Not true, but that armor with those dyes and the haircut.
I’ll finally have to hack your account and buy a makeover kit.
._.
No idea about that, but back when mesmer runes also increased stun duration, a mesmer could interrupt him with anything. I’m not claiming it was intended for lupicus to have -100% CC duration, but it would actually make sense so, see alphard – same principle.
In the new site restricted runs will automatically compete in unrestricted ruleset. If that makes any difference.
I actually think that shouldn’t happen, else all records we’ll see will be restricted again.
Superior Sigil of Paralyzation is bugged???
No, but most people here seem to believe so.

It says right there in the description that it gives CC-immune bosses defiance stacks. Plain as day, working as intended.
Well, except Lupicus is no CC-immune boss.
Lets hope that some nice dungeon/raid content is included

Superior Sigil of Paralyzation is bugged???
No, but most people here seem to believe so.
I found out why phiw’s are scared of a potential gear check implementation.
Advertising for “play how u want” in arah lfg, noone joins since 20 minutes. Meanwhile, I see a lot of 25k+ hp people joining “zerker exp only” parties.
Wow. Only extremely kittened people can understand how this will harm anyone but griefers, who join groups not fitting their criteria. Aside of that, this would be a win/win for both speedrunners and phiw’s.
Yeah .. and of course a DPS meter would also help to find out all those “slackers”.
Because .. even if your full ascended you can still be a “slacker” ..Or should the gear-check maybe better directly include a history of your DPS from
the last 100 dungeons you did ? ^^
I wouldn’t really mind it, but I don’t see how that could yield much useful data. It’s probably just going to be misunderstood and result in “10k dps or kick” while some builds do not actually deal a lot of damage themselves but increase allies’. EA warriors or S/F + LH Eles as example.
What counts to me is honesty and trying their best. I don’t mind if people die at a boss or don’t do weapon rotations or forget a reflect, as long as they’re running offensive builds in offensive gear when joining “berserker only” parties, everything is alright.
What I mind is people joining “berserker only” parties and then wear carrion or sentinels. Let alone actually claiming to be using berserker gear and traits when they have 28k hp.
Now, since comments about how evil this would be still come up, I’d actually those who are against provide a scenario where this tool would hurt anyone not trying to grief others.
(When someone joins a “berserker level 80 only” party while wearing clerics gear, that is actually not respecting the parties advertisement and in some way griefing other players, in case someone brings this up.)

Notrigger, you might want to read my post. I’ve actually been one of the few people who has already been active on gwscr when all those things came up.
As for spoj being arrogant, lolwat?

When I entered my first GW2 story mode dungeon (AC) I thought “man, this is like hard mode”.
I think GW2 dungeons are like GW1 hard mode without the normal mode.
Yeah, that’s because gw1 dungeons were like fluffy puffy pinkyland.
HM dungeons equaled the non existing easy-easy-easy mode of elite areas.oneoneone and occasionally dodge must be so much harder than the complex skill system in gw1. There was no berserker builds there either.
Full dps builds would get instakilled anywhere in hardmode.
Honstly comparing this with gw1 is like comparing diablo 2 with warcraft 2.
If you’re gonna tell me to go play it don’t bother i havent played it for +3 years.
You do not seem to catch the point.
I could live with executioner’s axe being allowed. Would get so many professions from terrible to almost viable!
Quick update on fixed dps timer.
Also, as most people might have noticed I stopped regularly working on this, been stuck with the personal dps but will add it later if I happen to work those out.
Edit: My god, reddit. Help. Brain.. cancer.
(edited by Dub.1273)
You do not seem to have much knowledge about what was going on at gwscr.
Saying an unrestricted ruleset failed is quite meaningless when the first setup that required videos has been a split between restricted/unrestricted. Restricted records added to the guild leaderboard, unrestricted didn’t. Restricted records got to be “accepted” on reddit, unrestricted not. It isn’t the ruleset or how fun or unfun one was that decided what would have been done. It were the circumstances on how these would be handled.
Either way, thinking about it, +1 to molch. While forbidding stuff like that is just cryhard, it makes no sense having some “exploits” allowed and some declined in the “restricted” ruleset.

