Anet is the one i dont support anymore. ever
You then support thieves, hackers, and organizations that only want to profit from online games without regards to their economy in the present or future.
Well thought.

Lodestones are another problem, not related to the market. They’re not farmed by many people because their drop rate is abysmal.
T6 materials are just fine, go out and farm them, then sell them for profit. You will probably buy them after the patch (and after revealing the mystic forge recipes) at half price anyway.

My guard is just sitting around because hes 100% useless in WvW. hes got 1 good skill wall of reflect.
Warrior in WvW is 1000000X better. 2 real ranged options = OWNING!
Warrior with a 2h hammer = CC to death.
You’re misguided at best.
I really suggest you see some good videos on Guardians in WvW. In this forum you will find many examples of good Guardian playing offensive and defensive PvP.
Guardian with Hammer → CC to death. Try it.

I think most of the posters in the thread need to re-read the information on ascended gear and Fractals of the Mist dungeon, including the blog post, over and over until they actually understand it. there is nothing here to be up in arms about. Nada.
Ascended Gear has stats on par with Exotic Gear that has enhancements already applied. Ascended gear removes enhancement slots in order to be able to provide infusion slots. This gear will not be more powerful, outside of Fractals of the Mist, than properly enhanced Exotic gear! Ascended gear will provide another method for players to acquire exotic quality end game gear, but some may miss the opportunity to customize their stats via enhancements.
Where Ascended Gear shines is when equipped with infusions, or when the item comes with resistance to the new FotM exclusive monster condition built in. This system will allow players who play a lot of FotM to get deeper and deeper into the FotM experience on a given extended run.
It’s an end game dungeon progression, but the gear progression provides zero gear inflation outside of FotM!
I look at FotM as another form of adjunct game play in the same vein as WvW and sPvP. They are optional forms of alternative game play meant to appeal to people with particular play styles and content preferences. You can completely ignore FotM dungeon, if you wish, and you will not see the rest of your game play suffer as a result. Others may play FotM almost exclusively. It’s just another way for the game to broaden it’s appeal and offer players more game play options to suit thier changing mood!
^^
This.
I already stated it. Ascended Gear has built-in upgrade slot, yes, but you cannot put your runes in it. Only Infusions. This is what i surmised after having read the blogpost at least six times (i am not english native, so i have to read multiple times).
So, Ascended could be WORSE than exotics, because of the lack of stats from upgrades!
Guardian of Moonlight Shadow [MLS]
I read most of the thread, and i vote yes, tentatively, to the new mechanics.
I really hope and i suggest that Ascended Items can only be upgraded with Agony Resistance upgrades. No other stats.
That would be an equalizer, and won’t create a gear treadmill, as the Ascended Items will only be useful in the new dungeon, and be inferior (or equal) to similar exotic items just because of the missing upgrade stats. So people will slowly create an “Ascended Set” when dabbling with the new dungeon, and using their normal set in every other circumstance, as we now have a “Magic Find set” when we want to do hard farming.
New players won’t have to do the gear treadmill if they don’t want to do the new dungeon, as they will become useful only in some content and useless in the other contexts. No WvW syndrome, and “LFG only Full Ascended”.
This remembers me of a particular boss in WoW, where we were forced to wear useless items (stat-wise) to have the Arcane Resistance needed to tackle it…
Sure, if the Ascended Items will be normal items in all aspects ( freely customizable → superior to exotics) that will create another WoW-Clone gear treadmill that i would rather have avoided at the start.
We’ll have to wait, see and hope.
Personally, commenting on the future is tiresome, and i will wait for the patch to do any other comment.

The only problem right now is that precursors (and Legendaries) are buyable/sellable. If they were Account Bound nobody would talk about them.
that’s not true. A big part of the problem would still remain, the fact that you have to gamble and be extremely lucky to receive one. Doesn’t feel legendary at all.
That’s true, but we will get rid of the “it’s amoral that they cost so much”, “it is all a ruse to force us to buy money”, “the exploiters/cheater had them and they’re dominating the market”, etc.
At least we would only have to deal with a gameplay issue, and not whit an economic crisis…

