Turrets cannot be healed in the conventional way. The only heals are the self repair trait which is 5% every 3 seconds which in my opinion is only useful after a fight is over and the turrets can heal back up. Or the toolkit wrench.

I don’t take the self repair because I want my elite supplies trait.

If your a 4 turret engy you obviously don’t have toolkit.

Yes I know ppl hate that turrets can’t be crit, but consider they cannot dish out crits either.

I know ppl hate that turrets are immune to Condi. But consider that they cannot be buffed with boons either.

Are turreteers cheeseballin? Maybe.. But no more than Mm necros, or phantasm/pu mesmers.

That was probably me. Sorry. I am an old now and I have Lyme disease and my reflexes are shot so I need to play the cheesiest builds possible to stay even somewhat competitive.

That being said…

I do a lot more than just put down turrets and stand there or spam dodges. If there were no active aspect for turrets I would see your point but I think I am doing way more ai management with turrets than I do as a mm necro or any mesmer other than shatter.

But like I said.. I am bad.

Skyhammer PvP PvD! Player vs Defenestration

I got it 3 games in a row last night and I 6 out of my last 8 soloQ games. I play engineer and I STILL want the map to get off soloQ. (My team won 4/6 of the skyhammers in any case)

I got raged at last night for taking and holding mid whenever I could(which was 70% of the match) because I should have been getting hammer or going to the sides to push and pull players to death. Well kitten that. I don’t want to play that crap. I don’t like it when its done to me and I don’t want to do it to others. That’s why this map shouldn’t be on a rated competitive queues. Keep it in hotjoin. I am not going to do the whole “cant beat em join em” bullkitten. I want to PvP not PvD..

Skyhammer may be fun as hell in hotjoin for people who want to build around GRIEFING style of play, because that is what it is.

One shot kills for which there is little to no defense is griefing…

Or I can just stay at B and everyone can just suck it

Actually, the condi meda has been reduced because of hambow warriors and dps guardians.
Then, if you play a ranger you can only play a condi, because your pet steal 20-30% of your direct damage and you del lesser than the other classes (in direct damage build).
Necro can do a very high direct damage, but no one care about it and everyone use it like a condi (and it’s powerfull whit all its conditions, CC and combo fields). Mesmer… boh… i don’t know. Engi in condi build is a powerfull bunker whit CC and a large amount of condiiton damage that shot you whit 2k damage by conditions x second.

Whit a condition build you can obtain more combo whit your allies, more dps and more survavibility. And in a fight of 2-3 vs 2-3 there’s not all that condi removers like in wvsw that reduce your damage and that make you able to inflict a large amount of condition damage whit a semi-bunker build.

Whit direct damage you need to max it and you need a berserker build (or hambow warrior) and your defence fall down.

Whit a condi build you can deal 2k+ x second of conditions and be a bunker. Whit a berserker build you can deal 3k x second but whit a paper armor that make you die quickly.

Actually, whit the hambow warrior build there’s lesser condition damage, but 70% of the enemy I find in spvp use condi builds.

I don’t mean since April 15. I mean since Tuesdays strength rune Nerf… I know all about hambow, eviscerate warriors, med guards etc.

Anyone else notice a dramatic up-tic in aids builds? If so, is it solely due to the strength rune nerf? Or is it because I had a 15/17 game skid and went from the low 500s to 94% and they all play Condi toward the bottom of the ladder?

The last few days its 2 necros or 2 engies on every team. I swear I have even seen a bunch of Condi pu mesmers!

I was one of the people saying there was no condition meta but now I wonder. Unless I guessed right and this is a bottom tier thing.

This isn’t a QQ thread, I run shout Guard with soldier runes so I have actually been feeling pretty useful. I am just curious if any one else noticed this shift.

Ok so I took some of that advice and made some changes!

Switched Monk’s focus to Altruistic Healing and smite condition to Save Yourselves and I DID see a big difference! I also switched Pure of heart for Writ of the Merciful so I can heal with my mace 2 and staff .

Another switch I made was from Mage to Celestial ammy. I really like it. I don’t feel hit too kitten the heals but I feel way tankier and more dangerous. Bigger burns bigger hits and bigger crits.

