how do you use rampage as one in a rotation? the cooldown is forever.
I think it will work itself out, soloq is fresh and people wanna play it. I suspect after a few more days people will split up the 2 more.
yeah actually the only time I’ve not seen everyone in match was the first one after the patch.
So, first off I love skyhammer but I’m noticing more and more bugs with it. At home point with my spirits I run by the class in the floor making sure not to go on it hugging the wall as much as I can and the glass breaks.
Secondly I got 1 shot, magnet used on me and I instantly die without falling through the glass. In fact I wasn’t even close to the glass I suspect maybe the windows are actually larger then shown. As far as I can tell I’m not getting any lag, everything seems to be running smooth.
you can switch classes before the match starts, stop joining at the last second.
team arenas needs more glory reward then solo, that is obvious.

Because spirit rangers never lose? Your solution is don’t play ranger anymore, maybe you should stay in hotjoin, I never play it. Also as I see it 250 glory for winning is not that big a deal because people get that all the time, defending home point I get that once in awhile.
I’m kind of tired of not being rewarded for being a responsible player, just played a match and was a spirit ranger. I got home point, played against a fairly coordinated team their plan was home point and mid. So I sit at home, no one comes for awhile I go help at mid, theif is pretty much instantly at our base I run back he doesn’t fight me and is back in the fight. Same happens again later, so pretty much I have to sit at home and be responsible for it.
Needless to say match ends and I have 40 glory, Tourneys are a team based match there should be some sort of equal reward for winning and losing, so you don’t end up in zerg teams that are basically just farming kills and rez’s and whatever and forgetting strategy.
I propose you get 50% of the total score your team finishes with in glory, so Winning team gets 250 glory each and the losing team gets half of whatever they finish with. That way it at least rewards teams in a really close fight more then those who don’t work together.
In hotjoin I think it should remain the same it is right now.
This situation, as you have surmised, is probably going to be the hardest to fill. It will be filled by any players who queued solo for Team Arena, presumably because they want to climb both the Solo and the Team Arena leaderboards, despite not having a team. It’s not clear yet how many of these types of players there will be, relative to the number of 4 player teams queuing. So we’ll have to see how feasible this is long term and make adjustments if needed.
Sounds like a good reason to add an unranked queue someday!
No that is just another reason not to have unranked, why divide players more.
I find it interesting how uncompetitive the “series” are, I don’t know if the matches are 1 sided or not but only series in the entire tourney so far has had the losing team win a match.
yeah I’m not sure I see us AR getting any better anytime soon, while there is avast knowledge and skill base with most of the remaining players on AR in wvw. I can’t see the server getting the population to become overly competitive.
Also I’m willing to bet no server can beat a 15vs15 gvg that AR can put out if the tpvp group play.
there already is non competitive game mode its call server pvp.

I think Rangers in general are ment to be one of the better well rounded classes average at everything and this a very good 1v1 class. We have like 2 Utilities that are useful without traits, I don’t think other classes have that disadvantage, and I really feel that is what is hurting our build variety.
I think Traps, Spirits, Pet shouts and Signets should be seperated like the following.
Have a trap boost in the Marks tree and a spirit and a signet, then have 2 or 3 in Survival etc etc. The all or nothing of needing to put 30 points into 1 tree to make traps or spirits or whatever useful is what kills us.
I would like nothing more then to have say a Spirit, a trap and either lightening reflexes as my utilities, Something that could give us some real variety.
Also in terms of the pet shouts, I think they need to be completely reworked, what if they were instead more or less the pet abilities. Everyone wants more access to pet control what if they were attacks or atleast pet utilities. I think we can all agree for the most part pet shouts are usless considering their cooldowns and the pet nerfs.
So, seeing quite a few spirit rangers in this NA Pax tournament. If they are so easy to kill, why are top tier teams using them? They must be bad. This build must be balanced. rofl. I don’t want to eliminate viable builds for ranger—-I just want them to be balanced. I’ll keep a look out for teams using non-spirit rangers. But for now, I’m just going to laugh at everyone who keeps on thinking that it’s balanced.
How does teams using spirit rangers mean they are not balanced? Guards must also not be balanced please nerf them. Want to compare the 2? How many successful teams don’t use Guards? How many don’t use spirit Rangers? Or even better yet what can teams be successful without guards or spirit rangers? In the EU final a team made it with no Spirit ranger, where is the really strong team without a Guardian?
Does not really matter if 1 bracket is better then the other, in fact I’d say the team with the tougher road has a better chance. But in the end 1 team goes who cares if you make the semi finals in a weak bracket or the quarters in another you don’t win.
In any kind of group fight I always use my wolfs fear to stomp or res someone.
We are talking about a supposed DPS class whose only viable/op/imba/FOTM build is as SUPPORT because need a rework in each of their trait lines or weapons???