I’m a fan of the “never give up” mentality so even then I’d no confirm the kick
That said, if it was a cleric/nomad warrior on lupi… yeah… I’d kick him quite quickly to save us all an hour of waiting while he afks and auto wins
Hey, hey, don’t hate me please, ok?
One of my friends did get kicked from an Arah run for (successfully) soloing GL because he didn’t get OOC and let them WP back. They apparently thought he was stalling and wasting their time, even though he killed the bloody boss for them when they couldn’t do it themselves. Some people..
I’ve been kicked for that quite often. Felt so used.
That’s a possible 15 seconds save for extremely bad players but a 5-10 second loss for good players. I don’t even see it being used in any serious speedrun and if, just to get a safe kill done and not to go for the quickest time possible. You’ve got two elementalists which both hit for more damage in the open, just like the thief – even on moving targets.
without a mesmer? k
You’d need a guardian anyway?!?
Its a competition. If you dont want to put the effort into being the best you dont deserve to win. .
agree. and this is why things that allow even bad players to be part of the competition and have a chance to win should be forbidden.
fast and clean lupicus kills were a major break point in arah speedruns. now even 3 year olds can perform clean kills. thats why i consider stuff like lupi wall oneshots lame.
if you allow that kitten you automatically take away everything from speedruns that makes the difference between average, good and great players/groups.

Once I had to do three grenth spots because they couldn’t manage to run there from lupicus. Guess I should have carried them with stealth?
should ban lupi wall oneshot. as long as its allowed arah records dont make any sense.
Any reason for that? Pushing lupi to the wall takes more time than the 5 seconds phase transition you MIGHT save.
Take sm64 without restrictions as an example. There has developed more new ideas on how to save time than there will ever be in any restricted case.
Restricted ruleset is like doing gw1 records but forbidding glitching enemies, forbidding hos and dc to change terrain, forbid taking quests before reapers attack, forbid basically anything. What would result is a kittenty boring thing that nobody would enjoy doing.
The difference is that this was how it was in gw2 and it was so boring and unfun that everyone decided to change it to the current system. What works for one game doesn’t necessarily work for another.
From what I understand the gw1 SC scene refuses to require videos of their records and is satisfied with time stamps on screen shots. I wouldn’t brag about their progressiveness.
The scene was so boring and unfun and that’s why it was changed? May I ask in what world you’ve been living in then? The whole thing was first divided into restricted and unrestricted when cryhards stepped up and people wanted to make those happy, showing unexploited runs. Well, greatly worked as even non exploits are seen as evil by those.
And for gw1 records, those started when there have not been a lot of recording software and barely anyone knew about those either. I suggested various times that videos shall now, where using hacks somehow found appreciation became normal, be requested and rules against hacks were made, but stupid moderators just kept approving nevertheless. Gw1 isn’t even closely as active as gw2 now. Back when it was, record competition was a lot heavier than here.
But what this whole thing adds to sigil of paralyzation or in favour of the restricted ruleset is unknown to me anyway. There’s literally no way why restrictions would make the scene more interesting and enhance new ways. When you have an array of 10 numbers and take three out, you now have less possibilities to mix them than you had before.

