GW2 "endgame" model is fine. Execution doesn't make sense tho, problem and solution.

Lol yes it’s intentional but you shouldn’t see it if you don’t kill grubs/risen grubs
Linsey will this fix all the broken ones? Check the bug forum there’s a thread there where people are putting in 4 items getting the this looks like a match! then the Forge eats the items and gives them nothing.

It’s the grubs they disabled loot from grubs due to an exploit with a champion mob
LOL hmm not being home I wasn’t testing the resolutions but I certainly didn’t expect that lol
@Blekaut the CAP file should be on the same page as the driver just look at the release date on it and if you know you didn’t update the CAP file on or after that date I’d say update it
@Pluton You’re comparing apples to oranges. In one case you are not changing the game files at all just the resolution on the monitor. In the other you are changing the game files to change FOV.
To answer your question yes they are working on a tool that would allow them to “restore”(rollback) an account to a point prior to the compromise. There is no ETA on the tool. And the response was it would be available most likely from whatever day they get it working forward. Meaning no retroactive restores. Furthermore it will not be a restore of one character or just giving items but it would be a complete account rollback to a point just before the compromise. I’ll see if I can find the posts where they commented on this.
Here’s the thread just skim all the ANet posts on the first page
(edited by Drintar.1246)
First question is are you running the 12.8 driver and the latest CAP file? Just checking because those supposedly really helped performance for ATI cards.
@Pluton I didn’t think about Eyefinity because I’ve never been rich enough to have more than one monitor :P I know the game is coded to work with Eyefinity to a degree and they say they are working on fixing the bugs with it and Nvidia Surround. But I’d think this works a bit differently. Maybe it works the same since I didn’t think about those.
However the one thing I see that still says to me it would be a “cheat” is if I and someone else are both running 22" monitors at say 1680×1050 and running just one monitor he’d have an unfair advantage over me if he can see more because he’s using a “hack” program to alter the games display. The point I’m making is they tell you don’t use macros to do multiple button presses, don’t alter the game so it seems pretty clear they don’t want you messing with things they don’t provide.

Any time you plan to upgrade video cards it’s a good idea to check
It tells you where your current card falls performance wise in relation to other cards. Tom’s doesn’t recommend you upgrade unless you go at least 3 tiers higher than your current card because otherwise you won’t see much real world improvement.
As for the framerate unless you are getting massive screen tearing you could try and turn Vsync off.
EDIT: when I get home from work today I’ll see what kind of framerate I get in LA and post. I have the same CPU but a GTX 470 which should match your old cards performance if the 560 you had was a GTX 560 Ti.

This is caused by a program or service running in the background in windows. I’ve had this happen to me and had no luck figuring out what program was doing it. Basically what’s happening is the program or service says “hey I need focus” and windows shifts the focus to that program, the result being the app that had focus loses it and in the case of a full screen app like the game it gets minimized as well.
yes most probably….
Since your no moderator i would stop giving a yes or no answer. This needs to be answered by a mod,not by a player.
Why do you need a mod to state what they’ve already stated? Any program that modifies the game files or game functions that gives an unfair advantage to a player is considered a bannable mod. Just look at the pics posted above me. Clearly the player using the FOV can SEE more than the default UI thus giving them an unfair advantage in PvP
@Xorin: Keep in mind they said earlier in this thread the dungeon runs did not reset with the server down last night(see below). What that says to me is when they say run a dungeon in a day they don’t really mean midnight to midnight. I think they mean within a 24 hour period. If that’s the case if you ran a dungeon last night at 11pm, then one this morning at 11am the one this morning would be the second one, and so on.
I of course don’t know this for sure but it might explain some of the strangeness you guys are seeing.
All rewards are susceptible to our code that is dealing with people who are speed clearing dungeons. If you find yourself getting less rewards consider whether or not your rate of dungeon completion is extremely high. This did not get reset with the patch.
If you think you are running at a fairly reasonable pace post all of the chains you have run and the times to complete and we will file it to try and figure out if it is a bug. Please post accurate times, otherwise we cannot determine if there are in fact bugs in the system.
Thanks,
Jon