I don’t really think Arenanet is banning only because of our reports.
They make an investigation first, then they drop the Dhuum hammer.
so do you mean some innocent people that got reported maybe cause other people thought we were bots and we were first priority to be “investigated” ? and by saying that they already make the investigation so they “drop the Dhuum hammer” means its 100% sure that concrete evidence was given so all of us here got banned ?
we do not know infact how they actually ban “potential bots” , but if we all assume what you say is true , i think i might have to reconsider playing gw2 or even suggest anyone to play cause someone could just report me for not replying and i get banned for it .
most people i know hate being blame for something they did not do , its injustice . and i’d prefer you not making it sound like we all deserved it thank you
Nowhere in my sentences i imply that you deserved it. It is not my work, but Arenanet’s.
What i think about the bans on innocent people, is that maybe they got caught within a mass of other bots, i.e. farming trolls at Frostgorge while surrounded by bots, someone reported them all, you were included by error and got Dhuum-banned.
And remember, the ban couldn’t be for “the moment the screen turned black”. It could be related to an activity done days before. They investigate, and as it’s a human investigation it can fail.
If in the log you see
aaaa does skill 1
bbbb does skill 1
cccc does skill 1
… YOU do skill 1 …
yyyy does skill 1
Snow troll is killed
Repeat pattern XXXX times.
You could wrongly be considered part of the bot train, just because you killed the same mobs. That’s the reason because when i want to report someone, i stop all activities, don’t kill any mobs, only follow them and study their movements, then whisper them all and then report and GO AWAY IN ANOTHER ZONE.
Be sure i never reported people if i haven’t be sure 100% they were bots. Don’t ask me how i would be sure, because you all know: same movements, exact to the inch, 180° flawless turning, exactly in the same points, same patterns, etc. repeated for 15-20 minutes in the same places, killing the same mobs.
But i could be wrong; it could be one elaborate bet of these players that they can mimic one other perfectly; it could be some roleplayer theatrics jig.
In my experience, the ban-wave is working, at least on my server. I symphatize with the innocent players wrongly caught in these bans, but you will have your account back and play better without bots, of this i am confident.

I think that the answer of Gaile meant that it is ok to bind one skill with a button, it is not-so-ok letting the keyboard play for you.
Even in WoW, for /castsequence macro, you had to mash the button, unless you used the keyboard to mash it for you… and then, it could be considered “third party software”.
So, stick with “simple” combo, but don’t bind “W 3 seconds, Tab, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 9, 6, D 1 second, repeat”…. could be BAAAAAD

if you’ve got the mats, buying all the exotic 400 recipes and crafting them can net you a profit.
in terms of flipping karma bought items? i don’t think that’s possible since they are usually SB or AB
No, you will not be able to sell to a merchant or Trading post anything bought from a karma vendor. They have even stopped the salvaging of the blasted items. So if you don’t plan on having that piece of karma bought armor very long don’t put your fave rune on it, you won’t be able to get it off.
As pointed out before, the only use for them is put them in the Mystic Toilet and see what happens

Bought mine on Ebay, suspended after 24hrs..if it is an illegal key, I need an actual statement as to why I was banned so I can ask for a refund/dispute Paypal, 48hrs later I still haven’t gotten any reply other than “escalating your ticket to sales team”.
Got an entire weekend and no game to play -_-
Most of the times the owner of the card used to buy the account asked for a chargeback, then they sold you the key.
What i really wonder is why they do that on paypal, so easy to get refunded..

Sorry to intrude in the thread, i haven’t been suspended but i wanted to share my opinions on the ban-wave that is scourging GW2.
Those that follows are my congectures and opinions.
First of all, i read about your activities, but i want to ask you, have you participated in obviously bot trains to get advantage of the faster loot? Like going from event to event in Orr, while in bot-only parties, only to get the karma/loot?
If i see a bot train, or even a single botter, i stop all activities and watch them, then report them and go away. This is a consolidated habit from other games (Ultima Online, for example), where GMs appeared at the very moment i reported the botters and usually unleashed their power on all people present…
This time, however, the GMs are not present. They see logs, they see your name doing the same activities. And then they mass-ban. You have to then prove your innocence, while being in the same place and time, doing the same things as the real culprits…
Then is the reinstatement: be sure that botters WILL submit a ticket to Support, and WILL plea for their case. They WILL swear their innocence. Why shouldn’t they?
I know this doesn’t sum all the cases in this thread, but most of them could have been hit in this way. Just be assured, when logs are then cross-examined, a real player is easily spotted (skill variation, dungeon armor, more than one weapon or pet present, etc.) and can easily be picked up from the botters that use the same patterns over and over.
I think that the step when your login message “changes” is this step, when they check your logs to be sure you’re a real player. If they go to unauthorized access, i think it is usually due to VPNs, proxies, or dynamic IPs or similar issues. They then release you (if you’re innocent).
So, i think i will stick to my present behavior to avoid bans, and hopefully when this banwave will cease, the real players, even the ones that were unjustly harassed by it, will have a cleaner game and an overall better game experience.
Best luck to you all for your reinstatements, at least for those that are really innocent