I did a some pvp with this setup and performed really well I even got a few compliments from teammates and one of the enemies asked me what build I was using XD

monks focus doesnt even compare to AH when youre using 1 meditation skill… its like taking an adapt trait over the best trait in the game for guardians..
why would you take 10 in radiance over 5 in virtues??? searing flames priorities might so you will practically always strip might… but if youre running with a thief/mesmer/necro boons arent your problem!

Wait wait don’t just run me over friend. I need to know more about why you say these things. I have no doubt of the veracity of your claims but the more I understand the better I can be and that was the whole point of my posting.

Altruistic Healing is that good? It will out heal 2600 over 20 seconds? I didn’t realize this. Is a difficult test to really setup. I am to busy to try to math it.

Pure of heart for PvP? Is it that bad? What is better to replace it? I wrote that I wasn’t sure if this was a good fit. Ty for any advice.

I didn’t mind that it prioritized might with the prevalence of strength runes I thought that would be a good thing? TBH I don’t run with dedicated teams I am mostly in the soloQ and depending on teammates to strip boons…or do their job at all isn’t the best bet. Maybe if I labeled this as a soloQ build then? I didnt take the 5 in virtues because I couldn’t get to searing flames…which was the whole point.

I will try out AH and maybe add in save yourselves for more boons and heals or purging flames for more burns and strips.

Thank you for the criticism and any future advice you can give me. What I am looking for is a build that will allow me to support at mid but let me bunker a node solo and still apply some pressure to an attacker/s. If there is such a build

Hello! My first build that I came up with on my own! That’s not to say that it is original because I am sure that original builds are near to impossible now with the game being out this long. I just mean that I didn’t have any help.

Who knows? Maybe it sux haha!

Its a bunker support build but I veered away from the 2 cookie cutter I see all over. I wanted more utility than just boon support. I wanted to do some damage as well without losing any healing capabilities. I also got tired of godkitten liches so I wanted to utilize boonstrips too to get rid of that stability. What I came up with was this and I have been having some success and fun with it when I get a decent team.

Mace and Focus- For more heal with mace trait as well as the extra blocks from both items.

Sigils of Energy and Renewal on each

Mage Amulet- Some people like using Cleric’s.. I can’t run around with 13k health. I feel like I am always 2 seconds from down. Edit: I have also had fun with Celestial Ammy. Bigger burns and such. Not so hot healing though.

Rune of Water- Now there are plenty of runes to choose from here. I chose this for boon duration condi clense on hit and healing allies when I heal.

I took 2 in Radiance for Searing Flames so I could get that boonstrip. In this meta of Might and Stability I feel like boonstrip is one of the most valuable tools in the box.

I went 6 in Valor and took Defenders Flame because of the synergy with Searing Flames. Every block strips a boon on a ten second cd and I block a LOT considering Aegis, Focus and Mace 3

I took Mace of Justice next for the healing power and the lower cds. I try to switch to mace when dodging for bigger dodge heals.

And I took Monk’s Focus for the last trait. Now this one differs from what I have seen on most bunker builds. Even though I only use one Meditation I took this trait because with it I have a 2600 heal on a 20 second cooldown with smite condition. (and if I am with a well organized team I will take merciful intervention for a teleporting teamwide 2600 heal)

I then went 6 in Honor and took Superior Aria because this is a shout build and we want lower cooldowns on our shouts.

I next took pure of heart for a 1000 heal every time aegis gets popped. (Not sure about this pick. I need some opinions)

And I lastly took Pure of voice to obviously convert conditions to boons on allies.

For my heal I took Shelter. More Blocking and burning and boonstripping. And its on a short cooldown.

My utilities are 2 shouts to go with Pure of voice:
Stand your Ground because STABILITY.

Hold the Line I like because Protection and Regen synergize well and keep me up.

My last utility I already mentioned above is Smite Condition. Not so much for the condi clense because I have so much already or the damage because it is garbage but because its a 2600 heal on a 20 second cd.

Ok well that’s my build. Tell me what you think. I hope it works for you.

