Also, as far as I aware, it doesn’t matter where you get the key parts. You just need to have them in inventory and then you can go unlock whatever vault you didn’t open before.
Also: Garnet = Red, Sapphire = Blue, Emerald = Green. I don’t think the general player population (myself included) knows this by heart.
Indeed, go again to all 6 cities, all PvE zones, and all WvW maps. PoI’s might be harder to spot, but WP and Vistas should be quite clear. On every map you’ll revisit look for the completion % to see where you don’t have 100%. It takes a while, but at least WP’s and Vistas should be quite doable. Worse case, you should be left with unfound PoI’s, but not Vistas or WP.
As far as I know, it has always been tied to a dynamic event in the area. I assume at some point the DE failed, and until it can be triggered and won, the vine will stay like this. I’m sure someone will come up with further explanation.
I asked the same question a while back. Read here the answer I received.
Did you try it by unequiping the armor/weapon you want transmuted? I had to do that yesterday after the change that came with the patch.
I noticed the exact same issue today, whereas yesterday I got the full 100k xp without dying. I think it’s a bug to a bug. It just went from bad to worse.
Since as far as I can think of right now, WP’s are only in the cities, in the PvE regions and the WvW maps, and you say you’ve got all in the cities and PvE areas, the missing ones could still be the WvW ones. I can’t confirm, but considering the alternatives, and the fact that the WvW get completed automatically which is weird in itself, I think the problem is there, and it’s possible that even though they show as completed on the WvW maps, maybe they only count on the overall if you actually hit them.
Just my 2 copper.
Oh, how silly of me. I was thinking about the vista, while everyone else was talking about the skill point. I probably must’ve done that SP without any issues, since I even forgot there was one there.
Apologies.
Did it yesterday, but I guess by sheer luck. A dynamic event started while I was there, and a whole bunch of skritt came to steal the ale. By the time me and others finished the DE, I had completed the heart just by killing the skritt. I think there were drunk and red skritt there also which counted when killed.
On Desolation I found this skill challenge bugged yesterday and also two days ago. It probably still is. I did manage to complete it though. I’m not 100% sure if this is indeed the solution because someone else started it somehow, but this is my guess, and at least it’s worth a check:
Probably in your case too, the broodmother is on the shore being green. A hatchling is in the water close to the mother, more or less stuck to a rock, and also green. The other hatchling is somewhere in the water, mixed with the drakes there, and is red. I think this will happen: find the red hatchling and attack it. The encounter will begin and will show up on the screen. Kill the hatchling and also the mother who is now red. After the mother is defeated it will turn green. I also assume that the red hatchling has properly died, then has disappeared. Wait for it to respawn. Kill it again and it will count as second hatchling defeated, and you will get the skill point. If I would’ve done all this alone, I would’ve been certain of the solution. But someone else triggered it, then we killed the mother, and a few minutes later I found a red hatchling in the water (which I assume is a respawn) and after I killed it, me in the water and everyone else who was still chatting on the shore got the skill point.
As I said, at least it’s worth a check. It might be it. It might not be…
Why not, RaZaC? Just think of it as moral damages.
On a sidenote, if you want that hint to pop up, wait a few days without deleting the gold spammers mails until you get the hint pop up. That is the only good thing a gold seller did for me, because otherwise I don’t really receive mail. :P
You mean you can’t interact with the cattlepult, or maybe you don’t know about it?
Wow, thanks for the reminder. I haven’t checked my /age and /deaths in the past 2 weeks.
When you say plant, I think of Sylvari. In the sylvari areas I think there are plants shooting at you, so you might have killed some when you were there.
I think one of the buttons on the right of the minimap sets it back up. You must’ve accidentally pressed it. So, hover your mouse over the minimap and take a look at the buttons on the right of it. One of them is the key.
Yes, all your toons must stay on the same server, so whenever you move, all go to the new server. Server transfer is currently still free, but you can only transfer once every 24 hours.
