You misunderstood about multiple tickets. They initially said send a second ticket and that was bad advice now you need to delete all but your original ticket and update that tickets subject as outlined on the wiki here

i’d reupdate the ticket and make sure they know you can’t log in so I’d change it to blocked login I think that’s the one they said to use other than hacked for prioritizing
i’d still say try making your video card fan run a bit faster with one of the available programs and see if it fixes it before buying a new card
If you used the save password option seems like they had an issue with that at one time try unchecking that box, closing the launcher, relaunching and logging in and see if it works.
Hawkboy making a second ticket actually moves you to the back of the line you should only update existing tickets not make new ones. Also there is a thread Here where you should post and provide as much info as possible about what you may have been doing etc before the money disappeared.
I’d say simply run something like EVGA Precision or Riva tuner and increase your fan speed to keep the card cooler.
EDIT: Did some looking and no a 610 would certainly run worse than your 240 to give you an idea of what you’d want to get look Here use a GT 240 with whichever vram yours has DDR3 or DDR5 then go three tiers(fields) above that the nvidia and ati cards listed in those fields will give you increased performance on the video card side.
Would help if you post your system specs

I notice your driver for your video card is from july. You may want to get the new one from august and the CAP file from Sep 4 and see if that solves it. May not but worth a shot.
Yeah heat is also an option, though usually that just causes downclocking, freezing or spontaneous rebooting – I’ve not often seen it crash the driver, but it’s certainly a possibility. It’s definitely a good idea to monitor temps as GW2 pushes the hardware hard.
For what it’s worth I have the same type of issue on my GTX 470 but it seems to be heat related for me because if I use EVGA Precision to ramp up my fan to 72% speed I don’t crash at all with driver stopped responding errors. If I don’t ramp it up I will between 10 and 20 minutes of play get artifacting on the screen then the display driver will reset(this doesn’t stop me playing but it’s one of those DOH forgot to run Precision before I started playing moments)
I have a GTX470 myself and what I’ve done is I used EVGA Precision to set up a custom fan profile which ramps the fan up automatically as the temperature increases – you can customize the curve exactly to your liking, which means you can have it ramping up aggressively during high loads and still have it be relatively quiet at lower loads. Once you then set Precision to start up automatically with Windows it basically means it’ll just get on with it and do everything for you automatically.
I’ve been running my card like this for about a year and 8 months now and it’s working really well. I can game with my card at full tilt for hours without any worries, since even if it were to run a little hotter all of a sudden (hot summers day or whatnot) the fan would just scale to adjust and it stays nice and quiet when idle (well as relatively quiet as these cards ever get when they don’t downclock fully because you’re running 2 monitors off it).
Just a quick question is the Precision Auto profile more aggressive than the normal? I ask this because without running precision it does ramp up but not over probably 45ish% (based on sound difference) I think

You have an issue with your PC. Just because it cost a lot doesn’t mean it can’t have problems
Frankly my first line of thought is an overheating issue that is then causing the system to become unstable. Make sure the cpu heatsink/fan is free of dust, make sure the rest of the system mobo, video card, ram etc is as dust free as possible. If possible ramp up the fan speed on the video card using a software package like EVGA Precision or Riva tuner etc.
EDIT: Also if the case has room you could add in an extra case fan or two to see if it would help. Or you could try what I call the simple but of course not good because of dust way of testing if it’s heat related. Remove the side of the case and put a box/desktop fan there blowing into the case on high, If crashes stop it is for sure a heat related crash

Yeah I’d blow out all the dust make sure the heatsink for the CPU is clear of dust between the fins as best as you can, also try upping the speed on the video cards fan by using something like MSI Afterburner software. Also if the CPU stock cooler was getting too loud for you it was probably ramping up to high speeds to try and keep the cpu cool

Ahh ok yes I admit I was thinking US as they are based in CA and I am in the US. As for why your issue competes I suspect the billing/account department are the same department for all account issues related to ownership and billing of accounts but that’s just a guess.

I tell you what as soon as you get your local DA to file criminal theft charges against them I’ll retract my statement. Until then I stand behind you can’t get them charged with theft. Furthermore it would be faster and simpler to simply dispute the second charge with your bank/CC company and let them deal with it.

Think they also said they are working on getting those transactions to process which means they probably won’t be contacting anyone individually and you’ll log in to find you have the gold either in mail or in the transactions tab for the take all button to work
Is her GW 1 account linked to a NCSoft master account? If so see if she can change the GW 1 password through the master account.
Another possibility is heat the crashes could be video card/driver related as one is a DX9 crash and the other is a memory issue. Also this error code exception:c0000005 happened in some BWE and those people were running the mumble overlay when they turned off the mumble overly and didn’t run mumble they didn’t crash.
Edit: Grab a program to control your GPU fan speed if you don’t have one and increase the speed and see if that makes a difference.

