Agreed! There are a ton of trash players that hate this map for what ever reason. But these behaviors not only make this map un-fun they make players hate the map even more then they may already do, resulting in less players. Keep playing the map an work at mastering the map. Only then will you become one with the map! lol
All I am saying is there must be more to it! maybe the current system isn’t upgradeable. Maybe this requires a complete reprogramming of the function for it to work. Yes! it isn’t alright for a Dev to suggest that something is in the works and then nothing for 6 months. Hopefully one of the Devs will comment soon. I hear rumor that pvp has something coming soon, lots of speculation but we will see!

I had a match that started 4v5 today, we won but it’s still annoying.
We’re working on a solution that is both fair and, hopefully, doesn’t waste people’s time. Not ready to talk about the details yet, but I will say we have definitely incorporated a lot of the community’s feedback. Unfortunately, it won’t be in this feature build because it’s part of a major refactoring of our back-end systems.
Working? details? download and install every single moba in the world and check how queue work there:
1) you queue up
2) you wait
3) when queue is rdy game ask you to confirm with a countdown
4) if someone do not confirm during countdown it will removed from queue and another player will get it
5) repeat point 4 till you have 10 player rdy and goAbout people leaving\going afk after countdown, do like smite: people who got too much ragequit\afk\dc get banished from ranked queue (yeah im meany but people with 150 childs and\or bad connection can do hotjoin rather than ruin fun for other people who want to ranked queue).
You have not to discover wheels. You have to copy it from every other game.
Ps. everyone has won a 4vs5 at least once. This is not a argument. 4vs5 are crappy designed queue system regardless winning or losing
PPs. and stop to say “we cant change queue system cause to few people do pvp and you have to wait too much” blablabla… because people atm isnt doing pvp because you are NOT doing these things.

Well it sucks that you suck at Skyhammer and don’t enjoy the map at all. Great news is that your not alone! However this map is staying!! Its not going anywhere!!! Your stuck with it!!! I personally like this map and play it with all 8 classes with the same success. I never have to change the class Im playing maybe just a few traits or a skill. But to make this a bit constructive I would like to suggest some changes to the map to make play a bit different then just falling to your death.
First change would be to make it where after you fall there is a long stair way back to the top. This still gives the people that like the pulling, pushing and falling what they want but gives the others a chance to run up the stairs and get back in the action. Instead of dying you are just out of the match till you run up the stairs. This could also create some fights on the stairs. Falling from the Skyhammer however still results in death!
Second change- I would make it harder for the glass to break out. I Believe Asuran make better glass then that. Maybe only the Skyhammer breaks the glass something like that.

Player vs. Player[edit]
In order to determine rank, rating is used. This rating takes into account the player’s rating, the opponent’s rating, and then adjusts your post-game rating accordingly. If the player wins against a very low ranked opponent, and the player is a highly ranked opponent, the player will gain fewer points than if he defeated someone above himself in rating. It is possible for a player to have a higher rating even if they haven’t played as many games as another player – number of games does not guarantee a high rating.
The rankings are account based, not character based; The most recently logged character is the name that appears as the current leaderboard name. Player rating is based on tournament matches only. Leaving a match will count as a loss. In order to be ranked on the leaderboard a minimum of 10 games need to be played.
These leaderboards are updated every hour.

This model is or was used in competitive chess.
To be honest, I think the system sucks. After a few wins your rank significantly increases matching you against other teams with a better overall rank on the leader board. From what I know of this formula and of what tweaks GW2 has made to it that it takes an overall rank from all 5 players giving the team an average not the player. This is also how soloQ is designed and why teams are balanced the way they are. The system balances each team by rank (MMR not your win % or your rank) organizing each team into 5 players with an average rank. This is why I believe you sometimes get a total noob on your team. Just what I know about this topic- see you in game!
This games PvP has been a toilet since it was released. The updates are far and few between. Not sure who the fool is that decides what gets priority over other updates/ Upgrades but this person should have his job evaluated. Justin, You said they where working on something over 6 months ago. I personally haven’t had a 4v5 in several months but I know and hear people talking about it every day. I also know many players who have been absent from game for months because of this issue and a few others that are neglected or overseen by the dev’s responsible for PvP.

