Try this, s/d is for dodging/ re-positioning to keep bleed pressure up with sb.
I have played many mmos in the past and at least the most successful mmos I have played had incredibly good customer service (even a live support chat which proved to be very helpful) and the connection between players and devs was noticeable not only in the forums but also in the game.
There are always problems (that’s typical), but they are addressed very fast compared to Gw2. And its a shame because GW2 always had the potential to easily become the best mmo of the decade…
I think this is pretty unfair to be honest. I 100% agree this subject needs addressing, but it doens’t mean their customer service is bad. There are 100s of things they are working on and have actively said so, here and elsewhere. Give them a break and stop complaining about what they know is wrong and suggest ways to fix it instead.
No one is ever, EVER going to be 100% happy, no matter what Anet do…
Regarding their customer service… You haven’t played this game very long have you?
What? How is it sad? You could argue that it is one of the most dynamic weapon in the game… ere go the current discussion.

Hello everyone. Since HoT has been here I have been running sword/ torch. While many hate the sword it is actually my favorite ranger wep.
This is not my video but have found it very useful over the years.
Get your kite on friends
Staff 4 is like rolling a bowling bar at a moving target.
Enjoying it but feel very weak against heavy condi classes compared to cele.
Bristleback can land it’s f2 and it devastates glassier classes. You have to help it though, through our plentiful immob’s/ dazes/ knockdowns.
It’s all about lining up your burst. It is far from useless.
Was it traps by chance? There are some nasty combo’s out there with trapper druid. maybe a poison/ bleed trapper?
Still unsure but from the gameplay you’re describing your best bet would be to kite. Druid skills are all pbaoe so staying mid-to far range is your best bet and reflecting staff abilities. axe/ dagger is also easy to avoid if at range. If they are full condi they are more than likely running ws.
Did you see troll unguent active? If this is true that means they likely have very little to zero stability.
Don’t even know the off-hand? Can you give us other hints? Was it bleeding, poison, or burning damage that did you in? What did they use to heal? Pets?
Kinda sounds like off-hand axe combo with staff stun swap into glyphs.
Obvious start is glyphs with seeds trait.
Yes I said zerkers, Shatters from long range with what clone generating skills, or are you going melee and lose the GS damage.
Have you ever played Mesmer or you’re trolling? Anyway Gnite.
He’s either trolling or… woosh!
Free healing? A druid in ca form is a sitting duck.
I don’t see how they have any worse defense than normal form, AoE 4 second daze heal into a 4.5k AoE heal channel and/or huge damage slow AoE ending in an immobilize into another daze heal. Leave form and easily get back to it in around 10 seconds if you can aim your staff beam any good.
lol… you don’t play druid, or are playing the worst players ever. This chain is a pipe dream against anyone competent, and most druids aren’t even running mm. Those that are running mm, are zerkers with 0 healing. By all means though, keep trying.
Oh and could you please define “another daze heal”? where does that come from? And yeah i’ll just, “use my staff beam good” for 10 secs after leaving ca form… What could possibly go wrong in, 10 secs you say? I’ll just sit here and aa.
Yes as I said amulets with 0 healing heal too much with Druid. “Another daze heal” as in the skill only has a 5 second cooldown and lasts 4 seconds, cast it as soon as you enter form and use both 4 and 5 in either order and cast a daze again, leave the form and still have 25% left and easily charge it up if you can align the beam through your pet. If you have Quick Draw you can also cast it and then do 4/5 and cooldown will be over to cast it again, cast 5/4 and wait 2 seconds with a 2 or 1 and get a third off.
With 0 healing ca #3 does 2.4k healing, you are exaggerating. And now I’m running mm and skirmishing, which leaves the third as druid so no nature magic, ws, or bm??
Why the hell would someone let me cast a daze twice?! who are you playing against and what magic build is this? How is me healing my pet to slowly gain af helping my team? I just don’t get it. Please stop filling this thread with garbage.