Is the boon source that modifies them, not the target. i.e. Your boons have a +30% duration, regardless if they’re applied to you or other people.
Source: Wiki
Boon Duration, also known as Concentration, is a secondary attribute that improves the duration of all boons applied by the character. It is measured as a percentage
In regards of Combo Fields, from wiki:
When applicable, the stats of the character that activated the finisher are used to calculate the combo effects.
Guardian of Moonlight Shadow [MLS]
No, that’s not true, might stack on intensity, not on duration. So, every stack of might has its own duration and will expire accordingly.
Example: as a Guardian i can stack might with:
- Empower (8s)
- Save Yourselves (10s)
- Empowering Might (5s)
and all of them will expire at their duration even if stacked.

More than social servers, you can usually find some “sociality” in populated places, like Lion’s Arch, or Divinity’s Reach, or Orr.
I don’t think server is the problem. But, it would have helped to know your native language
Desolation (my server) has a good community, but it is overpopulated, so if you’re not fond of having a queue for WvW, you better choose another less crowdy one.
Guardian of Moonlight Shadow [MLS]
Amazing suggestion, i agree with that fully!
Guardian of Moonlight Shadow [MLS]
A: No, the precursors (as the Legendaries) are meant to be the rarest of items, and the stuff of Legends.
You won’t be a Legendary Hero if it was so easy as to follow a recipe.
IMO, Legendaries should be a guild-effort like Thunderfury was in WoW. Yes, i know someone of you farmed it by himself when the content was outdated, but in that times, it will need a guild effort to make it.
This could be a suggestion for Anet. Let’s make Legendaries a guild effort, instead of a personal one.
Much of the whining will cease instantly.
Guardian of Moonlight Shadow [MLS]
Those people who laments about market prices are really off-target. Market is supply/demand. BUT prices have to meet, and will meet when the demand adjusts to the supply.
Right away we have a shortage of supply. Sellers feel justified to raise their stakes, because supply is lower. Buyers frown from buying, making choices on WHAT they buy.
When the sellers won’t sell anymore, they will lower prices again to meed the demand. That’s economy 101. Much more easier in a virtual world, where money is guaranteed with work, so there is a steady supply of money that goes in the market.
Bu then, it is suddenly better to farm for our materials than buy them from TP after selling all items we loot. If you need Powerful Blood, it is much better try and farm it. Find places where it is easier to farm them (trolls at frostgorge are not the only place) and make a guess if it is better to sell them now (and buy them when they will lower again) or put them in the bank.
This is infinitely better than the no-brainer statement “just sell them on TP, they’re not worth anything with all the bot around”. This will bring crafters on the market again, because suddenly the value of the crafted goods will raise, and there will be a substantial margin to craft things, better if you farm the materials, but even with bought materials.
Sure, some goods won’t be touched by this, but market will balance them anyway. If a seller would sell a Charged Lodestone for 3g and nobody buys them because money is scarce, there will be someone that will undercut him, or he will have to cancel and relist.
TLDR; You have to trust the market.
Guardian of Moonlight Shadow [MLS]
This is Soldier’s Armor.
No means to craft it, you can buy a rare version at karma vendor, but to get the exotic version you have to buy it in WvW with Badges of Honor.

