early:
wb missed you xoxoxois all tta coming with ?
Unfortunately TTA has semed to have died
Lukian plays no longer and there’s only a handful of people left in the guild. Hopefuly me and a couple of others can manage to come back (20g per transfer is really hard to do)
Sharks With Lazers [PEW]
People on FC don’t go to WvW because they gave up around the mid-Kaineng era, came back during the first 2 weeks of SF, and left once we realized it was the same thing all over again. The reason FC seems dead right now is because people are waiting on the server matchup to change.
also I’m coming back home soon, I hate t5
Sharks With Lazers [PEW]
Ive said this several times but Ill throw in my experience again. I main(ed) a ranger for the past 4 months and have just under 700 hours on it. I refuse to run the trap build since I find it should be nerfed imo, so I play more single target damage in a tanky/BM build. I’ve had tons and tons of trouble with mesmers in the past due to hitting he ranged skill cap about 3 months into playing it. So, in the past couple weeks I rolled a Mesmer to see how to counter it. I currently run a bunker style build on it as well, and when I used it I was insanely surprised at how easy it is to win because it is literally impossible to hurt me unless you do tons of ranged damage and condi stacks and do most of your damage with pets. So after about 75 hours on my new Mesmer (I’m already better with it than my 650 hour ranger) I still cannot defeat phantasm mesmers because of the insane pet damage and inability to hit the actual Mesmer. Additonally, even though I know exactly what the Mesmer is doing when playing my ranger, it makes absolutely no difference because of all the escape capabilities and MASSIVE phantasm damage. (There’s currently no way to dodge a zerker phantasm because the reflexes required needs super human capabilities and a 360 degree Fov) Thus I’m kittened easily by these mesmers even though I know EXACTLY where they are and what they’re doing. How is that fair?
Sharks With Lazers [PEW]
Hi I play bunker and my in game names are Andromooba and Mr Moobs. I’m interested so I’ll try to contact you when I can to see what we can do.
Sharks With Lazers [PEW]
The guardian symbol and temporal curtain have some sort of “tick” timer for when it should grant swiftness. Thus, if you run through it at the wrong time it won’t apply swiftness. I’m pretty sure this is the reason why you’re not stacking the duration.
Sharks With Lazers [PEW]
I don’t understand either. Which quest is CallMeWatrous talking about? Defending Shaemor?
Yes, seems like it.
Sharks With Lazers [PEW]
Yes I want to I to the server I hate more than anything. How did you know??
Sharks With Lazers [PEW]
Thanks for the response, but although there is a small chance we can transfer, there is no way we would go to T1, or probably anything above T4.
Sharks With Lazers [PEW]
Both of us enjoy playing tournaments in sPVP and doing small man/zerg busting whatever it may be in WvW. He mostly plays engi and I mostly play mesmer. We’d prefer a smaller guild with no more than 50 people. We don’t care so much about upgrades or guild missions atm.
also, if you don’t happen to be in a guild like this, I’d appreciate if you could refer me to any guild like this on Borlis Pass!
Sharks With Lazers [PEW]
One thing I miss from WoW that I would enjoy seeing in GW2, is the Gurubashi Arena.
Just a large open arena for players to drop down into, and once you fall in, you are instantly flagged for PvP and anyone and everyone can attack you. Would love to see this in GW2.
And just an FYI, we already have 2v2 Arena PvP.
Two Team Rated Play in PvP
t’s time to prove your skill! In this new type of competitive PvP, two teams of equal average rating are pitted against each other in a quick, intense match. The ratings for every member of each team is then adjusted after the match.
https://www.guildwars2.com/en/the-game/releases/february-2013/
lol if you’ve actually done that you’d know “2 team” doesn’t mean 2 players, it means 2 teams of 5 players each, only 1 round so you dont go against several teams consecutively.
Sharks With Lazers [PEW]
Use your pull skill and then prybar them followed by nades. It will absolutely destroy them and they can’t get away.
Sharks With Lazers [PEW]
I’m just saying that the mesmer has far more viable options and can be way more diverse than any other class, often without needing to change builds.