Rizzy: It isn’t odd. A lot of folks blame the dungeon finder for ruining the community in WoW. Not saying it did just saying a lot of folks feel that way. The thing is this….back in the day you actually had to be social, you had to make “online friends”, and then when you wanted to run a dungeon you sent tells out to the folks on your friends list. Now don’t get me wrong you also had people waiting to do the content near the entrance.
One thing that WoW did that I hate was make people want to do speed runs and never talk, strategize, or even think. Back in EQ you had to learn how to pull mobs or you wiped the group, you had to figure out what to do to get past something, WoW introduced speed run, no talking, faceroll dungeons.
Now so many people are accustomed to that they don’t want to do something I found fun, which was dungeons where you took your time and worked through it. I hated WoW’s dungeon finder because you couldn’t even stop to catch your breath or equip an upgrade because the PuG was already down to the next fight.
EDIT: I say people in GW2 don’t want to do it because I see so many complaints like you mention but the thing is the rewards are cosmetic so no one has to do them but people complain like they HAVE to do them because the world will end if they don’t get the “epic”, “legendary” etc etc item
Just wanted to say while I understand this sucks for you folks it does happen. I remember back in the EQ days and WoW early days you’d get rolled back sometimes for an entire day in the event of a severe hardware crash(EQ). WoW rollbacks of 15 minute to an hour were common at launch. Not trying to start an argument or anything but I definitely remember rollbacks happening in other MMOs I’ve played.
Basically what happens is there is a hardware/network crash. The server reverts the data to the last good backup it had which in this case sounds like it was about an hour old.
There is one difference from what I’m reading here. Back in EQ, and maybe WoW can’t remember, a lot of folks would log out as soon as they got an item they wanted because the log out would force a save.
It sucks but think of it like using Word or any other software out there. If you don’t have it set to auto-save every so often if you lose power or the app crashes there is a good chance either all or most of what you’d had done will be lost.
This has a game problem. Period.
Please relate to hardware. I built two identical systems, my wife and mine. Her gtx280 failed. I replaced it with a gtx460.
My system never shuts down unless I am in a story line instance. It generally shuts down right as I finish it. To prevent me from jumping off the roof. My wife let me redo the instance with her system. Bingo.
gtx280 (SHUTDOWN)
gtx460… cleared to finish.Their software has a hardware problem inherent. Fix it.
Or you know it’s a heat problem on your end because a 280 runs hotter and draws more power than a 460 IIRC.

Eltamar edit your info out man you only want to send that stuff in on support tickets not an open forum! As for your FPS issue post your system specs someone may be able to help you improve the performance
Hmm not sure then I haven’t gotten to 10 yet am like 1 point shy atm.
That sounds pretty strange one last ditch effort is of course for him to try it on another computer he trusts is secure although with him having the problem in two different browsers I am not sure it would work there either. But try that as a last ditch effort if it displays the same error, and IE and Firefox/Chrome all display the error then the only thing he can do is put in a ticket and wait for support to respond.
How many points do you have? The fiery sword unlocks at 10 points.
Nvidia just released the new drivers that enables SLI support just FYI
Two things. Have him log into the GW 1 account. If the information to log in is the same as the GW 2information they are likely linked. If it’s different have him use a different browser and see if he gets the same error page.
EDIT: Can’t access forums? I assume you mean he’s just not where he can log in right now? If not how is he logging in to link accounts?