From what i know and have experimented in BWE and the first days of the game, the Shadow Behemoth spawns on a timer AND you have to do an event (talk with the scholars near the heart and kill the veteran mob that exits from the portal that appears).
The event doesn’t spawn it automatically. It has to be the right time (that could be the reason it can spawn two times in a row).
That’s how it worked in BWE. And it seem consistent with all your comments here.
Guardian of Moonlight Shadow [MLS]
I have to bring up to attention a little thing that in these “economic” threads is never mentioned:
Arenanet is the creator of the game, and the developer and manager of the game we are playing. They have all the rights to tweak and change the game, economy, object as they see fit. They decided GW2 to be a game based on microtransaction, and estabilished means to profit on this.
RMT companies don’t bring anything to the game. They abuse economy (the absence of a monthly fee makes this easier), creating inflation, that is bad in every game economy. The gold they create is in no way balanced with the demand, so it is basically a river with no dams. It flows and flows, and all have to be raised up to be competitive.
Who do you think is getting the precursors’ price so high? Players? Don’t be all so gullible, friends, if i were a RMT company i will go by any means to raise the most desirable items in the game as high as possible to create expectations and need of gold.
Blaming Arenanet for precursor price is ridiculous.
If i were Arenanet, i will cut it short with a little flag… “Soulbound on Acquire” on Precursors and means to exchange type, whoops, no more need of gold after the few ones that are on TP are sold. RMT companies will flee like there is a plague.

Condition damage ignores toughness and even if it is easily purged, we only have ONE total purge (Contemplation of Purity) and ONE three-condition-purge. The rest of our purges is on “every 20 seconds” so if you time your condition well (apply, wit purge, apply, wait purge, etc.) you will erode our health.
Dome is on a long CD, and you can always put an AoE to hurt us and make us leave the dome (if Sanctuary) or canceling it (if shield skill).
In general, AoE Condition Damage is the best against bunker guardians (that’s why Necros easily trash us). Knockdown and Daze works wonders too (Mesmer is another good class against bunkers).

Hello and thank you for not ignoring this so close to the end of your day. You do not need to argue but mustn’t you discuss this. You are a Goldseller.
Not true.
They sell Gems for real money.
Then, you sell your Gems to other players who want to buy them for gold. The only problem is, we don’t see transaction/quotation of these transfers, so we assume that it is a rate fixed by Anet, but in reality, it is fixed by demand/request by players.
This type of transactions is auto-regulated to not bring up much inflaction in the game.
Inflaction is caused by the massive amount of gold introduced by the RMT companies, that is NOT regulated directly by players’ demand, but only by their availability (that at the moment is nearly infinite due to the bot issues).
People should really look at the game as it is… a game… putting $300 in a Legendary Weapon is not what i call “playing” anymore, it is obsession. This obsession is what makes RMT companies stay in this game.
Just think what would happen if Anet change all Legendaries and Precursors to “Soulbound on Acquire” from now on, even on the existant ones… a simple flag on these items will chase away all RMT companies: no need to buy gold, because you can buy/craft your other exotics for 10 gold total right now.
Or better, instead of the precursor you get a “Precursor Token”, account bound, that you can exchange for any of the precursors at a vendor.
You think there are other items in the gamethat will need hundred of gold to be bought?
Guardian of Moonlight Shadow [MLS]
Just to bring up the flag, in my server i haven’t received a spam mail for two weeks, and i only spotted a single bot train (which i promptly reported) in the same place where i saw at least four bot trains a couple weeks ago.
I don’t know if our continuous reporting did this (when we go as a group, all five of us report every single botter, to be sure), but there are visible improvements. So i suggest you keep reporting, and with time, there will be justice.
GMs in game would be nice, however, especially in WvW, where the damage is much more than simply ruining the economy.

depending on which dungeon and boss or bit, i use Empowering might, if not as much healing is requied, if not, i stick with WotM. might try switching out either Writs for Superior Aria as well and see hwo that works since i am quite shout heavy.
WoP is probably overkill in any case except when soloing, because it is rare that a mob/player stays still enough to make a difference. You can safely switch it with Superior Aria, if you need better shout power.

