x6 Superior Runes of the Soldier gives “shouts removes conditions” which Crests does not offer.
Lumines.3916Useful because you can’t find upgrade slots for some of the stat spreads that are way more useful than crafting prefixes.
this is because the “crafting prefixes” is another problem !!! there is just not enough variety to go around !!!
but it seems like no one cares though.
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/Not-enough-Prefixes-Insignias
That would work.
“As a courtesy to you for fighting for your nation, the repair is on us and thank you for helping us” whatever.
aye this could work.
or simply the armor repair vendor in WvW repair armor without charging fees.
would not be too hard to implement eh?
errr what are you talking about? the prices of gems has gone up.
earlier the price was like 25-35 silvers (in game currency) per 100 gems
now it is like 37 – 47 silvers per 100 gems
dolyak signet
how much % damage is reduced? did anyone test it? i am guessing 10% damage reduction since guardian has -10% damage reduction signet as well.
warrior’s sprint
official gw2 wiki says 10% but can we have a passive buff icon to indicate this? and how does this +10% movement speed increase stack with swiftness?
say base speed 100%
with warrior’s sprint = 110% movement speed
with swiftness does it becomes 143% or 146.3% ???
or it does not stack and swiftness simply overwrites it, becoming 133% instead?
how about you pack some condition removals and pay some attention to the battlefield?
it helps!
warrior with long bow in WvW is just awesome.
remember to pack a war horn for emergency escapes though.
yes i am still playing
logging in everyday to complete daily and monthly achievements.
u only played 1/3 of the game.
WvW and sPvP offers infinite re playability.
i guess people like him will never enjoy dota / league of legends / team fortress / counter strike / etc
but if u use crests u will not be able to use runes anymore.
how about removing WvW death repair costs entirely?
that would encourage more people to participate in WvW perhaps?
Crests are useless. No one uses them.
Well I dunno about others but I am not using them ever.
From here:
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Crest
Crests are upgrade components which can be used at any item with an Upgrade Slot upgrade slot.
Relation to other upgrade components
Crests belong together with a set of upgrade components which provide flat bonuses to various attributes.
Seals, Medallions and Crests have the same set of suffixes, the Crest is the stronger version of the Medallion, which is the stronger version of the Seal.
Marks and Talismans are the predecessors of the Seal, but have an entirely diffrent set of suffixes.
Mark (level 20)
Talisman (level 35)
Seal (level 50)
Medallion (level 65)
Crest (level 80)
List of crests
Crest of the Magi
Crest of the Rabid
Crest of the Shaman
Crest of the Soldier
Crest of the Traveler
Trivia
Crests were used as upgrade components for light armor in early versions of the game. Then runes became the only armor specific upgrade component.
Why would we use Crests when we have Runes or Jewels?
Crests are just inferior items when compared against Runes and Jewels
I think we have enough. How many did you expect?
as many as possible.
Heck, most of the prefixes are not even available in PvE !!!
Rabid, Soldier etc prefix is not in PvE at all.
Sure there is a “Crest of the Rabid” or “Crest of the Soldier” but who would use Crests when there are Superior runes?
I’ll just copy some of my original text from here:
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/suggestions/Need-MOAR-Prefixes-Insignias-Craftable-too/first
From here:
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Mighty#Prefixes
Take a look at this:
“Triple attribute – Items with the following affixes provide a bonus to 3 attributes:”
Prefix | Attributes (Main, Minor, Minor)
Berserker’s | Power, Precision, Critical Damage
Carrion | Condition Damage, Power, Vitality
Cleric’s | Healing Power, Power, Toughness
Explorer’s | Magic Find, Power, Precision
Knight’s | Toughness, Power, Precision
Magi | Healing Power, Precision, Vitality
Rabid | Condition Damage, Precision, Toughness
Rampager’s | Precision, Condition Damage, Power
Shaman’s | Condition Damage, Healing Power, Vitality
Soldier’s | Power, Toughness, Vitality
Traveler’s | Power, Condition Damage, Magic Find
Valkyrie | Power, Critical Damage, Vitality
If we re-arrange them based on their main attribute we get:
Prefix | Attributes (Main, Minor, Minor)
Berserker’s | Power, Precision, Critical Damage
Soldier’s | Power, Toughness, Vitality
Traveler’s | Power, Condition Damage, Magic Find
Valkyrie | Power, Critical Damage, Vitality
Carrion | Condition Damage, Power, Vitality
Rabid | Condition Damage, Precision, Toughness
Shaman’s | Condition Damage, Healing Power, Vitality
Cleric’s | Healing Power, Power, Toughness
Magi | Healing Power, Precision, Vitality
Explorer’s | Magic Find, Power, Precision
Knight’s | Toughness, Power, Precision
Rampager’s | Precision, Condition Damage, Power
Thus we can see that some main attributes have more prefixes than others:
Power = 4
Condition damage = 3
Healing power = 2
Magic find, toughness, precision = 1
Why is this so?
