Why is every female toon D+ size, it as if flat are non existing.
Flat isn’t non-existing (Yes there is a flat option guys :P) like it’s been said, a lot of female characters you see are played by guys and we prefer the more…busty characters but hey, can you blame us? If you feel there are too many busty characters roll a flat one, nothing is stopping you.
P.S. I have 8 chars, 4 males and 4 females and is it just me or is there not enough skimpy clothes for the medium armour?
Why don’t these people that seem to be “leaving” (I have wrote it this way because they haven’t left at all….at least on the forums, after all they have no problems flooding this thread with hate despite no longer playing) because they can’t find enough people to do dungeons or areas join up? there seems to be enough of you to from 2 or 3 groups, or better yet find a big guild, I haven’t had any problems finding people to do dungeons because there’s always a ton of people on in my guild.
He’s obviously a troll or a sore loser that lost to a warrior, how he can say warriors require no strategy is beyond me. Also no we don’t “tank” and do the most damage, if we spec to “tank” and i use this word very loosely, we will do less damage and the opposite applies as well.
It was a big red flag to me when the devs shotgun’d the LB nerf and didnt even take the time to test and see that the DPS was lower than SB after…. It has taken players testing it. THAT is annoying. Is it our job to make this game better? The nerf was quick…lets see how long it takes to buff the LB again…or even worse nerf SB.
It’s sad but I have to agree with you on that one, so disappointed they nerfed LB and I really hope they won’t nerf the SB….that would be death imo
Ill make this short. I am in the same boat and played well into all classes except elem/necro.
You can’t do that right now. Its going to fail. Why? All classes are “broken” in some way shape or form and right now for the most part all they are doing is fixing bugs or nerfing. Which makes it more frustrating because buffs and class balancing are needed too. From what im seeing most classes are pigeon holed into 1-2 cookie cutter builds and you are forced to settle. Any class you play is going to have their “huge issues”.
Me for example… I’m shelving my 80 ranger until either longbow or beastmaster become actually viable. Right now LB is underwhelming and boring vs sb.
Also 80 content is garbage.
Sounds to me like you just don’t like the game, which makes me wonder why you’re playing. There are more than 1-2 builds in the professions and you aren’t forced to do anything or go into a specific build, why don’t you try experimenting different ones.
To the OP, so far I’ve been sort of going melee with my ranger and switching to ranged for tougher fights or when I’m struggling. Also a mesmer will/can look like any other light armor profession…..it depends on what gear you equip.
Female Sylvari use the male armour models, that’s why it looks so drastically different.
Yeah what he said, except he meant asura not sylvari :P
I personally think it looks alright but then again you cant really tell the two gender apart if they stand next to each other with the same gear :S

I know what u mean by female norn just being tall women with otherwise minimal differences, but I think (MOST) ppl make a female toon to make them beautiful, not a massive, hulk build freak. I mean, look how many female asura and charr are around lol. Not many at all. Yet when u pass a human female, sylv, or norn, she is always lovely. You never get ppl making wrinkly/old/scarred women. I am not defending the devs choice in how the female norn is modeled, just pointing out why it may be so =)
I agree with you except on the female asura, I’ve seen quite a few of them o.o but yeah not many female charr precisely because you can’t make it beautiful or cute. Having said that there should be more “bulkier” builds in ALL races for people that would like to make them, personally that’s not what i would go for on most of my characters but there should be more to choose from.
I’m still new to this game but no noob to MMORPG’s, have been gaming since I was a toddler, probably been a game for about 15-16 years now. I consider myself pretty good at dodging I do it all the time and try to safe it for the moves that I know would cause the most damage to me. Started out as a elementalist and necromancer, both of which I thought were too squishy when playing solo, I recall having to play very tactically and plan things really well in order to take on a small group of monsters my level.
Then I made a warrior recently and while I’m loving how much better he is I don’t think it’s fair at all. Obviously I can tank far more damage but with the greatsword I’m doing such an insane amount of damage to multiple units that it makes my DPS on the other two characters look awful. I don’t need to plan my attack or anything with this guy, I can charge in there against a group of monsters higher level than me, buff myself out with power skills, use #2 and take them all out quick and with ease. I have used the hammer, shield and mace, and just about every other combination of weapons to find the ones I like the most and I thought Hammer was pretty cool because I could interrupt abilities and keep the enemy knocked down, and shield + mace for it’s constant stunning but ever since trying the greatsword I don’t feel a need to do such things, at least in low level PvE.
Far easier to play than Necromancer and Elementalist I find. Then again I’m still new to this game and haven’t tried every build in PvE or PvP.
I’m thinking I’ll switch back to one of the two because I find those classes more interesting to play and hope that ANet show’s them some love. Probably go necromancer.
Yes at lower levels you wont really have to think a lot because mobs fight in a really straight forward manner but keep playing and you’ll see that change quite quickly in higher level areas.

