That’s the number of the achievement points you have.
If you double click the apparatus in your inventory, it will indeed consume the candy corn and will change your skill bar. One of the new buttons is set for ether matter. If you click it, it should reveal the small ghost close to the NPC. I’m not 100% certain, but i think you can interact with the ghost if other players used the device and uncovered her. So you might be able to save your candy corn. All you have to do then is talk to her. The ghost is really small, so pay close attention to the surrounding of the Priory NPC because she can be hard to spot, especially if there are a bunch of players close by.
Thank you all for your input. Three questions, though.
1. How do people tell how damaged is a wall/door? Just by guesstimating the length of the ‘health’ bar? Or by some other way, and I’m missing it?
2. Is it Ok to take supply from a keep if it is uncontested, has a regular yak dropping supply to it, and I have blueprints and I need supply to build siege weapons there?
3. The base I’m in is under attack. Should I spend it’s resources on building extra defensive weapons or to repair the door the enemy is slamming?
Thank you.
Check out this site to see what armor is available, and what you might like to obtain.
Hey guys. Last night I finally reached 100% world exploration, and finished my personal story. So far I only entered WvW for the purpose of map completion. So for me it’s about time to jump a little into WvW and see what I can do for my server.
Does anyone have any tips or input on what can a WvW newb do for starters? Should I start with playing on EB or one of the BL’s? Should I be on offense with the zergs, or stay defense? Should I build anything or better not, since deployed weapons might have to be placed in strategic locations better known by the veterans?
Any input is appreciated.
Thank you.
PS: BTW I totally suck at PvP, and I stay away from sPvP as far as possible.
As far as I know from other posters, the servers can go from Full to High at hours with less activity. The server transfers are still free, and you can transfer once every 24 hours.
Did you check all 6 cities?
Indeed, as soon as I saw the main page, it struck me as odd. I think Dibrom is right about the Audio and BLTC icons being the ones changed.
There are 3 trait tiers. The first tier is unlocked with an Adept Book, the second with a Master Book, and the third with a Grandmaster Book. How many tiers you managed to unlock so far? How many points can you put at max in a single trait line (for example Explosives)? From what I read, I understand you successfully used the Master book, and you should have 2 tiers unlocked. In theory, nothing would stop you to use the Grandmaster book now, you should’ve been able to use it since level 60. If this is indeed the case, then the only conclusion would be that you are bugged. Go to a trainer, make him reset your points and see if you can then use the Gm book. Maybe that works.
You can skip Orr. There are no hearts there.
Silly question, but why don’t you just buy a mic?
Yes, you can. Buy a rune you like, apply it on your armor, and it will replace the old rune. If the rune is Minor, if you buy two identical runes and put them on 2 pieces of armor, you get both bonuses of the runes.
I don’t think so. I saw people complaining about the lack of this option in the WvW forums.
I see. Thank you.
Hey guys.
I noticed that if I right-click someone’s name from chat, some people give the option to party up with, some people don’t. Does anyone know why?
Thank you.
Use ctrl+shift+h to turn on and off the UI.

To add further explanation to my previous post: I checked yesterday to see if I can travel from FT to VK, then went back, went to CoW, then back, then to DP, and back. I never actually exited the enclosed zones with the portals and didn’t request access back from the gate keepers. So, here I admit I’m in the dark, I just assumed they would allow access no question asked.
Did you check exactly all 6 cities, all the PvE maps and all 4 WvW maps? Somewhere there has to be less than 100% completion, otherwise you are really really bugged. I know you said you did check, but do a list of all of zones, and recheck them all. Cross out every zone checked, until you’re done, or you find the culprit.
All 3 routes work both ways. I checked this yesterday evening.
To ad at Sarisa’s post. Yes, you can travel between the two zones via the asura portals, but only after you actually reached Straits of Devastation by foot and unlocked the asura gates.
Edit: ninja’d.
Thank you for the answers. As for the AC thing, I just used it at random as an example, had no idea f/u is specific to a single dungeon.
Go to the Chantry of Secrets again. I heard that fixes it.
I noticed (at least on my server) people saying stuff such as: LF2M AC expl f/u. I know the rest of the acronyms, but what does f/u mean?
Thank you.
Once you get to a PoI, vista, etc. in WvW is stays there. It doesn’t reset every week. You either got bugged, or maybe you have everything still there but got a little confused. I’m just wondering. Did your server change colors this week? If yes, maybe you’re looking at the wrong map.
Some of the choices will result in going on a personal story path instead of another. On that particular character you will lose the ability to see the other story paths, but with an alternate character or grouping with a friend doing his/her personal story, you can eventually see all the paths. Bear in mind that even after you finish creating your character you will have to make decisions from time to time on which way to proceed. On everything, really just pick whatever suits you, whatever you seem to like most.
PS: About the headgear. If you like the one you chose, do not throw it away after you find one with better stats. I think you can transmute it’s skin. Many people ask on the forums how can they get back their starting helms they threw away.
The OP’s problem seems to be that the current GL is offline a lot. I wonder if sending a petition to Anet might be of any help. Worth a try anyway. BTW you don’t get any warning such as ‘are you really sure…’ when leaving a guild? I’m just wondering, I’m not in a guild yet.