Sharks With Lazers [PEW]
Well I dont play much ele thief or engi but I know for sure no good ranger in the game will use a greatsword. Yeah I think the condition removal should be nerfed, though in this last fix the pet should die before it gets too out of hand (which makes it less viable to use)
Sharks With Lazers [PEW]
Well personally I don’t run a shatter build at all, I tend to run bunkers on almost every class. Also you think that mobility is better on a ranger? They have a 600 range leap back and 2 evasive attacks, and lightning reflexes on a 36s Cd if traited. My mesmer has a 24s 900 range stunbreaker that can teleport me anywhere I want and another teleport (AND STUNBREAKER) on my staff weapon skill.. Not to mention I have stuff like mass stealth if needed and a 3s stealth on a slot. I mean if you run a sword on mesmer then you can swap places with a clone at any point… sure rangers may have more “evades”, but mesmers DON’T GET HIT.
Sharks With Lazers [PEW]
Hi guys, Ill keep it simple.
I have 600 hours on a ranger, and I consider myself to be one of the best rangers around. Recently, I rolled a mesmer and got a build from a friend. At about 5 hours of play time, I far surpassed my skill as a ranger. Without even learning exactly what is going on, I’m already better than I was at 600 hours on another class.. I don’t think thats right.A wvsw player claiming to be “the best ranger around” this post is getting freakin’ hilarious …i know ppl with 1000+ hours of tpvp (Read again tpvp) and 250+ qpnts with the same class saying they’re not even close to be really good….just saying…funny thing is that all those “i’m the best [add class here]” usually get facerolled badly when facing someone just above a mediocre skill level in tpvp….
Whether you want to face it or not, wvw has more skilled players than tpvp does by far (in terms of average skill, completely opposite). The point of my post wasn’t really to brag but if you want me to “prove” it I’ll gladly do it. The thing is that mesmers just have so many abilities that rangers cannot have, such as projectile deflection without setting yourself up for automatic death (offhand axe on ranger), stealth, teleports, invulnerability, tons of confusion, mobility, tons and tons of team support that rangers can only dream of, and most importantly: a skill cap that’s above kittening 200 hours of play.
edit: also something I’ve never seen before til I rolled mesmer: boon removal
edit2: perma retalliation and chaos armor

ever thought that they dont take it because they cant take it?
Sharks With Lazers [PEW]
So the Asuran Cultural Armor tier 3 set seems to have changed since the patch. I’m not sure about all pieces, but the helm is definitely messed up.

This is a pretty big problem to people like my friend when we both spent forever getting the 20g for it, and just now it suddenly changed in a way that no one likes. Honestly it looks pretty ridiculous.
Sharks With Lazers [PEW]
Confirmed. My friend is freaking the hell out because of this, she really cares about that helm.

Please fix this asap Anet.. we were not very rich people and getting the 20g for just this helm which she now hates is really aggravating.

Sharks With Lazers [PEW]
Thread dropped all the way to page 4.
But yeah, as said tons of times before, we really need ANet to at least comment on this as to whether they’re going to do anything or just cower and wait until everyone in T8 has quit.
Sharks With Lazers [PEW]
I don’t know how you guys stay on these servers. Not bashing just props and genuine curiosity.
Fighting SF for the past month or two and Kain before that, I’ve come to expect that we may never have the numbers. We may face opposition of 50-60 in all BL. Does that mean we will back down? Does that mean we will simply wait and watch everything be taken? Not a chance, not a chance at all my friends. What this means is that we just pack extra arrows and spare swords. We are Eredon Terrace.
Be glad you didn’t have to deal with Devona too!
Sharks With Lazers [PEW]
And how did you come up with that wonderful assumption? The rankings told you? Learn about you’re kitteninf talking about before you say it. I’m done here.
Sharks With Lazers [PEW]
TL;DR translation = we want to ride the bandwagon like everyone else.
..What are you talking about? Who did we bandwagon with? As far as I knew there were no other transfers to BP at this time. (keywords: as far as I knew)
Not sure if you’re being sarcastic or anything, but every single one of those reasons except 6 are valid reasons that have nothing to do with bandwagon.
Sharks With Lazers [PEW]
I’ve stated what our state of thought was but I’ll list the reasons we chose BP in the end.
1) biggest reason, only 1000 gems to transfer instead of 1800 for the other 2
2) Anvil was put under a bad light due to something like a poem about how bad they are
3) I’ve visited Anvil prior to the paid transfer deadline and disliked it. This and 2 basically ruled out AR completely
4) we were confronted by several BP guild leaders and commanders who encouraged us to come
5) likewise, we were not approached at all by NSP, our leader assumed they don’t really care for us coming there
6) a rather selfish reason but, since FC has not been green since week 2, many of us only needed green POIs for map completion. BP was green.
