New to WvWvW

Well, I wanted to wait and get a character to 80 first in PvE so I would have complete understanding of all of my skills and Tactics unlocked, but alas I seem to have Toon ADD where I just can’t stop alternating which profession I am playing :-/

So here is my solution. I would like to jsut start leveling the character I want to WvWvW with IN WvWvW.

I have read the Stickied explanation of WvWvW but I still have a few things that fall outside of that tutorial.

So here come the questions.
Being a lowbie (yes, I understand they kick you up to 80) what’s the best way to level in WvW? (aside from finding a zerg as I have noticed I may have chosen an underdog sever when I switched to get my friend to play :-( )

While leveling and getting my face kicked in by the enemy, is there ways to make money so I can repair my gear? (I’m playing an Engi so I’m twice nerfed. Lowbie Eng and underdog server)

Don’t get me wrong, I don’t mind being on what may be a challenged server (I haven’t logged in to play WvW much yet so I only have one time frame to actually take my info from, although the point spread didn’t bolster my opinion) and I’m pretty sure I can weather any frustrations of not being the BEAT All RAWR OMG HERE THEY COME RUN AWAY Beasties. I would like to last long enough, while leveling, to at least still want to smash face when I finally earn my 80 and gear.

Also, please keep in mind that I’m not looking for advice on choosing a better profession. I also don’t mind playing a support role, I don’t need to be the Hey I can 1v4 Rawr class :-) I wouldn’t mind being able to hold my own 1v1 while levling though, but as I will most likely run across geared people, Ill settle for my lot in life. I just like the Engi. I have high hopes for the profession to pan out.

Back to the Questions:
Is WvWvW all one place (Zone)? Or are there Different WvWvW’s as there are different sPvP “Battlegrounds”? I noticed when I entered through my WvW tab that I had a choice in where I went, but didn’t notice if those selections were the same as the Portals from the main area that lead you to the 4 different Contended spots within the Zone. (Did that make sense? I’m at work and only really get a bit of time to jump in and play with the needs of my family taking precedence)

I saw the Skill points and Vistas and Places of interest in the WvWvW zone, are there also heart quests to do? DE’s? Etc.

Ill have to post more in here as they come to me.

Thanks in advance for anybody who has taken the time to posts some answers and serious suggestions.
:-)

omg, ASB it wasn’t a flaw. XD
How do stat capped players tackle monsters that had no restrictions. The players had to rely on earning new skills, tuning builds to tackle specific areas, make the effort to engage in more thoughtful tactics, and develop more conscientious attribute spreads.
They simply had to become better players. It was just like sports and I thought it was genius.

Yet even in sports they are always upgrading to the Newest/Best perfomance Shoes/Pads/Helmets/Balls/Bats whatever the particular sport used. In order to do they they had to perform with what they had and earn newer and wealthier sponsers…..kinda sounds like a gear grind.

The hell are you doing that makes it take an hour per day for your daily?

Underwater kills: About 5 minutes
Crafting: 1 minute
Gathering: 5 minutes
Events: about 3-4 minutes total
Dodges: 2 minutes

please post a video of you doing this.

no really….

Everything except the Events in 3-4 minutes is easily doable.
Underwater Kills…all those 1pt fish count

Gathering…with 3-4 resources per node 20 comes fast

Crafting…refining those resources you just farmed gets you there

Dodges….I use 3 – 4 Golems in an area I go to and stand in the sustained attack and dodge through 2x each one. You get 2-3 Evades per dodge depending how much of the sustained attack you go through.

Because not only should each character be independently able to choose which server they want to play on, but if you make a character on a wrong server, you shouldn’t be forced to go out and buy a new $60 game or a $20 game pass (which is only $10 less than I paid for the game) to fix the error.

Something as important as a once-in-a-lifetime decision to choose your server is simply too large a decision to make for a player starting out for the first time. Perhaps if you had to level to 10 to get off some newbie island and once you left the newbie island you chose your server and were stuck with it, fine.

