Hmmm, posted about two hours ago. So, that’s what…3:40something Pacific? That there is what we call nightcapping. Which happens when one server has a stronger night population than the other servers. All this means is that SF has more of a night crew than ET and FC. This is nothing new since we’ve arrived in Tier 8 and is by no means an indication that we’re a Kaineng situation. Come back during peak hours when the match is running at full cylinders.

Again, I’m not denying SF has a population advantage. But again, the idea that we’re just like Kaineng (i.e. getting a surge of transfers and throwing off the balance) is absolutely ludicrous. (Seriously, do you REALLY think FC would have been able to take over our Borderlands yesterday if our situation was JUST like Kaineng?)

lol I think you misunderstand what were saying. we’re saying you guys are becoming “like” Kaineng, it’s obvious that its not an utter domination, but to a FC player, a server with a high population is either Devona or Kaineng (you probably know why). And a server that has an extremely unbalanced night crew is especially familiar sounding to Kain and their SoS guild.

Bumping my own thread because we are now experiencing more fun in tied 8
Right now Sorrows Furnace is winning T8, and although it isn’t really a blow out it definitely isn’t as balanced as it could be. After next week, it is very apparent that Sorrow will win every week by around the same amount since there will be no transfers. Further, since they are not blowing out T8 like Devona and Kaineng did, they will NEVER (yes, literally never) move up to T7. Well that’s a problem, huh? Like I mentioned, it isn’t a blowout, however, despite Sorrow is very worthy of a T7 rank, they cannot and will not move up. That leaves T8 as basically the same matchup every week for AT LEAST the next 3 months. That’s right, Ferguson and Eredon probably won’t win a single match until summer because the Glicko system is so off balanced for T8 that it can’t match up the right teams.
Working as intended, right, ArenaNet?

They gave the notice of paid transfers almost 2 weeks in advance. Is that not enough time to get your guild back together? if not then its your guilds fault not anets.

Score update please!!! I got banned in Anvil Rock for inappropriate language as anyone back home in FC who knows me will not be surprised by this.

Really love the idea of making low server pops cheaper to transfer to! Very sweet, and I hope this fixes some of the WvW problems.

That’s why it’s upsetting when people say pets are useless (except in dungeons)

I play with this guy on AR right now and we have fun being the greater players in the game and all, it’s too bad anvil is full of mouth breathers.

Sounds insanely OP to me. if I could just use torch/GS and spec myself for pet damage and I could have that much might.. I feel like my pet would just do insane damage. If maul gets a blast finisher I think it may need a CD increase to at least 10s.
Perhaps that’s just me thinking since ranger is the only class I seriously play, perhaps I’m just too use to being UP.

I’ve tried some of the other pets and they are also hit and miss, so basically in WvW I don’t really pay much attention to what the pets off doing. When one dies bring out the next, once they are both dead my play changes not at all.

You guys have a 900 man guild SoS i believe, that has been in that server since day 1 am i correct? Now these major guilds transfer in and suddenly your all jumping tiers? Let’s do the connection here.

As the leader of SoS, let me tell you what happened.

1. Timezone coverage.
Sure, SoS is big, we can cover a lot. But most of us are Taiwanese, we have a life, and daily schedule. DR has a good EU timezone coverage that can easily take over all of our land and then be carried over during US prime time. This puts us a bad spot, and makes it almost as if working in WvW is just throwing money into a blackhole with no reward.

2. As Storm said.
We were just unfortunate that we faced DR in tier 8. After Kaineng got their first victory, and was about to go up the tiers, DR got a guild that countered us – PRO. Their coverage rendered our advantage useless. Thus every week is just like Kaineng get a head start, and let DR chase up the score.

3. We are NOT a WvW guild.
Yes, I have stressed this many times, over and over. We are NOT a WvW guild. We do WvW for guild events. Not actually putting it as first priority. In fact, we will be going for Temple of Balth in just 30 min, come join if you want

I laughed so hard at “makes it almost as if working in WvW is just throwing money into a blackhole with no reward.” Welcome to every server who’s ever faced your zerg guild’d world. I remember the first few weeks where you guys came out of your hiding hole in WvW and just remembering, “Hey, we’re winning tonight pretty well, I think I’m going to go to bed early so I can wake up early and take back the entirely red painted maps in the morning!” I also use to think in the early mornings of work that Kaineng probably controls every living thing in WvW up until about 11am my time. It’s funny really.

what I’ve learned on anvil rock is……

kaineng is just as bad as they were in T8.

For any server that has been in or watching the T8 scores you might easily notice how the bottom 2 servers are several hundred points behind the other servers. This was caused by the several month long matchup with Kaineng/Devona/Ferguson in which Devona had to absolutely obliterate the competition in order to move up 1 tier. Thus, while Devona gained little points every week, Kain and Fergs lost points every week. After Devona finally moved up, Kain stepped their game up (via transfers, SoS’s return, PvE recruitment etc) and additionally obliterated the competition. Well that’s just dandy for Eredon and Ferguson who are still several hundred points below the T7 scores. Also, if anyone believes that those scores are fair (I doubt anyone is stupid enough to think that, but), look at the scores that Eredon and Sorrow’s have put up immediately after falling to T8. They lost 200 points at least in their first week at T8, and Eredon lost up to 500 eventually I believe. Currently Sorrow’s Furance is losing (barely) to Fergusons, yet they will still be 120+ points ahead of Fergusons because of how insanely scewed the scores have been. You may think that in time this will auto adjust but its blatantly obvious that this will never happen. While Fergusons and Eredon may gain points from having a close match with Sorrow’s, the majority of the points are just being lost by Sorrows. This will eventually reach equilibrium in a couple weeks with all 3 servers probably having around 750 points (that’s 200 points below Henge of Denravi, bottom of T7, who are doing far worse than both ET and FC did against Kaineng). So that basically leaves T8 totally stuck as it is until some server in T7 does extremely bad or a server in T8 gets a flood of transfer, which I know everyone hates with a passion, and does extremely well.

