I’m Nero, I got a laurel …
… and hardy.
where’s the smilies ’round here?
LOL Reminds me of Blazing Sazzles….We Welcome you with this Laurel…and Hardy Handshake…..
Now I will have to say I have not come across the “Combo Killer” daily yet, maybe when I get home ( I thought someone said they deactivated that one?)
What does the explanation of the daily read?
Also I think I read in this post that there is a kill with allies type of quest where you have to kill with others? Sounds like a couple trips to the Maw can finish that one :-)
Here’s the part that really cuts me up :-) Tossing the refined goods onto the tp if I am so against any kind of crafting that I wont personally use the items.
Yes, I sort of see your point. I’m just not sure how it relates to the quote from me that you actually used. lol
Sorry, Iv’e been randomly following the thread while at work and I think I was aiming at teh quote imbedded in yours while also thinking back to some of your points in earlier posts :-)
Both worked for me, and I revived more NPCs than I did Players and achieved the complete.
If I needed something, I’d craft it.
This is kind of how I feel about the crafting dailies, too. I plan to go ahead and do them because I want the laurels, but the items I’ll end up making will have no real purpose. Now, if they would add drink recipes to cooking, I’d be able to get my daily and do something else useful at the same time. lol
Hint, hint…
I still don’t see the issue. The only thing i can see being different is if a player doesn’t even farm the trees or ore at all. If not, it should be no issue to carry low level farming tools in the allotted slots on a toon and while doing the other dailies (this totally depends on the level are you are doing dailies on as you may need a higher level of farming tools if you don’t see the need to do your dailies quickily in a low level area) and just farm the random tree, ore that you come across.
The tough part in completing the daily is refining the wood/ore into boards/bars to complete the daily.

While I agree that nobody should be forced to play in a way they do not wish to, it seems to me that many people do not use certain mechanics or aspects of the game because they may not want to take the time to learn them.
Adding things such as a Dodging Daily and Combo Killer(Sounds like they removed this one)Dailies they are instilling ways to get people to practice these functions.
People complain about not being able to solo some things and believing they need to be fixed when maybe they just aren’t utilizing all the available skills needed to combat the mobs. These dailies introduce learning that can be used by those not currently using all available ways to combat the obstacles. Yes, those who already use the skills will just have to ride along if they want to complete their dailies, which aren’t purely detrimental to playing the game but just a bonus aspect.
Reviving Allies Daily…. NPCs work too. It promotes helping a fallen comrade before moving on.
Crafting Daily- Seems i have seen players confirming that all you have to do is farm up some natural resources, Ore, Wood and refining them to finish the daily. Only costs your mining tool.
There really doesn’t seem to be much to complain about. Most of the complaining seems to be the mob following suit instead of thinking through the issues and finding practical solutions.
Shoes got wet walking by this thread, came in to see why….oh it’s from all the tears.
Love the Name
Here lies Daemirian Taltos the Thief whose final words were heard to be…
“What do you mean they can still see me…?”
I never understood why MMOs put racials into the game that were anything other than aestheticly pleasing. No game ever gets them balanced correctly.
Choosing a race should be based purely on aesthtics and not how that race can give you an edge in the game.
Great Video. So far I have only viewed the first one and I am thrilled to see that even though i am still new to the game, I seem to have chosen my weapons as you have rated them.
I am solo leveling with a Staff, Sword/Pistol combo.
I’m sure you will cover this in one or more of the next vids I will be viewing but I just have to say one of my favorite routines to use against multiple mobs is:
Getting some Winds of Chaos hits in, Phase retreat and get my iLock up, Drop Chaos Storm in the middle of them if they are still ranged or maybe just ahead of them if they are on the move towards me, pop chaos armor, swap to S/P combo, iLeap/Swap into the mass (also within the storm that is still active) go into blurred Frenzy (or a round of Mind Slash if I was quick enough to still have the storm up then Blurred Frenzy) If for some reason there are still mobs up I can evade back until I am ready to swap back to Staff and hit a phase retreat again.