But how many people out there bought the game because a friend told them it was awesome and in your eagerness to join them, you forgot to ask which server they played on. Thinking the problem can be corrected, you just make an character to see how the game works with the intention of remaking when your friend comes home from work only to find out your SOL because you made a life-altering decision 30 seconds after you installed the game and before you could even decide what kind of character you wanted to make.

That’s why it’s poor game design and shows a complete lack of concern for the playerbase. It’s the kind of error a new game designer makes… like when you were in highschool and your teacher told you to make a tic-tac-toe game and you coded for every possibility except for if there was a tie and you forced them to shut down the game and restart it.

Novice game design showing no foresite whatsoever. Something you’d expect from someone taking their first programming or game design 101 class.

So Delete you characters so that you have none created and swap server?

I’m glad some people find this one easy. I’m glad some people are able to finish this one in mere moments, or by playing exactly as they normally play.

I solo a lot. My main is a ranger. I run axe/torch (love the combos) w/ a melee pet. I almost never dodge in regular play because I hardly ever need to – my pet is generally the one taking hits, not me. I also run a warrior who hardly ever dodges (he kills things fast enough so why bother), an elementalist who hardly ever dodges (ditto), & a variety of lower level classes (& at lower levels I find it just not necessary). So no, I don’t pick up this one through ordinary play because I don’t bother to dodge very often in ordinary play – it usually seems like a waste of time IMO.

I also found very quickly during beta that I SUCK at dodging – I am not a twitch player. I can track multiple mobs & coordinate a variety of things simultaneously (harkening back to old school EQ bard swarmkiting pre-automated twisting), but I can’t dodge for kitten.

I understand the principal of utilizing the dailies to ‘teach’ the game. What I find, however, is that it feels like I’m being nudged into playing the game ‘right’ – as if somehow the way I enjoy playing the game is ‘wrong’. I’m not out there constantly meeting death for failure to dodge – in fact, I’ve met more death from trying to get through this kitten daily!

‘Round up a swarm & just dodge’… or, if you suck at it like I do, just die when they all unleash right AFTER you dodge (or right before, whatever). ‘Dodge an archer’; I can’t time it reliably & have to sit there trying & trying & healing & waiting for stamina to build up enough & trying again & finally running the mob off because kitten my health is too low now gonna die. ‘Find something with a slow swing’; I’ve tried with a single melee centaur, the ones with the reeeeeaaaaallllyyyy long projected swing… & maybe get 1 dodge out of every 6 or 7 swings (also done ettins & worms with the same result; in fact, I’m actually worse of all on the worms – which have the slowest wind up). Probably the only things I manage with much success at all is AEs, but I’m having trouble finding enough of those (& they tend not to fire that often per fight).

Additional fun bits of the dodge one: on my ranger, I have to turn my pet OFF to have a decent chance of getting this one, since otherwise the mobs focus more on my pet (I recognize that people who are better dodgers my not have to resort to this). Hmm, ‘teaching’ me to play the game ‘right’ but getting me to disable a major feature of my class? Likewise when trying to do this one on my lowbie mesmer I had to avoid using any sort of clones… which is, um, kinda a big part of what the class is about. Hrm. :/

So again, I’m glad that there are folks who enjoy this one – but I hate it with a deep & burning passion. >/

I don’t know how you have your Keybinds set but I have set my DODGE to my mousewheel when it is depressed not rolled.
I no longer have to double click to dodge, if I am already moving in one direction I just click the wheel and I am dodging. It may give you a little bit of an edge to the default setting.
2nd, use an alt to get the Daily done if your Ranger is having pet troubles :-) I personally use a spot in the Asura territory, when I am pressed for time, that has Golems that do Sustained attacks and dodge a couple of times through each one. Since they are sustained attacks I never fail to gain a dodge even though I also take damage.