I have to admit anyone taking all of your life in a one shot type of scenario is going to make you suspect. I have been there, mainly with assassins they hit me for all but 1200 I think it was, of almost 19000. So I even thought something very unusual was up. I had to decide that it was cheating of some sort or the assassins are way over where they should be. I opted for overpowered. Reporting someone for hacking is not verbal abuse. trying to bug you after the report is. Unfortunately people love to use the reporting system as a get even kind of thing but that is why they should be reviewing the report and do fact finding. If you have done nothing wrong then it should show. After a good match one of the players reported me for an inappropriate name so they made me change it. So no they don’t always treat reports with sense but I have faith that they usually do. My name I had to change was Gotta Pee Man and was hardly inappropriate. I also had it a long time with no issue. Be careful of not becoming the very thing you are complaining about.

I understand. I aint got the time for that BS anyway. I was just nervous because that never happened to me before and I wanted to post some proof here in case I got in trouble for something I didn’t even know I did. I don’t know how to hack or exploit anything. But he did drop like a ton of bricks so I wonder if it could be some kind of bug? I hit him at like the very maximum range so maybe it hit twice or something? In any case /shrug after I saw all the responses about how common it is for people to act like this I felt better.

Hey there I was wondering if there are any viable support/bunker banner builds for warriors in solo/team queue spvp? I did a quick scan on the forum and didn’t notice any but I was really just skimming. I would like to find a build/ builds that are going to be more suited to higher mmr scenarios in solo queue especially.

I’ve worked my way from the 60%s to the mid 500s this past month and I want to stay ahead of the curve. I could always play my support guard but I want to try something new. I want to try a bunker/support role that can also kill, if slowly. On my guard if I am left alone I can survive a long time 1v1 2v1 but its only a matter of time that ill get stomped if nobody comes.

Tl;dr looking for a support bunker banner warrior build that has the ability to win some 1v1s and stay up a good while 2v1

I can’t even edit the screenshots, let alone hack so I just deleted. It was the conversation and combat log screenshots..

Basically some dude reported me for hacking because I wrecked him with eviscerate. I killed him with a 7.3k and he claimed it was 15k and reported that I exploited. The only explanation I have is hammer got him at the same time maybe? If something went wacky it sure wasn’t on my part. My combat log showed a hit of 7.3k. He whispered.me for 5 minutes about how I was reported for hacking… I was just using valk ammy with str runes int sigils and leeching sigil. Boom beyotch

After reading JjBiggs topic and all the back and forth discussion I think the fairest way to handle stacking sigils is to just turn them into another form of add on. Call them Icons, Totems, Fetishes or whatever. That way eles and engies don’t lose out on offensive or defensive capabilities just due to their lack of a second weapon set.

To reiterate: an elementalist and an engineer must use at all times their stacking weapon if they choose to use this sigil, while all the other professions can stack up and switch to another set with 2 offensive; air, fire, force, earth, agony etc or defensive; water, purity, generosity, etc and still enjoy the benefits of their stacks.

if stackers were a separate add on… Fetish of bloodlust for example this problem would be solved. I think.

If you were to have read this discussion, listed the build I like to play in this very topic. In detail. Its efficacy is up for debate and is rather subjective. What works well at the bottom of the ladder might not work well at the top of the ladder and vice versa. I have been playing a 3 turret build which I have listed in an above post. It is fun to me and my win rate with it far exceeds my win rate without it. My win rate on my engy is around 65%. And i was 3Losses and 9wins deep before i began running this build.

If that warrior wants to use just axe and shield he can equip that setup twice to get the full value of his sigils. I believe for a while the pve warrior meta was gs/gs. I don’t pve so this was what I gathered from reading on the forum. Your necro example was just silly and I see no need to respond.

Summed up:

There is no condition meta.

Condis are virtually non-existent in PvE

Condis are not overpowered, and in fact may very well be underpowered and underrepresented in soloQ spvp

Condis are underperforming and underrepresented in team Q spvp

Condis are insta cleansed in blob/zerg/large group WvW and rendered useless

Condis may be overpowered in 1v1 dueling. The game is not balanced around dueling.

Condis may be overpowered in small group/solo roaming WvW. Well… kitten happens. Easy fix though. Nerf Plexity and kittencan condi duration +- food

It only takes ONE utility slot to “make up” for not having a second weapon with skills.
But you CAN’T make up for the lack of sigils (at least not “in kind”)

You… You realize you can just take non-swap sigils, right?

On a more serious note.