I agree with this too. This is one of the few things I really hate on this otherwise awesome game. I’m generally patient when I try to reach an objective solo. I pick a spot on a side, pull a mob with a ranged attack, kill it, proceed to the next. Unfortunately in GW2 this isn’t possible. By the time you kill a few mobs and advanced a few meters, the ones you’ve killed are right back up. And I’m talking of respawns on an average of 2 minutes. There is no way in some situations to go solo in an area and try to reach your goal (gathering node, skill point, PoI, etc.). And the weirdest thing is that this happens in the game that could allow the longest respawns rates in any MMO on the market, simply because of the fact any mob can be tagged by multiple players. I’ll give the oh so popular WoW example. In that game you had to be on your toes to tag a mob if there were other people around. And yet, the rewpawn rates were higher than in GW2. In GW2 you could easily increase the respawn rates 5 times without a hinder to the game. Maybe this way could be also combated repeated farming a bit (I assume, I don’t do any form of farming on purpose).
As for areas like the pumpkin farm, I saw that for the first time exactly yesterday. And I started doing exactly what the OP was doing. Instead of cleaning the area one by one, I was running around, kiting the mobs, bashing them with my rifle from time to time, then gathering a node, running again, repeat. It feels so weird having to do it this way, instead of a normal, calculated approach.
And for the areas you’re dying to know what’s at the end, it seems the best way right now is just rush in with a speed boost, frantically trying to reach the end before you get killed. And it even works on most occasions, as you end up alive on the other side. And the worse thing though, is the fact that some poor fellow player might be strolling 20 meters behind you, and he ends up on his head with all the mobs that return after they chased you.
The skill points are those you used to unlock healing skills, utility skills and elites.
Indeed, you continue to accumulate skill points, which you can spend at the Mystic Forge.
I have the same problem as you. The difference is, I run to all available spots, then I’m just waiting for the match resets and when my server changes colors I start running to all the camps my server mates conquered. It takes a while but it’s doable. It’s only annoying when 2 weeks in a row my server is in the same color.
No, you will not get banned. Referrence.
I did that annoying jump by actually not jumping on the shroom, but on the branch to the right of it. I think I used a speed buff to get there, but it was much much easier than to try and land on that messy shroom.
They could also try to add the possibility of queuing on all the maps and just enter the first that is available. If someone just wants to ply some WvW in an evening, no matter where, they should have the possibility to just enter the first map available.
Alternatively, the possibility to queue on all Borderlands at once. EB is probably the busiest anyway and with the longest queue time of all 4 maps.
First of all, only what you have in the 10th slot is an elite skill. The skills from 7 to 9 are utility skills and the 6 is the healing skill.
You can recognize conditions applied to you by looking over the UI area on top of your healing / utility skills. Everything in red there is a condition. Look them up here.
Now, I’m not some kind of expert in warriors, I just have a puny not yet 80 one myself. But I definitely think you should change your healing skill with either Mending (this is what I use) or Healing Signet. Shake it Off is nice, I use it all the time. With Mending and SiO you should be able to clear your conditions most of the time. I see you’re using Signet of Stamina also, so between those 3 you should be covered. When you feel you are in situations you don’t get hit too often by conditions, drop one of these skills and pick something else more offensive.
I have a feeling you’re fighting mostly if not all the time as melee? Use a rifle in the second set and alternate between sets. You could engage with the rifle to pull a single mob, hit it until in gets close to you , and then switch to melee and finikitten off. In tough situations the game is very punishing for melee combat, so it’s nice if you can get into the habit of using ranged also. It keeps you more alive.
As for the traits and gear, just pick what you like best. You can either be the glass cannon and try to kill the mobs before they kill you, or go full defensive and slowly eat away at their health while they slowly eat you, or go balanced. It’s you call. A few weeks ago I was playing with 30 points in Tactics for Vigorous Shouts. Now I’m messing around with 30 points in Strength and 30 in Arms. So try it all out (resetting traits doesn’t feel expensive at all) and see what works best for you. I can’t comment on armor and runes and sigils as I’m still leveling, and I just use whatever higher level armor dropped for me. Sometimes I don’t even have runes on most of my armor pieces.
