Also from SoR…this is ridiculous, how they thought this banning system would be a good idea is unknown to me….banning people for farming/being in the same place as bots is so stupid I can’t express how idiotic it is.

Hello myself and 2 guildies from Sanctum of Rall reporting in , we just got hit with the ban as well during shelter event! We’re on the side of against bots not being them!

I wasn’t doing the shelter event but I was gathering Ori, I have been banned for around 5 hours now and no response. There is no way in hell my ban was verified by anyone. I am fully geared in exotics, have around 2.3k AP and I very much doubt bots do dungeons everyday….for which I have achievements for showing that I completed them so it should be easy to check. Please start unbanning the accounts from a few days back and manually verify if they are or not bots…. :C

The irony is there is probably a bot train running around Orr right now while we, legitimate players, were banned….and since it’s a holiday they probably wont even look at our tickets until Monday….notice I said look not solve….

I received an update on my issue this morning ( 10am Pacific ). Asked for my serial code and what not and they seemed to have changed my account from botting to suspended for 70 hours.

Isn’t much of change since you are still banned….but at least you got a response I guess

I’m very much worried now with all this unjustified banning. Some of guildmates (well, just 3 of them, including my guild leader) who got their legendaries almost weeks ago got banned for “botting”. They were just farming in Orr. They do that almost the rest of every day and spend in one party. I, too, farm there with them but I’m in another party. But we always talk about stuff in our VoIP (Raidcall). When the banning happened, the 3 of them inside that party got banned altogether at once. We were surprised!

One of them got her account back already (she has a legendary too). The other one, I have no news yet, while the last one, our Guild Leader, was accused of using a 3rd party program and we all were like “WTF?!”. We’ve known him for so long, and we believe there’s no way he would do it because he’s not botting. It’s funny to think ANet accusing players as bot in this way. He helps our members most of the time! He’s even a commander in WvW. >.<

Then later yesterday, another 2 of our members got banned again. They were both farming in Orr too, working to get their legendaries done. The first one got his account back today, while the other one is still waiting for an update.

The guild members are considering to craft our own legendaries, of course. But realizing that farming in Orr might lead you to getting banned wrongfully is like ‘not worth it’ anymore. We still have no idea how all of this happened. Reports by other players? ANet’s bot detecting system?

I hope ANet devs will read this. Please don’t do this to your legit players. There are lots of bots out there, and yet you ban the real ones, accusing them for botting. We hate bots and cheaters too (oh please, there are lots of them in WvW). But if you’re really sure they did it, I hope you’d provide them concrete evidences before banning them and getting their accounts closed permanently.

It’s really disappointing.

I would avoid Orr just to be on the safe side…that’s where I got banned for “botting”….must be some bot with so many dungeons done and currently using arah dungeon gear….so pissed off right now.

I think the banning system is most likely working which is why there has been no official statement as to why it seems there are so many people being incorrectly banned. If that is the case that would most likely mean that all of those who were unjustly banned must have shared some of the attributes they have set within the parameters of the flagging system. I’m not saying we are all guilty, I’m saying the system is probably working it just needs to be refined as to not create false positives. That or it has been bugging out and they haven’t fixed it yet.

The bad part is actually not that we are not playing at the moment if we were banned for allegedly, “botting.” but the fact we will not know what actions we took to get flagged. Myself, as I spend a lot of hours in the game when I’m not at work, will always have a little bit of uneasiness not knowing if its going to happen again or why it happened in the first place to avoid it in the future. Although one should not have to “avoid” certain actions because they could lead to a false ban.

I think the idea of the automated ban system is great and when it can finally have about a 95-100% success rate [that being 95-100% of only guilty parties being banned] it will be fantastic. Until then Anet I’m sure realizes there will be some blowback by the community that gets hit, but unfortunately for us, it is most likely for the betterment of the game in the long run as it allows them to see what is and isn’t working properly. If it had been me however, I would have stuck to one server while still in the early stages of the system, and if this isn’t the early stages of the system, Anet is going to be having some issues. Because every time this purge happens more and more actual innocent people are going to feel betrayed.

Thing is, are you really happy with an automated system knowing you, an innocent person got banned, and there is a guy sitting in Frostgorge right now named 45t7yb framing trolls?