The problem is you’re going out of your way to try and “solve” the daily, instead of just playing the game like you normally do.

No, the problem is what you’re suggesting used to work a whole lot better with the old Daily, but not so much now with the new one.

First of all, in the past there were only 4 tasks to complete, where as now there are 5. More importantly, those four tasks meshed together very well. In the process of completing one aspect of the daily it was very easy to naturally complete another. Completing Daily Events, for example, could easily complete the Daily Kills requirement, and you were likely to finish Daily Gatherer in the process of finding those events. The flow was much more natural.

With the broader range of event types available now it can take much more time to complete the daily than it used to. I’m not saying the steps are hard (and they weren’t previously either), but they are much more time consuming now, and there are more tasks per day to complete, and they do require you to go more out of your way to nab them all. Without traveling to specific locations you are not likely to complete Daily Healer, Daily Aquatic Kills, and Daily Crafter in the same pass, for example.

Therefore actually Deserving a reward of the laurel instead of just logging in and getting one free daily.

Daemonne.5018

You have 24 hours to complete your daily. If you go about yourself doing events and such, you will get it done without even knowing it.

It is your choice to go and stand around waiting to rez someone, so it’s nobody elses fault that you choose to play like that.

So just go about your business and you’ll complete your daily.

Really? Is that really how I came across? Standing around for an entire 24 hours waiting for someone to rez? Do you think this could have been written a little less abraisively, like as if you were speaking to another human being maybe?

I don’t play for 24 hours a day.
As I said, I ran around a map looking for anything to rez and found 1 in half an hour. And that was at the end of me going about my business for several hours.

As someone already stated, the point I’m making is that yes, there are places you can easily get it. Everyone has seen places like those. But unless you make a specific intention to get to a dragon or to do dungeons or find one of those graveyards, you won’t find enough bodies. Which means it’s not something that naturally happens while exploring. You might luck out and find a place with 10 bodies, or you may find 2 in your whole gaming session.

Out of curiosity, you are realizing that NPC’s count for the daily Healing?
I don’t know if you are the type of player that plays alts or not, but if you are having that much trouble, have an alt logged at a quest spot that has revivable NPCs lying all over the place. Log in, revive 10 and revert back to your Main. Dailies are account wide, not character specific. Same can be done with pretty much any of the dailies. Log an alt near water for the underwater kills, one logged in a town with crafting access to grab whatever gathered recources you have collected and sent to the bank, etc.
Those Veteran tree type mobs that roam in foresty areas make a great spot for the vet daily as they gather in multiples in an area and respawn pretty quick and are mostly non aggressive until attacked so you wont pull multiples.

I cannot think of the territory name as I just started working my Asura, but there is an area with Golems that do some special moves.
One does a rabbit type punch that is ranged the other does a whirlwind attack.
Both attacks may be dodged after you start taking dmage as they are sustained attacks.
Double dodge during each attack and you can be done in 2-4 Golems.
Most will complain that they would have to spend a silver or so to get there, but I think a Laurel outweighs the cost.

daily crafter is really annoying me. i don’t craft on any characters and i don’t enjoy spending money on the materials needed to craft.

i ended up making piles of salt and pepper and i disliked it immensely. everyone needs to kill enemies and dodge and all that, but not everyone crafts and not everyone wants to.

i would love to see crafting removed so i never have to do it again.

As I said above:

You need to gather as well. Gather logs or ore (T1 stuff). Turn them into ingots and planks. Done. No money required. And crafting isn’t there all days either.

it takes 10 ore things and 1 tin thing to make an ingot. that means gathering 100 copper ores or buying them for 13 s 50 c.

three guesses which one is cheaper: salt and pepper or ingots.

Logs to Boards would be cheapest.

People were stating what they would like long before ANet started acquiescing.
ANet sees some ideas they they concur with and put them into play and bam, all of a sudden people are pointing fingers and saying well they got what they wanted and this company favors those people when all it really is is that the Devs came across an idea that stood out to them and they agreed with..
There will never be a time in MMO’s when EVERYBODY gets what they want and all sides are 100% happy with EVERYTHING.

