This one time I joined a fractal. I said “I can come on ele, guard, mesmer, warrior, or ranger, but I’m not so good at mesmer or warrior.” To the group. They said mesmer. I said okay.
So we are doing it. I’m sucking hardcore. They kept saying “mesmer do x, do y,” I just said okay and tried to do what they said… but again I suck at mesmer. We get pre patch dredge. I follow directions. I die in the room and they were like “mesmer you need to stay alive!” And I’m like “I told you I suck ed at mesmer.” And they said “Apparently you weren’t lying.” And I left party and logged off and played minecraft.
*cuddles
So let’s freaking plan this sucker!
Did you bribe devs with 5000$ worth of gems?
Let’s win reddit for it!
Just got to rename it, dungeon should be replaced with quaggan.
I didn’t think we were asking for new content… just a dev post in a thread.
We don’t live in 2012 anymore, although even back then, devs didn’t show up here.
Well I have to say his point are pretty underpinned. Atleast…
If you understood the game even remotely as much as the “elitists” around here(and weren’t a complete dracula drone which your tone makes me think you are), you’d haven’t said this, even under crystal meth.
If you’re a BHB and report this/get me infracted, it’ll just confirm it.
Stop trying to farm infractions.
I must say I’m confused, who is hendo now?
I don’t see how blowing of your legs by restrictions makes the run any more “challenging”. If it’s about speed, why would you try to set up semi records that any party not suffering under those conditions can easily break?
It would probably grant us some more viewers, though.
But I must also say that I’m realistic. Priorities of anet are ‘esports’, giving legendaries to pvp’ers, giving precursors to spectators and ignoring dungeons. I believe all those things together make it rather clear how their opinion about so called ‘pve endgame’ is. They want challenge to stay in pvp, in a pve game.
Interesting survey: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/community/links/Research-about-MMO-players-and-avatars/first#post4110858
I felt a little uncomfortable with some of the questions. Seemed very weird. But it’s for science I guess.
I don’t rp or take my characters as anything but an interface to playing, so that survey probably was even more weird for me than for you. xD
There are a few interesting options:
- Elixir U (toolbelt recharge traits maybe) – wall? kills you
- Static/Magnetic Shield – kills you
- Gear Shield – thats a block just for the engi
- Magnetic Aura from Kit refinement – kills you
- turret reflection – kills you
- Whirling Defense – kills you
- Strider’s Defense – just for the ranger, small chance
Problem about belka is the stupid orb that instantly explodes in our faces for no reason. Reflection makes it bounce back to her, she reflects it again and it kills everything around her anyway. Only thing that heps is projectile blocking, of which elexir u with 50% chance for 8s is the only viable option.
Wish you good luck, don’t let belka kitten you.
Seriously, she’s the hardest encounter in the whole run by far.
Engineer … you botched it.
:)
Afterall, this just made queen annoying to solo but didn’t change any bit in duo. It simply dies before it is able to lay down poison fields.
27:20 was our first attempt, we even wiped a few times.
However, the damage potential of said composition us just flat out horrible. 27 minutes is about the time it takes a warrior to solo this. Ugh.
Defense in this game refers to armor gained from gear. Ascended values are 1271 for Heavy and 967 for Light. Simple math gives 31.4% more defense on Warrior, not 100%. With armor values it becomes 16.1% more.
I’ve been talking about defense overall, not defense stat.
Each Frenzied Blast deals about 9k – 10k damage to a glass Warrior. Of course if you use PVT-gear or something similar it will be less. With bad luck even two hits can kill you. Even with 7k damage, taking 4 hits would mean 29k health.
Non-crits, I even have surviving four hits on video.
Healing Signet is 362 hps, not 368 hps. To get 390 hps you would need 8% bonus which is the second last tier (far from average).
I’m always healing 368+ hp/s with healing signet, even yesterday when wvw match just began. I don’t trust tooltips.
Omnomberry is 325+ hps ONLY if you proc it every time, hit exactly after cooldown and get critical hits all the time. 66% chance already puts it to 214.5 hps. Then with 93% Critical Chance it becomes 200 hps. Then with WvW bonus you can get it up to 220 hps.
I might be extremely lucky with omnomberry procs. Based on my videos, I heal pretty much once per second with omnomberry ghost. WA and 100b are both quite fast hitting.
So perhaps 500 hps which results in 5k in 10 seconds. And if you get hit multiple times you are looking at 30+ seconds.
30+ seconds is about the time it takes to heal to full 19k hp.
All Elementalist heals have 25 s or less cooldown. Perhaps you should start your Might stacking rotation bit earlier.
That would screw your damage.
Also not very fair to compare a heal with damage and a blast finisher to a heal with only healing.
There’s no other viable heal skill anyway.
Also very convenient for you to forget Omnomberry and WvW bonus in this case.
You got a point here.
However, point still stands. Comparing warriors very low risk, very high reward to ele with very high risk, average reward there is something wrong.
(edited by Dub.1273)
The warrior has twice the defense
18.3k hp, 2367 armor, 368 hp/s regen.
vs.
10.8k hp , 1836 armor, 3560 hp/27s (a lot more like 30s)= 118-131 hp/s regen.
Twice seems more like an underestimation to me.
