I’m really surprised that you played DAoC for 7 years and don’t remember that no one’s names ever showed. It was impossible to talk to people of other realms. That is why there wasn’t any verbal harassment. Perhaps you didn’t actually play it for 7 years?

If names showed, you better believe that there would be verbal harassment. There already is with you being able to speak with people from the other servers if you get their account name and friend them that way. Then you get their character name and can speak to them as much as you want. Most people don’t know this though thankfully.

The rivalries and smack downs happened daily on VN, that was the whole fun.

It didnt show on their toons head was in your chat box dude, come on.

Grim i seriously doubt its even possible to camp one person in this game.

If i knew that persons name, he could port anywhere, what would i do?…travel the entire map ducking zergs to “grief” that one guy.

You cant talk to other servers in GW2 that im aware of.

Well we are not exactly talking about “many”. DAoC subscription numbers weren’t exactly huge but the players just seem to be pretty vocal.

Actually DAOC’s 250k was huge back in the day.

I dont understand how you would get griefed.

Played DAOC for 7 years, had names. Cant recall anyone getting griefed in pvp because their name showed.

I want to see who killed me and further more i want people to know i killed them.

I cant run around seeking revenge or seek out that good fight because..

All i know is some some green guy killed me…

Is this on purpose or just an over sight?

It really takes alot of fun factor away from pvping.

I understand its a “rendering” problem

But regardless of the “cause” its a huge problem, everyone and their grandma are rolling thief alts now

The problem with MMO’s nowdays is people do have the patience to wait around for devs to fix stuff.

Warhammer literally fell apart in 3 months..once a game is deemed a failure, its done, people simply dont come back.

I hope they fix WvW before its too late and the next big thing comes up, because people move on.

Thiefs can longer stealth while in combat.

Problem solved.

Anet please go to youtube and type in “gw2 thief stealth”

Some of the vids are just ridiculous, entire fights while in stealth. Fix before every non thief moves on.

Ranger is by far the worst class in the game, i leveled one to 80 thinking they would be boosted yet they got nerfed..lol!

If you want to play a broken class, play the ranger, be my guest, be prepared for no one even wanting you. perceptions do matter..

I played a level (16)..yes level (16) engineer in WvW last night and got more badges than i EVER got on my level 80 full exotic Ranger, go figure..

How does a game this expensive not have:

1. Player Enemy Names. I want to see the names of people im fighting, not some random generic crap.

2. RP’s & realm Abilities. What exactly am i WvWing for? for fun? ok, that lasts about 2 weeks. I want to progress my toon, its human nature.

3. WvW population imbalance is ridiculous. Most the matches are just complete blowouts where people transfer, there is ZERO server pride.

Furthermore, getting RR5 might take a month, thats all you really need for effective pvping.

No, im all for removing the score.

I play on Jade and everyone just talks about the stupid score, there is no need for it.

If your on the losing end, who wants to go play WvW when you are losing?

Im playing a different game now because leveling a toon the second time is incredibly boring.

Is that constructive enough

No idea why no one ever uses DAOC RP system, it obviously worked and kepted people RvRing for years.

Anets system of nothingness obviously isnt very inspiring.

This whole score thing is dumb.

WvW needs alot of work, has potential but not there yet.

People have defintely left the game, no denying that.

GW2 is a great game in alot of ways but once you reach 80 its anticlimatic after a few days.

DAOC only took a few days to max level but i could play that toon for years without getting bored!..

Save yourself the hassle and re-roll a warrior or quit.

By the time anet comes around to fixing the ranger class it will be months if not years down the road, they obviously do not care.

Trust me give up on the ranger, the class is gutted.

I stopped playign altogether but if i was to continue i would re-roll a warrior, ironically even their ranged is better, what a joke.

Read the Dev forums, 90% of the Dev forum is just posts saying they are locking the post, lol.

How about we get some real Dev interaction beyond locking posts…sound good?

GW2 WvW is determined by how many off hour asian players you have, kinda sad.

How do you make a PvP game with no stats or titles to shoot for?

Hey look i play WvW everyday, its my favorite part of the game.

but…

Alot of people get tired of taking the same ole keeps over and over and over and over again for just badges.

I know its been said a thousand times but you DEFINETLY need a Ream Rank system to keep people playing or it just gets old and stagnet, i dont care if its just some stupid PvP titles, you need something!

Even Realm Rank abilities dont have to be overpowered, they can be very minor stuff.

In another game i cant mention i played for years just so i could be RR12 (max) we need some kind of carrot, its human nature

They want you to buy gems, seems pretty str8 forward to me. ANET needs to make money some how.

Make it happen.

Tired of clicking around for loot bags in fights.

Send it straight to inventory, no brainer.

Whether or not its acknowledged, once a server starts dominating players start checking out because its pointless.

Its a big problem.

Close down transfers to winning servers.

Its really boring for all sides when everything is dominated

The repair costs in WvW prevent alot of people from engaging in small man/solo/duo or 5 man PvP.

I go out alot solo because i find it fun and zerging the same keeps/towers over and over again highly boring.

There are alot of people that simply ride the zerg so they dont have to pay the repair costs associated with the risk of going at it small time.

Theres no reason to rush to 80 folks.

Im only level 57 and i have played ALOT.

The vast majority of that time is through WvW and have around 2000 kills..

Sure i could have been 80 if i just PvEd but why?….stop and smell the roses, do some PvP and some WvW, theres nothing magical about turning 80, just enjoy man.

So if there are no players to fight what do you do? Jumping Puzzle?

Im not sure the solution but i can say when a server dominates its no fun for anyone.

Im on Crystal Desert and a few days ago we had the whole map, there was literally no one to fight, i ended up logging off because it was so boring.

Jumping puzzles and map completion are dumb.

Most of us just want to get the pve over and pvp

The WvW is alot of fun when/if you can get past the que but…

Its very impersonal currently. All i know when im running around is kill red/blue or green…

In DAOC for example you would encounter a well known player or rival and get excited about it,,,with GW2 its just blah when you kill someone, you will never know their name.

Where they horribad?..doesnt matter you dont know their name