What if i want a build that is like this?
Main: Healing Power
Minor: Power, Precision
With the current variety of prefixes this is not possible.
Why there is no vitality as main attribute prefix?

Should they make HoM rewards available in Black lion trading company?

Posted by: Deimos Tel Arin.7391
no.
please go play gw1 if you want the hom rewards.
this is an excellent idea!
perhaps people can finally get more organized now!
from here:
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Mighty#Prefixes
and pvp amulets at the bottom here:
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Amulet
we dun have enough choices of prefixes.
i thought guild wars 2 is all about choices?
i support this idea for a hard mode.
and for story missions to be re-done.
long bow for general pve dynamic events tagging mobs for loots exp
rifle for world event boss dragon fights
both for spvp
i think the “pve” puzzle is in the WvW pvp area in order to lure pve ppl only in so pvp ppl can pk them.
no. 10 skill slots is good.
you could always bring some friends and show them who’s boss.
with marriage comes divorce.
if marriage is in, so must be divorce.
i care. sorry for not replying earlier.
i was under the impression that the skills / traits description would be more detailed upon launch.
perhaps there is simply too much other important matters for them to handle at the moment.
i believe the skills / traits descriptions will have more details in them as time passes by though.
Level 80, Warrior, 8/10
not 10/10 because i heard not all stats are available for crafting
down scaling is working as intended.
nothing is wrong there.
no need to change anything.
dun fix what is not broken.
we need more choices of craft-able insignias / prefixes though.
well i think gw2 is not really balanced for 1 vs 1 dueling battles though.
if this is implemented then we would be seeing more rage / whine posts about “imba” 1 vs 1 duels etc yes?
wouldn’t that create more problems?
as of now, the only method to “duel” with a friend is to join an empty server in sPvP.
in gw2, “for great justice!” gives fury and might.
i think the name “for great justice!” is just fine.
no changes needed or required.
cheers!
Seconded. I don’t know if I’m allowed to say this but this was also discussed in reddit as well but this suggestion is much more interesting. Maybe Anet could work something out from this idea. Sometimes, listening to guild leaders or experienced players are better than 100G-Forged commanders.
Reddit suggest Vote to be commander, and with this suggestion (tactician and whatnot), larger, more organized guild can lead better. But maybe they wont show to all other members, instead, only towards guild members. I say this because if it shows to all members it’s almost no difference with commanders, people with no guilds, lone rangers, randoms will just go to it and zerg and die without a plan. I need someone in my guild to be an icon i can follow. Someone that can also lead squads not just the commander. Squads within my own guild.
I’m not saying I think better than ANet devs and maybe this issue was already spoken of but with the current state of 100g = commander, it certainly ain’t a good idea.
well at least give us more choices to have “commander” status or function (ability to create squads / teams etc)
i thought guild wars 2 is about having multiple choices?
i will be honest most of the people i play on sever i play on have 0 commander or at lest when i play we just have a group of player talking in team chat. figuring out best course of plan. i think changing the requirement would be a lot better say 20 gold and 1000 honor coins ? by that point you would understand the game clearly. i would also like an idea for commander be able to draw on World map give easier placement for setting up sieges. i had problems in game where people be like “BUILD SIEGE ON ME !” when there 100 people around you that not easiest way to run a siege.
besides drawing on world map, i think setting “map notes” on the world map would be better also right?
other players can mouse over and see what text the “commander” wrote there.
ow! i did not realize that.
errr anyway so are we able to craft exotic level 80 armor / weapons with rabid prefix / insignia?
by the way is your necro level 80 already ?
My necro is 80, yeah. As for crafting, I’m not entirely sure, but fairly confident there isn’t any. My tailoring is only at about the 250-275 level, and so far I haven’t seen any rabid prefix stuff. Where I’m making my assumptions regarding rabid gear comes from the fact that there is no rabid gear at all on the trading post, and I mean none, it doesn’t even show up as stuff that exists with no current listings available.
deng! does it mean that the wiki is outdated? >.<
well, i think we certainly need more types of prefixes / insignia as i have seen similar complaints / feedback in other sub-forums / topics.
and we need to be able to craft these insignias !!!
non overly aesthetically appealing max gear armor / weapons should not be too much of a grind to obtain !!!
grind for dungeon armor, fine. but not max stats armor and weapon please !!!