Whenever there is a need to find something, just Youtube it.
About the Story… I played (and still play, because I’m not yet in Orr) the game exactly like you. All low level areas, then next tier of areas, and so on. Anytime I was in a zone that had story line elements in it, I was doing the story until it was sending me in a higher level area, and then I was resuming the story when I was getting there through exploring. The good thing was that I was always overleveling the story line, so I had no major issues with it so far. The downside is the fact that the rewards were on the same level as the story line, so I had to vendor pretty much all the rewards because I was already having better gear from drops. Still, I found this downside not so important, and I’m glad I play the game as I do. When I’ll finally reach the end of the story line, I will most probably get 100% world exploration also, plus I’m not bored as other people who rushed the content seem to be.
I wonder if you know or not about the portal in Divinity’s Reach (Rurikton area) that sends you straight to Ebonhawke in Fields of Ruin.
Is that the PoI in the far North East? I seem to recall you have to get through the portal that’s on the West side of the map, under Thaumanova (sp?).
Firstly, you should point out if you’re looking for a EU or NA server. Secondly, it seems that even though servers may be high/full, most people are concentrated in either the lowest areas or the highest. I haven’t reached Orr yet even though I’ve been playing since pre-launch, but I think that’s where I will find a whole bunch or my server mates.
Also, as far as I understood from other forum posts, servers go from full to high and back depending on how many people are logged in. In prime time our servers might be full, whereas early mornings they might be high.
I haven’t used bow in a while, but I think you can equip the signet that gives you energy when used and then using the F1 skill should create a fire field. Again, this is from memories, haven’t used a bow in quite a while.
You or your friend have to transfer servers. Since you are on different servers you can’t play together. This is bound to change when the guesting feature will be implemented, but until then, just make your friend transfer to you for free and once every 24 hours, and you can play together.
I assume that since you bought 4 runes, they are Major, and you bought them to get all 4 bonuses. You are probably mistaken when saying you put one on a weapon. Runes can only be applied to armor. You cannot place more than one rune on a single piece of armor. In order to get all 4 bonuses from 4 Major identical runes you need to place the 4 runes on 4 different pieces of your armor. And you start by double clicking the stack of runes and place the rune you picked up on the piece of armor you want it to be on.
Also, I believe it’s possible that if you do the jumping puzzles while you are in the LA overflow, when you switch to the regular server you get another shot at the chests.

Edit: I first read the topic title, not your post. Have no idea what that textile is…
Hey guys, just a small observation from a fellow player from Desolation. I don’t do WvW yet, as I’m only ~80% done with the exploring, maybe the same with personal story, and dungeon experience is pretty much non-existent. But I check from time to time the WvW forums to see what’s going on here, and to get a feel of the WvW guilds.
My suggestion is for you guys to advertise your guilds more. If you’re leading, or if you’re an officer in a WvW recruiting guild, say your name of the guild and ‘open for recruiting. Contact Xyz’ on your signatures. Maybe there are other players on Desolation who are guildless or in non-WvW guilds, and don’t know exactly how to get into a WvW guild because they don’t know who’s recruiting. So start advertising guys, maybe more people will join your guilds, and maybe in the future this server will be filled with pro membered WvW guilds.
Just my lousy 2 copper…
Second one looks better imo.
From what I can see, the guy in the picture is being illuminated from behind. I don’t think it can be determined for sure the type of color of the armor, because it might as well be plain silver or something else not really dark in color.
Ah, ok, thank you guys. I’ll go check out the TP.
Guys, sorry to burst in here, but I got to 80 two days ago, and I started to look for what type of gear I can get at 80. I didn’t care about this at all until now. This Knight’s armor keeps popping up on forum threads, but so far I haven’t managed to understand how and where you can get this type or armor. I looked here and it’s not listed. So what exactly is this Knight’s armor that many ask if they should wear, and some say they’re wearing?
Thank you, and apologies again.
It started with the latest patch, and indeed it’s horrible.
I personally got one of those keys soon after I started exploring the area. By the time I finished I did not get another single drop. Try some more, by killing mobs in the close vicinity of that area. In the meantime, maybe another player comes there having a key on him/her.
From the map completion threads I read in the past, I came to understand that indeed dungeons don’t have anything to do with map completion. Only PvE maps, the 6 cities and the 4 WvW maps. If you say you rechecked all the maps then it’s quite weird. Did you recheck the cities maps or only the outside areas?
Last PoI could be either where the missing Vista is, or at Chantry of Secrets.
Server: Desolation
Location: Iron Marches, Lake Carnifex
Same problem as Navi’s, 2 posts up. The SP NPC Sharky Longears seems to be trapped in the ground, because I can hear him, see his chat bubble and name.
I personally love the Shiverpeaks zones. I’d take mountains over jungle or arid zones any time. Haven’t visited Frostgorge Sound yet, I’m curious how it looks. It’s hard to pick one of the zones, but I’d go with Timberline Falls.
Maybe the +14 Precision from the Opal Orb caused the loss in crit?
You can experience the other story lines if you party up with someone else and go do their story lines. So all you need is some friends.
