Every team uses zegrs on every sever and is pretty apparent every Friday night. If a server can’t get those numbers out during the week that is an internal problem, hope GoM will be a better fit, but pretty sure the result will be the same.

Fergs were on EB with the out manned buff (they tried to hit us from northern side of sm, but got massacred after we pbombed SF catapults…)

If you look at the mini map on SS that is how many of us were defending SM with excellent siege placements and scouts notifying us of SF movements, defending SM for i think 2 hours? I dunno, i lost track of time so that could be correct time or exaggerated lol

I disagree that we have T5-6 numbers and talk to people that are on those servers that have ques in multiple maps in prime time…I have only seen a que on one map during this time and was a couple of weeks ago. Have plenty of screen shots that show people come out from all servers every friday night and when they feel like it.

I really hope there isn’t fight clubs going on in this tier for all the complaining going on. But we did have a bunch of peeps just go to ET…hope they got a bunch of new recruits. Please don’t complain about such issues when we are in such a lead. Hope when we move out ET rises to the occasion and meets us outside of T8.

Well just give up for a few weeks and you can join T8 when we move up. I f you don’t like T7 we will take your place.

wish the people that left stuck with their beliefs and went to NSP… when I have transferred servers in past made sure was not the winning one. That is what got me to T8 in the first place..but love all the people on my server.

Glad to be on T8 and will stay with them to the end…just funny for all the SF bashing that went on…other people that did at least they jumped right to top of bandwagon and made sure they went right to the top….hard work is meant for only the select few. NSP wish I could just leave everyone I knew behind for a match with these new coattail riders. just to prove a point but love my server to much….just glad to see they really don’t care about any kind of mismatch.

Good job to all ET that have stuck with it the whole time and raised your skill level….you guys have killed me many times in your rightful well deserved battles…even though you have been outnumbered. I never questioned your skill and happy to see so many great battles with you guys.

Man ET was doing good while some people took a back seat…don’t let the negativity get to you just follow commanders that help your servers out and avoid the Troll commanders. Please don’t ride the coattails of the new commanders where you have failed…ET was doing great in the loss of your absence.

Man why do people have to equate everything to T8 and have the whole poor me attitude. Doesn’t look good when every topic has to be compared to T8 and the system Anet has in place.

Here Anet is trying to make is so medium sized groups can run around and take objectives with out being noticed….seems like they are trying to brake up zergs a little bit. Just hope they increase party size next.

Why would you give up? ET has been face rolled by every single opponent for the past what, about 4.5 months? We haven’t really changed tactics, some of the commanders leveled alts in WvW, bu we have been there.

Here is how you raise your servers morale:
1. Run exp trains. Nothing big go take sentries/camps/dolys. Hit hard hit fast move on.
2. Keep on the move. Doesn’t matter where, if people are moving they think something is getting done.
3. Hit the little areas. Vet worm, vet warg, centaur camp, quaggans, all very easy and fast; lots of exp and you can get some fights at those areas too.
4. Be bold, talk, and let people know what to do. YOU MUST BE VOCAL.
5. Learn names, say hello when you see people come on, make em feel welcome and that they are needed, cause everyone is needed.

Finally, don’t be afraid to switch it up, try some crazy kitten maneuvers, go nuts from time to time, set up siege an hour in advance for what you know will be an incoming zerg eventually, etc.

Most important, make it fun and you can even while outnumbered.

Very good advise and should be practiced by all….I see a lot of people from every single server in the game that are against Zergs, but when it comes down to it if you run the smaller objectives you usually see the same faces doing it with you while most people follow the Zergs.

Man looking at the score match up on the MOS site and if we pull these numbers next week we might be able to move up.

Great job in ET for all the new tactics and even the small group raids running across the map and capturing so many points. You guys seem like you have been working together a lot more in the last few days.

I talk so much I figure at some point everyone is going to tell me to STFU in map chat. I’m always calling out stuff. “White swords at Gods”. “Orange swords at Cliff”. “2 FC just ran towards Arah”. “Zerg of 25 heading towards you Commander!”. “60 SF heading your way guys, GET IN TEH GARRISON!!!11!11on”.

I’m a hardcore gamer but my skill with GW2 is really only average (at best) so I try to find other ways to stay useful. Calling out stuff when I see it and doing some of the more “mundane” things like renewing siege, taking out sentry’s and veterans, yakstomping, teaming up with another 1 or 2 to grab an undefended camp, etc. One on one? I’ll probably go down every time; I just had to find my niche. (I’m improving though!)

First off if you are calling stuff out in map like that you are doing you job and setting a good example….but just try to stay away from using capitols when they aren’t needed.

