If you have the gauntlet ticket in your inventory, it will not disappear when flame and frost is removed.

The way it works is, when you use the ticket, it summons the vendor, then you use the ticket as the currency to buy the gauntlets you want. This functionality does not depend on flame and frost being active, if you wanted to wait a year and use it on the flame and frost anniversary, it would totally still work and give you your gauntlets.

Am I reading to much into this or are you indirectly saying that there will be an anniversary event a year from now?

The simple answer is probably yes. This is a “special” promotion they are running along side of the Fire and Frost arc.. That being said, there is no reason at this point to think that it may or may not come back if the dyes are leaving after this story event is over.

I had searched the thread for a similar topic and had found none (rare it seems) and so here it is… Moving the remember password and remember account name a little further away from the log in button on the log in splash screen. It seems that as close as it is to the log in button as it is that there would be times when you hit the wrong area from time to time (just happened to me).

No, you are still missing the point. Runes/sigils within the gear are irrelevant in the equation. The rarity of the item (white, blue, green, gold, orange) those are the only thing that matters in the process. You cannot however get an item better than exotic quality from the mystic forge.

Magic find is only for mob drops.. It does not work on chests or the Mystic Forge.

I understand that (as I stated in my question), but the skins are not a guaranteed drop, its a chance drop.

In the winter event, you could get items out of the end chest that sold for more than 1 gold too, but the winter skins didn’t cost any gold, just the socks you would get out of the present boxes.

In the XMas event the skins were either all chance from the gifts or you could trade in larger amounts of the farm able drops for a skin (as opposed to buying more boxes).

In this event the BB’s are a static farm instead of a random drop (though you can still get a 2% chance of getting a non account bound skin in a chest). Since they take the randomness out of this, I think that is why they added a coin requirement to the trades. It might not be the most satisfactory answer, but I think it was intentionally made for a reason along that line.

Actually that is something Collin specifically said. This is more or less a testing period to see how well the content is received by the community (paraphrasing).

Because then people with less skill are less rewarded. There are always people who want more and more challenge and want everything to be crazy hard. I have no problem with that, let people play how they most enjoy playing. What I do have a problem with is when that playstyle receives greater rewards, because people playing on hard mode because they enjoy it are already being rewarded by the fun they are having playing it the way they like. If that is not reward enough then they shouldn’t play in that mode. People who would prefer to play on normal mode should not feel pressured by the loot tables to play on harder modes just to get the most efficient loot gain.

I just really hate the attitude of "the existing modes are too easy, there should be a harder one that I would enjoy more. . . and also it should give me extra cookies for playing it because who would want a harder mode if they don’t get paid extra for doing it? If they add a hard mode, play it or not, don’t expect them to give you extra cookies for it.

The concept of the game was to reward skill. There is no reason why a hard mode version could not have slightly better rewards for it’s completion. If you are wanting to make sure that it stays “fair” then you should be arguing that the end rewards of what you can purchase with these are attainable regardless of which level of difficulty you choose to participate in instead. I.E. more baubles for harder versions but the purchasable items (skins, items, pets, ect..ect..) should be receivable by anyone that puts the time in to get them.

Since the ranks require a significant amount of effort to get any benefit from them, it’s ill advised to use more than one (or two) characters in WvW. Since different professions might want to aim for different bonuses first, each character could have available points to use according to the account rank.

They had mentioned this and said that they had meant to keep it character based instead of account based so that we could have different builds.

My favorite is all the ones that have semi hidden entances. I delight in showing guildies the entrances. Especially the non-jp mini jp tomb tucked away in west sparkfly fen just past the vista up on the ridge. We spent a good 20 minutes pooring over any and every nook and cranny with many emotes looking for anything at its ‘end’

Or the vacant jp in AC with the invisible beams.

I enjoy the non jp puzzles and locals as much as those with actual rewards at the end

I am not sure how that system would work when going into specifics. The command line “-repair” that you added after the exe, was this removed before trying it again? Was the folder moved to a different location? If it was not moved and you had removed the -repair line, than it might be possible that it is finishing that form when you tried earlier. As in, it had gotten stuck at that point and is completing the process now.

5700+ kills in Wv3. 1300+ badges. ~23% chance to get a badge per kill. I don’t do the jumping puzzles (I have maybe done 5). I feel like it is fine.

Tip: You need to deal damage to players to get drops. Executing them gives you nothing.

While Wv3 drops do need a look over, I don’t think badges are in a bad spot. They should be something earned rather than bought or easily farmed. You have 2 choices, kill people and help your server or do jp and help your server by giving away bps.

I agree with the badge drops being in a good spot. One thing I would like to see in the drops though would be the gear drops being level dependent only on your character lvl instead of having a chance to drop at their lvl.

What Khinsanth says is right. When you get to the top of the structure in front of you in the pic, then you finish that step and the story mission.

I’ve noticed this as well, the number of ecto’s have seriously been nerfed in some shape or form. at 38s per on my server, it’s only bound to go up now in price, which is crappy for those crafters who are trying to hit 400, or people trying to make things in the Mystic Forge.

I’m sure a few people will take advantage of it like that, and that’s why the event needs to be changed. It blocks progression of the quest line too. It really is just bad design for a world event.

Going in and killing mobs is the norm for events, and when one changes that up, and you kill mobs and get called an exploiter, it’s really annoying. I don’t think it’s something you’d get banned for, but it upsets new players to the event, and people trying to progress the actual quest line and finish the event.

It’s way too complicated.

