^that is quick thinking
There are a lot of cheesed off PvE’rs posting about being grieved in the EB JP. I’m letting everyone up and porting. Let’s ALL be civil and get all this achievement done. We’re capable of this….
ty
I’ve been porting and trying to let everyone up. It’s hard to get everyone to stand down. I’m trying!
I might use it again. I actually used it last week just for the heck of it. As one of my main’s being a condition Ranger, it’ll be hard to justify using it over Entangle.
Raging, no. Ticked off and want someone finally fired after repeatedly failing to address the issues many of us express on here, yes! These “balancing” issues continue to build this into a game I’m less and less happy with. There’s an obvious agenda which is rooted in sPvP. Also, rooted in making things harder and more melee. If there has been any power creep, it’s actually been in the difficulty of the game.
Here’s a question, why can’t players have the feeling of “owning” in PvE. It’s PvE!!!! If you’ve put in 1k hours into the game, you should be Hulk like and smash the kitten out of everything! Oooh…. destruction… we should have environmental things to smash, yes!
Anyway, not happy at all. I like RANGED play. I love being a sniper in games and get my head pop’s in. I like being a Beast Master and have my pet’s do my bidding. The new “shout” Ranger is annoying as bleep to keep spamming guard. Thus, it won’t last long.
The only thing I’ll be happy about is my staff Ele. Which needs new skills on Staff. We should have some melee skills introduced. It’s a giant Bo Staff to beat people with too! I can’t believe no one in Anet thought of it. Earth 5 should be a whirl finisher with knock back.

If no one realized yet, the developers that made this game include an enhanced level of suffering to appease hard core players that love to suffer. If they aren’t at the edge of rage, palm sweat and all, then they aren’t having “fun”. That’s why to most everyone else it’s considered grieving, not fun.
For the JP, I’ll hop on my Mesmer and help portal people up. Ask if there’s a portal and wait for it. Maybe even give WvW a try in the meantime…
Are you a Ranger? Then don’t bother
As someone who likes to have every recipe in the game, this is still complete b.s.. There was no mention what these recipes where. If they were exclusive to the Rich coffers or not. If they were going to be account bound or not. Which the ones from Flame and Frost were sellable on the TP.
This continued form of exclusivity will kill this game fast.
Wait… a recipe is being given out to “special” people? When none of us even knew the recipe existed? Wow, there’s some crazy right there. So now we’re supposed to buy whatever RNG boxes are offered because some mystery gift might be given to us later?
Anet’s getting worse on the whole being upfront with the customers.
People were there for the instigator only. People, for the most part, like to have fun and little grieving. Southsun now, is simply not worth the hassle.
For everyone that keeps saying “Risk vs Reward” it’s the wrong discussion. There is no risk involved. It’s simply a matter of time, effort, and annoyance vs reward, Let me go up into steampipe and snipe those lvl 84’s from 1500. THEN it’ll be fun and worth doing the rest.
If climbing still worked with Guard, that might have been a solution? I haven’t done it yet but, going to try tomorrow.
Of all professions that needed more power added to them, thieves received Torment. Why didn’t Rangers get this capacity to offset a little bit of the nerf to our pets?
Do you think we should have gotten this skill too?
I just spent Gems and gold to revamp my Ranger this past weekend. Now it’s pretty pointless unless I want to farm in PvE.
So on BG and also on JQ, two of the most populated servers, Southsun is a ghost town. That say’s a lot right there….
I feel torn since I have many alt’s from multiple professions
Happy for my Staff Ele! She’s the one I mostly use in WvW.
The stand out of this patch is to my Ranger. Which I just bought a gem card to get Krytan armor. Spent a bunch of gold on rare dyes, armor, and trinkets. Figured she was all set to rock, now then this.
I’m going to try and be nice and civil about this…. deep breathe
A Rifle Warriors auto attack bleeds from any direction, at 1200 range.
An Engi with Grenades can bleed from any direction, at 1500 range.
A Thief, who cares about range on a Thief???