How about stacking sigils? Other profs other than ele can have 4 sigils on 2 weapon sets which means they will always be able to have a stacking only set and a dps set.

Ex. Maybe I want to run 3 turrets and double rifle for both my weapon sets so I can have Bloodlust and energy + Air and Fire. This way I have a stacking/emergency energy weapon and a primary dps weapon JUST LIKE EVERY OTHER PROF can other than eles. Right engies and eles are the only profs with this handicap.

As it stands if we bring a stacking sigil we are stuck with that sigil no matter if we have kits to swap with or not.

No need for this boon. There is no condition meta. Its all Hambows, Turret Engies, Lichmancers/Minionmancers, Phantasm Mesmers, Bunker/Med guards, S/D thieves, D/D eles and …ok yeah Rangers are all condi from my experience. Not to say that there aren’t condition specs out there. I see the occasional unique snowflake S/S LB Warrior and PU Mesmer though the latter is a negative for whatever team its on. I have seen a decent amount of spike condi thieves and aids necros too. But honestly its like 75% Power since 4/15 from what I have seen.

Spvp the minigame has condi meta. hambow is a joke.

I agree sigils and runes have too much impact for basic components. But what I’m trying to get across is that they are a component of EVERY build for every profession. Every single one. So using the football analogy they are like the shoes or the helmets or the shoulder pads. This being the case then all access to this equipment should be equal

Classes are not supposed to be equal. Nothing more or less than that.

I mean yes, I get that you perceive it as an imbalance (and so do I, but in a different way, I think Sigils and Runes need a very heavy across-the-board nerf), but the point is quite debatable. Maybe it’s intended that Engineers (and Elementalists) cannot utilize sigils as well as other classes.

I only play spvp. Pretty much solo q only. I ain’t nothing special and don’t claim otherwise.

I play with rocket, thumper and flame turrets. Celestial amulet. Pirate rune at the moment because dat kitten bird yayuh. I like the 2 0 6 6 0 spread with ACP and the RBT & Experimental Turret gm traits. I rock the rifle.

Now with this setup I want sigils of energy all of the time and battle/leeching some of the time depending on what flavor I feel like playing. So why can’t I use them? This is the only profession that limits itself this way based on utility choices. I don’t want to change my build and shouldn’t have to.

Someone keeps bringing up one possible exploit that isn’t even all that heinous compared to what’s already out there. And I mentioned cleansing ire because Longbow burst does not have to hit, or never misses because its ground targeted aoe in any case. Which is why EVERY warrior build has CI and is x/x +Longbow…

tl;dr I want to use swap sigils. Why should I have to change my build to be able to. No other profession has to. Still no satisfactory answers imo

The dev’s answer has already been given when they designed the game and didn’t grant engineers a swappable weapon.

If this is the new direction they want to take the game then it would be fine. Personally I’m against this rubbish though and expect nerfs to runes of strength at the least.

Cleansing ire isn’t that big of a problem imo. Just avoid the burst skills (eng has plenty of ways of doing this). It’s more zerk stance lasting too long and adding adrenaline for the longer duration in addition to that.

Almost true. Just ask yourself why EVERY warrior you see in spvp has Longbow + x/x and traits Clensing Ire.

I don’t see a problem with strength runes as they are. That’s why boon removal/steals exist. I love boonstripping hambows and celestial Eles with my mesmer

I wanted to distill my other topic into this simple question:

What would be the problem with engineers having a second weapon set?

and

If there is a problem and it is due to kits, would said problem be mitigated by having the second weapon set become inoperable / greyed out when a kit is selected as a utility?

I know I am beating this dead horse DEEP into the ground, but so far I have not gotten a satisfactory answer. I would LOVE to have a Dev. weigh in.

So far the only issues I have heard are:

1. HgH builds would be out of control and engineers will be running around with high might stacks and too many condition clears.—- Well almost every class can do that in this Meta with strength runes as they are. Elementalists and Warriors are mobile might machines. As far as condition clears go I am not sure that someone concerned with conditions would take HgH over Automated Response for one thing.. and CLENSING IRE and BUNKER GUARDS for another. These “Problems” are already out there anyway so I doubt this change would be in any way game breaking.

and

2. If Engineers had a second weapon set they wouldn’t equip kits anymore because kits are subpar to “normal” weapons. Maybe, MAYBE there wouldn’t be any 1 kit engineers out there anymore. I doubt it though. EG TK BK Nades…. Subpar? I think not. Not to mention the fact that we only have access to what 3 weapons? Rifle Pistol Shield.