Even if i like the game as it is, i think the OP has strong points. BUT, this game is not suited to the “progression” hinted at in the first post.
The important difference from WoW and other clones, is that gear has a fixed upper limit that is insuperable. So, there is no “gear progression” apart from twinking and minmaxing certain stats.
Most hardcore gamers have reached this point at different times in every WoW expansions. The results? The same as now. People ranting that the raids were too difficult, while people were quitting the game because they “finished” it, or started playing alts to have new experiences.
The difference in GW2 is that is NOT difficult to reach this “point”. Having full exotics can be easily done by anyone, even with no skills, only farming. So, Gear cannot be the “status” of the player.
A good advice would be making achievements for doing the dungeon in particular ways, with rewards like skins or titles, something to say “i am a good player”.
For example, doing dungeons without dying, or even without being downed! Doing bosses with unusual tactics (example, doing Kudu Golem without descending from the platform).
That would be good challenges, self-imposed and really difficult so not doable with Pugs, without imposing doubtful solutions as enrage timers or no-waypoint-zerg, that will only encourage elitism and divisions on the playerbase; and situations as “link your exotic armor and weapon, please” would become the norm.

@exphryl – i used to live by renewed justice. it truly does work great in PvE. however, i took the dive and went 0/5/30/30/5 and debating trying 0/0/30/30/10 just for a test. i thought i wouldn’t be able to give it up, but it’s actually been working out great so far and i feel the choices i have in the honor line outweight the benefits from the radiance 15. i’d say give it a shot, in the mists perhaps and see how it works for you. my reasoning was that mainly for dungeons or WvW, i don’t kill fast enough to make the best use of that trait.
What are you using for your third major trait in honor?
Don’t know about Akamon but i run these traits:
First: WoE (solo)/Superior Aria (all others)
Second: Empowering Might (PvE)/Resolute Healer(WvW)/WoE(sPvP, tPvP)/WoP(solo)
Third: Two Handed Mastery(PvE and solo)/Pure of Voice(sPvP and tPvP)/Battle Presence(WvW)

Back again in Hammer world!
Brutaly, i finished my studies about Rune of Vampirism, and other leech effect.
While nice, Rune of Vampirism are not worth it. The chance is really low, and in a normal combat it is very difficult to see it proc, and then it heals about 300 hp
Sigil of Blood + Omnomberry Pies are definitively worth it in PvE. I think they’re not useful in PvP because of the fewer actual hits and crits inflicted.
To add some random thought, i am an avid PvE player, and i used this build to approach tPvP. Contrary to the belief, this build makes resisting 1v1 possible even against hard hitters/griefers (thieves, warriors), and actually win against easier targets.
Sadly, even with all the skill of the world, we are going down to a good necro or mesmer (too many conditions to purge).
Thanks for the useful addition to the guide and keep going, Brutaly!
And… sticky sticky sticky!

Guardian of Moonlight Shadow [MLS]
@Zarovich:
Ok, sorry, i confused the Omnomberry Bars with the Omnomberry Pies
The Omnomberry Ghost is identical to the Pie, but i think is stagional (and cheaper).
To answer your question, i don’t think they add up, rather they are two separate Life Steals, technically is the same (percentage adds up), but it could happen (theoreticaly) that they both proc.
I have to run my last tests to discern this.
I cannot find the sigil of Perception in the db. Could it be the sigil of Accuracy (+5% crit chance)? However, as you have to swap weapons to bring the sigil of blood into play, the staff sigil will be deactivated. So it doesn’t matter in the hammer equation.
I have the same weapon setup, but i have energy in the staff.
Guardian of Moonlight Shadow [MLS]
First time i went in a dungeon was like OP. I went in my “simil-berserker” greens, all pumped up because i “cut mobs in the open like a knife in the butter”.
Enter Ascalonian Dungeon, Story Mode.
I died so many times, i thought dungeons were something to do only at lvl 80, if at all. We zerged and zerged till we finish that terrible adventure in ONLY 2 hours and a half.
I wondered if it was the game or rather it was me at a fault.
This is the step nobody of the forum trolls and whiners seem to do. Wondering if you’re playing the game right, instead of immediately jump to the conclusion that “the dev messed up”.
I went into research, and i spent 15 silver (i was 45 at the time and didn’t have much money) in buying some decent greens with toughness. I even went to the Karma vendors to spent my ill-earned karma in jewels that had a bit of toughness or vitality to help me.
Being leader of a casual guild in which i was the only one who went into dungeons at the time, i brought several groups in AC story. Surprise, i was not dying so much, while my buddies dropped like flies. I gave them the same counsel i had, and now the same buddies do Arah Exp alone and without me.
So, to recap this long story, i suggest you take a moment to criticize yourself and your way of playing before dumping your failure to others. It will work wonders.

