it’s always great fun running the “nights”, and it’s definitely good when we can push back the “sea of green” even if it’s only temporary. I dont experience to much “bad behaviour”from SF, short of venturing onto the forums where it seems to be bad behaviour from all sides. Sure we get out numbered a lot but that’s to be expected, and at times it helps give a sense of “achievement” if we succeed in pushing back, holding off or even beating back something we never expected to win against. SM was fun to capture and great fun to hold while we still did, and as usual it’s always a good fight against the ever present CoSA.

Just to clarify, I am laughing about the people post bragging about it after crying about night-capping. I am impressed that you guys took it, SM is a HARD nut to crack. Especially with all the siege we had in there.

I have nothing but respect for our ET and FC opponents that fight it out no matter what. And the ones that take advantage of our zerging to capture less-contested points. And for banging on the walls of the keeps to prevent us from re-spawning closer to where the fight is taking place. (Except the hacker kid who was keeping the SF keep, he was doing things to get away that no normal toon does)

Thanks I love contesting points, and I also love when you guys sned your 5 person groups just to gank me, that’s 5 less people out of the zerg. Btw, can you descripe “the hacker kid”; it might be me just using skills and you didn’t know.

It also needs to be mentioned that we have first handedly seen SF significantly improve and gain numbers since they dropped here. All evidence in the history of switches between rankings in T8-T7 have shown that T8 is on par with, if not better than, T7.

Transfer servers to a lower tier. No queues. Small enough zergs that culling doesn’t have massive effects.

Just remember which server started it filthy. T8 never had problems in JP till the infamous sorrows dame along.

Yeah I agree a lot with he other guy who posted people didn’t want to team play with their pet and use only bows too often. I guess I’ve played only ranger too long I don’t know what it’s like to not only win 1v1’s (as in win 1v2’s as well). I don’t know why more people don’t make their own builds for ranger, they’re all pretty viable and a trap ranger is easy to beat if you just avoid the traps. I play a sword/axe axe/dagger with poison sigils on wep swap with canines and I find it pretty effective. idk what I’m talking about anymore.

Nite Crew Update.

Last nite (Monday evening Aussie time) BS was shocked to log in on a total of 3 camps under FC control. BS commanders managed to reclaim 200+ points off of SF. Thanks to all who joined the push and defend those points over nite. Hope you can join us again tonite to achieve the same.

I Unfortunately for my ego dueled Seven a couple days ago. Downed in 15 seconds, I felt pretty bad.

I’ve created threads about this a month ago stating that this matchup will never end, glad to know I could see the future. There are literally 5 threads in this subforum over this and if ANet doesn’t address it by the end of the week we can only assume they just don’t care, in which case we might have to send them a cake like the necro forum did.

If you want to be high evasion then you should definitely have a mainhand sword somewhere.. the 2 dodges are just insane.

Another solution would be for you guys to suck it up and take 2 weeks of unbalanced matchups as opposed to the 5th month straight for some of us.

Either way, you guys dropped multiple tiers because of this lack of player showing up. If you think it even matters, well, it doesn’t. The thing that matters is you had less people showing up to wvw when you dropped to T8 than you do now. It’s not balanced anymore.

naw by the time you rushed in it was probably a 2:1 ratio, maybe 3:2 ratio at best. we had 2 carts up and had aoe builds setup and you guys didnt stand a chance.

It really REALLY needs to be stressed that FC and ET do not have insanely smaller populations compared to other servers that many people believe simply because of the rankings and that SF is beating them bad. I’ve played on several servers, mostly FC, and honestly if anything FC has improved in numbers since it was competitive with Devonas Rest when they shot up the rankings.

Extremely, extremely annoyed at how once everyone goes to bed SF just caps literally everything, then gains the points for the remainder of the night even though NO ONE plays. kittening stupid, should be changed, honestly.

I once posted a thread for this same reason, and arena net responded that they were going to do something about the rankings. This most definitely led to the “ranking reset”. Well, that’s gone now, so what the hell do we do? I hope arena net actually does SOMETHING about Tier 8 soon because Ive waited too god kitten long to play in 2 weeks of balanced matches in ar ow.

So you want a teleport and a interupt? On what grounds does that make sense? Also rangers have no stealth and I agree you should be able to pick where to teleport too.