Allow me to respond to each of your points specifically:

Daemonne.5018:
Then you have people picking the 5 easiest dailies and the rest will be relegated to the trash bin.

Response:
And you personally have a problem with this? The way people choose to play their game?

Daemonne.5018:
“It’s too much trouble to slay 5 veterens, I’ll just go refine this ore I have collected for the easy Daily.”

Response:
Certainly not, if I choose to slay them. Again, why do you care if I choose to refine ore for an easy daily?

Daemonne.5018:
“I don’t feel like dodging ever,

Response:
Excellent point, my feelings exactly!

Daemonne.5018:
I’ll just go revive 5 NPC’s at such n such spot"

Response:
I think that’s a viable choice should I choose it. Again, you seem to have a problem with people’s choices?

Daemonne.5018:
Why would they instill a Daily into the rotation if the Devs didn’t want anybody to do it?

Response:
This question seems to be troubling a lot of people.

Daemonne.5018:
They coded and added it, we get to have it in our rotations.

Response:
It seems the change while well intended was ill conceived.

As a rebuttal:
The game was designed to not be a grind, and this change hasn’t done a thing to further that goal.

If anything it has soured some people who only have a short period of time to play during the week, and doing dailies in an hour or so was a productive way to spend their time.

Incorporating obscure combat moves to meet daily requirements is IMO an unwise move.
While some may argue that it’s good for us to know these moves, I prefer to play my own game the way I choose to play it. In the same way I choose the foods I eat and beverages I consume (much to the chagrin of certain constituencies that profess to know what’s best).
[/quote]

While your responces aptly show your opinion, you are indeed playing Anets Game the way they choose in everything else you do because that’s the way they origionally laid it out. Now that they have made a change you find you are able to say, no that’s not my playstyle.
If the dailies were in their current state from the get go then that would have been the playstyle you would have played..No?
Now that you see a difference you have something to argue about.

New Dailies

Throwing away rewards may be irritating but why should you be rewarded EXTRA for just doing your normal gameplay?

Dailies are a bonus that brings an extra reward. Just trodding along completing your zones is already rewarded with leveling/xp and ultimately World Completion.

Up until this update, dailies offered rewards and could be completed during the course of normal gameplay. Now, they offer one additional reward. Big whoop. It’s not a stretch to think that if one was rewarded EXTRA for not going out of their way before, that this would continue. Yet, some people are finding they need to go out of their normal gameplay patterns to get the new dailies done.

If ANet had said, “We are changing dailies to require more effort due to the additional reward currency.” that would be different. Absent such a statement, it is natural to assume that the effort to complete dailies would be about the same as it was before. If you’ve seen such a statement that the rest of us missed, please link it.

Just because it was that way before does not mean that we are entitled to continue to have it this way.
Statement or no, to assume anything…well I’m sure you know the saying.
Viewing all or at least a very good majority, as I have been following them, the posts for and against the daily change, I can see that a good number of people are posting against just for arguments sake and not because it has become truly game changing.
A little more effort on some parts and having to do a few others that would not have normally been part of somes gameplay, example: crafting, has not made dailies impossible. There was one daily that was deemed bugged or too difficult and it was removed.
Also, if the scuttlebutt is true, and I only say rumor cause I have not read the intent personally from Anet, then players will have a choice in what they do for dailies in the future.

If you play solitaire with only one suit, your game is going to end faster and feel lacking.

With GW2 not being subscription base, players who could amass enough gold for the gems to be able to purchase the expansion would essentially be getting the game for free.
Time and resources go into creating games and their expansions and while Anet is probably doing well with their Gem business on top of the inital game purchases, I’m sure their employees would like to be appreciated with raises and/or bonuses which giving away free games would effectively curtail.