Really? I find most dungeons easy or maybe moderate at best.
errr well i have not tried out any dungeons yet but i heard the dying rate is extremely high.
for me, easy means no dying.
The two guys that are saying it is fine…
Well, the argument from the first guy is free of sense!
The second one things that it’s ok if 95% of PvE is a no-brainer (zerg fest) and the only answer is dungeons, explorable mode, really?
It’s not about being akittenhard challenge, there are a lot of difficulty/challenge levels from no-brainer tokittenhard… And somewhere between those difficulty levels should be most of the events are positioned. But currently almost every event is a no-brainer.And I’m not talking about world event bosses, I mean events in general!
I stood 15 minutes at the foot of The Shatterer without moving, dodging, just spamming my DMG skills 1 and 2… What do you think how much damage I took? Well, exactly zero, null, 0!! And that was just one single example… And you say that is fine? You can’t be serious!
well, you taking no damage means you know how to play the game.
did you overlook the many other players that were down or defeated during the dragon fight etc?
I agree that world bosses are very underwhelming. I actually expected them to be some sort of raids and need of at least one guild (40 ppl?) to be in a group and really organize what is going on, have tactics. Rest of the ppl would just tag along and fill the gaps. But kill Claw with some random 20 ppl who are doing nothing is just useless.
errr no. the random 20 ppl are not doing nothing. all of them are attacking the dragon.
the world event bosses are working as intended.
in all dragon battles that i participated, i always see got many other players got downed or defeated etc though i am not one of them.
just because the game is easier for you does not mean is easier for others.
support for a higher field of view.
i like it when the characters are tiny, like when we are fighting the claw of jormag
many botters in the game. when will them bots be purged?
40 silvers is the price for switching to a level 400 crafting skill.
i have not maxed my armorsmith yet so i am unaware of this issue.
how could this be?
we should be able to craft every type of insignia out there !!!
please fix this!
i support the idea for a visible quiver on character’s back!
either
1. no change to long / short bow stats, add visible quiver at back on long bow equip
2. divide long / short bow into 2 items becoming long / short bow + quiver
both works for me. though the first one would be much easier for anet to implement i guess.
the world event bosses are fine.
please leave them alone.
you want a challenge? go do some dungeons. explorable mode.
thanks!
is it fair that someone that keeps people up while still doing a little damage should get less reward then a player spamming buttons while hitting a boss?
not fair.
unfortunately this is how it will be for the time being unless anet changes things.
THANK YOU ANET !!!
At the moment, it is only possible to become a Squad Commander by spending 100 gold.
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Commander%27s_Compendium
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Commander#Squad_commander
The problem is that inexperienced WvW players can also become “Squad Commanders” if they spend real dollars (USD) on gems, convert those gems into gold (Guild Wars 2 currency) and buy a Commander’s Compendium.
Well I guess this is somewhat fine since ArenaNet could use those extra dollars.
Except that sometimes, some unpleasant things may happen for some players. Let me quote this from the local gaming community forum that I am a part of:
No offence to whoever that STILL thinks (player name removed) is a “good” commander, it wasnt just “A” bad decision, it was a “string” of bad decision.
this happened in FA borderlands, SoS finally managed to get greenbriar, maintained defence in Etheron(it was like super fortified with us assaulting north supply constantly), we held victors lodge effectively maintaining supply to dig in deeper in greenbriar, while maintaining bluelake and blue tower.
out of the blue, some commander came up, spamming main for rally, trying to get an orb in FA field from godsword to keep, are you kitten me? we were like undermanned and just enough to hold these points secure till the next tally to earn points for SoS
that ONE SINGLE RUN cost us Greenbrair & Victorslodge, Etheron under siege, and all they did was capture a tower AFTER a failed attempt on the north keep, which they lost as fast as they took, and the commander suddenly say,“HEY I GTG CYA”! the entire kitten happened in 15mins, yes that string of decisions cost us that much coz some kid decided to have fun as a commander, next thing u know, his “GTG” was loitering at Lions Arch giving prep talks about unicorns and rainbows.
No offence, i still thinks hes kitten, pls tell me your victories under him are tactical and not pure zerg, coz imma lol
AND just to update you guys on what happened on (guild name removed) entire Sunday on WvW since early morning to evening.