I see, thanks for the answers. I figured that there wouldn’t be a real way to take them down and I get annoyed by some 5 minute long fights with them since I just evade all their attacks, but I can’t slow them down enough for a pet burst due to their condi removal. I guess my thoughts were confirmed, so thanks again.

I dont know the meta builds but I assume a trap build uses all traps except the freeze one and has something like 0/30/30/0/10 (???) where they have max condition damage and throwable traps. I also assume bunker uses a ton of toughness and healing power and uses s/? and GS for the leaps with the water field heal.

I’m glad you find the simple truth of the matter entertaining.

I would love to have the matches you had with versus SF last month over the month of hell we had running the DB, Mag, Kain gauntlet. Having to fight tooth and nail to keep a relevant presence on the maps is what wvw is about.

What did YB have for our last few matchups? Losing absolutely everything we had daily, barely being able to hold our home garrison and EB keep during our peak, and not being able to take back anything for more than 10 minutes before a zerg 3-4x our size takes it right back. There was no other server to vulture off of, because they were doing this to both servers they faced.

And right now, with no reset, we would be facing Maguuma again next week when they get pushed out of T3. This is a cycle that is likely to keep happening with them or DB because they aren’t quite good enough for T3, but they are way too good for T4. Those situations are going to happen, and there isn’t anything to change that. But this is still better than having to deal with the train of domination from all the T1-3 servers getting pushed down to low tiers that so many other servers will have to endure.

For every bit of domination that FC had from Kaineng and Devona’s, Kaineng the same thing to everyone else in their wake. FC is not some lone stepchild left out in the cold, rankings and matchups have been chaotic and quite a few servers have suffered because of it.

Now let’s take look at the demon you’re painting SF to be. They have been pushed down from tier 6, because couldn’t hold their own in that tier. They could not hold their own in T7, either. So they got pushed down to your tier. Their road from T6 to T8 gave them beatings as bad as, if not worse, than what FC has suffered in the past months. They did well enough in T8 to barely secure first place, which appears to have gotten them some server transfers (perhaps even from your server). Now we’ve established that pre-tranfer SF was beaten down by the T7 servers, so the T7 servers are better than pre-tranfer SF. Pre-transfer SF was able to win over FC, so pre-transfer SF was better than FC. This means that T7 servers are better than FC, too (they beat the server that beat you). So if SF were to magically move up to T7 right now, FC would be facing Henge of Denravi, which has already proved they can best SF (before transfers). They are going to give you a beating, though it won’t be as bad as what SF is doing this week.

You claim that you will have to fight SF for another 8 weeks, but given their current score gap and rating, I find that hard to believe. They gained 50 points last week, and are doing a lot better this week, while HoD continues to lose rating. Next week, or the week after, they will overtake Henge of Denravi. You won’t win that fight, but it’s the most even matchup you’re going to get. This reset is just going to delay that even farther.

I play a ranger and have nearly mastered the class as far as I know. If you guys can link me to any threads regarding beating a Dagger/dagger Elementalist I would appreciate it, since I find them pretty tough to beat. Also disregard the fact that Im ranger and just explain how ANY class can beat you, thanks.

Do you even understand the rankings? BECAUSE the ranking system just had a fresh restart and there’s high volitility, SF will shoot straight down after Kaineng destroys them in a similar way that they’re destroying the other 2 servers in T8 currently. I predict it will take AT MOST 3 weeks to have mostly balanced matchup, followed by completely balanced match ups in the next 2 weeks for the remainder of GW’s lifespan. Not to mention that the rating system needed adjustments. This reset was so freaking needed for so many tiers yet all you can complain about is 2 weeks of discomfort and just shrugging it off when my server and ET have had several months (actually, since launch) of unbalanced matchups because of the old ratings.

Don’t even blame them for cheating. The real cheating is this extremely uneven matchup.

The reason is because you guys crush the other 2 servers although I’m not sure how you can’t find anyone since when I play I find too many. Also go join something like Anvil Rock, they have a decent size but not many queues.

We also try to stay away from ET although more often than not we get attacked anyway.

if I recall correctly, NM 15 is the trait that shares every boon you get with your pet. I find that really helpful when Im running warhorn, since it’s a 50% increase in swiftness and an extra stack of might to go with what should be 4 stacks already if traited right right (not to mention if you have any buddies that can blast into your bonfire).
Also I find BM 25 not very helpful, I usually run 5/0/30/15/20
