Consider yourself either elite skilled or got a good run in. I tried my Settlers and Rampagers for the Pirates several times. Just couldn’t get enough output to get it done in time. Switched to an Ascended Rabid build, retraited for traps, and the first shot got it done. It’s the timer that makes it a Zerker’ish requirement.

10 gold and 105 laurels later, I finally beat the Pirates. Everyone cover your ears while I take this moment to tell the Dev’s what I think of them. Grrr….

Also, how many are doing this in Zerker? If these fights were supposed to teach us something, it’s that Min/Max is still the overall meta. I’d have liked to have seen the need for balanced builds introduced more.

Um…. since this is an MMORPG, I voted for Kiel because she’s the better person for Tyria. Regardless of any promised rewards I may garner for it.

So basically, this is a huge gold sink within a farmable area? No amount of retraiting is going to make you that much different without completely reequipping your character.

Someone already mentioned the full height issue. Yes, it kinda sucks being a full height Norn with these camera angles.

Ok, I’ll bite, for any Ranger how did you do the Pirates? I’m all about AoE on my Ranger and drilling down on one Pirate isn’t working for me.

I’ve said it before, I’m really not a fan of “suffering” type of content. It’s not fun for me. The Mad King dungeon, even though difficult at times, was hilarious! When the whole party would fall and splat on top of each other again and again, that was funny. This is just suffering by annoyance. Nothing more than that for me.

You should take your issues upon the leaderships of your server as all your strategic points could be handled by the guild leaders of your servers teamspeak or messageboard.

Sooo…. as soon as I mention removing Guild Tags, the knee jerk response is to say Guild Leaders should be the server leaders too? Not much into the concept of a “World” community are we? lol

GvG, as it is now, goes against the spirit and intention of WvW. Right from the start, the minute you enter WvW you are a member of the Worlds Force. A guild label should not come before the World. Anet could really pull the plug on GvG by removing visible Guild Tags in WvW.

Guilds participating should at least be considerate and smart enough to realize it’s 3 Worlds per map. You should be having 3 Guilds down at South Camp for GvG. Leaving one out at a time to spectate. Thus leaving an equal number of active WvW players on the map. All of the complaints of GvG would be eliminated if people were smart enough to do this….

BG and TC hit full server population status again. Thus, I’d have to say no, people aren’t dropping from the top.

First, valuing “your” time over another is, in itself, selfish. Demanding another has to spend a lot of gold on Zerker gear is selfish. Next, what if they have Zerker’s but, it’s green or yellow? Would they get kicked too?

This BS conversation is simply that, BS. Unless someone scientifically test’s this, everyone is spouting opinions. Even if the time is 20% faster, that doesn’t mean it was 20% more fun.

As a WvW player, I do not use Zerker. Occasionally I may play with it but, the sustainability from toughness, vitality, and healing become quite evident.

And yet, maybe Kiel has better lore and that’s why we voted for her? Maybe the majority of votes were votes for the story, over personal interests. If anything, the results speak favorably to the character of the players. Especially when the “hard core” crowd had a distinct advantage by the fact that the more your played, the more votes you could cast.

Kiel is a much more interesting character. I think her virtues simply challenge people. While Evon was a perfect example of an inflated ego and an enabler. Since most folks don’t like to be challenged, they simply turned off to Kiel. Especially since she’s an authority figure.

I’m happy to see the good person won in the end. Because the story matters……

Not only is Ellen Kiel the rightful winner of the vote, she is the better person to win the vote. She’s also far more relatable to me because of her values. Gnashblade’s selfishness and conceit is not what I’m about. Thus, not a good representative of me.

The fact that people voted for Evon, only for the Fractal, shows a high level of selfishness. Life isn’t always about asking “What’s in it for me?” With something as trivial and low risk as this vote, you still couldn’t pick a person for having virtues?

I’m certainly going to save my stacking of badges for Kiel as I’m going to use them often. Love Live Kiel!

After posting last night, curious to see what the OP was referring to, I logged back in. I can answer why a couple of maps were queued a couple of hours after. Waha made a special and very early appearance. Which was awesome because I finally got to run with them! Even if it kept me up WAY late

Though we all were able to map hop BL’s. So, I really still don’t know what happened for the OP

“Character Progression”… how about focusing on PLAYER progression, huh? It’s bad enough/boring enough to have to do the world map 9 times over. How about we focus on the players a bit more. Not only should WxP be account bound, it should be refundable. So if a skill sucks or they change things, which they always will, we can refund and retrait.

I’m not thrilled with “Dueling” in WvW personally. Here’s an example from last night.

We’re in the middle of taking Garri. I was downed in the LR, rezzed to spawn, and started running back. In the field north of Vale, between Briar and Bay, there was one friendly and two enemies appearing to be fighting. I instantly engaged and those kittens ran north into the water and toward the SW Garri Sentry. Which is directly in my path back into Garri. We downed them both and the friendly spiked them. Yet, I get a party request from one of the enemies afterwards. This person’s complaining I ruined the duel, etc. I was courteous and spent a minute to “apologize” to this person whom was upset. But seriously, how the Kitten is anyone supposed to know this??? Without question, this detracted from a large WvW battle.

Seriously, Dueler’s should have to dye their armor in bright orange or something. Maybe only do it in the GvG area by south camp? As long as you don’t harass the skill point down there…..