I really don’t see anything overpowered, just a good player sometimes winning and sometimes losing. Is a profession not supposed to be able to beat others at all? No one gets one shotted, and if a warrior plays pure glass cannon, he will die if you sneeze at him.. if he uses frenzy then he will die 50% faster than a sneeze.
Health + heavy armor != survivability.
That’s why guardians, with the lowest possible health pool, have far more survivability than the warrior will ever have.
Well said, i don’t see it being overpowered either as you could see he won and he lost, also he wasn’t 1-shotting like people like to say.
Regarding the survivability, well said again. People need to realise that just because they have heavy armor and a good amount of health it doesn’t mean they can tank…they need to spec themselves to be more “tankish” it certainly wont appear out of nowhere if all you do is go for attack
Yep the male norns are disproportional and i think that’s makes them fun, regarding the female they are supposed to be bulkier but i guess not a lot of people would play that type of character? idk but either way i like them both how they are.
I actually agree, this is something that hit me after creating a character with all races. Human males just seem kind of goofy and unnatural when they run (with 1 hand weapons, i found them more bearable when wielding a 2 handed weapon instead)

I actually don’t understand why people say he’s dying too much. Maybe it’s because I played a Warrior, but he almost never died for me. (Likewise, I almost never died…)
Dying is the one thing Trahearne didn’t do for me. I say keeping him alive is something we SHOULDN’T be asking for!
I also play as a warrior and if i happen to not be attacking the same mob as him, he dies. If he didn’t die for you congrats but I think 90% of people here will agree with me that he is useless in combat by himself.
Well i wont be adding anything new with my comment as some people have already said it perfectly but i feel like i should comment anyway.
To start off he takes over our personal story (not saying we should be the chosen unbeatable hero, just that the story is no longer about us, its about him and his wyld hunt), he has no character development and appears out of no where (that’s right NONE and i appreciate that sylvari get to meet him earlier but it still feels rushed and it doesn’t help other races), he has horrid…horrid voice acting (really horrid is a compliment here since its really that poor. No emotion, no enthusiasm, no anything) and lets face it he really just looks like a walking vegetable and fight like one too since i’d wind up having to revive him in every mission.
Having said that he was needed in a sense since we had to unite all the orders at some point…just wish it had been done better and with a better character too.
Its frankly disappointing since I was enjoying the personal story until the claw island part but now i just do it for the rewards, exp and to just get it over with.
I agree with the comments here that he steals the show. Not only that but you are reduced to being his lackey with sometimes the option of choosing which order you will blindly follow, oh and lets not forget his absolutely horrid voice acting and cliche lines.
Like many have stated here a ranged warrior is perfectly viable. I use longbow and sword/axe for my warrior and it’s very much effective in PvE and WvW haven’t tried sPvP but I’d probably switch to a rifle there.
Yeah i agree, sometimes i decide not to buy since the icons on weapons can be misleading or I don’t know how a dye will look like on my armor. I think the Trading Post is missing this little but fundamental option and I’m sure most people would like to have this implemented if possible.
In my opinion after reading what you posted you are trying to choose a profession that’s not “mainstream” while you should in fact just play one that’s fun for you. It doesn’t really matter what your friend plays or what the guy next to you plays as long as you enjoy your current profession
Having said that I play as a Warrior and don’t get bored, i like a lot of the skills on the weapons like sword-axe, dual-axe, hammer, greatsword and switch between them depending on what i feel like killing with