Guardian of Moonlight Shadow [MLS]
sorry for posting, unable to edit right now..
have some more questions regarding lifesteal..hope i didn’t miss anything, but it seems to run the lifesteal you would want 4/runes of vampirism? secondly, regarding the the 4th set bonus. does this mean a 100% trigger of lifesteal after using healing skill (i assume this only means your “#6” skill).
then my question is, what would be most leveraging for the remaining two runes on your gear? since healing doesn’t seem to add much in a lifesteal build we can perhaps rule that out. if using in tandem with blood sigil, maybe focus on runes that raise your crit chance %?
After some testing, i found that Runes of Vampirism may not be effective at all and then only the 2 set bonus seems viable.
They only give 5% of lifesteal (2/set) and a guaranteed lifesteal after the healing(4/set): granted, it could be useful, but i am using 4 runes for a single additional “heal” (of indefinite amount) every healing CD? No, no, i would rather stack precision on runes.
If you want the 2-pieces set, then i would stack precision with Orbs or Rune of Ranger/Eagle/Lyssa (3xset+1xother set) in the other runes.
Guardian of Moonlight Shadow [MLS]
These are analysis i leeched from another forum, till i can come back home from work and run some test myself:
Sigil of Blood: 30% chance to steal life on crit (2s ICD)
•Whether applied on mainhand or offhand, it can proc on any attack from either weapon.
•They stack multiplicatively with % chance only, cooldown applies to both and no double procs.
•ICD is actually 5s, tested for nearly 15 minutes and couldn’t get 2 procs in less than 5 seconds.
•For me this hit for 452 damage, regardless of power or weapon damage. Healing power does affect it, but by pitiful amounts.
Guardian of Moonlight Shadow [MLS]
regarding lifeleech i played a lot of wvw with it two nights in a row now and i will post a guide, mainly a decompressed version of this thread to morrow, and in that one you will get a review.
I can tell you as mush as sigil of blood and Omnomberry seems to stack additively which means you have a 96% chance to steal life on crit and with only base healing power you get 341 in health on each crit. At least i steal the same amount EVERY CRIT.
Its so silly that it just have to be bugged tbh.
Are you sure it stacks ADDITIVELY, and is not two separate chances of proc? While the end result is more or less the same, stacking % is less desirable, because of the internal CD. Two separate % would be much more useful.
I am guessing that they’re two separate proc, because of the internal CD of the sigil. And i cannot be sure, but it could be that the sigil returns a different base amount (or a % of the inflicted hit).
And, did you have 30 Honor at that time (300 Healing Power), or you purposedly brought it down to 0 for the test?
If you had only 30 Honor and no healing power on armor, then lifesteal is treated as Rejuvenation, i.e. healing power is factored by 0.06. With 300 Healing power, that’s consistent with the wiki that says Blackberry Pie steals for 325 hp (+ 0.06 * healing power).
If that’s the case for the sigil, too (i guess so), then Healing power is useless in a Lifesteal Build.
I will test with sigil only to see if the base return is identical to the food.
Don’t become addicted to the ghost food, we don’t know if it would be available after halloween :P
Guardian of Moonlight Shadow [MLS]
I may be making some other changes too like the sigils. Currently I’m using the Sigil of Accuracy to get to 49% but I’m thinking of using Sigil of Perception on the Staff and change the Hammer Sigil to Sigil of Blood since I’m using the Omnomberry Pie already. Sigil of Perception will get me to 55% Crit Chance instead. What are your thoughts on my new Runes/stats/Sigils/etc?
Just to point out, Omnomberry Pie is for Magic Find, the lifesteal food is Omnomberry Ghost.

Omnomberry Ghost: 66% chance to steal life and 70 precision. Testing it now.
Edit: It turns you into a ghost for the duration. Pretty neat.
I guess this is a Halloween-only recipe.
It uses Candies, and i don’t know if we will have access to them in the future.
Pretty neat to experiment on, though.

@Brutal
I just purchased a new character slot and have decided to roll a guardian, so I’m fairly new to the style of gameplay. First thing I did was go to the mists and mess around with weapons and builds. Tried everything and really liked the hammer and developed a unique build for consecrations and symbols.