Anyway, on a Thieves Pistol can bleed from any direction at 900 Range.
A Ranger Short Bow though, that can only bleed from behind or sides at 900 range. And, that video is absolutely laughable. Go to Orr and strafe any Risen. Go to WvW and Strafe any NPC. Then you will see they pivot like a top to always face you.
Stop watching Jon Sharps SotG, it’s obviously killing some of your brain cells. And, I really hope his hands are kept away from any further “balancing” in the future. He’s obviously highly biased to Thieves and melee. Contrary to the fact that human’s figured out range is the superior form of combat over 400,000 years ago!
Grrr…..
Oh no? You can’t autoattack with Shortbow anymore, from freaking miles away, while applying 14+ stacks of Bleed? God forbid you actually have to use skills to play.
Ranger Shortbow was by far the most forgiving, braindead, easy-mode way to play in all of GW2. Thank god they changed the range.
Rangers do not stack that much bleed. “Bleed your target if you hit them from behind or from the side.” this is why!!!! Even every NPC in the game pivot’s to face a Ranger as the pet goes behind. Thus, short bow auto attack cannot bleed anything unless it runs away from you. Short bow #4 is a pathetically low powered bleed.
Short bow range being 900 is complete and utter crap
If they removed the “from behind or from the side” from short bow auto attack, then we’d be useful. Otherwise, a Rifle Warrior can bleed out way better than a Ranger. An Engi is WAY better at dishing out conditions than Rangers.
Thieves are everything we should be and more. It’s a sad day in the game….
If this was true, then logically the pet nerf should have been excluded. At least until the attack on movement portion of the pet AI was ready.
Rangers get nerfed and thieves get a boost. I blame this all on John Sharp and his sPvP needs.
Enjoy real life before getting sucked in again. It’s healthier and more fun
It’s pretty much impossible unless you are in a large and very agreeable Guild. Settler’s gear is available from the Southsun Economist. He’s at multiple places across Southsun. The catch is, he only has the Settler’s gear available if the zone has all 4 settlement’s cleared. Which, I have not found to be the case since Dragon Bash began. In fact, Southsun is pretty much a ghost town on my server.
I know this because I’ve wanted more myself….
Da’ heck, I haven’t been able to run along side them once in JQ. Don’t leave yet!!!!!
Congrat’s!
As a fellow Ranger on JQ, Chopp’s is right about not solo roaming. You’ll get run over far too often that way. With a lot of boon duration, our Warhorn #5 skill last almost as long as it’s recharge rate. Thus you can have near perma swiftness and fury.
Ranger’s are odd in that, you think we should be attacking from “Range” Yet, we end up sitting in a puddle most of the time. It’s really really odd
I have a lot of concerns with Mual getting a 50% reduction today. I love my cats and except for an Owl, I do not like any other pet. This is a serious hit to my Beastmaster build.
Yes, if the circles up, find the lord and pop the War Banner. War Banner rezzes all NPC’s within a radius.
Considering BG run’s more full map zerg’s than any other world in NA, I don’t know what your complaint is? For the rest of us, it’s something that helps the outmanned worlds.
2:10 – 2:45 Consistency of Rules. I get agitated many times when enemies are invulnerable. If I can find an advantage spot, where I can hit them and can’t be reached, I should win. It’s called getting the high ground. Disobeying this with invulnerablilty sucks. It’s quite annoying to have ones ingenuity and logic punished because a developer wants to force me to melee. Which happen quite often, the illogical punishing of ranged and forcing melee. Which goes against all that we, as humans, know about combat.
6:40 The game has many punishing moments. Thieves are a perfect example in WvW. They are designed to grieve. One of my favorite builds to run is my staff Ele. There is no build, no skill, and no chance of beating a good thief. It’s incredibly annoying and add’s far too much stress to what is supposed to be fun entertainment.