Just wondering what level you are because if you are under 80 and fighting a geared 80 (all exotics) then you are at huge disadvantage. Also you have to realize what class you play and how matches up with other classes based on your build. A good thing is to check out builds and their WvW roles. Here is a site I check out to get opinions on get an idea where I want my builds to be directed to http://en.gw2codex.com. Spvp can also be a good way to practice for WvW.

If you get a full group of five you wont pull up the orange swords on maps and is very effective to take smaller objectives before the enemy realizes. Just make sure if there is only a couple of you taking camps (especially on BL’s) to bounce around to throw any back-capping force off. Take group up left side take 2 camps- then way point back take south camp and one on the right side and then check map to see where the enemy is going, just bounce around to throw them off.

6) As a final add-on: TROLL POLICY. Simply put, don’t feed the trolls. There are gonna be people who bash commanders, players, guilds, servers, thread creators for the simple purpose of seeking to incite strife, frustration and anger for their own personal entertainment. At times they may even go so far as to construct huge comprehensive multi-paragraph posts backing a mentality or way of thinking that they may not even subscribe to personally, simply to incite a hasty negative/inflammatory response from their target/victim. Excessive socratic questioning and ad hominem use can sometimes hint to such people’s true intentions. Best thing you can do is, ignore them or taking it even further, be humble. When someone is constantly spamming “Wow, you’re terrible.” on map chat or whatever, a response like “You’re right, I definitely have a lot of room for improvement” can often times diffuse things before they spark. And keep in mind, 90% of trolls be they forum trolls, in-game server community trolls, or what have you lack the long-term dedication to haunt a community for more than a couple of days consecutively when nobody takes their bait. A few back to back days of nobody getting upset from their comments will often cause trolls to opt out and self-destruct.

Just way too many out there on all sides…Our server has it’s spats and just want to thank them all for keeping the trash talking of commanders to a minimum.

Guides, will not teach you to be better.

Being on the battlefield gaining the experience of everything teaches you everything and betters you as a player.

Instead of reading guides, teach yourself out in the open, learn from past experiences and most of all, come closer together as a server.

A guide will never accomplish such things.

The guides are just to teach the people the basics of WvW and gives them a breakdown of the system and supply routes.

We have a good port system in place on most nights to get people in and out of the jp really fast and to get them back on the field.

The second thread in red at the top of the wvw list is a real good guide to help people that may have questions, and they also have some good links inside the thread also.

Another good thing is when you see that we have mesmers in jp doing ports, is to bring all your toons there. One person that has five toons can get 10 siege for our side every day and multiply that by the hundreds we get up there every day is just a huge boost for our server.

Another thing is use of supply and strategic upgrades…to many times players will order upgrades when supply camps can’t be held from the enemies and just causes towers and Keeps to be much harder to defend. Defending SM and seeing people just repair a wall until you are left with a few hundred supply (while being trebbed) is the most frustrating thing for me. The supply needs to be saved for inner defense while the treb is still up and once the danger is removed then work on outer wall….this is only if there is no plan to take treb out or we are outnumbered and cant counter.

There are some options for VC in game but that info shouldn’t be posted in the forums. There are a lot of people that will call out troop movements and we are always looking for people to participate more in this practice. Other communication tips are to jump to other maps to call for help, Call way point timers for Keeps under siege, and if there are white swords at location head there and inform teammates or ask if anyone has eyes there so we can decide if it is a credible threat.

We do have specific tactics but it is hard to notice cause they are usually smaller groups that run around and capture and defend supply camps or attack to throw enemy off. Unfortunately these players don’t receive as much in the way of rewards as groups that take keeps and towers, so you see less than you should.

What are you talking about, we have the same problem with people from SF and ET camping ever JP and ganking our players. Don’t make it seem like our server is the only one that does it.

I am not, I’m telling my personal experience with fergs who I bowed to several times and spoke with who just laughed and continued. I had no issues with SF while in JP they all bowed right back. I’m speaking personally and notice how I said SOME. My whole time in the puzzle all I saw was fergs ganging up on everyone there. So for this personal experience the only ones were fergs. I posted here because I know before we wanted to know ppl camping JP so our server could deal with it, so I did so to post about this guy from SIKE. I was so kitten far in the JP So I was pretty upset since I’m not very good at them lol and no one around to revive me. I know every server has ppl like this so please don’t think I am saying Fergs are the only ones. I have quite a few friends in FC and I’m not that type of person. Just speaking on my personal experience today. I’m not use to running into issues like this, personally had nothing but positive and respectful experiences in the JP, any other time. So this was a new experience for me, and I was just dissapointed. I apologize if it seemed that way, I suppose I should have elaborated in my first post more. So SORRYYYY <3

There was a post from when we first came to this server so not sure why you feel as we should wave turn our backs and then get knocked off the cliff from behind. You guys taught us not be friendly in there with this type of behavior.

