It’s more like a lot of people’s feel is: “devs didn’t give a kitten about dungeon for two years, especially not to suggestions, if it isn’t even mentioned in the CDI now, why would that change”.
(Dungeons in) This game are/is deadlier than dead. Two years of too much bullkitten and yet no insight, as expected.
Lol. It’s just two different runs. The seller isn’t even the same.
GM features are basically a collection of hacks. Didn’t expect them to use them.Perma invisible warriors in wvw, magically moving golems, players automatically teleporting to you, anyone?
Interestingly noone noticed the discrepancy between the gm standing next to the player but the map showing them to be far away.
Avoiding mechanics by standing in a singular area isn’t an exploit, it’s possible bad dungeon design (for example the cage room in the newer flame and frost fractal…sorry I can’t remember the name of the dungeon it’s late). In that fight there are areas in which you can avoid almost the entire fight mechanic, that’s an example of poor dungeon mechanic design.
Standing on a rock/ledge/platform while the boss attempts to hit you from below (yes there are some bosses that still have abilities that hit you), is a problem with pathing and the boss not resetting when it can’t reach the target. This is exploiting a bug.
Kiting and using geometry (running AROUND pillars and such) is a perfectly valid tactic.
Standing outside a stationary boss’s range is not an exploit, the boss “should” reset after an extended period of time, but is not. This is an example of poor boss implementation, and not an exploit.
Using terrain to block/dodge boss mechanics is also considered a valid tactic (standing behind a pillar when a boss charges).
At this point we are getting very nitpicky at each individual boss and each mechanic in question. I’m sure most of you are aware of what is an exploit and what is a mechanic/tactic. We are working on fixing these “Safe Spots”, but it’s going to take some time to get it done, and will probably happen over time. (Sorry I am not going to go into particulars for fights/changes)
I’ll be very clear here:
If a GM finds a player that is using a “Safe Spot”, that player will be moved out of the safe spot and warned (via in-game text). If they are caught again, that account will be temporarily suspended. If a GM finds a player that is using a “Safe Spot” and selling the dungeon run, that account will be temporarily suspended without warning.
EU is safe.
Dungeon Takeover From [pugs] is now recruiting.
We are very pleasured to announce that the great Heitred will lead us on our daily 30 minutes of getting each dungeon path done. One single dungeon path will just take 2 minutes, if you are busy for once. Everyone welcome, must just be fast at accepting kick requests!
Inb4 swifty banned for shouting ‘kitten’ too often.
GM’s might call that exploiting.
How about letting a server run an army of exploit-check bots that join every seller and look up if something was skipped. If so, they let the instance crash. If not, they mark that particular instance as checked and leave. Shouldn’t be too hard to implement, just the instance crashing part might get complicated.
Yes, please ban all those filthy exploiters abusing faulty game design in their own instances.
Meanwhile, there’s no way for you to detect exploiting.
And reports are widely ignored for half a year. See: wvw hackers, h*itred, others.
Theres no anti hack detection either, by the way. It’s pretty sad that endurance, position (therefore speed and teleports) are all client side.
Also, benefit of the doubt for exploiters.
Summary: Nothing happens.
Warrior: Signet of Rage, Warbanner.
Mesmer: Timewarp.
Rest: Nothing.
Like with gw1? The game is dead, but nowhere near as dead as gw2 since launch.
I’m seriously laughing at the people saying dungeons will suddenly become fun now that FGS is nerfed. Guys, the mechanics are still the same.
If anything already boring encounters will only become even more awful…
FGS barely made them tolerable.
The mechanics are still the same, and now without Fiery Greatsword you’ll actually have to learn them.
Yup.
Or you reroll warrior and facerofl your way through just as before. A bit slower, but even easier.
0, 2, 3, 2, 1, 0.
Oh, if anyone wonders, I’ve been talking about the average number of elementalists in speedteams.
Some people think that what is shown on tv is supposed to define a whole nation apparently :P
Yeah you know we all eat 10lb burgers, fry our butter and oreos, and eat cardboard pizza with plastic cheese and that’s it.
I’ll have a lot of fun doing that.
I must agree, greatly written.
Similar responses were already presented in a few guardian forum threads, geniously featuring SilentStorm. Afterall that didn’t stop them from being… erm, you know what and lurking around here, waiting for the next ocassion to start the next ‘I don’t need to present arguments’ war.
Let’s just hope for the best.
So, I’m just curious to know something: When you’re soloing Lupi after your pug has died a miserable death, what’s the max grubs you guys have finished him off with? I think my record is 6 right now. Just curious to see what y’all have experienced.
17.
Kitten, that was nothing, compared to a 25 stack naked solo.
Don’t you live in NY? I thought doughnuts were some kind of breakfast over there.
I’m nearish Boston but the real issue is fresh made warm doughnuts. The only place I’ve ever found them was Nantucket at the Doughny Flake.
I’ll be visiting boston too! Any nice hotels there? Saved up the Doughnut tip.
Don’t you live in NY? I thought doughnuts were some kind of breakfast over there.
‘Murica is weird.
Going to NYC without credit card is like visiting Arah without weapons, can’t even book a hotel, car or flight. >.<
Is that guang?
The stat difference between exotic and ascended is so negligible I’d still call it self imposed.
Lol.
How about you coming back to gw1 aco? We’re 6/8 for 14 min uw speedruns.