I have already upgraded for 2000 Gems, it doesn’t give a serial code, it applies the upgrade directly to the account. I could still buy more gem and spend another 2000 Gems in the Gem Store. Will I only lose the Gems and get nothing? Is this a bug that needs to be fixed. Should the Digital Deluxe Upgrade only be listed in the Gem Store for those who only have a standard account?
I assume it’s a bug yes you would spend the 2000 and get nothing the example I gave would have the same result. I don’t KNOW that it’s a bug but I assume it’s a bug to have it show for accounts that are DDE or possibly even CE accounts if they see it.
EDIT: In other words you already upgraded the account you can’t upgrade it a second time unless you bought a CE and applied the CE serial code. I would assume that would work but once you did that you would have the max level account so it wouldn’t be able to be upgraded.
GL in the other mmos but you can still play your character as a tanky type the shield will allow things like helpful boons etc to the group if they are in range and you don’t get squished as easy.
In GW2 what you are seeing right now is a lot of people doing glass cannon builds, eventually folks will say “ya know I get squished too easy” and start using either survivability builds or asking for one or two members in the group to have that kind of build.

Nothing happens you’ve already upgraded the account to a DDE account it would be the same as buying the DDE then buying another DDE and trying to apply the second DDE serial code. Nothing would happen other then the serial code on the account would change.
At this time I agree it’s probably a bug that the upgrade appears for A) people with DDE accounts and
people who have already purchased the DDE not sure if CE people see it or not
I believe it is the Draconic box that is bugged.
That sounds right you get Beserker out of it instead of Draconic right?
They don’t have a way to restore individual items. They will eventually have a way to roll an account back to a time right around when it was hacked but not sure if they will be able to use it for things like your issue. They are looking into doing something about the DDE items though so maybe before you know it there will be a DDE vendor or something
Which drivers are you running for the video card?
ANet is not false advertising anything lol. There is one box that seems to be bugged at the moment but I can’t remember the name of it. What’s the name of the box you are thinking of buying? I’d remember the name if it’s the one I read about being bugged.
I can’t say for sure but I do click to join all four every time. In some cases I’ve gotten straight into one and had a popup for one of the others appear saying it was ready but I can’t remember which one it was I’ll pay more attention this weekend to the order I try and enter them in and see if it looks like it does put me in all of them or not.

How is this a joke response? The CS tells you 1) They can’t restore items, gold etc and 2) if you’re sure you didn’t spend it maybe you are compromised. Seems pretty reasonable from what I read. With that said you may have spent some money and not even remembered it. Did you repair your gear? Did you buy more salvage kits? both of those are things you may do so often you just don’t recall doing them.
Bluehornet.com is owned by Digital River ie the emarketing company that NCSoft uses.
Thanks for the info.
NP Some of the beta emails had the same info and people asked about it on Reddit.
While NCSoft may not use digitalriver they are a pretty reputable company as I’ve heard of them before in relation to online purchases of reputable titles.
Seriously just do a DNS lookup on it the owner is digitalriver.com. Digital River is the ecommerce emarketing people that a lot of companies use for their downloadable games. Some of the beta emails were sent via bluehornet it redirects to NCSofts website but lets them track how effective the emails are.
EDIT: For anyone wondering here’s where I got the info from who.is link is HERE
If in doubt never click on a link but I don’t think digital river would be trying to phish us. You can of course just go to ncsoft,gw2 etc directly

Did she have remember password checked? If so uncheckit close the launcher and restart the game then type it in and see if that helps.
If I looked at a big cave with many places to fall and die in real life….I’d better have a really good reason for doing it other than to have an achievement, otherwise, I’d be risking my neck for nothing. The question is logical. Does the reward at the end of a jumping puzzle warrant the risk and time involved? In the case of most jumping puzzles the answer is sadly, no. I think we should at least get a some coin and maybe some karma for repeats.
just a different personality type
What’s the reward for climbing Mt. Everest IRL? Basically an achievement and that’s it
You seriously have to ask that question?
The minor engineer rune works as I’ve made it as a leatherworker haven’t tried to make it on any other crafters I have