This system is causing more trouble than helping. They should roll back the bans and just do it right.

I’ve had a very similar experience. I reported a handful of bots (Which I seem to do almost every day) and when I tried to log on the next day, it told me my account was banned for botting. I submitted a ticket and about 48 hours later, I had my account restored. I’m not sure if I was caught in the “sweep” because I was reporting bots, but I’m not sure I’m going to report any more if it means that I will be banned as well.

That’s horrible…guess I won’t be reporting any more bots either, also since it was the same problem I will have to wait 48hs too? man this sucks….

So, Anet so thought it was a good opportunity to randomly ban me for botting when I didn’t bot and never have. I really hope it’s not due to the fact that I actually tried to farm lodestones for a couple of hours and the bot detection system actually detected me as a bot, because if it is, then boo on your bot detection system because it’s terrible. It’s not my fault that the drop rate is abysmally low and I actually have to no-life it.

Yes, I also got banned today for “botting” and the only time i’ve ever been near bots is when I report them, if I really got banned for being near them than that is a horrible method of banning bots. What I’m really worried about is when I try to log in it says my “account closure is permanent”

I got banned/suspended for this too today I didn’t do anything wrong either so it really puzzles me as to why I was banned.

Hello, I was banned 1 hour ago due to “unacceptable behaviour” when I was gathering Ori in Cursed Shore, I have already sent a support ticket but I am posting here in the hopes that someone from A-Net will see it and help me out because I have done nothing wrong and I’m being prevented from playing :C

P.S. I just tried logging in again and it now says I was banned due to botting and my account closure is Permanent? :C :C :C

I would love to see 2-hand axes (of course), spear (silly that we get them underwater but not on land…. -_-;), knuckles/ cestus (nothing would make me happier than being able to punch a champion mob in the face and no our kitteny elite doesn’t count) and definitely being able to use daggers and pistols at least off-hand.

Having said that I doubt I’ll ever see all that :C

There is a huge difference between “slim toned” and “underfed and scrawny”. Granted, the norn women aren’t as bad as the humans, but that’s kitten with faint praise, really. They should look more like their men: thick, tough and strong. Not like slightly taller humans with huge racks.

A thin little scrap of any species just isn’t credible as a heavy-duty adventurer, even if they’re not swinging a greatsword around. It becomes even less credible when that person is from a species renowned for their physical fortitude and a culture obsessed with proving one’s strength and forging one’s legend.

I could live with the scrawny little girl options if at least all species had options for strong and tough (and mature- and older-looking) warrior-types too. Only the charr really have that, sadly.

Yes, I agree that there should be more variety for other species but imo the norn already have bigger options when you compare it to the others. Also the whole talk of what norn “should” look like really isn’t up to you but up to a-net.

Also you are the one being narrow-minded here, it almost seems like you don’t want slim characters and find it “crude” that other people do, lastly athletes aren’t all extremely buffed up and a lot of them are slim toned depending on what sport they do.

The thing I don’t understand is that this bug was reported over 2 weeks ago and its still not fixed! I wasted 2 hours yesterday because of this!

Its ridiculous that Arah is only available on some servers right after a new build…only to get bugged again the next day…it’s been like this in Sanctum of Rall for a while now.

While I find the deeper sounding voice of the current female norn more appropriate than the human voice I think its too deep in some cases and seriously lacking in emotion in some cases too.

Bugged in Sanctum of Rall…and getting sick of it. As it is now I can only do this dungeon when server gets a new build and resets, why are dungeons affected by DE anyway? this seems stupid for people that only want to do dungeons in that area.

Nicely done in refusing to take part in bugging a boss just because you weren’t succeeding at first.
As you said bugging a boss =/= valid strategy and people that view it as such are probably the ones that resort to bugging bosses because they can’t dodge out of a red circle.

Same in Sanctum of Rall, arah gate is bugged (probably because one of the events that opens it up is bugged) as it stands i can only run it when a new build comes out, and then the day after its bugged :C

@Noody – The gate is closed because one of the events that get it okitten bugged. I’m on SoR and this is getting ridiculous, we can only do arah when there is a new build

Having all of the races I personally think the norns are a lot of fun, be it the male norn with his extra long arms and goofy feet or the beautiful female norns however I think they have the worse voice actors.
The male norns voice are nothing like what I imagined they would be, he kinda sounds like a noble or something like that and the female voice has no emotion and the deep voice seems forced. Despite that I still play them as I find them fun.