Although I have no issues whatsoever with any of the “new” dailies, I think the Daily Vendor one should automatically remove itself from the rotation once you have done it once. I’m shocked at how many people can’t dodge. It’s so ingrained in me now that I don’t even have to worry about this achievement. I usually get it just by running past mobs. Then again, I’ve always been the type to dodge at the last moment in order to maximize damage and minimize the chances of landing in an even bigger mess.

The issue is not how hard or easy it is to do. Having these daily achievements alters the way people play and not necessarily for the better. That was probably not ANet’s intention. In theory Dodger and Combo Killer were “freebies” you can randomly get these done in normal course of playing. In practice many people are going to be “doing their daily” to ensure that it gets done in a timely matter which will force a certain play style making things less enjoyable.

As opposed to receiving an extra bonus for doing nothing special other than leveling, where leveling should be the reward, and Forrest Gumping our way through dailies without even realizing we’d done them.

I mean, do players really don’t want to work hard anymore? Is this the society we are in? We feel that we should have things the easy way everytime?

We get Pizza delivered to our door because we don’t want to cook or are too lazy to get dressed to go out to eat or can’t miss that show that’s on tv. We are a catered to society….
Answer…Yes

Does not make it right though. :-D

I really like the new dailies, but definitely think that ANet should have released the ‘4 of 6’ choice system at the same time. If it wasn’t going to be ready now, they should have just delayed introducing the new dailies until they could both be introduced at once.

Ahh but by not releasing the choice along with the new Dailies, they can make sure all the Dailies get tested instead of the less then choice ones get ignored.

You just killed a small part of the game for me, pushing it closer towards the mindless grind fest.

But I’ve already found myself doing non-fun techniques to finish the achievement like not killing a mob just so I could repeatedly dodge its attacks.

That is exactly what I mean. Who would want to do that?
Also, crafting. Personally, I don’t do it. I don’t like it. I know my opinion should not apply to everyone, but shouldn’t such things as crafting be done to get useful stuff and not to complete a daily achievement? What’s fun about running to the city and crafting a bunch of crap just to get it over with?

Technically you can get useful stuff out of teh Daily Crafting. You refine Ore/Logs into Bars/Planks and toss em onto the TP. They’ll disappear in no time. Daily for Profit.

I am sorry to sound all negative, but I don’t really like where this is going. Not one little bit. Seriously, I love this game and I enjoy playing it. You know why? Because it does not try to force me into a certain way of playing. Instead, it allows me to choose. Well, it DID at least.

Who in the world thought this new dailies system was a good idea? Up until now they were not intrusive: just come and play, you will eventually get it. You were getting rewarded for playing, and that is how it’s supposed to be done. Who was the person, who came and said: "You know what? Let’s not reward people for playing as they like! Let’s artificially force them to do stuff they have no reason for doing! How about that? Oh, they don’t agree? Too bad, no rewards for ’em today! "

This may seem a minor thing. I mean, dailies are not the most important part of the game. However, these kinds of minor things do make me wonder where this game is headed to, and I can’t say I like what I see. Forcing people to play together? Forcing to craft? Is that your way of involving players into an every aspect of your game, instead of actually making the stuff interesting, so people would CHOOSE to do it? Well, thanks, but no, thanks. Your idea sucks, Arena.

People play together because they like it. People craft, because it’s useful. People dodge attacks, because that is one way of surviving. If they don’t do that… Well, they DON’T find it entertaining. It is that simple. What’s the point in forcing people to do any of these things just to get a daily reward? I don’t get what you are trying to accomplish here. If that is how “diversity” and “fun” is introduced in this game, I’m afraid I can’t understand your concept of fun. Being encouraged to do mindless tasks just for the sake of doing them is somewhere on the opposite pole of the universe from an actual “fun”.

You just killed a small part of the game for me, pushing it closer towards the mindless grind fest.

I’m sorry but I cannot get past the whole"forcing" portion of your post.