I have a ranger and, yes, we need more focus on the CLASS, but you should talk with Anet, because when i choosed a ranger i thought it was a DPS class not a support one , people use Spirits build because each time Rangers have a nice build Anet nerf it, now rangers only have one VIABLE build in SPvP, blame Anet not rangers.

I said spirit rangers specifically, and I still don’t think they require skill :S Other ranger builds, I reckon they would. It’s okay to be competitive, but it’s a build that needs to be looked at in the next balance patch. The other traitlines need to be looked at as well so rangers can stand their own ground without the pet. Ok I’m going to stop you from your misconception you seem to be having trouble with. No one wants to play spirit ranger, people defend it because it is 1. the only viable build we have by a mile 2. You are overstating how strong it is.
Here is a fact, for you if you die to a spirit ranger with no sun spirit up you are bad at this game. I mean seriously its time to reevaluate your idea of being competitive and making balance suggestions.
Rangers without our spirits can dodge a few times and do no damage, please don’t overstate how good we are with no spirits.
PVE rangers want Spirits and pets to be good, generally no pvp ranger wants that, it is awful, you don’t need to prove that to us.
Honestly give me a setup where I can make use 1 spirit and a trap and a stunbreaker like lightening reflexes and be really versitile like I think rangers should be and I will be happy. However the issue is with trait lines it is all or nothing for us. Just so happens that all can be really good or that nothing is really bad.

yeah I have to say this is a l2p issue, spirits are no longer half as effective as they used to me because everyone knows what to do with them. Yes I still dominate some bad players, but anyone good will.
How about Wars or Guards that walk up to me and 1 shot all my spirirts at once. I’m really glad I can recast them slowly because why would I ever use spirits if they are killed pretty much instantly.
Why are you crying about something for guardians which might need help and asking for Ranger nerfs. Your not making any point.
this gives the bonus to the ranger in most cases, not for the pet.
Frequently i see necros with 5, 6 or 7 minions at same time, spamming hits, conditions and body shelds for entire arena.
Rangers can spamm 5 or 6, and now they have stealth for remove target ans still dealing insane damage.
Mesmers… All here alredy knows how semi-god they are. No coments more.
Elementarists and Guardians can run with 3 or 4 minions disablind, dealing damage and condition, or being body shelds.
Engineers with all that things, and insane condition spammer…
Warriors… No, warriors haven’t summon.
I think the amount of summon, the health (summon), damage (summon) and capabilities, needs be balanced with status and capabilities of summoner.
Actully some classes have 3, 4 or 5 more tough, health and power that an warrior.Compare 5 Necros, Rangers, Engineers or Mesmers, all then with all summons, against 5 Warriors, all then with 4 bannes each.
- Just a massacre.

I have to think its fair to say we won’t see much balancing in the next patch, due to this tourny. I think it would be pretty rough to make any major changes besides fixes, so my guess is the patch after the next one might be a big one?
With pets being well not as good now to somewhat useless, even more so in pvp, I think adding something like Animal type bonus’s could be very useful. I think some of these would even help in seeing animal types that are not used as much.
Bird – maybe a crit Bonus or Crit chance bonus
Bear – Some sort of access to Stability
Canine – Maybe greater healing ability “mans best friend and all that”
Devourer – a toughness bonus
Feline – increased speed of either pet or ranger I tend to think pet is better no way my jaguar without traits or signet should still be as slow as I am.
Drake – Power increase
Moa – Increased boon duration
Porcine – HP bonus
Spider – either increased condition duration or condition damage

I think that players should get 25%-50% of their teams total score in Tournaments. winning team gets 125-250 glory which ever applies. In a tight match both teams will be rewarded well and teams that get run over don’t get much.
devs could choose which % they like best.

never going to happen your just asking for much longer queues and even worse team matching.
If they make spirit weapons have passive buffs + have their cd start when summoned + have better actives + apply passive buffs to all teammates. I will take away my complaint. Also, why have signets when you have spirits?