7) we want to fight Envy
Sharks With Lazers [PEW]
Wish we could be cut some slack here… I’m already upset I had to leave MY server. I don’t want to unbalance this match and just last week it seemed every server was completely even, so it wouldn’t matter which one we picked.
Sharks With Lazers [PEW]
We were also told there wouldn’t be much room for small man teams on NSP and Lukian ruled out AR pretty fast. Honestly, the deciding factor was that BP was the only one of the 3 servers with a “High” population; that’s a 15g discount per person.
Sharks With Lazers [PEW]
I doubt the 10 people that transferred are going to make a massive difference; although i was very upset when I played T6 yesterday and saw that green had such a large potential… Only this time I’m part of it. However blame yourselves, our guild leader went to the T6 thread and asked which server would be best and BP opened up and many guild leaders spoke to us. Now we’re even using the server wide TS
Sharks With Lazers [PEW]
(edited by Darek.1836)
Don’t worry lableu you’ll get tired after 5 months in a row of this as well
Sharks With Lazers [PEW]
TTA is in Borlis and WZ is not doing well either.. almost everyone in FC has had their morale completely obliterated. In fact, after I transferred and went to WvW, I was whispered by several friends who were asking why I would waste my time in WvW for the t8 matchup before I explained that I moved.
Sharks With Lazers [PEW]
I’d like to preface this by telling you how very sorry I am that your mentors were taken so early. I truly am. That said, this theory doesn’t mean much to me. I know full well that Tybalt is still alive.
The Battle for Claw Island was a maelstrom of chaos and death. Everywhere I saw young Lionguards falling victim to the wickedness of the Risen. All seemed hopeless, and there was nothing to do but flee for our lives. Reaching the gates, a wave of Risen beasts assailed us, but the brave Lightbringer Tybalt Leftpaw shut himself inside the fortress with the beasts, buying us the time to escape.
There I stood, horrified, trapped beyond the gates of Claw Island fortress with an impassable barrier between me and the monstrous Risen, but also between me and my dear friend. On the mini map, a small skull and crossbones taunted me from the courtyard, marking the spot where his body had fallen. The only epitaph that my partner would ever receive.
But what do we say to the god of death?
Ignoring Traehearne’s pleas for us to escape to the ships I jumped at the doors, seeking a way to scale the walls. It was futile, and I knew that, but to surrender would condemn Tybalt Leftpaw to a final, awful grave. Turning into the brush I ran around the fortress, weaving my way through trees and bushes and swimming through the murky, dead infested harbor of the island until, at last, I found what I sought. The dry beach awaited me on the north end of the island, and there, I saw the bestial dragon that had driven us from any chance we had at victory. Traehearne followed behind me, still carrying our wounded ally, still requesting that we take our leave. But no one would be left behind today.
Mustering my courage, I ran between the dragon’s legs, sprinting full tilt into the courtyard where Tybalt had fallen. The dragon’s breath consumed me, filled me with a sense of dread the likes I had never felt, and I was compelled to flee. Fortunately, my wayward legs carried me directly into the courtyard, away from the dragon’s wrath. Unfortunately, they guided me into a horde of Risen mongrels. I took up arms, fighting for my very life. Many times I found myself on the ground, but each time I rallied myself and rejoined the fight. Traehearne proved useless, but he had his arms full carrying our ally, whom he had brought for some unknowable reason. I fought my way to Tybalt’s body, the crowd of Risen that had battered him to the ground standing at the gates, most likely attempting to break through. I took my chance as their backs were turned.
A trap, most likely. As I knelt to revive my fallen friend, the Risen turned and attacked. There were over a dozen of them, many more than there had appeared to be, as though the creatures had somehow been standing in the same place, obscuring each other. They fell upon Traehearne and I, forcing us to fall back until they gave up the chase. We managed to dispatch only two of the powerful foes, and many more remained. Guerilla tactics became necessary, and we would run forward to draw out a few of the Risen guards, killing one or two when we could and falling back before the others could retaliate. It took nearly a full half hour, but finally the last of the Risen fell dead at my feet.
I rushed to Tybalt’s side. At last, the time had come to revive my friend. Working quickly, I mended his terrible wounds and helped him to his feet. He would not move from his spot. He did not even have anything to say to me, as though he were never meant to say anything more at all. He simply stood there, staring grimly at the mass of Risen behind us. I knew what had to be done. I cut a path back through the Risen, the same tactics necessary to avoid being overrun by the Horde. Soon, however, there was a clear path between Tybalt and the bay, through which we could escape. Still, however, he did not move. He stayed in place, certainly not wanting the others to see him.
