its funny how many ka ppl come here and say they dont upgrade, yet every morning they have all keeps and garri’s in all maps fortified and wp’d. and then they say ka doesnt defend, yet they sit 30ppl in smc all day.

I wasnt aware there were any guilds named [Ka] and if there is i was not refering to them. My statement is not a cheap shot, im saying it appears i know your server, kaineng, better than you.

or you remove the godkitten ed AoE limit on certain skills in WvW already. this is one of the main, if not THE main aspect that rewards blobbing over <20 guild raids. if i, god forbid, place an explosive in a group of 50 stacked people, they will most probably ALL die, if the explosive was strong enough. not just 5 people. ALL of them.

you aren’t suppose/expected to defeat 5 times your number of human opponents anyway.

Skill exist and is important in WvW as long as the numbers aren’t ridiculously disproportionate. The hard rezing isn’t a problem. The number of opponents you decided to attack was. I’ve no problem about Yoloing myself into the fray but I won’t go whine about it when I hit the ground.

i’m not saying it should be easy to kill double your numbers or more and i am pretty sure that OP is not suggesting that either. but it’s a fact, that the combat system has it’s flaws when it comes to larger scale fights. to NOT complain about these flaws is not the way to get some improvements.
in the end, it is up to arena net to decide which course would be suited best, but until they reach a decision, it is up to US to suggest everything that comes to mind. even if it’s out of desperation and considered whining by some elite blob warriors.

By your logic if no AoE cap, a Guild group would even die faster, because your melee train is gonna take alot more damage where damage mitigation is basicly gone at that point, imagine a 50 man blob V 20 guild group, theres 10 necro’s in the enemy blob that means 20 wells on top if you proc’ing 1-2K if not more per pulse on not 5 but 20 people, you’d die even faster than usual, except if enemy blob is bad and can’t aim skills for kitten yeah then the guild group is at an advantage

cause most rangers can’t actually play ranger most go LB/GS cause they have no clue of the class mechanic, i myself despise any form of bow on ranger, i roll Sword/torch axe/dagger with some survival utilities and no i am not condi regen ranger nor celestial cause celestial itself needs a nerf

Also, to make it absolutely fair, they can remake it: damage of Retaliation will return some % of initial incoming damage.
Because now it pretty stupid: you hitting someone for 100 damage and receiving back 400? And someone who hitting for 9k and more damage will receive back 400 too?

So, let it will return, i.e. 20% of damage.
You hit someone for 100? Ok, take back 20 damage
You crit someone for 10k? No offense boy, but this is your 2k back.

And in this case they can don’t do anything else: no once per sec, nor condition damage etc.

you’ve never been full zerk ele in WvW, if that would happen all eles would not even bother using meteorstorm anymore cause of the often 4-5k meteors on 5 players

How to have a rewarding experience at GW2 WvW:

1. Find a guild
2. Now, find a guild with 3-4 people who actively enjoy doing WvW and every aspect of it, rather than just zerging
3. Set times to play that everyone will be online
4. Log into another server’s borderland
5. Look at the map
6. Using a VoIP server, explain to your new-found, WvW-loving guildies, that you see an enemy camp with your name on it
7. Using the terrain, sneak over to enemy camp
8. Explain with force, to the guards, why the camp is now yours
9. Look at the map
10. Find another camp, or even a tower that now has your name on it
11. Go take said tower or camp
12. Look at the map
13. Notice of anything you’ve taken has been “flipped”
14. If yes, then move to another Borderland, then repeat steps 5 thru 12
15. If no, then then repeat steps 5 thru 12

Pro-Tips:
- Have a group leader who watches the map and assigns targets for the group
- Have said leader “call targets”, or target the most dangerous of any other small group you run across, so that dangerous target is killed first
- Check Metabattle.com for “Roaming” builds, and build your class accordingly
- Use foods and oils
- Treat it as a “raid” or “dungeon” night and enjoy the experience

not all groups do PPT, i solo roam and i could care less for PPT i flip camps well used to before white swords removal to get some people to get me, i love outnumbered fights they keep you on edge ( despise that most people i fight now can’t do kitten to save themselves or run a cheesy condi build and /laugh when you run) but now i run around for an hour lucky to find a single roamer else its a 5+ man group or a zerg

Removing White Sword : Good or Bad?

On lower tiers it makes match up more balanced and more interesting. People stopped staring at the map for hours in a semi-afk state and are now playing the game. Actively scouting.

Also, defending is a lot more interesting since group of any size will now try to ninja your stuff. Before this change, a small group would never even dream to attack one of your upgraded tower. Now they give it a try. It creates interesting fights and a lot of action all the time.

idk what you’ve been drinking but if you think this i doubt ur often in WvW or ur on the stacked server of your tier, most lower tiers who are underpopulated are hurt badly by this can’t hold anything cause lack of scouts

Are you seeing more soloers? rarely
Are you seeing more havoc groups? nope ( cause can’t find them lololol)
Are you seeing more or less upgrades? way less most of time towers at north not even T2 when i’m on
Are you seeing more or less upgrades on particular structures? less on side keeps ( hills & bay, and sometimes garri when lucky)
Are you seeing more roaming scouts? nope cause lack of eu roamers
Are the main zergs smaller? If so any idea why? yes cause people cba to play anymore
Are you seeing more stationary scouts? if we could spare some maybe but nope
Are you doing more scouting than normal? i still do my regular map calls when i see zergs
Are you seeing more or less fighting than normal? way less used to find a fight every camp i flipped now i run around the most stacked server on my tier which is DB and barely see one.
Are you seeing people communicate more/less? i’d say more but don’t quote me on that since i play on offtimes

If this test event just brought out more K-Training on your server, well sorry to say but sounds to me your server is just a K-Train server to begin with. Sounds to me your server lacks decent roamers and scouters.