We assaulted Greenbriar which was heavily fortified, breaking thru victors lodge was epic, since they set up like 3 ballistas and a zerg defending the bridge, a MASSIVE shoutout and cheers to the guild “(guild name removed)”, they made the taking of Victors Lodge successful after they sparta’ed the bridge and everyone went along, we gave IoJ a taste of fear.
Follow up were SoS defending victors lodge and fortifying blue tower and holding blue lake supply, Etheron remains unbreakable as teams on that side assaults north supply.
I salute (player name removed) for givin us siege plans to siege Greenbriar, he built arrow carts and supplied me treb to take on Greenbriar from victors lodge, we had 2 arrow carts up and 2 trebs on victors lodge, i can proudly say, with the help of Pwnstars and SoS defenders supporting me, i trebbed 2 of Greenbriars trebuchets out, yes treb vs treb and we won
the other guilds treb was focusing on their front gates, while the rest maintain defence on victors bridge.
Greenbriar taken. We fortified to cannons, many of us including (guild name removed)build siege in greenbriar doing runs to victors lodge to supply our siege machines while maintaining dolyak supplies for Greenbriar upgrades. Got a treb, 2 cata, 1 cannon and around 6 arrow carts up. Defended there for a good halfday, till some idiotic commander came and effed everything up. IoJ took Greenbriar, and we lost so badly ppl eventually quit, thats all to report.
tl; dr Summary:
The hard earned efforts of some players were destroyed due to bad leadership of some “Squad Commanders” well I guess this is part of the meta game eh?
Hence, I suggest that, similar “Squad Commanders” status / WvW map presence should be obtainable as well, not just via 100 gold (Guild Wars 2 currency)
Perhaps via and influence:
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Badge_of_Honor
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Influence
Say, for example:
(or better names ArenaNet can come up with)
Tactician
- obtained via redeeming Badges of Honor
- ??? colored symbol on map
- maximum of 40 players per squad
Guild Tactician
- obtained via Guild Upgrades – Art of War (Spending Influence)
- ??? colored symbol on map
- maximum of 50 players per squad
- symbol on map only visible to representing guild members (suggested by Nyrlina.1875)
Squad Commander
- obtained via spending 100 gold to buy Commander’s Compendium
- blue colored symbol on map
- maximum of 30 players per squad
The current “Squad Leader” is a blue colored symbol while these 2 new ones could have other 2 suitable different colors or symbols etc.
So what say you all?
(edited by Deimos Tel Arin.7391)
the original guild wars 1 had a lot of optional grind.
the guild wars 1 title “god walking among mortal men” is a huge grind. but that’s optional.
i guess for new players it would be a somewhat grind to earn their first 7500 gold (guild wars 1 currency) or 7.5k platinum (guild wars 1 currency) for their first level 20 (max level) armor in the original guild wars 1.
in guild wars 2 i guess there is a little bit of grind for max level max stats a full set of level 80 exotic armor and weapons as well. that, i dunno yet. as my level 80 warrior is still exploring the lands and not grinding for max level max stat exotic armor and weapons yet. still wearing old green / blue armor and weapons from drops etc.
Personally, I vote we get rid of the multiple waypoints active at one time. It takes away from the challenge of the game. In GW1, the waypoints were few and far in between. If you died in the middle of an area, you had to start all over from the last waypoint, which could be on the other side of the map area. Not only that, you’d rez with a 10% (?) debuff to your stats that you had to earn your way out off – dying sucked in GW1 and you did all you could to avoid it. You needed to plan out and use a bit of strategy when engaging foes. You actually had to stop and plan out a route – sometimes, it was worth taking twice the time to move through an area, if you could avoid a mob path.
The numbers of waypoints in GW2 are too numerous and, IMHO, take away from the challenge of the game. Why worry about dying when I know that I’ll rez just a few feet away? Broken armor? I’d rather take damage armor over taking a 10% stat debuff! Most of the time, I’m in an area where I’m scaled down anyway – I could fight naked and still not really struggle. Hell, I do that just to make the game a bit more challenging in certain intermediate level areas.
ughhh well the way point fees are considered very expensive for my level 80 warrior.
my level 80 warrior has been walking, not using those way points unless there is no choice. no choice as in defeated and there is no friendly players nearby to revive my warrior.
for new low level characters the way point fees are still reasonable though.
anyway i still believe that defeated characters should be able to enter the heart of the mists freely.