There are few ways to leave the Order of Whispers. Perhaps Tybalt wished for a simpler life. Perhaps he merely did not want the others to know that he had survived his hero’s sacrifice, and indeed, the others spoke of him from that day on as though he had fallen. But I knew, and certainly Traehearne knew as well, though he never once told a soul. Somewhere, on some faraway beach, an appletini in one hand and a smile on his face, Tybalt Leftpaw sits staring at the sea, basking in freedom, remembering the days we fought together. Oftentimes I think of him, and I’m sure he thinks of me. Even though no words were shared, I know he was grateful. Some stories, even the simplest ones, simply can’t end sooner than they’re meant to.
So what do we say to the god of death?
An apple a day keeps Grenth away.
I cried.

ANet doesn’t look at those forums, threads have been up for
a month now.
Sharks With Lazers [PEW]
Hi guys Im done. Moving to Borlis Pass sometime this week. Check my post in the Suggestions subforum in the T8 attention thread.
Sharks With Lazers [PEW]
Hey guys,
I’ve been pretty vocal about this issue since it started over a month ago and I haven’t seen any improvements yet. I did receive one response from ANet which no doubt resulted in the Rankings Reset; however, this obviously failed. I’ve been on Ferguson’s Crossing since the headstart and I’ve always felt that I have some sort of loyalty to this server. I really never gave up during the Devona stomping followed by the Kaineng stomping followed by the Sorrow’s stomping.. up until now at least. With much neglect from ANet recently I have almost completely given up on my favorite part of the game, WvW. Now unfortunately I just can’t take it anymore, with this kittenty matchup which seems like it will never end despite the entire server completely giving in to just let Sorrows move up. I honestly love Fergs and I’ve been in world vs world there almost every day since launch.. I’m sure a lot of the people there care about me too (at least the ones who played more than 2 weeks ago before I just couldn’t find the will power to do it). The worst part is is how much I’ve bashed on guilds for leaving us.. and at that I have to say I’m finally gonna leave this tier in hope of something better. The remainder of TTA is likely to come as well.. to Borlis Pass in Tier6, currently the most even matchup in the game.
I really wish it didn’t have to come to this; I really didn’t want to leave, but ANet gave me no choice. I don’t know why they had to just sit and watch this happen..
Also for reference.. the thread I brought up about this about 40 days ago:

Sharks With Lazers [PEW]
(edited by Darek.1836)
Don’t think transfers will solve the problem. The real problem is he artificial ratings that T8 have been given which are at least 300 points off.
Sharks With Lazers [PEW]
I think there’s a higher chance of a Dev seeing this thread in the Suggestion subforum. The thread was already in the WvW forum for a week or 2 and that got us no where.
Sharks With Lazers [PEW]
I’m going to make a somewhat different post than most of what I’ve seen on here. As a casual WvW Player on SF, I have to say “Way to go Eredon Terrace! Stomp that Ferg Zerg!”. It’s honestly very refreshing to see you guys fighting back more the past week or so and this weekend was a great fight! I enjoyed the challenge and it started feeling more like you guys woke up and FC went back to rolling over and dying. But like I said, “casual wvw player”, I’m not nearly as hardcore as some others on here.
Last night on FC BL you guys steamrolled our attack on the western keep by rolling over the camp behind our offensive and then destroying our assault. This highlights two things. Firstly, Sorrow’s Furnace players need to pay attention to chat and coordinate and respond to immediate threats….. Secondly, ET is gettin tactical! :P
As much as I’d love to move out of T8 and go have some fresh blood to spill, I’m very content with ET and FC stepping up a bit and giving our mindless zerg a thrashing. Just because we outnumber you, doesn’t mean you can’t still do a bit of tricky maneuvering and put us in our place.
SF’s ego is about as inflated as it’s score against FC and ET and we could all benefit from a more challenging fight.
No offense but if you weren’t as casual you’d know that we had been doing that the past month, we’re just very tired of it at this point.
Sharks With Lazers [PEW]
For all wondering, the Tier 8 needs attention thread was moved to the Suggestion forum under the lovely command of C.C. Eva. Thank you!
Sharks With Lazers [PEW]
If you manage to kill the pet without me swapping it first, the fight is over. That is how simple it is and how dependent we are on it, so if you want to make it so much easier to kill a ranger go ahead and do that.