I THINK that first there would have to be room on that server, also if you are just going to reroll onto that server then you would have to delete your toons from the first server.
BUT I do not know that first hand.
There is a guesting service now where you can temporarily play with your friends on another server but not in PVP.

Edit – I understand your theory that the dodge and combo achievements were added to show players these mechanics, but these really should have been added in the tutorial, as they are a major part of GW2’s combat system. Not that I mind these achievements, I think they are ok, I just feel these should have been explained to new players from day one. Not that I blame them too much though, as there is a lot to take in with GW2, so maybe adding them as achievements is the best method, so long as we have some kind of choice to how we do our dailies I have no objection to dodging and combos being part of that choice.

It may be too late as there are people who have completed the World Exploration but maybe Adding a couple of Heart quests in the starting areas, sort of like the ones where you pick up the rifle or the shield and learn to time shooting and blocking, for Dodging. Toss in ones for Combo Training in the areas leveled high enough for when all characters have them attainable.

Then you have people picking the 5 easiest dailies and the rest will be relegated to the trash bin.
“It’s too much trouble to slay 5 veterens, I’ll just go refine this ore I have collected for the easy Daily.”
“I don’t feel like dodging ever, I’ll just go revive 5 NPC’s at such n such spot”
Why would they instill a Daily into the rotation if the Devs didn’t want anybody to do it?
They coded and added it, we get to have it in our rotations.

So long as anything that achieves your daily takes a reasonable amount of time (easy tasks would require more time involved, so 30 gathers as opposed to 5 veterans) I see no problem with allowing players to choose their activities. I think more than one activity should be done, but those activities should be your choice.

Why shouldn’t people be allowed to play the game the way they want? If they find it fun to do the easy stuff, what difference does it make to you? So long as it takes time to do, it is not a problem.

Arenanet wants us to play the game our way, so we really should be allowed to choose how we complete our daily achievements IMO.

I can agree with the easy ones taking longer, if choice of dailies were given.
Remember though, Dailies are a bonus, people can always choose NOT to do them. They aren’t game breaking.

Edit: Choice of Dailies, with at least one increased version of Dodge, Vet Killer, or whichever ones aren’t chosen by a player, each be completed once to fulfill the Monthy Requirement. Each Month.

I hate the changed dailies. The original ones weren’t a hassle, something everyone could complete in their own time and at their own pace. Now we’re dealing with things you HAVE to group for. I hate grouping, outside of PVP. I generally quit games that tell me grouping is the only way to go. I want to be in charge of my own time, and I detest standing around waiting for others.

I’m also really upset about finding ‘achievements’ which some of us are physically unable to do (twitch elements are rather hard on the physically handicapped). And I just don’t see the point in making people do things they absolutely loathe.

Can we please just get the old dailies back?

Which dailies do you have to group for? If you are talking about combo killer, that one is gone, Arenanet took it out of rotation.

Even combo killer didn’t require a group. I got mine putting up Feedback bubbles or Null Fields around the foe and letting someone else get the killing blow through the field. Worked like a charm.

Uhm… so basically you used a two person team, yes? Which means that formal group or no, you did not do it solo.

I didn’t know it has been removed for not working correctly when I posted. But that does not take away the fact that they DID intend to have this for an achievement, and that while some classes may be able to solo this, others cannot. And that many do not even know what a combo is, let alone how to use it. Which makes the whole thing ill-conceived from the start.

First off, ignorance of something, such as not knowing what a combo is or how to use it, should never be a valid excuse for anything.

Second, the reason (presumably as I am not a Dev and can only make an observation through opinion) that things like Dodge and Combo Killer (before it was removed because of bugginess) was to give people a reason to learn the mechanics.
What’s your reward for learning the mechanic…a finished daily and Laurel.