Must be playing hotjoin! Very rarely to I ever get a 4v5. Its been months.
Crazy they added such garbage like assassin’s but can’t even add a simple vendor in the Mists for our banks. We still have to completely leave the area or carry around some sort of vendor so we can bank all the crap!
You totally miss the point. And we at least know that there are new maps.
I really feel that this patch was a huge let down for the pvp community! I am very disappointed and may consider moving on for a bit. I average around $40 a month on this game for gems and what not, and maybe thats not a lot but thats almost 3 times more then I would pay playing some game with a subscription fee. I even feel that the game balance is maybe worse then it was pre patch, maybe thats because we figured out how to handle those classes that where a tad OP. Maybe!

Same issue last night! However my character made the stopping movement but didn’t stomp. I stomped one guy 6 times before be just bled out and died! Hopefully this gets fixed soon!

The patch could’ve been much better, but people are still forgetting one very imporant thing:

First off I have played turret engi since the day this game came out. I don’t usually play meta builds because well most of the time they are no fun. I also like to play builds I think should have been created just for the class ( turrets for engi, Minions for Necro, spirit weapons for guard and so on) I rate myself above average in skill and again I have played my turret engi since day one. I remember well over a year ago locking down points and having people call me cheesy for playing turrets in a conquest mode game (turret engi was way bad then). Since then there where some minor tweaks to the build and a huge surge of players started running turrets to counter Skyhammer. Then when these same folks started using this build in all matches everyone started to cry. Why you ask?? ( created a spread sheet the last 3 weeks to outline why I believe people hate the spec)
Reason one- 78.32% of all players I faced on point ran straight in and allowed my thumper turret punch them down.
Reason two- 69.99% of all players I faced ran on point and stood inside my turrets while flame turret and rocket turret just freely casted them to death.
Reason three- 64.92% of all players faced ran in and attempted to focus down my healing turret while taking damage from the other 3 turrets. once the healing turret was destroyed they where knocked back and kill shortly after.
Listen, These top 3 examples of players in TPvP arena’s fighting me is funny because these are good examples of what not to do when killing a turret engi.

What are we supposed to do them? Run away and let you dominate the point uncontested the whole game.
Dominating a point is what a turret engi or any other bunker build does, thats their job! Every Bunker class has its weakness and every bunker class has its disadvantages. Good players know these. If you know the weakness of the turret engi you will dominate him. First off you have to out play the bunker class and be a better player. Trust me no bunker engi stands there and auto attacks. If so you should be able to out play him. If you are a high risk high damage class/build first off you have no business going solo against any bunker class especially the Turret engi! This is a team game, use your team to dominate points, Not the little ole Engi!

I saw a turret placed floating in the air above the point in temple, is that a new buff?
No its a terrible bug that happens all the time. I have been reporting this behavior for over a year in game. Sometimes this happens to me on Mine for one map and on windmill in Khilo. Not sure it it effects damage to or from the turret but happens to me most every night.
Having played engineer since the beginning, this is only the SECOND complaint about engi’s after HGH and even then no one says it’s overpowered, only that it’s extremely annoying.
I take it you missed the whole decap engi situation earlier this year.
That said, the AI is too strong. Turrets do need a major damage nerf. They should become more about supporting the engi build and not BE the entire engi build. There is a difference.

You still thinks thats turret dmg what killing you?:-P Thats funny:-) FYI that turrets hits you for like 1k every 4s (I am sure this must be gamebreaking) or so what killing you is massive condi damage (because every good turret engi runs Rabid) and condi proces from non turret related traits runes and sigils. Nerf turrets dmg? Fine with me you will still die in same time:-)
Turret engi is so easy to counter OMFG so easy.. And its also so easy be some ranger who throw 20s in row all attacks into reflects and then cry how engi is OP while he kill himself by his own attacks..

If I remember the correctly from discussions with our server programmer, this is something we could add as a “nice to have” check in the matchmaking system, but I don’t think it could be something that would be 100% required to start a game. As you mentioned, making this a requirement for roster creation would add a considerable amount of time to the queue.
Not to mention every match has 10 players and there’s only 8 professions. 4v4, anetpls.