I think I’d rather a bonus based on score for winning and losing then individual scoring. As someone who covers home point I am always sacrificing getting more points because I’m not in the large fights getting lots of kills compared to others.
So I’ve been playing spirit Ranger recently to see how good they are, and it is actually a lot of fun. One thing that bothers me however is that the spirits start their cool down once you summon them, meaning enemies have very little incentive to kill spirits as they will likely be ready to summon again anyway, also with the trait Nature’s Revenge they will even be punished for doing so. The only spirit worth killing is the Elite one, for obvious reasons. Having nearly 100% up time on my utility spirits just feels unfair honestly, and that’s probably why the build is so strong right now. I suggest the cool down should be lowered to about 45 seconds, but only starts after the spirits die.
It seems like a bug that they recharge when you summon them. This isnt how minions work. So yeh, fix this bug please.
Okay I have to take back my words, it currently doesn’t reset the recharge when they die, but I’m almost 200% sure that they USED to because I remember having a lengthy discussion about them with Deku God, and that’s how he had explained it to me, of course this comversation was 2 patches ago.
Yeh. Spirit ranger is the most op thing in the game by far. It is also completely lame. You just put the things up. Dont even need to use utilities and yet have the best build in game? Seems legit.

If someone is actually having trouble with a spirit ranger, find a non-spirit ranger and put him/her on the spirit ranger. And where are all the spirit rangers anyway? The problem is the spirit ranger dominates team fights more than any other class. But it is also a beast in 1v1. You dont have to worry about much because its all passive. You dont have to worry about condi removal because you have emphatic bond and the healing spring.
It really is insanely op. The elite espicially. I thought they want to nerf resses (signet of undeath and illusion) and make the game less lame. I also thought they wanted to nerf things like timewarp which just used to win team fights by themselves. Elite spirit wins team fights by itself.

While I don’t mind playing my spirit ranger, we are far too dependent on other things other then ourselves. Trait wise we are handicapped into bypassing several good traits because spirits are pretty useless without 3 traits buffing them. All for something that 1 second can be killed by some classes.
I’d likely solo queue on team queue, if I don’t have a team at the time. At least then you can get team, rather then dealing with the mindless masses that will be solo queueing.
I would assume you can solo queue and up for team queue, but only solo queue for solo.
People need to realize that when you live stream in something, that sometimes thousands of people watch, that you have to watch what you say. Joking or not your wasting your time trying to plead for him, it will not happen.
He tied their hands with banning him, they would be so liable if something happened it would destroy the company. You have basically 0 chance of this ban being lifted.
I’m not sure why you should heal for more if you have a higher health pool, the advantage itself is that you start with more health why should you also have more health regen?
Just a thought what if there was a semi skilled way to by pass the downed state, and make someone completely dead when they fall if the finishing strike was done by a blast finisher? or something of that nature.
I don’t think it should be something easy to do it should be ideally something that can seperate the pros and the not so pros just in terms of who can do it slightly more often because it can be a big advantage, but also not easy to acheive when there is often large team fights.
I do think it adds a bit more tatics to fights that can give things an interesting twist.
Weapon skills seems like the obvious one each main hand or 2 handed weapon should have a stun breaker tied into a skill.
love the idea, as someone who started using IRC in High school, that being 17 years ago, ugh anyway I like irc and I like the community.
I think what most theifs on here don’t seem to realize is everyone hates the amount of stealth in the game and want it drastically cut. However theifs would clearly need a lot of help in other areas at that point then. We don’t want theifs to be bad, its just the in and out of stealth constantly is not fun.
Well I think because the pvp team has a wider range of things going on. Tpvp is less finished then wvw and pve, so to say they are going to aim at 1 thing or another wouldn’t be accurate.
People saying the devs don’t care about this or that are just being children, everything can not be fixed at once. Tpvp has a long way to go I’m sure they will not deny that, infact I bet they are hoping the new skills help the balance out more then anything.

That’s what Solo Queue is for.
All of your teammates are for the most part your own leaderboard ranking. Simply join solo and try to take people with you and form a team.
