I’m not getting the power of the mists bonuses in PvE.
I transferred from the Gunnars Hold EU server to Jade Quarry NA over a week ago. Fellow transferees have the bonuses, I do not.
What I mean is, they can get multiple harvests from nodes while I get only the basic ones.
When I hover over the wvw icon, it shows nothing.
A long time ago I didn’t have the bonuses either. This was since release up to the time where an update fixed it.
Maybe I’m missing something. Is there a longer waiting period?
I’m now going through all the pets in-game, going to give them a test run and update the list accordingly.
There are a lot of things that need looking into, marked with ???, but also things that at first glance look correct but aren’t.
For example, the arctodus attack hits twice, so it creates 2 stacks of bleeding instead of just one.
I found the jaguar stealth only works for the pet itself, but, it deals damage while still in stealth.
Drakes don’t use tail swipe so their blast finisher is never used. It would be awesome if it wasn’t bugged, we’d use drakes to blast finish into our healing spring for mass heals.
I want a lion =3
Maybe in the Elona expansion, assuming there will be one =3

Pet overview stat database by Don Zardeone
WHAT IT DOES
Shows you the stats, and most importantly, the internal skill effects each pet has.
When you look at a moa, you see a big bird that pecks at enemies. At first glance you won’t see that it has a big party heal!
You won’t see that felines have vulnerability stacks. Etc.
Now with this thing you can glance at the big picture and make quick decisions on which pets to grab.
It’s color coded (sorry colorblind people, I tried though) for your convenience.
It has parts marked with ??? which warrant further investigation as I’m not sure what it means exactly.
The “conclusions” page is empty because I’m getting errors from google if I try to edit it.
Long story:
So I have a level 25-30ish ranger and I’m asking around to see if anyone has any good builds or tips and all I get are extremely vague.
“You should use longbow and sword.”
“Why?”
“Because it’s good”
I appreciate the help people give me but I’m a super weird guy. I need to see all them stats.
I looked around and asked around and didn’t find any existing state sheets so I made my own.
More junk like this is over at www.oblhq.com somewhere. (And more will come.)
Toodles!
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0Aq5-HmAtegFadHlodDE0cWt6eFROS0k3S2U5Q3ViMEE I’ll make a new thread to properly release it
Thanks!
Looking for a sort of overview though. Like a list with all the stuff combined in one view. All the sites I’ve seen, even wiki, have you click through stuff.
I’m 62% done
Any list of pets with an overview of stats and skills? Has anyone made this yet?
Otherwise I’ll make it. I’m 10% complete.

“I farmed the materials myself so they’re free!”
It takes me 20 min to hop on my two 80’s and run around Orr. I usually end up with around 60 omnomberries
With few omnomberries available to farm, i simply can’t believe anyone can get 30-60 of them in 20 minutes. I would love to see a 20 minute video
Hi I’m Don and I’m a daily ori run leader. I lead ori runs every day. oblhq.com/nodes
There’s some specifications. Runs take at max 50 minutes. We mine ori, rich mith (that is on the way), ancient wood (unless far away from the main ori route) and omnomberries.
So I know what i’m talking about when talking about yield per run.
In one run we pass through cursed shore, malchors leap, southsun cove and frostgorge.
At the end of a run we have about 15 omnomberries average.
There’s 5 in cs, 6 in ml, none in frostgorge and none in southsun for a total of 11 nodes maximum. Sometimes they’re in harder to reach spots that aren’t worth going through unless you have a team that knows what it is doing, so unlucky spread nets maybe 7-8 berries, lucky spread all 11.
Sometimes you can get lucky and get two berries from one node. That’s 11 unlucky or 22 maximum luck, 8 with minimum luck taking the wide spread from above.