And druid counters DH quite well in my exp.
Good for you! So let’s not keep pummeling the druid. Has taken a lot of nerf bats to the face in it’s brief existence despite being far from as dominating as other specs/ classes go.
Did you just get in an argument with yourself?
No I’m six beers deep and misqouted Now for the seventh.
if u still cant kill a druid 2 v 1…its must be a l2p issue….druid before nerf they are kitten OP but now they are tanky but killable
This guy gets it. Druid is pretty easily locked down. Looooong cast times with very obvious animations. But I suppose typing a complaint is easier than working on game play.
And druid counters DH quite well in my exp.
Indeed it has! Just bringing it up again because it hasn’t been implemented. Especially as it is more relevant than ever.
A simple request really. With We Heal As One becoming a building block to many builds it would be very nice to see what buffs are on our pets.
It might just be my brain; but… as a fight drags on, I find it very difficult to blindly keep track.
glyph of alignment/ equality w/ verdant etching along with hoelbrek, evasive purity, and ca form are plenty of condi clear if played right. Especially with high up time of protection, regen, and steady stream of healing has given me enough sustain to last through a fight.
It gets even better in wvw, with lemongrass poultry. I have wiped the floor with all the condi-cheese builds out there.
The only time condi’s have overwhelmed me was when I was kittened already.
Sigh… good times.
Was running p/p balth, rabid scrapper with ft, elix b, s, and stealth gyro hgh and aristocracy runes. Was so much fun, constantly dipping in and out of stealth to condi bomb.
25 might stacks coupled with blowtorch is pretty sweet.
In pvp at least, AF generation needs to be greatly increased as well. It’s just pathetic in the state it is in right now… then maybe (if the last 3 years are evidence then nm) we can move onto synergy with the core class?
Here’s a wild thought… how about let us control all of our pet abilities?
In the same boat as you op. Luckily, sd scrapper is a kitten load of fun. Hopefully, a-net fixes this disaster of a class… it’s not like we’ve been waiting for years or anything.
With that being said, my zerker ranger was doing very well with new pets… but it’s too little compared to all the new toys every other class has.
The smoke-scale swap change was the nail in the coffin.
Here’s to hoping but not expecting
Funny, my other thought was something along the lines of the old MoC shortbow/ gs, lock down build we saw a long time ago.
Anyone else toyed with the idea of running a perplex druid? With all these dazes and what not… seems intriguing at the very least.
LR is amazing, even w/o ws. With that out of the way, a smoke trap with a stun break would be great. Could tank inside it’s blind pulses or leap through it to gain stealth/ re-position.
But ranger not allowed nice thins
Although… should be quite strong in SH.
Traps in spvp is rough.
The velocity on staff 4 should be faster, especially with a 3/4 cast time. Very difficult to hit atm.
I would like to see chill or weakness incorporated, maybe on staff 2? This would benefit condi, dps, or bunker. Maybe poison… rangers are all about poison
And not sure what the point of avatar 5 is? Seems very out of place with the rest of the abilities. This has been suggested but swapping staff 5 and avatar 5 would make more sense. Although staff 5 is great for stomping.
Overall; while very useful, seems very watered down. Staff should be more offensive while celest should be all about support healing imo (yin and yang stuff ya’know).
I have been using something similar. Same ability set up; however, I am using crusader ammy with scholar runes. Speed trait in druid, int sigil instead of rage. Am enjoying it

How I’d like to see SB, skill wise.
Would be happy with something like this.
Ahh rats, it didn’t x-fer the picture as well
I’m really excited about electric wyvern for pvp, hoping it does more dmg than wolf Think it could be a nice counterplay to a bird.
Sword leap + quickdraw in dino smoke field could be interesting.
Does anyone know what the tiger’s abilities are? I don’t remember them saying anything about it.
There is no way they intended for us to be able to perma-blind someone and not have the pets f2 work.
Ok, the bug is with the trait go for the eyes, just switched it off and now the f2 is working.
Although… the blind bug is pretty nice lol
Yeah, wanted to compare condi dmg and nothing
I will be trying sword torch, with all the cc available to us bonfire is looking pretty sweet.
I believe it gets powered from damage as well. Going off memory here if’n I’m wrong. Lazy…
Keep calm and ranger on.
They haven’t even gotten to balance fixes. Correct me if I’m wrong but he did state there were many of those as well. SO, our ranger specs can still get some love. Pet’s look great as well which will help all builds.
I don’t want to get out the jump to conclusions map but I think we are getting the overhaul we’ve been waiting for. Hopefully de-bugged at the least.
Good to day to be a Ranger imo
Drool… so many, possibilities.
If it’s not broke don’t err, aww, I did that wrong…
I am hoping so. Despite horrible pathing; micro-managing the pet is a lot of fun. For me at least. Also, being able to control more than just one of their abilities, would add another level of game play to the class. Not holding my breath though.
Rev and berserker will get a lot of taunt once HoT hits. If you defend the unavoidable taunt with narrow mind thought simply because of ranger’s vulnerability, then you’re in for a big surprise.
Change taunt to be evade-able/blind-able and compensate ranger for other soft CC (eg. 2s chill/slow etc) along with taunt to make pet more useful.
Most rangers here aren’t debating on whether it should be blind-able/ evaded, as most use combo’s to set it up in the first place. We are sick of hearing of how it’s a faceroll skill that requires nothing more than the bat of an eye to land.
Play a ranger and go pvp. Try and get it to consistently land EXACTLY when you want it to w/o using some sort of prior cc, or getting in face-tank range/ pet swap to land it.
The only issue is taunt working through dodge. With how core a mechanic dodging is, nothing in PvP should go through it. Only PvE enemies should have skills that work through dodge.
Taunt really isn’the that different from stun or fear otherwise.
I guarantee 90% of the people complaining here would still be qq’ing even if it didn’t go through dodge. For some reason they choose to ignore the slow moving pet meandering towards them and then complain about the “insta cast”.
If they are paying that little attention to the pet the dodge will only save them if they are randomly dodging and get lucky.
I think it’s more that, in order to win the fight you have to go past the pet to get to the ranger, so avoiding the taunt entirely really isn’the possible. It needs to be instant cast with how pets work (I main MM I would know) but I can understand the frslustration. The lack of available counter play is obnoxious.
If you can’t figure out a way to get past a very slow dumb ai then the problem is not with the ranger or their pet.
Lol, is it just me or does no one know what kiting is in this game?
Warrior will have access to taunt as well.
Seriously? This has been beaten to death in the ranger forums. If you can’t avoid the tiny range you are either not paying attention, or are already in the middle of a combo which you should have gotten out of in the first place. It is not hard to avoid a pet.
Try playing a ranger and getting taunt to land exactly when you want it to.
Pets immediately root themselves when upon activating f2. So if the pet is sitting in your lap you deserve it, or the ranger deserves the reward of setting it up to where it can be successfully landed.
It’s a new ability, and it’s not going anywhere. Adapt and profit.
And if you’re really that concerned about it, just kill the kittening pet, it is the only GM trait in the game that can be completely taken away from a class in a fight.
Or I dunno… kite away from it. Not a hard thing to do with the HORRIFIC pathing in place.