To put things in my perspective; I pretty much only play spvp now and I run a 3 turret bunker engineer. Now just because I don’t have a kit I lose access to Sigils of Battle, Doom, Energy, Geomancy, Hydromancy, Intelligence, Leeching and Renewal. I think that’s a huge hit. Some of those are the best in the game in my opinion. Sigil of energy is huge for almost any profession and any build.

Not to mention that I am twiddling my thumbs when everything is on cooldown…because I don’t have anything to swap to.

And again I would be ecstatic if a dev. could come on and give their 2 cents.

I dont agree with giving weaponswap and then losing weaponswap when a kit is slotted. It would make the oppertunity cost for a kit far to high.

You have two full fledged weapons. Then by equiping 1 kit you lose your weaponswap, so you trade a weapon for a weapon with no sigil. And you spend a utility slot to do it.
Disregarding the fact most kits are worst then a real weapon anyway.

Thats not a good trade-off at all for using a kit.

You think people will stop using kits? I didn’t think of that. Its possible. I doubt people would slot just 1 kit anymore…but then again have you seen how limited our weapon selection is? EG TK are just as good as regular weapons in my opinion.

Regardless, if it is a case of people using kits less than they do now… I’m ok with that. They are not the class mechanic. Again. That is the tool belt.

If the choice is:
1. No second weapon set. Kits are nearly a must have and use up utility slots.
or
2.Granted a second weapon set which is greyed out if a kit is slotted.This frees up our utilities. This also may make kit usage lose some efficacy.

I truly believe 2 is the lesser evil

I don’t HAVE to slot kits. If devs want engies to be forced into kits then fine..do like elementalists attunements and get rid of tool belt. That way I can still utilize all my utilities.

problem mainly comes from I see this as less “I want to use a second weapon” aka rifle to pistol swap, more a “GIVE ME SWAP SIGILS FOR FREE!” you have access to swap sigils with out being stuck in that skill set, you can get access to the three crit sigil without having to be stuck in the set you swapped to for 10 seconds, you can hit mekittenit, got back to rifle in 1 second and abuse 3 huge crits on rifle if you so pleased. what other class can do this? if you start in fire, you cant go back to fire to abuse the crit on ele for example, you would have to start out in another attumenet. “I dont wanna use kits!” well I dont wannause swap sigils so dont break the game just for your own wants and needs. We have the means to use swap sigils, just cause you dont wanna take the time to take the steps to do it, and make the sacrifices is your problem.

I don’t get the whole “for free” thing as if I am being unreasonable. Every other profession has access to these sigils “free” without having to sacrifice a utility slot. That’s all I’m asking for.

While I thank you all for the replies..

they seem to only be about the first part of the post and skipped the 90% of the rest of it. That sucks that turrets don’t trigger crit sigils or even crit at all for that matter. But that being said I would rather have the 2nd part. I would love to have a weapon swap if I have no kits equipped. That way I could utilize swap sigils like Leeching and Battle. If I could use Battle I could then make better use of str runes which would then make me build less hybrid and more power yada yada… Basically further increasing engie build diversity.

I want to run 3 turrets and still have a weapon swap please. Or 2 turrets and elixir S.. 1 turret elixir S and Rocket boots…. etc etc etc

I am wondering if the “On Crit”—- Fire—Air—-etc take effect on turret hits. I am at work so I can’t test at the moment. If they don’t then I really think sigils for engineers need to be looked at.

I suggested on the engineer forums that this profession SHOULD be able to equip 2 weapon sets until a kit is equipped. Equipping a kit would then grey out the second weapon set. I made this suggestion because I think it is unfair to assume that engineers would ALWAYS have a kit utilized.

Engineers always get lumped in with elementalists when it comes to weapon swapping and I think this is unfair. Elementalists’ class mechanic IS attunements and attunement swapping. They HAVE to utilize this mechanic and doing so they still have access to all their utility slots.