Living in the UK I find this really strange as well, would be nice to hear from a-net about this.

I don’t this race change will ever be an option, not because ANet doesn’t want to do it, but because your personal story is tied to your race – if you could change your race, you’d have to be able to just reset your story completely or something.

Pretty much this, also there is the issue of cultural armour, maybe it could implemented by resetting your level to 1 (so you would have to do the story again) and all your items (taking about the soulbound ones) could still be used on this character.

What a horrible idea imo,I love experimenting with traits and enjoyed leveling up with different builds…limiting one player to one build is a horrid idea.

Would love to see dueling in gw2, sometimes I get the urge to battle my friends and kicking their kitten :P I think if it does get implemented it will be put into the PvP area as it would fit in nicely there imo.

5 sigs are a great way to go around farming/soloing but I personally feel they are lacking for anything that has to do with groups, of course it could just be that the players I’ve encountered that run that build were bad and would have been bad in any other build but I find it strange that they were running signets 90% of the time….

I used to get this as well, but it stopped after a new build a few weeks ago, thought it was fixed for everyone

I’d imagine that there were much more important bugs to fix, all professions have a few bugs and they are slowly but surely being fixed.
Just give it some time.

I use shouts that heal + have 3 regens (1 from dolyak, 1 from traits and another from signet) + have plenty of toughness…while I agree that you cant tank in this game you are more “tankish” and able to take more damage than other builds. Saying that it’s worthless for dungeons or whatever is plain wrong. With shouts I not only heal myself and buff myself but do so to party members around me as well and it’s funny when I survive longer than other warriors and some guardians (in their case they probably weren’t playing their profession accurately), and I’m not even using mace/shield which would further increase my survival, I went with axe/axe because I deal a good amount of damage with them (and I love the axe/axe skill set )

This happened a couple times for me as well, both cases in high level areas, it is a bit disappointing since I go out of my way to rez anyone I see on the map that’s dead even if it’s a bad situation I will try to help by rezzing little by little. Thankfully not everyone is like this and there are more people that will rez than those that don’t. (at least for my server)

^ this. You hit in a 360 degree range and it builds up adrenaline completely if you hit 2+ mobs. Every once in a while you hear that this skill sucks and I really can’t imagine what would drive people to ignore its usefulness.

Are longbows a melee weapon? No.
Should they be used by warriors? Yes. Why? Because we are warriors not knights or whatever other BS description you get from other games.

In fact we should also be able to use daggers and pistols imo

Yeah but seriously like someone stated above 5 sig strategy is nice up until lvl 50 if you’re soloing but after that theres really no excuse unless you’re lazy or afraid of getting out of your comfort zone and trying out something that will not only benefit you but your party as well.

I personally try to show all the warriors in the guild I’m in other builds and try to encourage them to try out different things than the 5 sig snorefest

I agree with OP, female human body choice is horrible. You have tons of anorexic to thin shapes, but there is only one shape I would call remotely curvy. And somehow they thought it was a great idea to deflate this body shape’s bust to ridiculousness. I’m not asking for Norn E-cup milkbags, simply for proportion.

Also, I am really missing a lipstick option or mouth in general. Cannot really understand why it’s directly tied to the eyes. Sometimes, the eyes look great but are ruined by a stupid-looking mouth.

I completely agree on your second point, sometimes the mouth ruins the whole face :S there should be more options to edit it.

Regarding your first point, I’m not too disappointed with the body types but then again I wanted my female toons to be busty but I can understand that there should be more options to cater other preferences as well.

Congrats on those that got the t3 armour, personally I find them too costly but if you’d like to share your money making ways I’d reconsider ;P

Edit: Also, heavy armor isn’t skimpy in this game. Just like IRL. I feel ANet has decided to please everyone, and has almost succeeded. Now, if only character gender wasn’t quite as binary…

There are some nice looking ones for females (by nice I mean revealing ) but I find there is a nice balance between them, except for medium armour not enough imo for those of us who like playing with a skimpy female char from time to time. (or maybe I just haven’t found them yet)