2-3 projectiles of an aoe without dying
100%., I even took 4 of an aoe once and stayed at 1k hp.
just recover in the next 10 seconds to full
One AoE projectile is ~7k damage on average. 368 hp/s + wvw bonus (mostly 390 hp/s) + 325-340 hp/s by omnomberry ghost * 10 seconds = 6930-7300 heal per 10 seconds.
exactly 60+ seconds to recover 3/4 of your hp
Might stacking rotation is executed once your heal recharges, combined with S/F fire field time before the heal cast, you heal once per 30+ seconds. 3560 health per heal means 8.1k heal per 60s of 10.8k health. Thats 75.1%, rounded down to 75%, which is 3/4 of your hp.
If interested, I can let you play my elementalist for a bit and you can attempt some encounter solo’s. The only conclusion you can come to is that either warriors are far too easy or elementalists are far too weak.
(edited by Dub.1273)
Which it overall is, relatively to other professions.
I’m interested of hearing your definition of “risk” and “reward” in solo setting.
10 times as much risk sounds like a hyperbole to me.
Yeah it is, nevertheless the point stands. Compare a warrior lupicus solo to an lh ele lupicus solo. The warrior has twice the defense, twice the heal, 1.5 times as many evades, swiftness, a handy block on short cooldown and almost twice the hp.
As a warrior, you can take 2-3 projectiles of an aoe without dying and just recover in the next 10 seconds to full. You can take a full life drink and have no problem with dodging out of a rapidfire just once because the damage you might take is meaningless.
Now on ele, if you get hit by 1 p2 aoe projectile (mire likely, no WA longer evasion), you’re dead. Take 3 life drink ticks, you’re dead. Dodge out of a rapidfire and you’ll die to 50% just by later splashing projectiles.
All in all, the warrior has a much easier time accomplishing that. I have barely any problems killing lupicus with 1k ping on my warrior. I have problems consistently soloing lupicus on ele. Not because of bad moves, just because chances of dying to any random hit are so high .Oh and by the way, on ele you need exactly 60+ seconds without taking a hit to recover 3/4 of your hp.
But hey, all that would be okay if the ele dealt twice as much damage. But what is actually the case? Warrior deals about 1.5 times more. And all this isn’t just the case on lupicus, it can be said to most encounters in the game. It even isn’t limited to eles, no problem saying same for necros, rangers (oh god…), partially engis and thieves. Some more, some less. But warrior always has a much easier time while dealing quite a lot more damage.
Spider Queen best change. Err.
Just a reminder, guang went underground again after I challenged him, posting in other subforums now. All prepare to warmly welcome him next time he claims warrior has worst survivability.
The only run where running in a group makes sense is the one after belka, it’s really screwy if someone runs ahead, as spiders will just use their 600 range aoe bite (anet please) into the nothing and hit following people with it. Some professions (well, just necro and mesmer) can also get screwed elsewhere, but thats about it.
Aside of above mentioned scenarios, theres just one thing you can do to avoid dying. Get better.
If other classes had traits like forceful greatsword then it wouldnt be such a big deal.
And perma fury.
Lol at smiters boon, might have as well just removed it from pvp completely.
(edited by Dub.1273)
Thinking of this, I might gift you the minstrel.
I’m just a poor student with no time for (regular) work, might aswell turn my unused gold, which I have no use for, into fashion to save you from overpriced anet gems.
Edit: From my point of view, gold is more like a side product playing, rather than something to farm for. So if you feel like waiting a bit and give me some time, sure. Overall I’ve probably been giving a lot more than just 2k gold anyway.
(edited by Dub.1273)
“Fixing” fgs rush = kittening eles in solo’s.
Unfortunately, I somehow doubt Anet would care if a class could no longer solo a dungeon.
Wouldn’t change the solo’ability, it would just screw risk vs reward. Then you’d be a lot slower on ele than on warrior while raising to 10 times as much risk.
Our team already filled, I’m banned on ranger. :/
What the ‘hell’ is team bible, though?
I lately joined a duo party selling p4 for 18g, claiming they cleared the dungeon completely. I entered, ran to bloodstone and couldn’t find alive mobs. I was so surprised I just paid them for the sake of effort.
Dub, marry me?
/15lovelycharrs
I’m taken, this happened a while back.
This thread recursively bingo’s itself, too bad the OP forgot adding a recursion anchor.
I’m running out of bingo cards.
@Lindy: I wish I could tell.
@Lilith: I can confirm this.
@Emanuel: I can recall a ban for mentioning a french songtitle, due to english being the only allowed language in this forum.
Well aren’t you just the best player in the Tyria.
Probably Iam. I solod Dub in [Angz]-Server 3 times ,allthough he played Dhuumfire-Necro, what was truely Op before the patch.
On the other hand, I suck in fractals , my maths and in Tpvp as Guard.
?
I just don’t see how that makes any sense.
First of, I play pvp like once per month, second mentioning beating someone overall isn’t accurate. One could go S/P thief against a necro and wipe the floor with him, kinda no practise required. One could go Diamond Skin Ele and laugh about condition necros even more. One could go PU mesmer and troll pretty much everything. One could go dps guardian and make thieves scream loudly. Just as one could go necro and laugh about condition specs of other professions.
This is point a.
Point b is, mentioning pvp duels against a pve player (although it’s just the same against a pvp player, I’ve had matches with helseth and sizer quite regulary at time, not ending with clear dominance of one over the other) in a pve topic.
Combine both, point a and point b and you’ve got a pretty good indicator for a totally meaningless argument.
(edited by Dub.1273)
I did Lupicus solo with literally 3 seconds delay.
Warriors OP.