Umm you do know you can’t charge them with theft right? You tried to purchase there was an error that appeared to not go through but in reality it did. They will get it sorted out but if you don’t want to wait for them the recourse you have is to contact your CC for a charge back for one of the purchases.
Ya, probably 50% of the game will be banned for langauge at least once in the next few months. Apparently A-Net lives in the 50s.
They don’t live in the 50s you wouldn’t go into a restaurant and scream profanity so you shouldn’t in open chat either. And if you WOULD do that the restaurant is well within their rights to make you leave, in fact they are within their rights to tell you to never come back.
The problem is the generation of people that think they should get to do or say whatever they want in public without any responsibility or repercussions.
Edit:fixed typo
I’m just a player but if I understand right you had an existing GW2 prepurchase or preorder account. You then went to input your retail key and said you had an existing guild wars account but at that point typed in the info for GW 1 and not the PrePurchase account. Is that right?

different icons for different trainers hunstman looks like a tree, leatherworker a skin stretched out, artificier I think it is looks like a skull, etc they are usually all right near each other so find one and you can find the rest. For humans they are in divinity’s reach around the outer ring
Also, I spent $35 in gems, used them on that character to upgrade inventory space, and it never once stated that it only expanded THAT character’s inventory space. Unlike bank slots, inventory slots are per-character. This was not implied. So, I lost around $20 worth of gems.
I’m initiating a chargeback.
So you’re going to compound a mistake in a game with credit card fraud nice.
They just lost my business then. Which is a shame. I would’ve spent hundreds of dollars over the years on gems and expansions. It may have been my fault for deleting the character, but if they can’t have such a rudimentary function in place to restore characters, then I don’t really want to be giving them my money anyways. It’s 2012, not 1956.
Not aware of any B2P game that backs up characters to restore them. Sub based games yes but not B2P. Diablo 2 restores? nope in fact if you don’t log in within a certain time frame Blizzard deletes your characters. D3? Not sure but probably same as D2. Who has more cash to be able to buy the hardware and infrastructure to maintain backups ANet or Blizzard with all the money WoW brings in? Yup Blizzard and even they aren’t doing it for B2P games.
If I’m correct you have to type out either the word delete or the characters name so how do you accidently delete one you want to keep while staring at the name you are deleting as you type out the name or the word delete?
Use MSI Afterburner to see the temps on the video card and up the fan speed a bit and see if it helps, also as always clean out the dust in there and see if it helps.
That’s a windows error that indicates hardware failure. Most likely it’s a heat related issue, first off open up your case and clean out any dust in there (can of air for pc cleaning to blow it out etc)
Secondly what are your system specs?
3 types of crashes: out of memory, assertion failed, and messy crash
in Account & Technical Support
Posted by: Drintar.1246
I’ve been getting 3 different types of crashes that happen at varying frequencies (may be able to play for 2 hours, maybe 15 mins) but they seem to fall into 3 categories:
out of memory: This crash is caught by the GW2 crash handler and is shown in the log file that is attached. This seems to happen most frequently when using a waypoint to a different map region, or switching from an overflow to the primary instance.
assertion failed: This is similar to the out of memory issue, but seems to happen more often when lots of aoe/other characters are in the area, such as in WvW situations. Though has happened in map switching, IIRC.
messy crashes: For lack of a better term, this crash is when the game freezes up (and constantly repeats the last sound before the crash and show a stuttering display that alternates between what seem to be the last two frames before it froze) and it is not caught by the GW2 crash handler (no popup comes asking that I send a report to ANet). I can however ctrl-alt-del and bring up the Task manager and close GW2 through it. It then appears to close cleanly, and I can go back to playing/do other tasks and seems to have no effect afterwards. This always occurs during gameplay (not map changes) usually in the middle of some action (doesn’t necessarily need to be in WvW, but seems to happen more often there). As a shot in the dark, its causing something that should be checked with an assertion (like the previous type of crash) but isn’t.
I’m running Windows 7 32-bit with NVidia GeForce 260 GTX card with the most recent (beta) drivers from August 27th. I’ve attached the log file and the game advisor output. I’ve been able to play other recent games with no significant problems (Mass Effect 3, Diablo 3, Skyrim) though I do admit that my card is now a few generations old, I believe it still meets the requirements published to run the game.
I am running Windows Vista 32-bit with the same video card and 6G RAM, I have been trolling other forums and there seems to be an issue with the video card. The problem could be low FPS or as bad as what we have. I have been crashing just as much as you. As for the comments to upgrade my system, that is something I want to do but it shouldn’t be something I have to do to play a game that says the reqs. are well below what I am running. I can’t offer you any other help other then a sympathetic player who is frustrated with the same issues.
6GB of ram on a 32bit system does nothing the system will never see more than just over 3GB.
Did you do the updating thing and deleting of the other tickets thing as outlined yesterday?
Aye congrats on him getting his account back
I wasn’t trying to say your brother visited sites etc I was saying I’ve seen others admitting that yet wanting to pitch fork and torch ANet. Pointing out it’s not necessarily fair to blame ANet when they have tons of petitions from people who admit it was their own fault clogging the system as well as the legitimate petitions. Sorry if that wasn’t clear.
Sorry you are confused but it is clear they are saying people who preordered/prepurchsed from a RETAIL location need to go get the box. And the sentence you quoted is not unclear
When Guild Wars 2 launches, customers will need to return to their retailer with proof of purchase to receive the full Collector’s Edition box with physical items and retail serial code.
I bolded the key part the box comes WITH the physical items and retail code
The saved password thing is known I think just uncheck save close the launcher relaunch type it in and try to log in. If it’s the normal bug it will let you in then
Taiance: They’ve said to update the existing ticket. Yes they goofed and gave bad advice but you know what? They ADMITTED IT, I’d like you to tell me when any other company has ever said oh yeah what we told you to do was bad advice sorry. Just do what they said to fix the mistake delete all but the one ticket change the title info to the fact you’re petition was X date etc and give them a day or two to fix it. A bunch of people posted last night that they did the corrections last night to have one ticket, changed the title etc and the problem got resolved.
EDIT: Also having worked CS for an MMO you will NEVER have enough support staff to handle the number of petitions when a game launches with the kinds of numbers we are seeing MMOs launch with now. People put tickets in for stupid stuff, if the ticket is prioritized right then it will get seen faster but each hacked account requires investigation. These Investigations sometimes take 20 minutes or more per account to finish.
Now I’ve seen numerous people say it’s all ANet’s fault yet they admit they had weak passwords or used the same username/password as other games (Blizz was just hacked you know right?), or the same username/password as GW2 fan websites (which one just recently was hacked) yet somehow it’s all still ANet’s fault.