Hey all,
Thanks for the comments. These events are a community endeavor, and I will always try to make changes that will make these tournaments a better experience for everyone. I understand where a lot of you are coming from in terms of sign-up timing, especially for those of you that haven’t had an opportunity to see how their profession would change in the coming weeks with the balance patch.
Because of the World Tournament Series event in Beijing, and everything that goes into making that a reality, we’re running on a very tight schedule. The first weekend of qualifiers is scheduled for just after the feature pack – September 13th and 14th. Starting any later than that begins to put our event at risk, as we’re already pushing the comfort zone.
I’m willing to entertain ideas/suggestions for the sign-ups and timing, but we can’t delay the first qualifier.
I guess the working man will have to miss out on a tournament again. thanks!
Was there any doubt in people’s mind that EU had 3 clear cut teams above all the rest?
That means the 1 seed will have it easier until the finals, because 2 and 3 face each other before hand.
Not that it matters, because I’m sure Team Mist feels they could have a rule specifically for them that they have to play all 7 teams in the ToL in order to win. Barring disconnects or some outside influence they probably would too.
It’s unfortunate that the team and mistpedia had to part ways because of this. That relationship resulted in quality improvements to streams and resulted in some unknown streams being discovered or newly created.
Regardless, The only real issue to me was that Mistpedia only worked with the one team. Had they help build other successful teams and promoted other teams I don’t think it would have been an issue. However they only had one team, “The Flagship Team” and regardless if there was any favoritism it still looks bad. The other issue I had was some of the players bad behavior from time to time while streaming and representing Mistpedia.
I agree this should wait till after ToL2 and Balance changes.
I also think you should look at who is running this tournament because there are some concerns about the folks running ToL2 ( not sure if there are plans for them to run tournament of Glory). I personally think there are some integrity issues with the group. Not sure who it may be but someone is killing the integrity of the ToL2.
Also I think postponing the sign ups after some of the changes gives some of the new teams a chance to get together and play.
basicaly all concerns with Mistpedia running ToL where a lack of transparency, which they promised to change. so be nice to them, yes things didnt go perfectly but thats in the past now and lets just move on.
Just saying someone from Anet should look at it before continuing. I think the whole system they used is a joke along with the weekly tournaments they run. There are some Integrity issues over at Mistpedia, not sure who it is or it could have just been common human error. I recommend checking out the other posts involving the concerns of the current tournament that has taken way to long in the first place. But to not derail the current post here. There are many concerns about pushing ahead with another tournament before the current one is over.
Random seeds would still be better. I think there was a mistake made, I believe there was some human error involved. Maybe no one intended for this to happen and just maybe it won’t happen again. But covering it up with newspaper isn’t the best way to go about it. You guys should stop answering these post because you are backing yourself into a corner. Go about your business and make things better. Your apology and action was enough and now your have fueled more issues.
Once a company has integrity issues they always do unless someone loses their job!
Who ever changed the bracket should lose their job or Anet should pull their support from the group responsible for the ToL2.
I also know about 20+ players that would love to participate in weekly tournaments but because they are run by MistPedia including myself. I guess thats why some of the NA tournaments have less then 8 teams sign up some weeks. Maybe!
I don’t believe MistPedia is an evil leader but someone should step down ( the guy who changed the bracket).
I enjoy Blu’s shout casting and he has come along way from the first time I saw him over a year ago. I would love to participate in the weekly events especially the 2v2 but they start to early for me, I have asked in forums and by sending Blu messages about changing the time but Iv never got a reply. I would love to see MistPedia work on helping more teams join by offering to help get them to a level to compete with some of these top teams. I would like to see them promote getting players together to form teams and how to go about doing so. I struggle with getting the same guys together every night and someone helping would improve the integrity of this company.

Team Mist is good and will more then likely win anyway but it would have been good to see things more consistent for the integrity of the team and the organization. Sad that someone thought they needed this advantage to make the finals. I also had a issue with Cheese mode being ranked so high as well. Especially since their two best members are now on team Mist. Basically a new team and should have been seeded much lower. All star teams where a huge joke too just saying!

