This is taken from another post to explain burning:
If two ppl cast burning on the same target, priority is given to the higher condition dmg and the duration stacks. Basically it goes like this:
Player A casts burning for 5 seconds.
Player B casts burning for 3 seconds.
If player B has higher condition dmg, the result would be as follows:
Player B’s burning ticks first for 3 seconds, then Player A’s burning ticks for 5 seconds. At no point in time will your burning be overwritten. It will just be shuffled around in the load order, with the highest dmg burning ticking before the other ones.

I’ve heard that if you apply burning to a target (with added condition damage), and I apply burning to a target (with no added condition damage), it will take the lesser intensity of the two, but combine the duration.
Anyone know this for sure?
The way burning works is based on who has more Condition damage gets higher ticks off in the line. So if you have 1400CD and I have 1700CD my ticks have priority, but both go through.

@Nerva I disagree, you just need a better group to run with in WvW. I do just fine getting in close and with a 21k health pool I live long enough to get in with Judge’s Tele spread my skills out to do some serious damage and get out to fall back to the Support lines until CDs are up to get back in. During larger engagements anyway.
Don’t dismiss things with baseless claims. It doesn’t further discussion.

Honestly it’s by no fault of yours or other people. I think people en masse are getting tired of asking for help or revision with little to no response from ANET in the negative or the affirmative.

If the person realizes that he is a “Squad Commander” and not an “Army Commander”. It’s easy to lead a zerg into an obvious objective. What sets a commander apart is if he serves as an example for other groups to follow.
-A squad commander will defend supply depots and upgrade them.
-A squad commander will escort dolyaks if a keep is starving for it.
-A squad commander will install siege for defense of newly acquired territory.
-A squad commander will raid enemy supply camps and bring the supplies back to his keep for more siege.
-A squad commander will build siege for other people to use in key locations.
-A squad commander will lead his group for flanking enemy siege.
-A squad commander will show his group how to harass trebs, mortars, and arrow carts that are in difficult locations.All eyes will be on you. You will literally have 10-20 players see what you’re doing and learn from it. A glory-hound commander that charges into Stonemist and takes credit for it is worthless.
This whole post is perfect. Guidlines any decent Commander should be following. Kudos for your wording at the end as well bud, couldn’t have said it better myself.

Both, unfortunately. You need Power to make high Precision worth it, but you need Toughness or Vitality (aka survivability) to make those worth using as a mainstay. Or just be ok with havig 12k Health and glass cannon your way through endgame. You can do that, if you have a supoprtive group with you when you do things. It’s definitely an option.

As a Commander I can tell you, at least on HoD, I get whispers from those not in my Squad (it fills up quick) with what their group is doing, where, with what, and an estimated ETA for support if needed. The Militia (aka Non-Alliance based personnel) on HoD is probably the most exceptional grouping of players in the game. With everyone working with Commanders from TA, and the few that aren’t we get work done. It’s all about communication and a real want to win attitude.
That being said, a Commander UI box would be AMAZING. As well the ability to SEE all of the people in my Squad on the Map regardless of how near/far from me they are would be awesome. However, if ANET has plans for something like that. I don’t see it in the near future. One can hope though. Soon enough…

Unlimited has 60 people, with a guild requirment of 25+ hours a week minimum. Your claims against ‘hardcore players’ are baseless. We have, after 30 something days the game has been out, max upgrade rank of everything based on that play. Even if what you say is true, those upgrades are not gamebreakers, as they weren’t intended to be. You don’t NEED them.
Its not the other upgrades, its the guild bank.
I don’t even know what to respond with… I truly do not.

Kaineng consistently has the best queue situation of any NA server so it seems like an obvious win for any guilds looking to play together. I hope that your PR efforts continue to pay off!

Upgrades are very easy to get. When you have active players Influence comes in like hot cakes to fat kids. That’s not an issue, nor should it be if you’re driven. All that is, is a cop-out and an excuse. In my opinion, of course.

Just be aware that every update will have a nerf to this profession. Soon we’ll all be Warriors instead.
I’ve said it in previous posts and this guy juts it right back out into the open. Guardians (mainly ones on the attack) are like another MMO’s Vanilla RetPaladins right now. Laughed at for not being Warriors, and hated/complained about when we do well. Only the few will stick with them, work against the grain, and be feared. We few, we proud, proud few.
I love the idea, and I agree with it wholeheartedly. Hope this gets some attention from the right people.