I honestly don’t know a solution for this, but it definitely is not right. Perhaps ANet needs to put in some manual boost in points for Tier 8 so that its actually possible for a T8 server to catch a T7 server without needing a ridiculous matchup.

I know it has been said here many times already, but this week WvW has been a blast. SF and Ferg have shown to be worthy adversaries and really have come a long way from the mindless zerging. Glad to see tactics and teamwork on all sides.

Some of the best battles I have ever been in have occurred this week. A lot choke-holing going on and it has proven to be extremely effective.

Lol I dont think FC has done mindless zerging since week 2. On the other hand, I think you guys have improved a lot since that first night we ever played together (when you set everyone to take our stuff in EB without even thinking about defendinf)

Yeah and what about us who live in remote connections and it’s impossible to fix our internet connections because its the only one possibly available? Should I move just because of these features? I don’t think so; I think a timer would work perfectly.

been on this server since launch and I’ve hopped many many guilds who have transferred or died out etc. Just hope we can finally get some more people to play, even our fairweathers dont want to play since we get stomped so badly.

Best part is that they picked Kaineng, a server that was already obliterating T8. Way to go guys.

Actually Im pretty sure reinforcing/fortifying anything will repair both the gates and walls.

Another fun time with Kain… this time at Durios. Had a nice 5 person group defend against Kain’s insanely OP gate-autoattacking 25 person group for around 45 minutes.

I had a big laugh when Kain had something like 680, so me and 3/4 other people went to Langor in EB and started upgrading. We setup siege just waiting for the massive zerg of Kain. I was expecting around 10-15 people really. Wow was I surprised! You guys brought at least 25, likely 30. It was funny watching you guys fail at the gate, then setup 4 catapults instantly (at least 20 people ) and then have them all go down. It’s too bad we cant defend against siege on the keep walls, that’s the only way you guys couldve gotten in.

Don’t get overconfident. WvW is an unbalanced game as it relies on population. You can go from destroying one tier to getting crushed in the tier above it. I really doubt you guys would beat DR if you were to have a rematch next week.

Eh, we know this isn’t the case because of Devona’s recent move from T8. They were beating Kain and FC pretty badly, moved to T7, then beat T7 even harder than they did to T8. It’s pretty obvious that Kain would easily beat the T7 servers atm, and probably do well in T6 and them.

Point of emblems are to be significant in representing the guild, maybe you should just learn what emblems are associated with what guild. Of course you’re probably not on a server with only 6 guilds like me..

Yeah I beat another ranger on WvW the other day with the same weapon set. I felt kinda proud although I knew my build was terrible so I feel kinda bad for him (he wasn’t up leveled).

Just in case some of you still think the ranking system works well, look at Devonas rest.
They were in T8 for the past 3 months or so, and have been dominant for at leat 2 months. Kain and FC have played well enough that they couldn’t move up until last week, where Fkittenerally gave them the amount of points needed to move up. Now look at DR in T7. It’s not even close. DR is literally going from the bottom of T7 to the bottom of T6 in one week.
But you’re thinking it’s all fixed right? DR is finally moving like they should? nope not yet.
Now we have KN and FC stuck in T8 beating up on the previously T7 server and likely neither of them will go up (where they belong) for another month at least. Sure it may work out eventually… in a year after the populations have shifted and the real ranks are different again.

I hate that STAR thief who kept killing my dolys! Also I hate stealth when I lag that just sucks.

Went to EB to have fun with my guildies. Thought I had a 1v1 with an Envy thief, turns out ferg zerg was around the corner. I don’t mind the quick death, but this Charr Ranger from TTA, good job killing me in a 10v1, and then celebrating with a good old teabag. That kitten belongs in Halo. I’ll apologize on behalf of TTA, most of them are nice guys and I’m pretty sure none of them actually come on the forums. However I assume they’re just being happily stupid since we were running basically our last offense with you guys in EB last night. It’s especially fun I bet to rub it into a Dev’s face after being zerged, since there’s at least a 10:1 ratio of fergs being zerged than a dev being zerged

Not sure who was talking to you about transfering and joining PRO, wasnt me. I’ve talked to 2 guild leaders on both Ferg/Kain and we discussed them transfering to DR and/or joining PRO…neither was you or your guild. So dunno who was talking to you and please refrain from stating a “guild” want’s you when you’re talking to someone from a guild. Short of Phiz, the guild leader, talking to you about it, everyone else is a one v one conversation, not a guild v one. Understand?

I understand and it makes me abit disappointed. I thought PRO ran a tight organisation, especially since you’re only 8-10, but I guess not.

Anyway with Devona moving up and a dead server moving down we just don’t see the fun in staying in this tier and therefor are moving to EBay. I’d like to especially thank Envy, The Moobs, Chris [NP], TRx, CnB, KAIN, WAR, iSpy, AD, FIST, SoCo, Dark, RED, WP, EDGE and of course PRO for making this tier to what it’s been for us. I know I’m forgetting alot of guilds and individuals, these are just the ones that first comes in mind, so thank you all for the fun times.

LARP is by far my favorite guild to have ever walked the face of Fergusons crossing.

Lots of fun last night. But Jesus I’ve never realized the massive amounts of DR, I didn’t even think the map allowed for so much. I think all the DR guys in EB turned to FC specifically after our failed attempt to treb SM, taking away all your Kain fighting force. I didn’t realize til then just how far we are from ever winning.