Southsun is a perfect example of punishing PvE content. The inhale of Reef Drakes and Trample of Karka are not readily avoidable. Then we get to Steampipe and the mystery decloaking of level 84’s around you. Being insta-killed is not fun all. That is why it has become a ghost town once again. No one can solo the content. there is no reward to encourage players to go there. So the individual who wishes to go there is now left powerless. Great design that is…..
Weapon dyes, YES! This game, from the start, has really been soul suckingly dreary. The steam punk, tribal, and flaming skulls themes need an update badly. If not user dyeable, then just have multiple versions for us to choose from.
More Hair Styles!!
More Armor Skins!
More Weapon Skins!
More look’s with Life in them!!! PLEASE??
And, yes it should be a priority. Like in the next month or two. Stagnation is setting in hard. The only new looks were RNG gated and not very good.

I’m all for the OP’s idea. And, who cares if it’s Ranger only? By now most of us should have rolled a Ranger anyway. There’s a reason we have character slots. We’re encouraged to role one of each profession. Thus, the actual players are not being shorted.
Actually yes, a Thieves burst scaling is still too high for my taste, period. We’re all too paper compared to that damage output. Hopefully the new balancing will bring it down to a reasonable level.
I really do place an importance on my characters appearance. One issue I’ve had since day one is dying different materials. Especially when having a lot of gold on white and Celestial. There’s such a large difference between materials, it makes it impossible to match the colors. Worst is on my Ranger wearing Duelist armor. Celestial looks a grungy gray. Not a brilliant white that glows as the name suggest.
I’m wondering if we can have a user ability to set the materials saturation and reflective qualities. However you wish to define or label it.
I would just be happy if Ranger pets could sniff out and track thieves. Just that alone would give one…. ONE…. thing to counter act Thieves in WvW.
agree’d! And, I thought we suggested this as soon as we saw them in Southsun? I guess they don’t read the forums that much
Thieves have the highest burst, stealth, and mobility. No class should have all 3. Not while defense and healing are pitifully imbalanced compared to damage output. Thieves should have had the lowest burst in the game.
Think about it, do you ever think of someone being stealthy, nimble, fast, and strong??? NO! Thieves should kill by a thousand little bee stings while zipping in and out of stealth. Not stealth in a burst down in a couple of HUGE hits. It’s just illogical.
Yes, I’d like more of say, the Sims put into the game. Something to do beyond mindless killing.
Because stealth is abused for grieving. That’s why there’s been thread after thread on this topic. And, they’ll continue to be thread after thread until most of the players simply leave the game or they finally change it.
umm… how are you farming THAT many coffers? They do not drop regularly enough to farming 5k. Unless you play a lot of hours per day. Or, unless magic find is affecting them. Which I though it wasn’t since they are event items.
Two of my toons experience lag, rest are fine

Haven’t tried any other characters yet really. But, my main that I did the Dragon Events on IS the one I’m trying to play and having all these issues.. No less I’m having this issue on 2 computers too!
I’m getting Dc’d in WvW, sPvP, and PvE. All of a sudden, skills will get stuck and freeze, then about 5 seconds later the game will speed up to catch up for a second. Or, I’ll get disconnected completely.
This all started a couple of days ago with the Dragon patch. Otherwise, I’ve never had a problem. Worse yet, I’m getting all that and the blue screen of death on my older system. Same time frame too. I have no idea what’s going on!
I thought maybe it was my internet connection but, I called my provider. They didn’t detect anything on their end. I took my router out out the loop and testing with my system directly connected to the modem. It’s still acting up.
Right now I’m thinking Napalm! Have my provider replace the modem, buy a new router, and then re-install the clients. Because I’m at a loss. The only other commonality is that they are nVidia graphics cards running the same driver.
Any advice would be great!
Literally, I am becoming physically sick by roaming thieves. After all these months of being instagibbed on my staff Ele, I really want to punch a dev every time I die from one. It’s like a Pavlovian response now. Because we all know, if a Thief stealth’s in behind a staff Ele, we’re dead on the spot. Backstab, Heartseeker, Heartseeker, and there’s all my HP gone in 2 seconds. Dodging is only a delay. Mist form, without any ability to use skills, is only a delay. Heck, I’ve been vital shot down, pew pew pew pew, unable to escape or win with staff.