WvW Focused Player, I use Full Carrion (Power/Vitality/Condition Damage). My build is based around Condition Damage, thus so is my gear. I do not use Runes, I use the Power/Vitality/Condition Damage Orbs in my gear to maximize stats. This allows for my Vitality to be decently high, my power to allow my auto attacks to hit for around 2.2k and crit for 3.6k, and heavy condition damage with quick uptime/long duration has my burn ticking for well over 1000.
Full stat make-up with all the gear and Orbs in them is instead of Runes:
1,723 Condition damage with Pizza( almost 1,900 with 3 orbs)
20,956 health (24k with 3 orbs)
2,022 Power

So changed (specifically for WvW) Stand Your Ground out for untraited Wall of Reflection. I’m not sure which I love more! I can honetly say the Stability is amazing, but the utility offered by the Wall is just… oh it’s just amazing. Thoughts?

It’s not rage, it’s the truth. It should be Account Bound. It’s still for it not to be. There’s no Commander UI, they didn’t add Squad visuals on the map, there’s nothing substantial to force it to be Character bound. 3 Map Icons and the ability to have people speak in /squad is insufficient. Either upgrade it to have it’s own UI and let the people in the Squad see each other on the map or make it Account Bound. I see that as being a legit request.

The build uses Greatsword / Sword|Torch. The stat focus of the build is Carrion gear specific. Power/Vitality/Condition Damage. Damage focus is AoE Burning, single target white damage, and damage done via Retaliation.
Utility Skills:
1. Purging Flames: Consecration – Create a ring of fire that burns foes and cures conditions on allies.
2. Judge’s Intervention: Meditation – Teleport to your target and burn nearby foes.
3. “Stand Your Ground!”: Shout – Grant stability to yourself and allies.

[Minor] Power of the Virtuous – Deal extra damage for each boon you have.
[Major] (XI) Permeating Wrath – Justice no longer burns your target, but instead burns the area around you each time it activates.
As you can see the Utility Skills, the weapon setup, and the traits correspond with the point of the build.
The intention of the build wasn’t initially to be so much a glass cannon, however, you end up with: Attack 3135, low Crit. chance 18%, ~1900 condition damage, and a huge increase in Burning duration. With all my bells and whistles blown and a full rotation I can (not just 1v1 but because of the AoE 1vgroup) stack over 55 seconds of Bruning.
Obviously condition removal is an issue, however, being that it can be reapplied VERY easily, it’s not a huge issue. As well the amount of power stacked has your white damage being pretty nasty. The Torch speaks for itself, as does the burst with a Sword.

This moaning and groaning over ranged weapons is getting old, no? Forget what you don’t have and make it work with what you do. Build Toughness/Vitality and be a rock wall. Build Healing Power and Condition Damage and be a Support. Why do you need to be a Warrior on your Guardian? For Christ’s sake enough is enough. We don’t have a Longbow, move on. If you’re solo in WvW, then you might consider looking for a Group or Guild on your server who run in WvW a lot. DO something.

I run a Power/Condition Damage build with 30 in Virtues, and I have to say I love Renewed Focus. My build is 10.30.0.0.30, its been on the forums listed as Godsfire (my toon name) and I honestly have 0 complaints about RF. I can see if you think that the utility that comes from the three Virtues is pointless, that you would dismiss it entirely. To be honest you’re not making the most of your main Utility as a Guardian then, and in my mind (even though I run a Damage build instead of Support) our Group Buffs are very strong, yet ignored.
Think less about what your Elites can do for you, and think more about what they allow you to do for your group. Just my two pennies.

Sounds like you have a very cool idea there. I wouldn’t mind seeing it. As long as it can be balanced. In my mind the biggest threat for something like this that would become a buffbot (essentially) would be how they could be abused if stacked near each other and have decent amount of defense they could cause an army to never die. Making Turtle Defensive strats last forever. There would have to be something to offset them.

I’m assuming you will be mailed new bags, however, this is JUST AN ASSUMPTION. That would be the easiest way I see doing it. Finding the people who have completed the certain part of the chain (via coding) and mailing said Charater the fixed loot bags.