Let me guess.. Before this change you all stack on a commander and run around taking things while reacting to white swords on the map? Now with no white swords your stuff gets constantly flipped? YUP K-train server. Break out of your zerg for once..

Erm, no not really… I is on IOJ in [DOLO], and before the change we were only using white swords for fights… As for stacking on a commander… LOL, what commanders haha

Well we fought IoJ the week before this no white sword thing and I can tell you I solo/duo’ed a few of your towers when swords were in play. I did it to bring out fights which never came.. Like I said lack of scouts and roamers as far as I can see.

Yes I agree it is harder to scout everything but honestly 4 – 5 people on a map isn’t going to stop a karma train if that’s what the other server brings to your 4 – 5 players.

I like your suggestion though. Outnumbered buff should help more then just give us wxp, exp, mf and no armor repairs.

EDIT: Also if you are outnumbered you should be defending. You should have scouts around that will see attacks coming before the white swords appear. People relied on white swords to do the jobs of scouters and roamers and are now finding that they lack scouters and roamers..

T3 IOJ server. Since the patch WvW has basically died…every guild is rallying less numbers. In OCX prime we run around for hours looking for anything to fight…and when we find someone its usually 15v1..they died..rinse repeat for another few hours. The funny thing is, the other servers are rallying less as well…so its basically universal ‘well kitten this’ from everyone’. I think everyones gone to rearrange their fridge magnets instead of playing GW2.

aight i’m on ioj to, ever been around EU times 6pm? NNK & TFV spawncamp cause they’re bored, i don’t see zergs at EU anymore to play with so i basicly took my cheesiest solo roam build & ran out to fight people

I agree on this, look at my server Isle of Janthir, We’re in the kittenhole people call T3 ( most unbalanced tier OP) we’re off vs Nsp ( which is around our size & glicko rating so no problem) and DB or as i call em the dragonblob ( massively outnumbered us on any map we’re on and have a glicko rating off 200 higher than NSP which would equal to my server fighting Darkhaven) i am an EU player on NA so i play during our downtime at this time DB has around 2-3 guild groups running and spawncamp us in EB which destroys the fun for anyone. i posted a thread on here about adding white swords being added if outnumbered to balance it up a bit ( even though you can’t stop a 25+ man group with only 3 of you) but at least it will help you keep track of em and able to siege up before they get there.

Title says it all, if your outnumbered in your BL you should get white swords in my opinion, since your already lacking man power to counter the amount of people ( unless they’re really really really bad), since scouting will become harder due to lack of people and the chance theres siege anywhere in any tower is minimal.

Yeah, condition damage is good in this game. I think the OP is just way off the mark. It’s not about condition damage, it’s about the enemies that we fight in PvE that makes condition damage bad. Change the enemy mechanics, and you’ll improve the functionality of condition damage – because it’s good enough, there’s no need to buff condition damage on the sole needs of PvE when a more ideal solution is improving encounters.

i’m like all around player, i do WvW PvP and PvE(mostly speed runs dung), but 1 thing i always thought of a good idea in PvE only was, some condition should do more damage versus a specific monster likes weakness in Pokémon, example against mordrem burn would do 25% more damage ( cuz plants) and versus humans varrying armor & size bleeding would do X% more damage

My suggestion would be keep the system but make it easier, at the moment alot of the 25 point traits are hard to do at that level lower the requirement, my 2nd recommendation is remove the overgrown grub trait in WvW this is one is kitten near impossible even with a mass zerg its a way to long fight, and some others OH and 3rd recommendation, make it that the defenses in Orr are harder and do a legendary as the final boss but make it give a daily chest & trait making it easier to get than find a map that has attack open.

add my to the list started yesterday evening ingame chat works fine but kitten that latency tried to do world events, was in a TS and the boss died 2 minutes ago while i still fight it aka over 500+ ping ( yes i play from out of europe but this was redicioulous never had the problem) same with wvw today couldn’t do anything to help the zerg

so lets get this out off the way i know theres been kittening bout this but it has some good points, for the first time playing this game i have seen RANDOM people team up so i was in diessa plateau and the nageling giant was there i asked for help in MAP chat instantly 10 people show up while most off the time i get 1 random guy to help me so its a good system for these kind off things but it has its flaws on alot off aspects that you can find everywhere on the forums right now

So, i tried doing the Triple Play achievement, i started out and i did EVERY single defend event and completed it, so at the end of the cycle it said on the middle right (the message when you complete an event) with the medal saying that every defend event succeeded, when i check my achievements it shows 15/15 completed in the bar, but when i scrool down to the achi itself its still greyed out saying 0/1 ive added it to tracker and it still said 0%. any help?

So i’ve been running in Eotm for a whole week now and each time theres the chest (for killing the camp defender, tower lord, etcetc) i don’t get the badges, i see them in the chest but i just cannot take whatever i do and its bugging me real hard I probably missed out on 1k badges at least, and i just wanted to know if anyone else has this issue.

You are aware that the badges go into your wallet and not into your inventory?

Uhm, I’ve been in WvW long enough to know that, but i don’t see them adding in my wallet i still see them in the chest unable to be taken