Well Rising, I’ve been kicked from dungeons three out of five times since I was playing again. I know I’m not the kindest player of all and might not play perfectly, but funny enough those times I have been kicked there was not a word spoken in the party chat. I may have been kicked for playing bad, though. Should get my kitten together and finally learn arah.
Jumping puzzles and other exploits are just not allowed because the gw2 community is kitten when it comes to them. Pretty much every other games main speedrun categories allow for exploiting everything there is.
To be honest, I don’t see a reason why this would be forbidden.
Sadly I don’t know kitten and get kicked very often.
I should invest some time in l2p’ing.
Frifox has made a tutorial on that as far as I know. Just replace his files with mine. I can’t really link you to it, though, no idea where I’d search for it.
Once you got the whole thing running in visual studio 2013, it’s just messing with x and y coordinates until it fits properly. The whole thing is a bit stupid because anet made different ui layouts for different resolution, so while something fits great for small interface size, it might all be too high for normal interface size.
Well, I could make a version with only pve target stuff, but as the other versions as well as a lot of other stuff is freely accessible, that wouldn’t change anything about anet’s statement to this, if they did make one. Stays to use at your own risk and own conscience.
I’ll take it that map id’s are just incremented from 947 to 959, thanks for your contribution. I’ll update the version in a minute.
I can only party agree here, miku.
What I agree on is that warrior is indeed the easiest choice if you want to get it done and ele if you’re looking for a good time. However, when going for a record (like close to it’s limits) it stops really mattering what profession you are. While the ele has less chances of rng fails in his solos (like too many aoe leeches) compared to the warrior (who will get some anyway, mostlikely), even kicks or swipes to unfortunate times used to completely kill your ele record, while they did not really matter for a warrior.
After all, getting records isn’t really hard. It’s mostly hoping for the right rng. Good prediction and execution do obviously matter, but at best help to get the record faster.
One day, I’d try 8 hours for a lupicus solo and get hit (or even killed) by p2 aoe’s after three evades. Maybe 5 minutes of those would have failed execution wise and an hour rng wise. Then, the next day I try again, do the exact same thing and have the record within one or two attempts, third day getting screwed over and over by too many attacks in phase 3.
Tl;dr: warrior are often ezmode for just getting it done, eles have it easier staying concentrated (but errors get you killed and you are forced to restack) but for pushing something to it’s limits, it doesn’t matter.
Perfect example is the current thief lupicus record. Execution wise, it wasn’t even close to as good as the old, it actually was quite bad while the old one was good until p3. But rng gets this and gives a better time for worse execution. Gotta love and hate it.

Thanks a lot for the map Id’s, aside of these I did not get any yet.
As for an only dps version, I can quickly compile that, it won’t change about it being grey zone, though. At least until arenanet chimes in to say it’s allowed or forbidden (which they won’t do).
Yeah, I did this for small interface size as I can’t stand having the screen covered with unnecessary big ui. As for individual dps, that’s not possible. Personal dps is but I can’t seem to find the damage I deal in the memory and have no time investigating further. If anyone feels like working on this go ahead.
Congratulations to the winners
Ill now be stealing all the prizes from my guildmembers if you dont mind.
Just dictator things
In need of offerings for your next meetup with nova?
Would be quite cool if you could still use the map id version if you do fotm, I still have zero map id’s.
I probably should have made it toggleable, but I felt like it’s unnecessary when it’s going to be in once and then never again (get it? anet will never release more instanced content).
That’s because the mapid version is the one that shows the map id at the middle of the screen, just like I said. It’s not for regular use but only to quickly check fotm map’s Id’s.
You have no idea how painful it is to start gw2 200 times in a row and each time set resolution to windowed and then some other fullscreen resolution after injection. As I said, I’ll work on width settings but ugh.
Updated download links, now supports 1024×768, 1280×768, 1600×900 & 1920×1080, although width options still need to be worked out a bit. This is assuming you run gw2 on your monitors native resolution (wanted to eliminate the need of computing it once again every loop) and for small interface size. I will not check for particular interface sizes and adjust positions on that.
Thanks to anyone contributing to fotm map id’s!
Yeah, I actually didn’t expect this to become so “huge”. I’ll make a little introduction and basic faq soon.
Anyway, I’m currently in need of fotm map id’s. It would be nice if somebody could find them out (map id displayed in middle of screen in another version, lazy way, huehue) and tell me (post here). I don’t need to know which map id belongs to which fractal, only the numbers. Would be nice if someone could list them up here.
Same goes for warriors rush.
Meanwhile, related, this is why I’ll never bother with a thief lupicus solo record.
That said, if it was a cleric/nomad warrior on lupi… yeah… I’d kick him quite quickly to save us all an hour of waiting while he afks and auto wins