You could just ignore them. If they are going to whine and complain about it, then they are not even worth the time of responding. It is one event and there are many others to do. If they do not like it, they can find a different event easily to do. It is an event that presents an opportunity to prolong it as long as you can or want.

It seems like this topic comes up after every patch asking if the last one bugged it or stealth nerfed it. I was able to get ectos yesterday from salvaged golds I had crafted. If you do not get any, than it’s probably just bad luck on RNG.

I have had the same problem for about a week. With the exception of yesterday, it has happened every time. I was able to alt tab and get a window that says it was unable to open * .

I should have added that it was only in about 1 in 5 loot drops that I was getting the level 1 gear.

That has been discussed before by some of the moderators (sry I do not have a link available). There has been some talk about starting a scavenger hunt like event for them. As far as I know, there has not been anything more discussed about it than that. Personally I think that there will be some “unveiling” in the next couple of months over this, but again, that is just my speculation.

Anet decided how many Ectos ‘drop’.

So, for me, it is clear that Anet certainly helps to determine the price of Ectos.

The argument is easily refutable when you take in account of time spent farming for these. There are people who spend more time than others in “creating” these than others, thus giving us our global supply. As far as demand, it is up to the individual to decide what they want to use those for or if any at all. If you project this on a massive global scale than you get ectos for approx 30 silver per.

I was on my lvl 32 nec before the patch (approx. 8 pm PDT) in Gendarren Fields (not sure if map mobs would be relevant) killing lvl 28-34 mobs and was recieving lvl 1 gear from them.

Run it with a group if you want drops. I am sure it is a bug, but it is not a new one. This goes with most large fights whether there is a high health mob (ex. champion) or a large number of regular mobs.

This is an old bug actually. It has been around since sometime at or shortly after launch. What Mira told you is correct though, revisit the chantry and that should clear it up. In the future you can use the search option and look for threads where people have already asked this question and have been answered. It will save you a lot of time.

It could just be a bit of bad luck (bad rolls of the RNG). The estimate of 30% sounds pretty close to what I have recieved on mine.

I am still getting the d/c’s even after the quick fix patch. It does seem to be a little less often now, but it is happening about every 20-30 minutes.

It is an ongoing bug. It has been like that since at least launch.

Also had the problem of not getting a gift. I had spoke with tixx before the characters (pc’s and npc’s) had loaded on my screen. I did not see a chest at the time and had switched from the overflow. After the main LA map had loaded I spoke to him again to see if there was an option I had missed to get the gift and he told me one gift only. I checked the chest since I could see it then and was not able to get anything form it. It had appeared open and there was not an option to loot available. The only chests I had looted from since the last daily reset were in the tixx dungeons from running some guild mates through the ones they missed the days prior.

I am not sure why this was removed to begin with. The graphical err was not that big of a deal and a simple disclaimer would have been appropriate.

Only problem with that is if someone does have to drop out due to real life issues and they want to find a replacement. It would be better to code it so that if someone leaves the group on their own (not kicked) that it does not activate that part of the code. And allow an option to hide the part of the invite that shows party invite requests if someone is in the instance.

Council Commendations seem like taken straight out of GW1 with all its commendations/trophies that could be exchanged for stuff at the right type of vendor. Culling and farming was not really an issue in GW1. Imagine that they do add a system simular to nich and yak in this game. Remember how bad it was during the karka event, invisible players and mobs. Imagine that going on for a week straight in specific areas. I like the idea of having a simular system introduced to this game, but there needs to be some major work done to insure the issue with invisible players and mobs do not return.

I would be interested in knowing if the lore (that would be made up later) if the pale tree was somehow connected with melandru. Maybe a champion of melandru or a “reincarnation” of her spirit before the gods had disappeared.

Actually that is very fair. You would not expect to get a reward for an event you did not participate in? If someone tried and was unable due to bug then that is a different matter. You are arguing whether you will choose to or not and still expect a reward? The main problem with the “sylvari are already corrupted, nightmare court are the real thing” is that corruption seems to be a one-way journey in the universe of GW. You don’t get better from becoming Risen or an Icebrood or a Branded…or from falling into Nightmare. (It’s a key plot element in the Moon Shield arc.)

Different type of corruption. The nightmare court is a corruption of philosophy and emotion. Dragon corruption was in physical and in “soul”.

There are several things that Anet could do to improve the TP (the interface isn’t exactly user-friendly with the tabs that reset everytime and the unclear drop-down box, there are no fees on buy orders which encourages flipping, there is no switch to only see armor & weapons that you can use, you can not search for a certain statistic on armor or weapons…). But the selling fees are fine in my opinion.

I do not know why you see a problem with people flipping goods on the TP. I do not mind people doing that so much as it helps to keep prices on the various goods stable.

I would like to ask something about this. We know that griefing others in game is a violation of the ToS we agreed to, but when we see asdafsds running with his group and each are going from point to point and it is blatantly obvious that they are bots.. Could we actually get in trouble for any type of griefing maneuver on them? I.E. pulling champs on them, dropping purchased enviromental weapons on the ground next to them to pick up and use (personally I like the “peg legs” from the vendor in bloodtide coast), or using mesmer portals to break up the gang and port a few into something it cannot handle?

on Darkhaven a lot of bots have disappeared. A few new ones replaced them but nowhere as many as it used to be. So thanks for getting rid of them, and giving the human players their game back!

On my server Sorrows Furnace it seems to be the exact opposite. It seems to be 2x-3x more bots now than there was a month ago.