The recent update reintroduced the wvw bonus bug. Not everyone gets the wvw bonus for multiple harvests. With the bonuses at maximum luck you’ll get 4 harvests of the same node, assuming maximum luck in the above also, you get optimal spread, double berries and quadruple harvests so you get 88 berries at absolute maximum luck, 8 with minimum luck.
Nobody has absolute maximum luck, there’s too much RNG. From what I’ve seen, 15-17 berries per run is a good average. Running just ML and CS is about 35 minutes minimum, usually more. Taking 40 minutes as a good per character time, you have 80 minutes to get about 30 or so berries on two characters. To get 60 berries you’d need 160 minutes (almost 3 hours) and 4 characters.
Thus 20 minutes to get 60 berries is an impossibility =3
The best way to get any of these materials is to buy them with gold.
Just look into these:
Time spent to get 100 cloth
Time spent to get 100 leather
Time spent to get 100 ore
Time spent to make money to buy 100 of any of the above
Because there are no popular guides for “cloth farming” or “leather farming”, I’m assuming that this isn’t a lucrative way to spend your time. This means there are ways to make more money in less time so logic dictates you should first doublecheck if cloth and leatherfarming is lucrative, then if this isn’t the case, farm something else that is more lucrative and buy those materials. This means you don’t have to worry about salvaging anything.
This also means you can take advantage of the ores, mine them, sell them and fund your crafting through the materials of another!
For realism though, it would be interesting to mine wool off of dolyaks and spin them into cloths or “mine” cows for leather.
I haven’t been doing much of overworld mosnter drop loot farming recently, but I did throw 400 minor sigils into the MF.
100 transmutations later I had 16 major sigils and rest minors.
Transmuting the rest I got 19 major total
No it was an exploit that allowed people to make stacks of ectos with little effort. It’s why ectos dropped almost 30% in price. They’re going back up now.
I’d say, good job anet for fixing important stuff like that
Thanks for the replies. I’ll try the targeting thing but our runs have at least 10, up to 30 or more people in them. Everything goes pretty fast, will have to see if the node can still be targeted. So we tend to just go in the vicinity of the node until we get the “mine” key. If a portal shows up out of nowhere some get sent off :/
On our server we do orichalcum mining runs. They generate about 3 gold per hour and we have two different groups doing them.
One group is more childish, the other, our group, is more mature about it. All we want is to mine in peace, go out there, grab the nodes, have a chat, make some money and carry on.
The other group now decided it would be funny to sabotage our group by putting portals on top of the nodes we’re harvesting.
Pressing the use key will let you harvest.. but if there is a portal over it, you take the portal, sending you halfway across the map.
When trying to report this abusive behavior, we only have the following options:
- Botting
- Inappropriate character name
- Spamming
- Verbal Abuse
- Scamming
- Selling Gold
None of these resemble the exploitation of a skill for the griefing of another player.
Which should we use and if possible, could Griefing be added as an option?
Could portals be removed in PvE or could portals be given a different activation key?
So I’m a hammer mace/shield warrior in dungeons. I have 7 interrupts total. I block and weaken, stun and interrupt all kinds of things. I’m an interruption machine.
I’ve seen that my interrupts give the “interrupt” message whenever I proc an interrupt on a skill that the boss uses. Whether he is in defiant or not.
I have seen those bosses get interrupted whenever I used the interrupt on them (exception below) whether they had defiant up or not.
A few skills can’t be interrupted or they channel in multiple waves so if you interrupt one part, the rest still goes through. At least, that’s what I think happens.
But now I have people telling me that all my interrupts are not interrupts at all. That they are just bugs and that it is only possible to interrupt if all stacks of defiant have been removed from the boss.
So there are two statements and I want to know which one is correct.
1. Defiant prevents all “control” mechanics (except fear) and interrupts are also control so interrupts will not actually interrupt anything while defiant is up.
OR
2. Interrupts hit through defiant no matter how many stacks of defiant there are.
Which one is correct?
I’ll bet 1 silver it’s prep for the wintersday stuff
Hammer: This is one is amazing. ‘nuff said.
