So since we are not allowed to “discuss” ANET’s screw up – what are we supposed to do create our own website for the venting? I would think having us here where they could see what is said would be better then having it aired publicly.
I’m sure they want you to keep posting here, I have had 4 or 5 of my posts moderated from this thread, I don’t feel I was particular insulting in fact I would say I wasn’t insulting at all and the comments I made were related and on topic to what is going on here but ok I don’t care as long as I get my account back.
For venting I guess a new thread could be created? I don’t know if it is allowed but if it was then surely posts won’t be moderated there when I say that I find this whole mess to be the work of someone incompetent.
EDIT: Either way I will be leaving the forums until tomorrow unless I get an e-mail where I have been given my rightful account back. Good luck to everyone waiting!

I read that they cannot elaborate too much on this because they don’t want to reveal their hand to the real botters. avoiding bot heavy zones is one of the few that was mentioned. Not ideal at all but that’s what we got and have to deal with it.
Indeed thats what I read as well, they can’t talk about this issue because it would be helping the real botters. What we have been told is to keep away from areas which bots frequent (basically all high lvl zones….and some low lvl ones…) that to me is not acceptable as it would mean we are being deprived of content so we can avoid getting banned.
P.S. I am not QQ or lashing out in this post. I am just giving my opinion and although I feel that the reason for why they can’t reveal the information to be a good one, I don’t agree with the options we are presented with.

Regarding the false bans there are things that worry me, apart from obviously worrying if I will ever see my account restored to me there is also the issue that people are ~still~ getting banned. They need to stop banning ASAP and focus on fixing whatever is cause of these false bans!

i got hit when i woke up and started playing roughly 3 hours ago, man it does kind of suck though, maybe they should have done a better job with their automated bot banner ^^
There are two ways to better deal with getting rid of the bots.
1. Do not allow players to trade/send gold to each other.
This probably will piss off some players.2. Make gold easier to obtain.
Probably hurt NCSoft’s $$$ income, so I’m sure that’s not an option.
It’s not that simple though, for #1. The transaction could be done via different methods, like putting a crap item on TP for a ridiculous amount and then the gold seller would buy that item for the agreed gold amount.
#2: Even if a-net made gold easier to obtain there is a big problem in doing so, inflation. If everyone has a lot of gold then the price for rare thing on TP would sky rocket even further since gold would lose value.

Right there with you. I can honestly say I haven’t had any issues with this game or ANet since purchasing it in September, but I’m starting to feel a bit jaded. Let’s be honest, they are clearly not working as hard on this issue as they should be, or this thread wouldn’t be full of angry and disappointed customers having the same problems over the course of several days.

I was banned for “botting” on the 10th of november (now 13th in the UK).
All I was doing was gathering Ori with 2 other guild mates and got banned.

Well I don’t know for certain that they aren’t considering it an issue, they could very well be dealing with it in the dark….however the fact that people continue to get banned makes me think they aren’t dealing with it because if I was in their shoes and I knew of such a thing happening I would 1st stop the banning and THEN work on getting it fixed. If they are trying to fix it but have decided to start with the latter then it only further makes me believe that this is all due to their incompetence.

Good news. I have recieved a reply after 2.5 days. I am still banned but it looks like someone is working on it.
From what I’ve read here and from my experience it seems 2-3 days is when they reply with their bot response (ironic since we got banned for…“botting”)

So i’m guessing i’m no the only one who got banned randomly in the Kessex Hills? Any body else for supposed quote “Botting, extended unattended play, using macros, or similar behavior. Attempting to automate gameplay through any means or attempting to circumvent idle-time restrictions….” yada yada yada?
I think that everyone in Kessex Hills on SBI got banned lol, I know all the members in my guild that were there ARE BANNED, we were in mumble.
Well I was on the Tarnished Coast…so yea I didn’t know it was going to be like multi server wide
It’s interesting that you say server wide….when I was banned I remember a lot of Sanctum of Rall players come here and complain at around the same time. If they are doing this server by server than we can expect a lot more innocents here soon unless they fix this…

Gaile, thank you for responding to my other post. I feel like my question was not addressed.
The issue i was trying to make known or to have help understanding is, if i am questing in these so called Bot hotspots areas, ie.. Frostgorge, Ore, Human areas for heart quests/ or gathering mats for crafting,
plus:
if i have a couple guild mates with me for help on the heart quests, how do i have any guarantee i will not be perma banned!As of right now i know i am not the only person who feels unsafe to play the game as is intended.
Gaile could you please address this issue.. thank you.
Having guildies with you won’t stop them from banning…I was banned and I had 2 others with me. Thankfully they didn’t get banned but as you can see it won’t guarantee anything.

Wish I had someone to wait this out with…my boyfriend is still happily running around in-game. Guess he didn’t get caught by the banhammer because he’s more than 50 levels below me, wears generic-coloured armour, plays warrior class, didn’t do any of the Halloween events, and never uses the trading post. Sarcasm but not joking, unfortunately.
That’s irony if I ever saw it, is he called “tyujdkf” xD
I’m joking of course but it might be better for him to avoid Orr as he levels just in case….Hahaha, actually, that’s the only part of his botter appearance that’s missing. He has one of those clearly fantasy usernames that he’s been using since he started WoW years back.
He’s been reading up on all of us angry people who have been permabanned for nothing, and has his mind pretty much made up that he’s avoiding Cursed Shore once he hits level 80. That’s going to be tough, seeing that a lot of the story quests are in there. What irony indeed.
Unfortunately it seems other areas aren’t safe either now….best stay in LA to be completely safe since bots don’t enter there :P
My goodness, imagine playing all of GW2 in Lion’s Arch. Dynamic Quest idea: run from Mystic Forge to the Asura Gates and back again. Over and over again! Not particularly dynamic, now is that.
This heavy sarcasm isn’t directed at you, it’s just that I’m terribly irritated with the fact that the only real action that I can take is to chainsmoke my last few cigarettes, sit like a useless lump and wait for a support email that may never arrive. Of course, perhaps it’s safer this way, because if there were a phone number to call, I would probably be yelling myself blue in the face at this moment to some poor customer support guy.
Yeah I was pretty angry not too long ago…then you guys came along and I had a bit of a laugh so thank you for that.

