Why these leaderboards need to be reset.

There are some major issues that need to be resolved, before you remove solo queue from team queue.

Mainly, the 10 teams that will actually play in team queue will get bored of playing eachother and it will die.

There is something fundamentally wrong with tpvp right now and I’m not sure what the cause is, but why does everyone want solo queue and have no interest in making a actual team?

It should be more desirable to create a team then solo queue, everyone complains non stop about how good teams have it. Except no one wants to be bothered making/joining a team so they don’t have to deal with it.

I’m surprised there was like no super bunker teams, in the beginning in guild wars 1 the top GvG team had like 6 monk/mesmers that healed and slowly drained mana. a flag running ranger, and a warrior. Eventually either the other team would quit or slowly get warn downand start dying.

I was really expecting to see some sort of 3-4 bunker teams with 1-2 high surviability damage dealers.

I guess I just think with a major update with large updates for classes that changes a lot of the meta there should be a reset because everything changes then. Some people who benefited from things that were then changed should not be punished for what they did before the change.

Potentially their class might be a lot worse after that for example.

I don’t think we will see a TDM because that does not encourage combat, in a lot of ways. I mean consider having a entire team of theifs who just run and hide then all jump someone at the same time then go run and hide again.

That does not sound fun at all. Unless they find some way around that I don’t see it happening.

the leader board should reset sorry.

I often find that the top end players stop playing unless they have second accounts because “season” generally take too long in most games.

Rank Display not /rank

How about a way to display your leaderboard rank and not your /rank. I’m currently about rank 17 which is low but really I started playing late. Not a super good player by any means but I can hold my own. To me the /rank seems pointless and just shows dedication more then skill.

Any thoughts on having a way to show this? A good example is while I’ve been hovering anywhere from 45%-75% because I play all solo queue for the most part in tpvp I play with a lot of rank 45 warriors or around there because they just played a lot/ they were not very good because of game updates or whatever.

Just curious but after awards were given out for rank and what not, why do the rankings not reset? or was that just for points? Regardless we seem to of come to a end of a cycle so to speak with the last patch it seems to me that the tpvp ranks should be reset or is that just planned for a later date? Or does it at all?

With the last update as large as it was I see no reason not to give people more reason to play then starting everyone off at 0 again.

Retaliation range/aoe

Not sure what would be better but Retaliation either needs a range or to not be effected by aoe. Not sure why I’m taking damage from the other side of the map where an un-tripped trap is.

Well a short bow ranger you can never really get conditions off from them because the short bow is so fast and in some way I agree condition removal is almost useless in the game because they are added on so much.

That is kind of a bad area in game and its not just conditions, I mean if you interrupt things in the game they just do it again right away. To me if your casting something and its interrupted it should go on cooldown.

Some players in my guild are not showing up on the leaderboards for pvp. I have played with them myself and they were representing at the time.

I’ve played tpvp on and off and here are a few simple things I think need to be taken care of.

1. Downed abilities, there is nothing I would even consider close to balanced in downed abilities.

2. Turning invisible then flag planting someone is garbage, and makes the unbalanced downed abilities that much worse.

3. Why not have the matches winner stays, you play with your 5 man group or random pug 5 man group and if you win you keep getting another match until you lose.

4. having spvp I think killed the pay for tpvp, which would of been really nice if people actually played. However giving the average player the option to just join random people that they don’t have to talk to or try to get good with with always trump making an effort. This to me is one of the great failures of gw2, there is no reason to do anything with anyone so most people choose to.

Would you support GvG Arenas/ranking system?

I think that pvp is just an unfinished product right now, they liekly have the goals your talking about already I just suspect that they are in the process of making it happen.

However I will say that spvp kills tpvp, there would be a lot more tpvp if there was no spvp, which to me would make things better.

First off is having Gear sets much like your Armour set and your in town set, most people have more then 1 set of armour, switching gear sets out of combat 1 piece at a time is not fun. If we could have a 2nd armour slot then maybe have to buy them after that I think that is an ok idea.

This is my bigger idea and I don’t really understand why no game as not done this. Firstly I feel limited in the gear I can get/create I use a conditions build on my ranger and My 2 big stats are precision and Condition damage, For my third stat there really is no other good option then toughness. I can add other stats with my accessories of course but even those are limited.

My idea Allow us to create Armour with the stats/look we want. The general idea would be that each rarity of armour would have a preset amount of stats you could add lets say for an example : Exotic gear could have 100 points of stats.

Now as an example each crafting item would have a stat tied into it.

tier 6
Powerful Venom sac 25 condition damage
Vial of powerful blood 25 power etc
etc

Tier 5

Large bone 10 vitality
Large Claw 10 precision
etc etc

So if I was to make an exotic piece with 100 total stats I could use 5 of any crafting item to get those stats.

So for example a piece I might want, and of coarse this would need to be balanced better then my example I could make.

10 power
10 Vitality
10 Healing
10 Toughness
2% magic find “lets just say 2% is equal to a tier 5 item”

or I could make

Dev0’s helm 2

25 condition damage
25 precision
25 Toughness
25 Vitality

or whatever that massive amount of options I would have then that equal up to 100 stats and and then lets say the tier items below that would have lesser values to break it down even further.

Then I could also make the armour look how I want based on patterns I discover within game instead of a preset look I mean I’m making it why can’t I decide what it looks like?

Why even have a "ranger" class in most MMOs?

It is funny because when I think ranger, I think best class in GW1. The ranger class that was in GW1 would be the best class in GW2 if they were somehow carried over. It would actually be very interesting to see what class would be the best flag carrier in GvG if they had that in GW2.

Ranger was the best in the first game because it was easily the most well rounded it had everything. In this game I guess maybe Guardian would me a lot of sense or theif.

I have a dps set and a magic find set, I imagine some people have several sets, it is beyond annoying that we have to switch sets piece by piece. If we could have the option to set up at least a 2nd gear setup that would be amazing. I would say the gear of course could not be switched while in combat.

What's wrong with crafting

Crafting is profitable at 80 with say Exotic gear, I can make about a gold or slightly less on an item I make with generally most of the mats minus ectos. The issue is selling the mats is far more profitable. I farm mats all the time, one of the things I love to farm drop 3 different tier 6 crafting items, and the tier 5 ones as well. The the odd other items, you can make a ton of money off tier 6 crafting items that are not bones. I make more money by selling the mats and buying the items I want plain and simple. Now I have 2 sets of completely exotic gear for my ranger 1 dps and 1 magic find, which I might add I hate I think magic find was the worst add to this game.

Mainly because why would I use anything other then my MF set other then to show off my dps I guess. I hate that I’m forced to use it based on the fact that I make more money with it.

So I am pretty much just putting the finishing touches on my character. My dps set I use is a bleed centered build with a shortbow, my Superior Runes I have 3 2 set bonus’s all with 15% to bleed duration, everything else is some combo of Condition damage , precision, Power, then some toughness and vitality.

My spec is 20/25/20/5 I think, tho that changes a lot, most people don’t seem to think duration is important in conditions but it is extremely important and that is how you do most of your damage. Now I’m trying to figure out what weapon I should choose, Currently I’m using a Carrion Bow which is nice in terms of adding that vitality for more survivablity. I’m also considering a rampager bow which will do more damage at the cost of survivability. Then I came a cross Giver’s pearl Needler. which has Precision Vitality and 10% condition duration.

Thoughts on 10% condition duration vs 179 condition damage?

Also I love that it is precision and Vitality I wish there was a set that was vitality precision and condition damage.