I really like this idea and have spoke on it before. I manually track win loss totals for the day/night. I don’t care much to see who did the most damage or healing, but I wouldn’t mind seeing stats like points captured, how long you held a point while contested simple stuff like that but especially the Win Lose totals for the day. Would love some more pvp achievements seems like I am running low on the ones to complete. Going to start playing thief to unlock the rest.
I like this map. I like stoping the orb runner and I would welcome this map being added to the rotation. I feel that the same about it as I do skyhammer and that is the new players dislike the map because they die a lot. I also think the vet hates them because there are something different from the normal game modes. Even tho many cry daily about wanting new games modes. fact is they don’t adjust very well to change. Spirit watch is good and should be in the rotation. Its hard to please everyone.
Good point! I remember a “READY UP” where they showed us some new maps and some possible new game modes. God seems forever now. Queues are getting longer, especially in non-peak hours. Don’t get me wrong still the best PvP out there currently in my opinion but it will not take much to shift my attention to a new game. The reward tracks are great but are growing stale. Very little Collaboration going on here. Just keep nerfing everything and it will be fine! Might be time for a break for a few months…………
First I would like to reply to some of your ideas and then second I will post my thoughts.
removal of skyhammer and spirit watch from soloq- I disagree with removing these from soloq. I like these maps and the change they bring. However I do hate that these maps seem to pop for frequent then others. I would like to see that balanced some how.
Balancing:
- s/d thief (2 0 0 6 6): toning down either damage or survivability?- warrior: either toning down damage with tank amulets or survivability?- if necessary lower the might stacks cap in PvP to 15?- air/fire sigils: set amount of damage, no scaling with might/power?- remove/change passive damage procs (IP)?- nerf AI damage. AI should be about support not damage. (MM, Turrets)?- buffs to useless traits/skills
- I completely disagree with toning these down. I do agree with setting a limit on might stacking. I think if you reduce might stacking you will have less people running those builds. AI is not a problem it requires some thought and skill to take them down. Their damage was reduced some months ago and the damage is not the same. Each class with AI builds for the most part give up a lot to use those mechanics. Every build has its counter, just because you don’t run the counter build doesn’t mean its broken.

- 2v2 arenas + teamQ. another map, more simple than courtyard(too much stuff on it).
- capture the flag: new map with 2 base, middle flag spawn. flag carrier gets own set of skills. make block pickup impossible, guardian focus. 5vs5. allow flag steal from enemy base. Good ideas!
New Weapon/Utility Skills:
give us new weapon or utility skills. support skills for some classes would be nice. especially for arenas/cptf.
New Reward Tracks with unique PvP rewards:
new tracks for pre wardrobe pvp-only available gears?new tracks with new pvp-only available gears
NPCs:
A bank NPC?A TP NPC- good ideas.
My own thought’s-
I would like to see some changes in the matchmaking. Needs to be at least a limit of rank or number or tournaments played before you can make the leader board. Something is broken with matchmaking in general, I hate that you get a few wins and now your team is playing guys in the top 10 of the leaderboard. Never feels balanced seems like its always one side or the other.
I would like to see some changes to reduce the pure power builds. Maybe the answer is in reducing might stacking maybe its not. Just seems like everyone uses power builds. I know there are many counters but you don’t always know what the other guy is really running.
I would like to see some new maps!
I want a new game mode!
I would love some new weapon types or open up types to other classes.
If skyhammer or spirit watch pop-up, quit the game and do something else for 15 minutes. Problem solved.
Note: Only works for people who do not care about the leaderboards or their W/L and just play to have fun.

Why not have both and charge me some money for mounts. I could see millions of dollars made here! Wonder how much the lute or flute even the harp have made?? Why not mounts. However I don’t want them spending any time or money on mounts if it could take away from the new pvp patch in 6-10 months. lol
I wonder is this issue with the smallest version of asuran toons or all sizes? I have the largest asuran version on a few characters and don’t seem to see what most imply.