But, they don’t have one.NCSoft has a customer service line. I called them yesterday they were actually pretty helpful, no waiting time either.

Wish I had someone to wait this out with…my boyfriend is still happily running around in-game. Guess he didn’t get caught by the banhammer because he’s more than 50 levels below me, wears generic-coloured armour, plays warrior class, didn’t do any of the Halloween events, and never uses the trading post. Sarcasm but not joking, unfortunately.
That’s irony if I ever saw it, is he called “tyujdkf” xD
I’m joking of course but it might be better for him to avoid Orr as he levels just in case….Hahaha, actually, that’s the only part of his botter appearance that’s missing. He has one of those clearly fantasy usernames that he’s been using since he started WoW years back.
He’s been reading up on all of us angry people who have been permabanned for nothing, and has his mind pretty much made up that he’s avoiding Cursed Shore once he hits level 80. That’s going to be tough, seeing that a lot of the story quests are in there. What irony indeed.
Unfortunately it seems other areas aren’t safe either now….best stay in LA to be completely safe since bots don’t enter there :P

Wierd stuff
I checked to see if i can get in like one guy suggested cause he never got reply back but got his account back up
I got in
I open map and go to the waypoint
I open inventory and notice all my gold is still there
I get a black screen
Try to get back in
I get the ban message againadded
subject in support changed from blocked to hacked account
Tried it just now myself but still got the “You are a bot” message, hopefully this will be an improvement for you since you won’t be treated as a criminal any more but as a victim of being hacked. I’m sure you will get your account back

Few minutes ago I was kicked out for behaviour and next perma banned. Didnt expect something like that. Played happily for about 30 minutes. What should I do now? Submited ticked but i see it will take days. Please advise. Should I forget about gw2?

Best you can do is wait for someone to review your ticket….unfortunately this brings about a serious issue, banning innocent people are STILL happening, which makes me worried that if I do get my account back what prevents them to banning us again? By the way u was faster then AN censorship on this forum because my post was deleted by AN in an instant but u still was able to answer it. I can answer your question how to be banned by AN. U should about now enter GW2 and for 10-20 minutes really fast press keys in AN monitored areas (higher gold income areas with better loot). I was using 1.2.3 keys really rapidly like playing piano and I think it caused my permaban.

Regarding the wait, there have been cases of people given their accounts back after a few days. IF you are lucky the support team will review you ticket and clear you, if you find yourself without a response after 3 days there is another thread here where you can post. So I am feeling my anger overwhelm me here, and that is never a good thing.
So everyone who is having these. What other games you play? It is time to start looking at a new game, I have d3, sc2, but I can reactivate my wow, starwars, and eve accounts.
But have no problem buying a new game if we can get a following.
I could jump into GW1 but I am so mad at NCSoft I do not want to even think about that one..Anyways If yall are up for it we can form a NCSoft Botters guild somewhere.
Ideas?

In other news I hate to admit it but LadyFreeze (My Wife) was right I should not have cancelled Wow for GW2. But SHHHH do not let her know She was right.
You made the right decision by switching WoW for GW2….at least that’s what I would have said a few days back. I still love the game but this kind of support ruins everything.

Awesome, message deleted again, this time without any reason. You deserve what’s coming from your pissed off customers, ANet. Just take it like a man and let us vent -.- You have no idea how irritating and offensive it is to get banned for something you look down upon, when you have exhibited nothing resembling that sort of behavior (in this case, botting/using third party programs). And it’s even more irritating that while legitimate players like me are wrongfully banned, bots and other third-party program users are running around freely inside the game. Great job!

Showing that knowing people are here complaining about being banned with false claims. Do they really think I would tell friends to play this game? I would tell them to try another as this one risks you getting banned with false insulting accusations and with no reply from customer service for days.
I lol’d a bit when I saw it. there is no way in HELL that I would recommend this game to a friend even though I’ve defended this game many times for its “lack of end-game”, “boring gameplay”, etc.
Don’t get me wrong I still love the game I certainly wouldn’t be having such a hard time accepting that they are accusing me of something I have never done if I didn’t but this support is one of the, if not the worst support I have encountered.

To the people up top who spoke of rubber banding I also had this problem but I also had about an hour of lag(frequent stops for a second or two on screen and then the damage would appear all at the same time also delays in my attacks in general), which at first I thought was my network, but was not the case since everything worked fine outside of the game. Anyways, towards the end of the hour I rubber banded twice in Cursed Shore while trying to leave the Shelter camp to go into the event, I eventually got out and started doing the event and got banned maybe 2 minutes after that. Hopefully everything will be resolved by the time the Lost Shores event rolls around at the end of this week wouldn’t want to miss the one time event.
So it’s happened to at least 4 people that got banned just before they got banned….are you guys being accused of “botting” also? or is it the “fraud” issue?