- i won`t post the link, but if it is legit, what do i do now? still click the link in the email?hope someone can help.
Bolded the important sentence NO unless you want to give them access you do not want to click the link.
First I KNOW you feel it isn’t overheating, and while I agree the GPU temps should be fine I was getting a driver crash on my GTX 470 and the temps weren’t going much higher than ~74c sometimes they wouldn’t even be that high. My CPU wasn’t getting much over 58c and my MB was running around 28c to 32c.
With that said all I did to fix the crash was run EVGA Precision with a custom fan profile. Initially I set the fans manually to 70% speed and that stopped the crashing. If I ran precision but at a lower fan speed the driver would crash. I’ve now switched to a custom profile to auto control the speed with a more aggresive profile than the stock and again am not crashing.
^^ points at his OP I added links to a couple of places that compile lists of emails posted by hackers
No need to use all caps.
Correct me if I am wrong but don’t the emails say someone is ATTEMPTING to log in from that address? That would mean they have your email but haven’t broken the password yet and that they are trying to brute force you I think.
As for how they would get it if you used the same email/password somewhere else that would be how. You can always check your email address at pwndlist or shouldIchangemypassword and see if your email is in any of the lists of posted emails/passwords that these sites collect.
shouldIchangemypassword even tells you the date they saw your email in a list and if the info is available WHERE the emails were hacked from. IE thisfansite.com etc
EDIT: ok got the links working right, I don’t know how secure these sites are but I saw pwnedlist in an article on a gaming magazine website and according to safebrowse shouldIchangemypassword shows as safe

I can answer the second half of your question sort of
If you notice when you change underwater weapons, your stats will not change so at least on the weapon it appears to only give you the stats when underwater.
I’m new to the GW2 forums, so I’m not sure if this is the right place or not.
I had no trouble playing WoW for about an hour this morning. Then I started playing GW2, because it’s a beautiful game that I’m really enjoying. However, at about 12:30pm EST I got kicked from the game and my Internet went completely down.
I live out in the country and it turns out our ISP was putting up a new, closer relay transmitter that was supposed to give us more stable service. Once they got it all sorted out we were supposed to be fine. That was finally “resolved” around 4:30pm EST.
Our Internet came back up and I was finally able to log into the game…for about 5 minutes. I’ve been getting constantly disconnected for the last six hours. Sometimes I can go 10 or 15 minutes before it happens, and sometimes I can’t even log in before it happens.
The game freezes up on me and I get kicked to the character select screen. Sometimes I’m able to log back in, only to get immediately kicked to the character select screen, then to get kicked from the client entirely. Every time this happens it kills my Internet completely. No Gmail, no YouTube, no email, nothing.
The issue usually resolves itself within 30 seconds to a minute, but it’s been a vicious cycle. It’s even more irritating because now my Internet will go down when I’m not even in the game.
In case it helps:
ISP: Internet Kent
Location: Chatham-Kent, Ontario, Canada
Server: Tarnished Coast [US]I love this game, but I’m on the verge of seeing if I can get my money back. I know the game is new, but there’s no reason it should literally unplayable for so many people.
Bolded the important parts of your issue. The game in no way is causing your internet to disconnect when you aren’t even playing. Since you ARE having this happen it’s obvious to me the problem has something to do with your ISP’s changes. Call them and make sure they have all the ports open GW2 needs on the new hardware they installed. Also tell them what’s happening.
I suggest this because it sounds to me like all you need is for your ISP to get their issues resolved as yours didn’t start until they made changes.
Take a look at the thread with this error code as the title. But HERE is a link to it in that CS gives some things to try
THIS page has the driver and the CAP 2 profile for download for your card for a 64 bit windows 7 OS wasn’t sure about your OS so if it’s 32 just do a search for your OS
Sadaxer, The only solution at the moment would be to have your friends transfer to your server when the caps are raised. Otherwise there is no ETA that ANet has given for the free transfers to be shut off.

If sounds are looping and the video freezes then it certainly points to a hardware issue as a possibility in my mind so yes the specs would help.