Your video has given me more insight on some other skills I can add into that. I can’t wait to watch the rest of them.
Great Job and thanks for your work.
Being still new to the game, but having the urge to make suggestions anyhow, as far as Legendaries go..Grinded out, Bought from the TP however they are obtained I feel 100% World Completion should be a pre-requeset to being able to even Equip a Legendary.
At least then when you see a Legendary you will think, well at least they finished an achievement to be able to show it off.Edit: For those who want a Legendary on their alts, maybe make it so that 1 character’s 100% World Achievement unlocks the right to carry a Legendary on any toons on that account?
Map completion already is a requirement. It gives you two tokens to make two legendaries.
I’m in the process of doing world completion again so that I can make my 3rd one. It’s tough.
Map completion to craft or as a pre-req to Carry the item? Sounds like people can just buy these things off the TP. Completion Requirement just to be able to Carry one would set the carrier apart from someone who purchased one without doing anything but buying gold…
Edit: Even if they did buy one off of the Trade, they would at least have to have one toon that did World Completion to unlock their account to display it on any toon. That way people who are crafting legendaries for profit would still have a market, but not to just any new player such as myself who ran off and bought gold, unlike myself, to get the shinies.

I leveled a little differently. I played almost the whole time with staff and sword/pistol.
My general pattern was staff 1, staff 3, staff 1.
When the enemy gets close, staff 5 (chaos storm) followed by staff 2 (teleport out and get chaos armor). Then I’d swap to my sword / pistol. If the enemy was close, pistol 5 (which is an interrupt and a 1 sec stun but will bounce and aggro other enemies),
Pistol 4.Sword 2 is great because it does good damage and also grants temporary invincibility. Sword 3 is a clone generator.
Go to abilities are mirror image and decoy my third ability I swap around depending on circumstances. Feedback is great for Kessex Hills and the Hirathi Hinterlands.
I used the default healing skill.
For traits I did dueling up to 10 points to take Blade training.
Followed by Illusion to 10 for Precise Wrack
Followed by Domination to 10 for Mental Torment. At level 40, respec and get Dueling to 20 for Deceptive Evasion
I also have been using this Staff, Sword/Pistol combo for leveling with one hitch…
When I join an event ie. Maw, I swap my S/P out for GS so that I am running Staff, GS
Staff it up until you get some conditions going then pop to GS for some decent ranged Damage while being free to assist in some revives.
Or add to the vendor an option to PAY to have previously bought Renown weapons salvaged for you with mats and normal % chance of sigil returned to you.
Legendaries should be a reward for putting the time and effort into obtaining them.
By doing so you are saying “Hey Arenanet, youv’e made a fine game and I have accepted and done what you chose is necessary to obtain this fine, optional, not in anyway necessary to compete otherwise, piece of equipment”
“Thanks for the shiny and keep up the good work.”
Nobody is in no way Entitled to have a Legendary just because they paid the price of admission. Having or not having a Legendary is in no way gamebreaking either way.
Modern society has taught our children that just because you show up to the game, win or lose, you get a reward. Bring back competitiveness and stop handing out rewards like candy. Because when Everybody is special, then nobody is.
6/10 Stardust… love the Movie by the same name
6/10 Abyss… just like the word :-)
Thief – Daemonne Taltos
Necro – Daemirian Ekieron
Daemonne and Daemirian are my usual names with Tharsis (origional) and Taltos (taken from my favorite assassin Lord Vladimir Taltos from the Jhereg books by Steven Brust)
eKieron is also from same books.
If anything is going to take a boon and add it to the thief, it should be added to Steal. It’s on a long enough CD that it would not become a bit OP.
It seem that people are coming up with all these ideas when culling and rendering seem to be the real problem.
What’s going to end up happening is they’ll get fixed with the addition of some nerf to stealth which will break the stealth feature from overcompensation.
Fix Culling/Rendering issues first and see where it stands from there.
