I heard guild halls would be added later on. That’s probably why you need the last architecture upgrade. Get it now so you don’t have to wait later

Not enough Events for Daily achievement

I don’t think hearts count as events for the daily. Why do you need to complete them in 2 hours? Or do you mean you only have 2 hours to play?

I’d suggest getting used to an area. You’ll then know which events spawn there and in which chains. Wiki should be a help with this.
Example, Cursed shore has the grenth event which is 7-8 events chained together.

Broken Dynamic Events

Protip: when you see a broken event, stand in the middle of it and press esc. Then click support. Then Bug report. Then enter as many details as possible.

MMOs are huge undertakings with many people working on many things. What is crucial is info, lots and lots of info. If we report what we see and even better if we report what we see when the bug first occurs, ANet can pinpoint the problem and fix it.

Game rolling back to previously time...

around 3-4AM UTC, I got dc and couldn’t log back in. Later I logged back in and was rolled back to an area I was in much earlier and it seems the drops I had gotten in the 10-30 mins before getting dc were gone.

This was in cursed shore.
At 2-3 AM UTC Gunnars Hold Server we waited for plinx to spawn but he didn’t, so instead we went to gather orichalcum. Then later we recaptured shelters and were escorting Jofast. (3-4 AM UTC) I got 2 rares and then got dc.

As I said I couldn’t log back in until later, when I noticed I was back at the waiting spot and nowhere near jofasts camp.

I know anet doesn’t do refunds of this stuff and I’m not asking for any, just trying to give as much info as possible as to the when and where so they can pinpoint this stuff.

Charname was Don_Zardeone
I use an azerty keyboard (someone said that matters)

DE idea: Help researcher gather grubs in Cursed Shore

in Dynamic Events

Posted by: Don Zardeone.8730

Don Zardeone.8730

Ok so I heard that grubfarming has been blocked with an in-game message. We used to grubfarm when there was nothing else to do.

A giant in Cursed shore would throw grubs at people. We didn’t kill the giant, we just killed the grubs.

Now this farm has been blocked by an in-game message. I haven’t seen it yet but I read about it on the forum. But these grubs could be used for an event chain.

Backstory: Researcher Ploo has set out to create an improved version of the hylek poison turret and for that he needs access to powerful poisons, more specifically, he needs to know how grubs are so good at poisoning people. So he needs grub cadavers.

He heard that Giants, with their giant hands and awful smell, attract, dig up and throw grubs.

Chain part1 Escort researcher ploo to the location where the giant was last spotted.
Start at the entrance to Cursed Shore, North East corner. Researcher Ploo just got to the area and needs an escort to the Caer Shadowfain waypoint (first town you get to) or a bit to the west of that.
The usual stuff spawns to attack you. You have to protect Ploo and his Dolyak carrying the giant stupification device.

Issue might be that this are has 3-4 events already with Plix, the champion that knocks people down and the Blix event with his escort down to penitent… Maybe move the Ploo event idea more to the west…

Event complete: go to chain part 2
Event fail: Ploo goes back home only to come back some time later.

Chain part 2 Defend researcher Ploo while he sets up the giant stupification device.
Ploo needs to be protected while he sets up a device that lures the giant to the area.

The usual waves spawn to come and prevent this from succeeding

Event complete: Goto chain part 3
Event fail: Ploo goes to Caer shadowfain waypoint town and waits for the other events with Plix or whatever his name is to bring suppliesso he can try building the stupification device again.

Chain part 3 Help Ploo gather grub carcasses by fooling the champion giant.
Now a champion giant shows up and starts throwing grubs and barfs poison, the usual. Ploo will run around the area to grab the carcasses of the dead grubs but since he’s running around, he aggros all kinds of mobs.
He needs 5-10 minutes worth of carcasses.

Secondary objectives:
- Protect Ploo, if he dies you have to revive him.

- Protect the stupification device, if it breaks, the giant runs off and event fails

- Don’t kill the giant, if he dies, the project fails and event fails

Dynamic changes:
- If the stupification device takes damage (or every x seconds or every 10 carcasses found), it has a chance to malfunction. It still functions, but in the usual Asuran “mal” way. “Oh no, it works -too- good. My genius impresses even me!” and another 2-3 veteran giants show up, or giant jelly or it starts attracting veteran sparks.