I’d welcome more types, but I would like them to actually implement some of their existing types more thoroughly into the game first. I’ll focus on the Rabid prefix as an example, because I am a condition necro, and this is the stat loadout I’m looking for. As it stands currently, I cannot find Precision/Toughness/Condition Damage armor outside of exotic gear, and even then my options there are quite limited as well (only 4 of six pieces from karma, doing exploration runs of dungeons (I primarily WvW, so this isn’t a thrilling prospect), or by paying a fairly high amount for pieces of the Khilbron set on the TP).
So, while I would love more room for flexibility with stat loadouts, I’d like improvements on the availability of what they currently have first.
ow! i did not realize that.
errr anyway so are we able to craft exotic level 80 armor / weapons with rabid prefix / insignia?
by the way is your necro level 80 already ?
I agree, I don’t think we should be restricted to whatever ANet wants us to play. I want a build without Power but I am restricted to certain prefixes and pigeon holed into certain builds.
the current choices of available prefixes / insignias / inscriptions kinda does that right?
pigeon holes players into certain builds. T_T
erm … no one else wants more types of prefixes / insignias / inscriptions? >.<
And I knock people off cliffs all the time in WvW so dont know what your issue there is.
aaah thanks for sharing!
perhaps the warrior’s rifle 5th skill is simply not powerful enough to knock things off cliff / edge.
or perhaps PvE monsters cannot be knocked over cliff / edge etc?
can we replace prefixes with insignias?
insignias are great in guild wars 1
why there are no insignias in guild wars 2?
It’s a game we are playing, right?
that is correct. but you are playing anet’s game.
anet decided to have falling damage in gw2.
yes, you have the right to suggest for falling damage to be remove.
there may be others who support your suggestion.
though i think most will just reject your suggestion.
and ultimately it is up to anet to decide if they want to consider your suggestion.
personally i think anet will not consider removing falling damage as well.
The problem with the falling damage is that it isn’t consistent or at least doesn’t feel consistent. The Heolbrack example really nails it. The norn starting area for example are full of falls you will not survive. Since I was travelling from left to right I found myself dieing pretty often in the norn starting area from falling.
I am not sure if this a dynamic leveling issue, but I would suspect that. I can see why people want to keep falling damage, but it definitly needs a bit rebalancing, because my heroic character dies from falls where I as a person wouldn’t have got any injuries at all.
hmmm yeah now that you mentioned it, i think fall damage could be bugged.
i recall a time when my warrior was walking about in sparkfly fen (sunless undead dragon map) when i accidentally slipped near some edge.
that edge / cliff certainly did not look very tall to me as i survived higher falls but my warrior died from that fall anyway.
luckily someone was nearby and my warrior was revived though.
however i am sad that we cannot knock people over cliffs.
i suppose this is a bug. i better go over to the bug forum and report this.
I was under the impression that that was possible… hmmm…
yeah i thought about that too. perhaps the skill is not powerful enough?
i did recall having blown off some edge / cliff by some monsters i think.
i was collecting siege weapons pieces for the shatterer pre quest and was shooting ascalon ghosts on some high ground with a rifle as a warrior.
i tried knocking them over the edge with the 5th rifle skill but they would just stop at the edge, not toppling over.
Yeah, I’m not saying “get rid of GW 2”. Im suggesting that they re enable skill change on the fly (in towns), and perhaps stop the requirement of a skill type per button. IE: Stop making me put a healing skill in Skill Bar 5.
hmmmm well that be also known as an “elective mode (a term from diablo 3)” then.
but i think this one is set in stone aye, not going to change.
i think anet wants everyone to be responsible for their own heals etc.
perhaps there will be more builds diversity in the future when anet rolls out more healing skills, utility skills, elite skills or even new weapon skills?
the current setup
1 – 5 weapon skills
6 – 6 healing skill
7 – 9 utility skills
0 – 0 elite skill
is not going to change for the time being. errr for balance purposes i guess.
well we could ask for the return of insignias so at least we can better customize our stats yes?
I read through that to ensure that my point was made.. and Good God was that alot to read.
SHORT:
I called Guild Wars 1 “Build Wars”. It was a game where the 20 levels you had to go through until max were spent learning the mechanics. A game that started a Max and was ALL about developing clever builds to accomplish missions. A game where missions were not for fame/skill points etc. They were for Fun, Friendship, Challenge and to occasional Epic Skin for a weapon. A Game where you LOOKED the way you wanted to after years of work but could be ANYTHING do to the diversity in builds. A game that was ALL ABOUT Builds.Bring that back.
errr no. u need to play guild wars 1 for “build wars”
guild wars 2 is here to stay.
no build wars 2.
the other guilds treb was focusing on their front gates, while the rest maintain defence on victors bridge.