The idea revolves around reviving teammates. Lots of protection to help get them up safely and prevent stomps. Then just the great synergy with sanctuary, ring of warding, and line of warding used before tome of courage helps me get out those max heals. Also, decent crit/crit dmg so I can still dish out decent damage for being heavy support.
I have noticed that toughness > vit but I can’t get enough toughness without sacrificing prec. And I really, really like air runes. 2-3k proc dmg every 10 sec helps out loads in 1v1 and 1v2.
Anyone have any suggestions or tips to help me out? =]
If your focus is reviving teammates, you really should invest in Resolute Healer (Honor) to avoid stomping.

For me is Rampager.
I am theorycrafting a Lifesteal build, and i need alot of Critical chance for it to be effective.
With the additional crit chance of Rampager (that gives me more lifestealing) i count to more than make for the loss of survivability due to lack of toughness.

Why is it that i fight against such good players on elementists, necros.engies, rangers even wich can keep me snared and CCed almost the whole fight and they all can kill me very well? guardians do not have that op condition removal and heres a tip: get all the stunn, daze, fear, blind or better even imobilize and cycle that on a guardian. learn to switch weapons when fitghing because my warrior and ranger have been killing a lot of guardians just by cycling my weapons and abilities every 9 seconds. plus guardians have no escape button while on the warrior or ranger i can escape much easier if i do get in trouble.
!
How in the world can Rangers kill you very well? You have Wall of Reflection, Stand Your Ground, and all the Condition removal of the world, and you can’t stand up to a little bleeding and poison? I put Wall of reflection down on them, then CC them (GS or Hammer) and they’re in great danger of dying from their autoattacks and my hammer incoming (if i can close on them, Ring of Warding and bye bye ranger).
I hope you have some toughness on your armor, and you’re not one of the “oh i am so unstoppable because i have Save Yourselves” guardians that go in sPvP in full Berserker…
Engineer, do you see many in sPvP? I don’t. I always see thieves, necro and mesmers.
Thieves, i don’t care. They pew pew on my knight armor (you have toughness, use it), but if they try and combo poison+bleeding all you need is a good Smite Condition (or Consecration of Purity) and you’ll see them reeling before you are hurt that much. They hardly kill me.
Necro, they kill me PERIOD. Worse mismatch ever. Condition damage bypass armor, and they purge my boons. They can cripple AoE, and it has to be a really bad necro if he doesn’t kill a Guardian. No Wall of Reflection too (they AoE).
Mesmer, they’re a pain, but most of the time is a standoff. I cannot damage them properly, but then again, they won’t too. Worst thing they could do is confusion, but i can get rid of it rather easily every 10 seconds (Purity), so most of the time we hit each other (well, i hit their clones and images) but we don’t die.
These are skilled vs skilled player. Well equipped and geared, or well builded (in sPvP) with good synergies and balanced spec.
Try and build a bunker or balanced build (instead of a glass cannon build) and try and stay at the points and cap them and keep them on 1v1. You will see why the Guardian is top tier in sPvP.

I think that the improvement in Condition Damage actually brings all to par.
Then, all that’s left is the opportunity to crit. If you like a more linear, steady damage with less spikes, you get Berserker Armor+Trinkets and Sigil of Force (+ 5%damage). If you like spikes, and burst damage, you get Rampager Armor + Trinkets and a good sigil to proc on crit, or simply the sigil of Accuracy (+ 5% crit %).
The first choice will always produce the best results, because the upped damage is on condition damage too, and so it will add over time to all hits (not only crits).
I would rather prefer the second choice though, just because there are few fights (champion, bosses) that let you hit steadily long enough to bring the better average in play.

@Fabsm
Seems you are testing on NPCs? I got a better suggestion. Go to heart of the mists and to the big group with training dummies, run up the stairs, activate VoR and then jump and attack a mob.. Then you have lost some Heath and Will stay in combat without dieing and you can take it slow and Watch the numbers.. And once you get a procc, open traits and add 10 points in the tree with healing power, and Watch for next procc.. Only thing you cant check is the food, but Runes + sigils can be tested.. If i have Time i Will check it aswell this evening
That’s a good advice, but i really wanted to try it in a full PvE/WvW environment (Jewels and Food too). I have the items and i play that build so i can try non-stop.
Will check the runes and sigil within sPvP, but i am not sure if that environment is really a carbon-copy of the PvE one. Look at the SY thing, maybe something else, much more obscure, is different.