- If the giant takes too much damage, Ploo overcharges the stupification device to knock everyone around it down for 3 seconds while he yells “Stupid Bookahs, we’re here for grubs, not giants!! Do I have to do everything myself again?” This obviously damages the stupification device which makes it "mal"function again.
This happens at the 66% and 33% hp mark.

Event complete: goto chain part 4
Event fail: Ploo yells at people and goes back home. Eventchain restarts in a few hours.

Chain part 4: kill the Angered Champion Risen Giant
Ploo deactivates the giant stupification device. The giant summons 20 grubs but then eats them, returning his hp to max. Now everyone wails on the giant until he dies or until he regains his senses and walks off again or teleports away.

Event complete if he dies within the time limit
Event fail if he is alive after the time limit

R.I.P Grubbing

NOOOO, My grubbies

The penitent DEs were flooded with people and it was getting harder to get a few hits in so I’d go do some grubs for a while.

How are we supposed to gather stuff if they remove the ways of gathering this stuff?

Events are already bugging out after the reset. These were like mini events you could do. Now the real grind will happen.
Once all the events are bugged again, we’ll have to just kill random mobs that spawn on the roads, like last time when the giant bugged, all events except 2 were bugged and all we did was… kill random mobs on the roads.

Can’t they make it into a DE?
I just had an awesome DE idea for cursed shore/orr, ima post it in dynamic events forum.

So... Does Every Class Suck, Or...?

Didn’t read all comments, but for the OP:

I started as warrior and then “noticed” that elementalists were outdamaging me. This was up to the point where I’d get no loot and mobs died before I got there.

I’m not the type that complains about things being OP before fully investigating. I made an ele to see what the class feels like so I’d have a better understanding of why I was being beaten.
Turns out that ele has this entire attunement stuff making it all complicated, no weaponswaps, are squishy and weren’t outdamaging me. I simply hit the antifarm or I didn’t have enough swiftness to get to mobs fast enough.

The game has been out for a month. The amount of people who can without a doubt say that one class is strong than the other is very close to zero. You need to have played and 80’d those classes to be able to make a good comparison.

For example, rangers, I thought they were good at aoe tagging with that barrage skill until I rolled a ranger and noticed the recharge/recycle, the low damage (it’s like hundred blades, the damage adds up to a total, not high individual hits) and that they were getting their tags from traps instead. I also learned that due to condition builds, they make good 1 target farmers, dropping enemies quite fast so during event downtimes, I find one of the shortbow rangers and kill stuff with her/him.

Judging from looking at the forums, nearly everybody thinks nearly everybody else is more powerful.

There are legitimate complaints though, for the bugged traits and whatnot. I believe the casters were hit hard by that but those things get fixed.

Combo Fields: Learn Them Already People!

I’m hammer warrior 99% of the time.

1. I see field..
2. EARTHSHAKAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
3. Sparkles everywhere
4. YEY

My second weapon is bow, which has a F1 fire field for 9 seconds and bow3 is a blast finisher. That’s triple might and burning.

If I see a water field, ima splash that thing no matter what.

Guardian fields seem an issue though because some of them have super short durations. Other fields seem ok.

Eles/Rangers I play with know that I’ll jump any water field I see. When I roam areas with guildies, they know I take advantage of any combo fields, especially healing fields so they’re more likely to spec for fields. They also know I will push mobs out of enemy fields or into friendly fields (latter is harder to do) and they know I almost always open with a knockdown, snare or EARTHSHAKAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA, giving them an incentive to use fields/aoe. Eles will whip out their staff instead of daggers.

I played axe for a while. The F1 is a leap (hammer F1 is blast) and it charges quickly so I’d try to always combo it. Most common is the fire field so I’d have a fire armor that burns everyone near me while I whirl and shoot burning bullets everywhere.

Combos are awesome and should be used and learned.

I learned them by just equipping a bow in DE’s and looking at the popups, then earthshaking with them.