All this is why the dev’s really need an ear full, all day long. Players have been posting thread after thread since launch about this profession. Which seems to be purpose built to grieve. Sadder is when a Dev has in his WvW video that he runs havok with 2 Thieves and 2 Mesmers. Doubling down on the two most annoying classes in the game.
Still, I have a lot fun in WvW. But, this designed in instagibbing and grieving makes it highly frustrating and sucks the life out of it.
As a member of JQ, I was very happy to have [TW] BACK to JQ. Even if it was for only a week.
They had no effect on queue’s because, we don’t have queues on JQ Maybe one BL will queue during NA. Reset night, we’ll fill the maps for 3-4 hours, that’s all.
Thus, it was great having [TW] over here and they are welcome to return anytime
World vs World, isn’t a numbers game. Unless you have triple the enemy. But I’ve seen 10 man teams take out 20 man teams easily.
Because triple never happens? That and more are a daily occurrence.
THAT’s exactly why we call you BRATgate. You want a real actual 2v1, I think you earned it now.
^just tell me where? Any one of the Reds can take care of this for ya
Why are you all so full of kitten? I mean this as a most serious question. Why talk to each other like this?
Reality is, no one server is THAT skilled above the others. I’d love to chest thump and say we’re all this and the rest of you suck. But, I can’t do that. Having Indo spend a week here was really eye opening and fun on many levels. I’m hoping more folks take week long vaca’s like that. Mostly though, it showed we’re all more similar than we’d like to admit. AND, we can have a lot of fun working together. These server labels we like to use to chest thump aren’t as important as we’d like them to be.
This is a game of numbers. It’s the end all be all of the WvW meta. As was posted by a member of BG above, they had queues on every bl for many hours of the day. No other NA server has the WvW population BG has. Especially not JQ or DB. That and the JQ/DB family feud is why BG PvDoor’d their way to such a high number last week. Now, the second highest WvW populated server, SoR, has returned to the match and BG isn’t doing as well. Which is to be expected and rightly hoped for for balance.
I wish Anet would take up my concept of WvW being an Alliance/Legion. Where anyone, from any world, can join into a Legion to fight at any time. No transfer’s required! This way people can jump around and have more fun! Leaving the World chest thumping out of it. Leaving the server pop caps out of it. Having us, the players, be able to auto-balance out the populations on a moments notice.
These Alliances/Legions could have some form of meaning or story to go along with them. Maybe having special rewards of armor/weapons themes for doing X amount in the Legion/Alliance. Differing maps with differing wildlife.
I have no clue why “developers” had not thought of this before! WvW still seems like an off shoot than a fully developed idea.
OMG amazing, never imagined it. Hoot!!!
Yes, it’s not that much of a challenge. It depends if you over extent on the zone you’re on. It just takes longer and chasing the buggers around because they’ll chase down and PvE critters in the area.
Nuking them in a couple of seconds (as a group) was fun!
No they don’t “NEED” more HP!!!! People need to (and I can’t believe I’m going to say this) L2P. You can lower you damage output easily. It’s called white weapons, white armor, or heck go run them naked! GG, think outside the box will ya’?
Besides, I was tagging them easily on a lvl 11. Also, no ones going to be doing them in a couple of days, relax……
btw.. I used these for tagging and a laugh

I agree with the OP! And I call BS on anyone who say’s “No one waits” because I was for hours last night. Sitting there jumping up and down letting people know I’m waiting for them.
For the game, I would agree that does not reward altruism at all. It’s all about rewarding (brain washing) greed and being self centered. It’s not community building but, mafia style mob building
Oh, for anyone wanting to blow them up, I’m not on my Engi doing it. I’m on lvl 10-11 alt’s using these http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Bandit%27s_Improvised_Bomb
It really had me cracking up last night. I was getting really bored with them