Edit: really Anet, really? I can’t write finish off it (turn the position of the last two words), without getting hit by the kitty army?
(edited by Drevin.6534)
Dumb idea probably. Did you check the completion of the cities also?
I wonder what would happen if I write here the name of a former US vice-president…
Look at this map, and check the hearts there against yours.
Well, people like to or tend to swear. And some, if they want to ad up a swear word in a sentence, instead of writing f words and s words, they will say kitten instead. Now, maybe it’s my imagination, and people actually say the swear word all the time, and the filter replaces them, but I think in some instances people were actually saying kitten or some variation of the word from the start. And I used the term lulz because that was the first thing it popped into my head when I was writing before.
The website filters all swear words and change them to kitten. Also, lately, people have plainly just started using the kitten term instead of a proper swear word, for lulz.
I’m offline, so from my not so good memory, I think the main tab is called Main, and the second tab is called Combat. Also, all you have to do is mess around with all check boxes until you find the desired setting. You don’t like map chat? Turn it off. You don’t like the game to tell you you picked this and that loot? Turn game messages off. Are NPC’s annoying? Turn them off. Basically, in the Main tab just tick everything at first, and then start to untick what you find too annoying. And in the Combat tab, I guess all you need to tick is the combat information. I never look at that tab, so I don’t know more about it, but that would be my guess.
I think you are using the None setting for post-processing in the video options. If you change the setting, the characters will get the outline you are mentioning.
I’ll just throw this idea here, but bear in mind you guys will end up with a loss. Have your friend buy the gems, exchange them to gold, mail the gold to you, and you exchange the gold back into gems. The problem is, due to the different exchange rates, you will end up with less gems than your friend actually bought.
Did you try to see if that whole area can be climbed from another side, and then just drop down from the top? In my experience, most rich veins are placed either in areas with a whole bunch or mobs, or in areas that you had to figure how to get to. If no other solution works, maybe it’s just a node placed in a wrong spot by the developers, but still, with the rich tag on it, I expect the location was on purpose and there is a clever solution on getting it.
Did you check the main cities also?
I never bother. I just replace my gear with whatever I get as loot.
30 slots actually, for 600 gems.
Hey everyone. I was wondering if the following feature is not in the game, or it’s too hidden for me to find out: Let’s say I have some coin (3-5g) and I want to buy gems to get a new bank slot. I find out it costs 600 gems, so I go to the exchange tab in order to buy those 600 gems. The problem is, I can’t find any way to just input 600 gems, and see how much gold it costs. The only way it seems to work is to guesstimate the amount it costs and start lowering or increasing the gold amount until I hit exactly 600 gems.
So, is this the only way in game to purchase a specific amount of gems, or I’m totally missing something?
Thank you.
Thank you for the input, guys.
Read this.
It’s either a bit bugged or you actually have to revisit that area a few times a day. First time I went there, I had the same problem as you. Next day I went back there and the NPC was this time around inside the cave and the lock was interact-able.
Assuming that kills from deployed weapons count, buy the blueprints for arrow carts or similar. Just a guess here, as I don’t do WvW. At least, yet.
Vistas have nothing to do with the story line. They are useful for getting 100% exploration of the world, and for the visuals they offer. If you don’t get it now, you can get it later when you’re stronger and overleveling the area.
Also, just wait a while at the entrance of the caverns. Usually there are people passing by that could be also aiming for that vista. Fight together and get it done.
Have you guys noticed, or did some math, on what is best to do with the loot you get in the game? Especially with the whites, blues and green drops? Do you salvage them or vendor them? And if you do salvage them, what type of salvage kits do you use?
Thank you.
Listen to Erin here, and also see what the guards at the tower have to say.
Bear in mind, you should not feel obligated to get all four runes, unless you need all bonuses. In the example above, the bonus for 4 runes is +15% Swiftness. Maybe your play style does not need this bonus, so in that case you would be better off to stay at 3/4 Centaur, and use another rune on another piece of gear.
Read this thread. High mobility warrior discussed there.