Don’t worry Duke, they removed combo killer, and know that even if you found someone, you weren’t guaranteed to have the achievement (cause of a bug).
You should still try to complete the dailies.
Some are so faster than the old ones in my opinion, it’s a great gain of time for doing something else.
When I come back from work, I know I’ll just do Jormag for having the 5-7 events, the dodges, and the Vets, the gathring arround the area, and take 10 seconds crafting.

Exactly, and the 10 seconds of crafting only needs to be refining the ore/logs you gathered into bars/planks. You don’t even have to truly craft anyhing. Not a crafter, toss them right onto the tp or wait a week and have more for the tp.

Okay, my perspective.

Adding variety to the dailies is fine. I get that some people don’t like gather and others are in areas where 15 different types of mobs are nearly impossible to find. So adding some variety is fine.

Adding variety without allowing players to cherry pick those requirements that suit their play style, well, not so good. It’s my understanding that the developers were or are going to allow players a choice. In that case, implementation of the new daily requirement variety should have been held in abeyance until it could be completely implemented.

I disagree with those that insist everyone should learn something because they feel it’s worthwhile or important. A problem I see pervading our entire culture.

Allow people to play and enjoy the game as they choose. Provide options for those that wish to play the game a bit differently, but allow for those that enjoyed it as it was to choose that option.

I see no problem with providing a “pick any five” daily requirements and let people choose what appeals to them rather than painting them into a corner.

Just my $.02

Thanks for the new dailies, now when I see the “dodger” or “crafter” I know its time to take a break from this game, because I will not be doing them at all, Its annoying to dodge npc attacks and the game simply fails at that. I dont really want to farm the mats or spend gold to complete the crafter. I am not going to spend hours trying to get the killing blow with combo, I will not bother trying to do a combo skill with my friends because we dont have hours to spend trying to hit abilities after abilities in specific order. I hate underwater combat so Underwater Kills is a no go for me,

They wrote:

“We want to give you the freedom to play the content that interests you. The list will change daily to provide an array of options for earning your laurels. Pick what interests you, play, and be rewarded!”

Basicly you gave me the freedom of having an option not to play this game whenever the dailies suck balls.

Earlier the dailies simply accompanied my gameplay, now you made them a chore, and I do not play games to do chores.

ok, now I’m confused, why are these a chore, and the previous ones weren’t?

Previous ones could be done while leveling, while helping friends who just started this game, basicly the previous dailies completed themselves for me while I leveled or played the way I wanted to play this game, for the new ones I have to make a stop and take a left turn instead of right turn. The new ones? Been trying to dodge stupid attacks for an hour, most of the times I just dont recive any damage, but it seems like I am doing it wrong, because I dont see any message, I just dont get hit by attacks…

If previous “dailies” could be finished just by naturally leveling then there is no reason to be rewarded for them. Leveling is its own reward for …well, leveling.
Why should we be rewarded, other than obtaining the next level, for things that jsut fall in line with what we are already doing?
Kind of falls in line with this generations view of all the children who participate in a sport should get a trophy, not just the ones who put in the hard work to win.

I must say the new daily achie is a real disappointment.
Dodge…really? I prefer to die where I stand. Dodging is not my favourite thing to do. I do it sometimes but now I’m forced to get upclose and personal with the mobs just to finish my daily? Revive : another rather stupid choise. I’m a friendly guy. And I’ll help people when I meet them. Preferably before they get killed. But now I must first let them die and then I can rezz them. Hurray!

Dodging is one of the fundamental skills of GW2 combat, and a lot of people don’t know how to do it properly. This is why so many people complain about dungeons, etc. I can see how it’s really irritating for people who play mainly ranged though.

I didn’t like dodge when I first started playing, then I keybound dodge to my mouse wheel when I depress it :-) No more double direction clicking.

Edit: Again, You can revive NPCs as well. Also there’s plenty of events that people tend to die at and need reviving during….Maw comes to mind :-) The Giant event is a GREAT place to revive NPCs and Players for the daily achieve.