Rhia how is it a nightmare? The system said hmm this account appears compromised, which from what you are telling me it sounds like maybe it was, the system then perma banned the account so the hacker couldn’t do any damage and you could get it back, you then filed not one but two tickets which by the way WILL NOT get you seen faster. You need to submit only one ticket following the procedures outlined in the sticky for hacked account prioritization tickets and then update that one ticket.
They are a bit behind but working to get some systems in place to make things go faster. I mean they could have just let the guy go ahead and hack into your account and if you’d saved a paypal or CC account to the gem store let him buy 5000 bucks worth of gems/stuff.
EDIT: Also the staff here isn’t able to do support directly from this page you just have to wait for the ticket to be handled.
Just go in and close the ticket yourself through the support account you made.
Yeah switching might be best otherwise you just have to wait until guesting is enabled.
Just to add what everyone else is saying it’s discovery and more people need to understand how discovery works. You have two ways to discover items. Look at a known recipe then go to discovery and add one of the said ingredients and see what other ingredients it will let you add and try them, or two just go to discovery with your inventory full throw something in throw in other stuff it will let you and see what you can come up with through random trying
EDIT: On things like armor recipes it’s always the two base ingredients such as boot soles and boot tops then the other item(s)

You didn’t really give any info about what’s happened. Does it say the account is banned? If it’s a password issue and she has an NCSoft Master account with the GW1 account attached you may be able to solve the problem using that if it’s an email issue or password issue.
You can play with friends by using the guesting feature. When they turn on guesting they will turn off free transfers. Guesting will let you play with your friends but you will not be able to play in WvWvW with the group on the server you don’t pick as a home server.
Amberle So the support account erases your security page information under my account on this website?
hmm good question you know let me look I think I saw something that will help let me see if I can find it
Ok found the page from the FAQ
From what I can tell he would most likely be lumped into other which would mean he will connect to US Data Centers so I guess that means he needs a US account
(edited by Moderator)
I think he needs a EU version for the region lock thing but he can make characters on the US servers if he wants to.
Are you sure someone in the family didn’t switch to a different server?
like I said what does it say when you try to log in? Did you look at the security tab like I said to see if there were any unusual log ins?
