entire chain to get that DPS now. (Which… is hard since everyone dodges/evades/blinds so much…)

Increasing Toughness literally does so much less after 3000 due to diminishing returns.

As I said, it would be an ok minor.

However, Toughness and Armor are pretty much the same stat, it would be pretty much to code into one.

If I have 3k armor and 25% (barley 900) would give me about 275ish armor… which is about 2.3% damage reduction since I already have so much armor.

Its not worth it unless you are in full berserker’s armor. It would be an ‘ok’ Minor Trait I guess?

Says the guy who is a warrior. No hidden agenda here?

In general the challenge is how to improve the PvP angle without making the warrior completely OP in PvE or in WvW zergs.

I play Necromancer, Thief as well. I would not touch a warrior in SPVP ever with a ten foot pole. I simply challenged a good friend to a duel and I said I would use no amulet and utilities or healing spells to beat him and did, twice.

I challenge anyone to do the same vs a warrior.

Using Warrior and OP in the same sentence should be a sin…

Yesterday in Spvp, I beat a warrior using no amulet, no utilities, no healing skill.

Feels great man, so easy and predictable.

You may see me on the forums, but I usually play Thief/Necromancer in SPVP.