Ummm… I think many are coming into WvW for map complete. Many new names and several complaints over how are they going to get this or that VP, etc…

Also, our PvE’ers are coming in for the WvW portion of the monthly. Which means poof they’ll be gone by Sunday night again

I completely agree with your assessment. From a glass half full perspective, JQ could be a contender again with a few more EU/NA. That’s why there’s so many recruitment threads for us. It’s why even folks from SoR and BG tell others to come to JQ. It’s the easiest scenario to bring balance to T1.

By any value given, except maybe for total number of WvW players, JQ is the #3 Server. Obviously our Sea, as pointed out above, is Beastmode. As hard core as our EU players are, there are simply too few of them. That’s why the hand off to NA isn’t where we’d like it to be. For our NA, are you kidding, we’ve lead reset nights against SoR and BG. It’s just getting us all on and not goofing off

Except for BG, JQ, and DB, I think every server complains, if only we had Sea. Well, the opposite can be said for JQ. If we had just a few more to join our EU/NA.

For everyone outside of T1, instead of complaining about SoR and BG’s coverage, get your kittens over here to JQ and take them on!

As another on JQ, whom played from reset to this mornings 695, GJ JQ! Setting up that much siege was a bit over the top. When I said “siege up” I meant inside the keeps, Oy. BUT, it’s what we should have done. Just “giving” them back a keep is condescending and a slap in their face. You give them a good fight and make them earn it. They’ll feel much better about it when they do. As I knew they could and would take back their keeps.

I’m far less concerned about Mag or FA this week. They’ll be that much more battle hardened. JQ on the other hand is more than likely going to lose players to this match up. As Tasha and Carize are already expressing the sentiment. They probably even read me saying in chat this morning in EB “Don’t give up on WvW, keep checking in.”

For the ratings, they are obviously quite broken and irrelevant at the moment. This is the 3rd week of JQ being stuck in Tier limbo and player confidence is waning. I understood Anet making these matches the prior two weeks. This one is a true head shaker.

btw…. JAYNE! I was looking for you a couple of weeks ago when we fought TC/FA. Saddened to see you weren’t on there any longer

No, I don’t know or agree with this. Achievements have to be handled with moderation. We’re not playing this to suffer to the point of rage quit or spend all weekend for one. That is not a FUN gaming experience for many. The living story and it’s achievements should be a fun and pleasant experience to undertake.

Especially when they are temporary!

btw… when did such narcissism become the norm? When did compassion become so out of fashion? To see people accusing others of being “entitled” at the drop of a hat is deplorable.

I’d just like to point out to Arenanet, that when you look the data for “Southsun Survival” the only reason player hours are going to be high is because you made the achievement SO high. Not that many of us are enjoying this experience that much.

The cross recruiting is strong with this matchup. JQ reps in DB LA daily, PMs to oceanic and SEA guilds, and individual PMs to commanders pinned on active maps.

This we also do not condone. I’m wondering if this is someone just trying to troll DB and sabotage us though. It’s not like we need more Sea coverage. It just doesn’t sound right really.

I’m guessing all worlds that can fill the queue on reset, will get skill lag. We experienced it last week in our match up too. Like any skill, dealing with lag is something you learn. Then it’s not really a problem.

I want my pet’s to at least FLY like they should be able to. BTW… in WvW all night on my Ranger and this did not occur once for me.

I’m not happy about how RNG affects the evolution ranking…. We beat TC, yet there are now placed ahead of us. We’re losing even more points this week, again, just because the RNG placed us in T2.

Before any move, I’d recommend guesting to try out the PvE and the community. I refer to JQ as the hub of NA. A lot of folks guest here for events and the Living Story. For WvW, we still have the most #1 wins in NA. A very solid and established WvW community.

Just look at last weeks match up thread to see what our competitors have to say.

The issue is, we the players, have to divide ourselves as equally as we can across the servers and time zones. Coverage cap’s hurt, yes. Especially to those of us that try to fill those quiet times while outnumbered.

The best we can do is try to fill in the those caps. Not have Arenanet kittenize WvW.

Speaking of which, any EU or Oceanic players looking for great WvW server, JQ is the place for you!

If Guilds want to do this, there should be much more involvement of the three worlds. Just last night we lost a T3 Bay while a GvG was taking place on our BL. We lost it to the world not involved in the GvG. Thus, it’s hard for me not to imagine that the GvG hindered our performance. Taking 20% or more off of the map population certainly should have an affect in a LR battle.

I’m completely for an Arena for GvG. The easiest way is just add some area to EB JP.

But for Ranger, the magic question comes down to build. Which is Full Zerker???? Which is really ridiculous to require everyone who wants a simple achievement to run out and spend 10+ gold on gear.

I’ve done it on Kiel. Repeating it is proving to be a pita. No matter solo or in groups.

This work’s sometimes and very class dependent. Though I agree, for the first couple of minutes you can kill them only a few feet from spawn. Why bother though when they’ll run all the way to the back and to spawn again. Taking all the time off the clock. I chill cripple them as much as possible both coming and going.

This is significant in showing the decay of our society. Virtue is certain becoming a lost concept. #smh

WAY TO TROLL US Anet! Was just doingt level 4 again on Evon. Watch the Ele Vet auto heal right in the middle of combat. My pet is hitting him while I’m just behind the mortar and his HP was actually CLIMBING during my attack.

Everyone should be just giving this achievement. Or, the devs should have the vets lined up, firing squad style, so we can all one shot them down. Thus, Event Successful.

The fact that I did it earlier on an up level with ease and it’s not consistently repeatable shows clearly this is a bag of bs. I wouldn’t care is it wasn’t tied to any points but, it is.