And no, I’d come back if gw2 cancels grind, reworks its reward system (fail=fail) and gets some more interesting build system.
You could like.. make your own thread. Kind of like how people make their own groups.
That’s elitist scumbaggery.
How far has it come, dumdums out of the guardian forum invaded the holy “flame halls” of the dungeon forum. Their burning builds will bring evil over our environment.
Remember the famous ranger letting his bear tank the grubs?
I remember when I was still on EU and you just made your ranger, you had the bear trying to res you and you stayed like that for ages because lupi couldnt kill the bear. Was like the ultimate down tank
Bear confirmed to be OP.
good times, do miss
Don’t miss the bear pulling deadeye shots through me though
Nova got your part of that covered. I still love you, though.
Thanks, thanks. I’ll do my best for #3, you might get Dhuum Swag if you don’t mind.
Because we’re all evil scumbags, taught by our grand kitten master swiftpaw.
Remember the famous ranger letting his bear tank the grubs?
Stop being inactive n come back :<
Someone used to suck up all my available time, but I don’t really feel like visiting gw2 anyway. As I may have said a few times already, despite graphics, gw1 is a much better game. Less grind, less qq, more tactic, better reward system = more fun.
Remember the famous ranger letting his bear tank the grubs?
Two weeks with lags and 2 hours without.
Reckless Dodge, y why u gone?
Honour to agony.
I would say Dub’s or Zelyhn’s voice is the sexiest EU accent, though. Hit all the right notes. But Colesy’s sense of humor is unsurpassed.
Can’t compete with Sander.
Aww yiss.
What part of ‘this skill does quadruple the DPS of anything else’ sounds balanced? What elite in the game is even on a level close to that?
Glad you asked. Let’s use the wiki and compare the base damage. Equal buffs (food, might) will multiply these values equally
The Fiery Rush line ticks 80 damage, lasts 3 seconds, and consists of 12 patches. Multiplying these numbers gives 2880 damage.
The Bear Form Charge hits multiple times for 609 damage, but the wiki doesn’t say how often it hits. If it hits at least 5 times, it actually outdamages Fiery Rush. Most movement skills hit bosses 4 times, but I personally haven’t tried Charge yet. I’d call that “close to” fgs.
Bonus: 100b+Whirlwind Attack deals 3066 damage on the same cooldown as Fiery Rush (these CDs can be reduced by traits). That’s also “close to” fgs.
As you see, all FGS really does is provide warrior-esque DPS for the ele and a second player (oh, now I see why FGS should be nerfed). So stop claiming that it does quadruple damage of anything else in the game.
Warrior-esque DPS ahahahaha.
Watch the rT 7.2s Lupicus kill, divide his hp (1,450,000) by the time spent, you’ll get 201,388.889. Divide by the number of party members and you get 40,277. So stick on max buffs and you can output a DPS of 40,277 with fiery greatsword on a heavy armour target. Now do it on medium and light armour targets – you’ll do like 60,000 DPS.
Compare this to a 30/25/0/0/15 warrior which has a DPS of 12,214.
This.. cries ..is beautiful.
Excellent maths, I can die happy now.
I don’t really see use for a pvxwiki for gw2. Way too little variety.
I will check that illusionist, sounds like fun
Where does he appears exactly?
You don’t choose the illusionist, the illusionist chooses you…
You don’t want to be the chosen.
I do!!!
Until you faceplant eating a 16k chaos storm tick.

Or increase enemies healthpools by 10 times. No nerf for eles but no more ’fiery afk sword".
I can see that most solo players feel awkward with Arch Diviner in the group setting. In fact, it’s pretty neat to FGS this boss to 50 or even 25%.
edit: Elemental isn’t a hard boss. It’s the opportunistic vet elementals which make it extremely punishing and annoying.
I agree, ignoring mechanics with an overpowered conjure is ‘neat’. To hell with actually having to use your dodge key, that’s too hard.
Seriously, any comment like this coming from an “only-warrior” can’t be taken serious.
Also, taking away conjures from ele is essentially taking banners from warriors. And removing their mobility skills. And removing healing signet. And removing healing surge and defiant stance. And taking away 6k of their hp pool.
Wait. Let’s not forget to remove “Fear Me!” and “On My Mark!”.
(edited by Dub.1273)
Now all we need is a room filled with 50 or so risen illusionists that cannot be pulled and chain agro each other.
Make them all respawn if they don’t die within 0.1s from each other. Otherwise people might cheat with weakness and clerics builds.
Where do lvl 84 mobs spawn in Arah?
Do you know the level 82 berserker after you pass the group behind the hunter on p2?
Well, yeah…
Dub, please make one of them spawn again and record it
It feels weird that I’ve been triple kicked by Lupicus before yet never seen the infamous level 84 illusionist in place of the berserker.
Happened to me only twice. :<
Seems to happen a lot less than tripple or even quadruple-kicks.
But Risen Illusionist isn’t a boss! I also consider those bosses in an unorganized group with ele perspective. Kudzu is such a pain, Liam.
Have you ever been thrown on chaos storms each 6 second which ticked for 16-20k hp on your warrior? Even with dodging chaos storms the only way to stay alive is interrupting/blocking or outranging his beams.
If that isn’t a boss, I don’t know any.
because its faster to kill the ooze in a power build
I’d kinda take any bet that isn’t the case.

Don’t miss the bear pulling deadeye shots through me though