Mace: Got some nice utility.
Sword: Awesome due to it’s utility.
Axe: Very, very nice damage.
Greatsword: Not worth the Adrenaline.
Rifle: Same as axe, just not as quick to fire.
Longbow: I guess it is alright if you’re a Condition build.
^what this guy says
+ longbow is a firefield that gives your team 3 stacks of might if you blast finish into it. (bow3 is blast finisher)
Ok I know what an interrupt is, but hear me out.
I play a warrior hammer mace/shield or hammer mace mace or hammer bow.
In dungeons I basically default to disrupting the crap out of a boss, interrupting everything the boss does.
Whenever I interrupt the boss, it says “interrupt” in floaty letters above him.
Do only I see that or can the rest of my team see that too?
We found the gold.
He had 5/20 mails which seems to have been 15/10 and then deleted a bunch to show my mails.
=D
I sent 10 gold to a friend (loan) and it didn’t arrive. Subsequent tries with 1 copper also didn’t arrive. He can mail me stuff but I can’t mail him stuff.
This has been about 24-48 hours ago.
He’s not lying. I checked.
We’re lions rowr =3
Fear… me?
It need more psychopath. A huge beast with bond villain complex that really really -wants- others to fear it.
It grabs you by the throat, looks you deep in your eyes and won’t drop the stare until you do so, until you really, fear.
FEAR ME
FEEAARRRRRR MEEEEEEEEEEE
what we have right now is a dumbo opening a book that has one word written on the first page “fear” and on the second page it says “me”
the end.
Do away with servers and just have districts like in GW1.
This messes up wvw but…
Turn wvw into house vs house. Guilds can join a house that fights for a deity or purpose or whatever. 3 houses fight on the battlefield. There is a maximum of houses set by the game (as many as there are servers now)
Every guild is randomly assigned a house and can swap houses for an amount of influence every 14 days (swapping loses all upgrades). Add limitations like capping the membercount of each house (like servers seem to have when they go full)
There we go, no more having to try out servers, maps are relatively filled now and there is no need to worry about server transfers since there are none.
rata sum will have polymock arenas and maybe that golem chess thing
Got back to game 3 days ago.
3 days so far, with logging out normally, I cannot buy anything and my “sell your stuff” window is blank.
I lost connection tot he login server, couldn’t connect for a minute and then I connected and now it works again
Got back to game 3 days ago.
3 days so far, with logging out normally, I cannot buy anything and my “sell your stuff” window is blank.
Cannot buy or sell anything and gemcount doesn’t show up.
I can fix it by resetting my router.
I have that too AND I can’t buy or sell anything. The button is greyed out. I have enough money to buy stuff it isn’t that.
The only way I can get it to show again is to reboot my router >.<
agree with everyone else
new system is cats
7 keys 2 skins
15 characters
You don’t need to hit the dragon. You can just kill the adds and get gold every time.
There’s no way i’m going to waste all my glorious CC by whacking at the toes of a dragon. i’m gonna brutalise his minions instead.
EARTH SHAKAAAA
Lowest graphics settings because I’m cheap.
I like this, I like armor that looks functional. Only need to find better shoulders.
It’s heritage armor with guild chest
rowr
Because rawr
that’s why
Afaik the point of hb is to proc things on strike or on critical or to generate adrenaline.
It’s how I use it and how I use the rifle3 and axe5.
I now take my leave from this thread
I manage the node page on oblhq.com. I’ve been thinking of doing something similar. But instead of cutting up the map, I figured just putting the nodes on one big map might be better.
I was going to combine the previous weeks of nodemaps we have, add nodemaps from other servers to it and have a master list of possible node locations.
But that requires time and effort. Too lazy to do it myself.
Also, from the looks of it, they can spawn anywhere. Frostgorge is predictable in that it never spawns in the bottom right quad of the map (so far) but cursed shore and malchors leap have stuff spawn all over the place.
