There is no option to turn off description windows, that I know of. You could try to get a gaming mouse and press more buttons, instead of clicking skills.
Go revisit the Chantry of Secrets through the asura portal in Fort Trinity. Some people claim this helps.
If I’m not mistaken, Tyrro is the NPC who’s in the vicinity of the Consortium house and the new dungeon portal.
Still missing on Desolation.
BTW, since no one else mentioned it, in game this globe is located in the Chantry of Secrets.
Stick around, maybe someone else comes and maybe he/she can trigger the wall collapse. If it doesn’t work, try to do it again after the patch, and maybe it will work then.
I have the same issue ever since BW3. Since then, I used the repair function once, and also completely uninstalled and reinstalled the game. The problem persists. My old thread with screenshots is here.
I’m not at all a computer savvy, but I was just wondering same as KazNaka, if your video card is overheating. Do you know how to take it out and blow the dust off it? Maybe it solves the problem.
BTW, did you just start playing GW2, or your problem started just now, and you had no issues in the past with the game?
@styx: Read this.
Still missing on Desolation as well. I hope to see them tomorrow, after the patch.
Did you go back to Chantry of Secrets the waypoint way, or through Fort Trinity asura gate?
I think you are experiencing the same problem discussed here.
Open the map and shift+click what you want to link in chat.
I did all 4 achievements this morning. Open up the Wiki pages and the Dulfy pages, and travel around between the known locations. If you can’t find the chests or the events aren’t already going, try again at the later time. It’s possible there are more spawn locations that aren’t documented.
Some people have stated that you can get the gifts of exploration by revisiting the Chantry of Secrets, not by waypointing, but by traveling there via the asura portal in Fort Trinity. Worth a check at least.
As Vardys said, Vent is a program for voice communication. Other popular options you will notice would be TS3 (TeamSpeak) or Mumble.
Read this.
How did you do the cross-check? Did you use the areas lists here on the Wiki? It helped me get my explorer achievements.
Anet didn’t post the latest server ratings yesterday/today, so I can’t tell you that. Make a topic on the WvW section, maybe you’ll get your answer there.
This puzzle is indeed bugged for many people. It was bugged for me both last night and this morning on Desolation server.
Move again on another server in 7 days, or hope for a color change of your server in the next matchup.
It is not bugged. You are indeed missing something. If you don’t want spoilers, explore some more. If you don’t care about that, read the spoilers here.
Plinx is not a What, is a Who. There’s an NPC in Cursed Shore called Plinx.
I’m trying to remember this by looking at the Wiki maps. Is that one at Kapellenburg? As stated above, try to hug the door and see if you get the PoI. Or kill some more in the area, until you get a key drop. Or sit around and wait for someone else to show up with a key.
Go to Metrica Province, at the Thaumanova Reactor. There you can at least get the 60 kills and 15 kill variety. By the time you are done, you might encounter some events there, even the fire boss chain. Gathering you can do absolutely anywhere, but as others stated, you might try to farm the ori nodes. And if in the end you’re lacking events, go to Penitent Path in Cursed Shore.
You’re not in combat, so can’t you just waypoint somewhere? Or the game doesn’t let you do that?
Happened to me too, and it might be caused by situations when your skill bar gets changed to something else. As I remember, the first time it happened to me was when I got out of a keg brawl match, and another time when I got off a mortar.
You’re not alone. From time to time, a node suddenly appears on my mini map, and then suddenly disappears a few seconds later.
Maybe the stuff here might help.
Ok, it seems that since Halloween event, you can access that area by entering a portal in the ruins just west of Wyrmblood Waypoint. The area is a mini dungeon called Forsaken Halls.
It seems to be possible, though I haven’t done it myself. I once got this answer here, which reminds me I really need to check up on that place, for completeness’ sake.
Hmm, you might be bugged then. Still, try to do some tests. Recheck to see if you have everything ticked, including the lower stuff such as emotes or game messages. Do an emote such as /sit. See if it appears in chat. Say something like ‘lol’ and see if it appears. Kill a mob and loot it. See if the loot you get appears on chat. See if your damage numbers appear. Stay in LA, which should be the busiest hub, and see if anyone chats. If none of these works, then you are bugged, or I’m really missing something.
LA also counts. Did you check it?
I’m offline, but if I remember correctly, there is a wheel next to the word ‘main’ of your main chat tab. Click it and see if you have the chat channels ticked. Or maybe you deleted the main tab more or less by mistake? Do you have it?
Drag the corner of the mini map and extend it as much as possible, before trying to move it. This way you will have more room to get a clear place between the buttons on the right side of the mini map.
Just saw a thread in the ‘Game bugs’ section. They are missing on more than 1 server. Mods, feel free to close this thread.
Thank you.
Can confirm this too. They’re missing on the Desolation server.
You get 100% of the Shiverpeaks maps by finding all WP’s, PoI’s, Vistas, and doing the Hearts and skill points. On top of this, there are areas on the maps that contain none of the above, and count towards the Shiverpeaks explorer achievement. Basically, you have to explore every subzone in all the Shiverpeaks maps to get the achievement. Look at the 6 lists here, and compare your maps with the subzones lists.
Hey everyone. I have 36/37 dives, and, according to the Wiki, I’m missing the dive from the floating bridge in Metrica Province. The problem is, I can’t find the goggles there. Are they bugged, or have been relocated elsewhere? Does anyone know? I’m on the Desolation server.
Thank you.
To complete the map, you need to explore 100% of all the 6 cities, all the PvE maps, all 4 WvW maps, plus the Chantry of Secrets. Spend a little bit of coin and travel from one area to another and check their completion status. Shouldn’t take more than 30 min to check everything in PvE. If everything is 100% complete there, queue for WvW and check those maps too.
I remember that boss encounter. A bit frustrating, but doable. Don’t’ trust me 100% on this, since the fight was a bit hectic for me, but this is what I did and what I think happens. The boss has 2 stages. In stage one he is surrounded by a lot of minions patrolling around him, and has a powerful earth type hit. Stay around a pillar and pull the minions with ranged attacks and kill them behind the pillar one by one. Once they’re dead, stage 2 begins and all the NPC’s in your party are auto rezzed. Now you can nuke the boss for a while. Then, after a while, stage 1 begins again. Rinse and repeat until the boss is dead. As I said don’t count on this 100%, but this is how I think my fight went. Maybe someone else here can confirm or disconfirm this.
Those are the ratings as of Nov 2nd. They should be up to date.
See ingame what servers you are up against. Compare this with the bracket your server is in, as presented in the lists. Normally the bracket in the list should match the ingame situation.
Look at the 2 lists here. The servers that are located first in every bracket of 3 is a green server. For example the servers on positions 1, 4, 7, etc.
The story mode dungeons basically familiarize you with the characters from Destiny’s Edge. You will not be able to finish your personal story without doing the Arah dungeon story mode, so until then, for roleplaying and story reasons, it would be nice to do all the previous dungeons. I also recommend to do them in their natural order, because doing them at random would be like reading a book from the end towards the beginning, or something similar.
According to Wiki, you can unlock the chests with 11 orbs, but you need all 12 orbs for the achievement. I used the video below to do the puzzle and get the achievement:
Since you have all the hearts and skill challenges completed, my guess is you still have to explore the cities in full.
Ahh, interesting, good to know for further check.
Weird, when I (almost) finished exploring the Shiverpeaks, I was also missing one area, found out it was Ulukk’s Hunger, and when I went there I just had to go very close to the door there to unfog that area. Maybe I was really lucky, or maybe it’s enough to just go there and hug that door.