Engineers on the other hand have the Tool Belt as their class mechanic. They do not have mandatory kits equipped and have to use up their utility slots to do so. They could also choose NOT to equip kits. There are plenty of other utilities to choose from. Right now there are lots of engineers playing 3 turret builds for example. Why should they be denied a weapon swap and an entire category of sigils because they do not choose to slot one kind of utility?

The treatment of this profession seems to be all over the map. I know it is the youngest profession but it should stop being treated like the moronic stepchild with adhd

If anything I think there should be a debuff that increases conditions damage like vulnerability does for direct damage. I’d call it Exposed or Exposure.

And a debuff that makes you randomly spread your conditions to allies..or maybe even enemies for that matter. I’d call it Virulence.

Sorry if this has already been mentioned…

There is no tooltip that tells you this but turrets do have a limited lifespan before they self destruct and go on cool down. I am just wondering if this is bug or just another tooltip omission and working as intended. Though I don’t see how this could be working as intended…

Kinda sucks when you hold a node for 2 or 3 waves and as the next comes in your reasons for existence start going poof at the worst possible time. I try to refresh them when fights end but with rocket and thumper it gets tricky because of their long cooldowns. And I am annoyed because I really don’t think I should have to do that.

The only time I would be ok with this happening would be a distance thing.. like say at 3000 turrets automatically self destruct.

What’s the deal?

What seems illogical to me is that you’re playing a fantasy RPG and you’re somehow stuck on being logical. You can make an argument for any race to be mesmer so play the one that looks and feels best to YOU. Unless its pvp then pick aura because its tiny or char for uber bodyblocking.

Your idea is great my frand! Unfortunately kitless Engineers will still be bad! We don’t have a lot of weapons to choose from! In fact we don’t have any weapons to choose from! If we want to weapon swap it will be from Rifle to Pistol and back! These weapons are very weak by themselves because they are balanced around having kits to swap to and from! I think this is a great idea but in order for it to work we need more and better weapons! If you ask me, judging from how Arenanet balances this game, everyone will quit before that ever happens! A real shame! Real shame!

While I definitely agree that the weapons are lacking, I have to ask if 3 turret engineers are that bad? Maybe at higher levels than I have yet reached they lose viability but where I am I carry teams pretty hard. My setup is more power than condi but it still has decent amount of hybridity (<——Awesome word usage detected)

Now I use a rifle with this because I like the net and the overpowered shot to keep enemies off my node.

I would like to be able to run this setup EXCEPT Id like to have Rifle P/P with Strength runes, battle sigil and corrupt sigil.

Granted I will miss my birdie but I should be able to sit somewhere around 14-18 stacks of might with Flame Turret up and that + the 7% damage should make up for him.

That’s why I want it. Not so much because I want another weapon set..I just want to have access to SOME weapon swap even if I don’t have a kit.

I don’t have a problem with the MMR I have a problem with the fact that something can’t be done to distribute profs as evenly as possible between the 2 teams. How hard can that be? Ok so we cant get away from Team comps that may be uneven due to the meta..fine..ok I understand fully. Nothing can or should be done about that. But I don’t want to see teams with 3 of one prof on one team and NONE of that prof on the other.

How exactly DO teams in soloQ get determined? I am getting so frustrated with some of these team compositions… I don’t see why I should see matchups like engy thief thief thief mesmer vs warrior warrior necro guard ele. How hard is it to get teams with an even distribution of profs?? I think it should be easy enough… I’d even say it shouldn’t be too hard to get an even distribution of archetypes (soldier, adventurer and whateverthe&#%$) light, med, and heavy armor.

I am trying to climb out of the pit of terrible at the bottom of the ladder and its so frustrating to get derailed every other game by 4v5s, AFKrs and horrible team comp.

I am finally getting better at pvp. Decent enough to carry a sub par team to a close win or, unfortunately a close loss. But sometimes all I do is press b prefight and I know how things are gonna play out and i think its bull. Why isn’t team composition an easy fix?

Shot in the dark… You don’t use a kitless engy? Because if that is the case then this idea does not effect you.

If in fact this isn’t the case and you are a kitless engineer I don’t see how you think things are fine as is. Some of the most effective pvp sigils are on swap. And unless you build your engy a certain way you will be locked out of these bonuses. So if I want Battle..which I do to better synergize with strength runes, I have to drop one of my turrets, effectively neutering my build.