They didn’t buy from karma vendors to sell on TP. That was impossible. You may be confusing it with people having stacks of those ingredients because they didn’t want to make the trip every time. Those people had an advantage when the ingredients went from account bound to sellable.
I believe the reasoning behind removing the karma foods was because it made chef too easy. ANet wanted chef to be complicated
The interrupts still hit so you can neuter some bosses’ damage output.
Hammer has 5 target aoe as opposed to the GS 3 target aoe, coupled with the larger range of hammer aoe, allows you to tag adds in a bossfight more easily, allowing easy rally.
Depending on situation, hammer4 is useful to push adds away from boss.
GS F1 doesn’t really do much. Hammer F1 stuns everything for 2 seconds (or at least interrupts the boss). This can be used creatively to mess with the AI. But it, once again, allows you to control the adds.
GS F1 doesn’t really do much. Hammer F1 is a blast finisher. You can heal your party, give might to your party, give retaliation, etc., by using combo fields. Since you’re most likely standing in the middle of several combo fields when you’re fighting a boss, just jump in place.
caveat: As pure hammer warrior I’m biased
Dude.
The shore, it is cursed. There’s spooky things that pop up and vanish.
Cursed Shore o.o
Would like more storage in general. 8 tabs isn’t enough imo
Maybe this is a bug, maybe this is a feature, don’t know.
We were 4 guildies and 1 pug doing CM explorable path 1. The pug stood around most of the time. When he wasn’t afk he called us noobs. Then later he called us noobs, went outside to afk, we followed him, did a votekick, and the entire party was kicked out.
What’s going on?
I would like more bank tabs too. Where else am I going to keep all my outfits for my mesmer? XD
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Janissary
Janissary: a heavy armored rifle profession, no pistols. Axes at short range.
If the gods went poof then the dervish might as well have become guards, specialised in long range rifles, keep enemies at a distance, sniping, etc.
300g GS = nothing, 15 war horn + mystic Forge stones = Legend

I agree, warrior should have more bugs so they can be patched so we can make a presence in the update notes
They’re the GW2 equivalent of mending wammos.
In GW1, mending gave a relatively passive regeneration boon. This was incredibly powerful at low level. You could solo mobs 1v1, farm stuff etc. But at higher level those 2 pips of regen were peanuts but they still kept using it.
The deep strikes warriors are the same. They use a build that worked amazingly well at low level.. but works bad at high level. Or at least not as efficient.
They’re giving up their utility slots. They lose knockbacks, knockdowns, mass cripples, aoe condition removal, damage boosts, etc.
I’d love to go to other areas but waypoint costs are too high. Make them free and I’ll be all over the place. Keep them this high and I’ll stay in cursed shore.
- Only those with rights can plant the banner
- The banner seems to stay for about an hour (not sure)
- You have to talk to the banner to get the buff
- You can get the buff for as long as the banner is there. So if the banner is there for 1 hour (I think) you can get a total of 89 minutes of the buff.
2 reasons imo, kids and 1c undercutting.
1. It’s weekend so all the kids are zerging DEs, getting drops, selling to tp. More supply vs relatively stable demand means cheaper prices.
2. When you go to sell something, it shows you the highest buyer price and the lowest seller price and asks you if you want to put it at that price or not. You don’t see other people’s sale offers.
The first guy who sees an item being sold by someone else at 12.45 will sell his at 12.44
A hundred more people like that make it go to 11.44 and this keeps going until you get to near the highest offer.
If you could instead see the full list of sell offers, you would see that for example 500 people offer at 1300, 1 at 1299, 2 at 1298, 1 at 1297 etc. A person would then just list his price at 1300 to join the other 500 people.
But you don’t see those unless you go do a “buy more from tp” and that requires effort and people are lazy.
I know I’m lazy. I just list for whatever the lowest seller is.