Sharks With Lazers [PEW]
You might as well include the tier8 ranking problems.
Sharks With Lazers [PEW]
In pretty sure your matchups weren’t indefinitely long.
Sharks With Lazers [PEW]
Might as well chime in that after 5 months of playing (not saving) mostly WvW, I finally scrapped up one CA3 helm piece for my gf. I’m not sure if it’s suppose to take this long or if ANet thinks I should waste my time “grinding” dungeons to make money, but I thought they didn’t like that.
Sharks With Lazers [PEW]
I’m interested in that low level tourny or maybe just normal duels between servers. I’ll contact whoever mentioned it later today.
Sharks With Lazers [PEW]
Coming from an experienced and decently good ranger, trap builds are definitely, without a doubt, OP. Anyone who says otherwise is delusional.
Sharks With Lazers [PEW]
Well actually ET got here fair and square as they lost to every tier, though they have probably improved. FC on the other hand played in t7 one week again servers that went up to T6 then was stuck in T8 and eventually got dug into a hole by DR’s and KN’s rise, and even furthermore by SF. This basically brought ET down with us since they did similar to us, unfortunately.
Sharks With Lazers [PEW]
T8 has improved in a very similar way. We WERE competitive for a while until the insane amounts of population increase SF got. All servers improve and you must realize it is definitely not solely T7 who has. However I agree SF has become increasingly stupid since they became the zergball and I think DH may give them a problem, but the rest of T7 will probably be left behind.
Also I’m still willing to bet HoD would lose in T8 to FC, and I don’t compare SF to Kain, I compare them to Devona.
Sharks With Lazers [PEW]
What I want to know is why ET and FC are so desperate to fight other servers in their current state. As you go up in tiers in the current system, each tier is exponentially harder than the one below it. There are even large discrepancies in power and coverage within tiers that are fairly stable. That is to say if ET or FC eventually did beat SF consistently and move up a tier, they would be back to being crushed in their current state. Even if SF got the points to move up, they would probably be crushed in the tier above them.
What ET and FC are calling for is basically a full server population reroll so that they can have a fighting chance, not a point reset.
You’re at the bottom right now for a reason. It’s not going to change with a point reset unless you’re actively recruiting large guilds before the reset.
It’s frustrating, but there will always be a last place, just as there will always be a first place and a middle.
I don’t undertand. Where are you coming with the terribly ignorant assumptions that SF wouldn’t win T7 at least? All history of T8 to T7 jumps point to the fact that T7 is no better if not worse than t8
Sharks With Lazers [PEW]
According to you, everyone in t8 is better than t7. Then please explain how you lose to original t7 servers like Sorrow’s Furnace?
Im not saying SF wont win t7, they probably have high chances to do so. But you expect a Devona scoreline? You realise Sorrow’s Furnace was an opponent of DR, as was HoD which at the time was in freefall. Hardly a competitive matchup, so DRs score was heavily inflated.
The rating system is flawed i agree, and Sorrow’s furnace do not beling in t8 without a doubt. but you completely overestimate them if you assume that they belong in t5/t6 simply because you lose to them.
The only assumption you can make based on evidence is they dont belong in t8.
Well the explanation is quite simple.. as everyone here without a doubt believes they got many transfers or people to return to WvW. Basically their population in wvw doubled and maybe tripled. Maybe you’re right about why Devona stomped T7, but I still expect similar results.
Sharks With Lazers [PEW]
I’m not comparing them to Kaineng, I’m comparing them to Devona. They did receieve transfers. They did regain fairweathers and PVE’rs. I did play T6 for a while on Anvil Rock. I am willing to bet you 100$ that Sorrow’s will easily handle T7 if and ever they move up there, if they move soon. Obviously they may not if it’s in 3 months and half the server left because it’s boring.
Sorrow’s Furnace will actually fit in well with T7. Youre overestimating them if you think they’ll beat T7 easily.
You cant compare them to DR when they finally escaped T8. Because DR was tripling their opponents scores, not just doubling. And they were required to do this for several consecutive weeks.
Posted this before but:
Score of T8 last week of SF/FC/ET respectively:
367 740
124 160
110 643
Score of T8 several months ago, the last matchup with devona in T8, DR/FC/KN respectively:
378 482
124 955
109 725
T7 against Devona next week:
41 437
39 949
532 158
Seems pretty freakin’ obvious to me. There is no other comparison except for how FC beat SF when they first came here and how T8 did better against Kaineng than T7 did.