Basically I feel forced to use kits on order to utilize all the benefits other classes take for granted. If kits were the class mechanic like attunements..ok then you build around that. In fact the tool belt is the class mechanic sooo…… Give me my second weapon set if i have no kits utilized please.

I mentioned this briefly on a profession balance topic.

Unlike eles who’s class mechanic is attunements and therefore ALWAYS having attunement swapping, engies do not HAVE to use kits. I would like to take advantage of weapon swap sigils if I happen to be using 3 turrets.. Or 1 turret and elixer S and… I dunno Rocket Boots or whatever.

With that being said I believe engies should have the same weapon swap options as the other professions unless a kit utility is selected. Once a kit is selected the second weapon set is greyed out. Is this a bad idea for some reason I am not thinking of?

I test it on the golems.. Hello. I am the Guild Wars 2 version of an everyman. I play too often and care to much to be casual, and I am just not good enough to be “pro”.

I wanted to preface my topic with this because I think am more rule than exception when it comes to the GW2 population.

I wanted to comment on a couple of comments you made in a t s e’s map vote post.

“Skyhammer is only an example of a map that some people have vocalized that they like less than others. There will always be maps that people like more and less than others.”

I think I speak for many in the soloQ player population when I address this. It is not a matter of Skyhammer not being popular, its about Skyhammer being toxic, and upsetting to many players. I want to PvP Evan. I don’t want to get feared, pushed, kicked, blasted, hammered etc off ledges to my death. I don’t want to get Scorpion wired, magnetted, etc through the glass every time I go to points A or C. I don’t want to build my character into a the type of cheeseball that does this type of play in order to fit in.

I want to play rated tournaments. That means I am forced to play this map. Many times these games end of being 4v5s anyway because people see “Skyhammer” and they decide to Esc>Exit to Desktop>Make a Sandwich>Eat Said Sandwich>Log back in and hope the match is over and they can just Re-Queue. Or they join the game and cap one node then afk/ talk smack/ complain/ etc.

I don’t understand why this map cannot be taken out of the rotation. It is nothing but troll PvP. It will still be popular in hotjoin so its not like the time spent developing it would go to waste.

My suggestion-Take Skyhammer out of SoloQ and add in Courtyard 3v3 team death match!

Just the 2 cents of your average GW2 PvPer

Thanks for the feedback! After playing with the build a little more I noticed right away I was getting very little out of Hemo, so I switched that to Weakening shroud because my new shift is toward more DS anyway. Because of that I also dropped Flesh of the master to grab Vital persistence. Since I am only using the Flesh Golem now, I traded Training of the master for Chill of death as well.

One big change I made was to go with strength runes. With my switch from signet mastery to reapers might and my dropping Shadow Fiend for Blood is power, I believe I can keep might up at all times. I will be doing both direct damage and conditions via terror and dhum and whatever bleeds I throw out so I think increasing both forms of damage can only be a good thing. I also traded my Sigil of corrupt on staff and sigil of geo on dagger for Battle sigils for more guaranteed might.

I was feeling a bit squishy so I added on spectral armor for the prot and life force and spectral wall for prot and another fear.

SO…… Step in the right direction? Or…fail? Here’s the updated build.

Hello folks. This is my first ever build post. I’m not posting it to say “Hey look how good it is” because I am sure the pros will shred it. I It may not even be original for all I know but I didn’t find a similar one during a quick search.

Its a hybrid build utilizing all aspects of the necro. I terror, I minion, I power and I DoT. I use it mostly for pvp in group fights where I can sneak in a signet of spite and then epidemic. My minions do decent damage and confuse the enemy by clogging up the area.

Basically I am wondering if this can be improved at all without being totally changed. I have tried things like switching my non elite minion for Corrupt boon and using scepter instead of axe. These configurations have also shown some positive results for me.

I was thinking of dropping flesh of the master to get vital persistence..more death shroud means longer life and more dhuumfire.

My pvp record sucks for those who look it up and want to see if I have been winning with this build. I cannot for the life of me find myself on teams that want to win so I can only gage my own performances (holding mid 2v1 till help arrives, holding down home point the whole game, etc) The solo Q has become a joke.

But I digress… tell me what you think.