And be truthful guys your servers have had a lot of infighting and guilds not working together in WvW…and blaming us for having numbers is getting a little old and silly. The truth of the matter is you have been bleeding members long before we came into the picture.

IT’S STORY TIME! (Should be interesting for all of you. — It’s about SF coordination)

My buddy and I decided we wanted to ninja Hills in FC borderlands from ET. I threw two catas down at west outer wall, and we both ran supply to get them up. It was time-consuming, but we really wanted to ninja this place because it was upgraded and seiged well, thus serving to be a difficult place to cap with a zerg.

We then began hitting outer wall, which was reinforced. It went down after several minutes, and then we started hitting the inner wall as well. Now, all this time, we had been updating /t chat with wall percentages and such, and we had warned them that we would need a bunch of them to help us kill lord room. So we get the inner wall down and tell everybody that we need reinforcements to help us cap the lord room.

One person showed up.

It was many, many minutes before ET showed up and destroyed our catas, killing us and repairing the walls in the process. It was baffling, considering all of that time I had been essentially spamming /t chat with “Please come help us at west Hills outer wall, we have inner wall down and just need to cap the lord room”

So yes, we failed. I brushed it off and thought that perhaps nobody showed up because there wasn’t many on this map. But then, just a few minutes after, I went to the 6 o’clock camp and saw our zerg capping it. I thought, where were all of these guys when I needed them?!

That is the people of Sorrow’s Furnace for you. You give them a golden platter full of experience, karma, and a shiny new keep that could really help us out, and nobody cares. It was so uncoordinated that it looked like bots, seeing red or blue on the map and savagely rushing toward it without any type of strategy.

Even as an SF I could realize that the real winners of this match are ET and FC. This is not treachery, this is simply a call to action. We seriously need to improve our coordination.

I love when we are trying take points and calls constantly go out for people to run supply and there is like 3-4 people running (and one of them is a good commander) and 20 people auto-attacking a gate-and sometimes a wall.

We just fight the matches Anet tells us to fight and be happy we can play such a great game…have been on the losing side of many of fight and just had fun dying out there honing my tactics. I can lead small group precision strikes behind enemy lines and take take supply camps and bounce around to confuse the enemy. Learned it from from when I was fighting loosing match week after week.
I just have fun playing and that’s all.

Think people are trying to say is what will happen when at tier 7 team move down to tier 8. Most likely the same thing they are competitive in tier 7 and not sure the outcome will be any different.

After reading through the entirety of this thread I’ve come to the conclusion that most who offer some semblance of a solution have taking the position of punishing the successful servers which reminds me of the mentality of the OWS (bowel)movement.

I just wonder how any of these servers could feel an ounce of pride knowing they couldnt use the metrics everyone else has used that have been on top whether it was t1 -t8.

Take Kainege for instance they were bottom of the wv3 ranking just 2 months ago now they are on the threshold of moving in to t1 so you guys in t8 do some self reflection and you’ll discover its your crying and quitting mentality that’s your problem not your competition.

So lets change the metrics to me just reeks of poor sportsmanship.

Finally, some one that understands the game is trying to explain it to everyone else….just be careful if they disagree with you Big brother may be called in to erase your argument. No worries! It’s totally difficult to interpret tone in a text-only communication environment and it’s bound to happen from time to time.

And I’m totally with ya on the chest thumping. I’m totally against chest thumping when it’s unwarranted and was quite vocal on these boards against such activity a couple months back when we railroaded HoD and ET.

100% agreed. A server shouldn’t have to completely dominate their opposition for months (emphasis on the plural) before they dig their score out of the ditch and move to a better suited tier. Mismatched fights like these are no fun for all parties involved (those who dominate and those who are being dominated). And it’s disheartening to hear that servers who are already struggling with WvW population are loosing even more people due to such mismatches (which even further exacerbates the population discrepancies).

Anet needs to fix this so SF stops complaining about it.

Getting focused on by SF is taking its toll, and currently having SF (at least as it was 4 minutes ago, when I logged) outnumbering us by 1.5-2x in our own borderlands is pretty miserable, especially doubled with every keep having insufficient upgrades due to the night time push, along with having ET surpass our points due to this focus. (No offense ET.)

Morale dropping rapidly, ArenaNet continues to ignore our pleading, and we just can’t compete with our 7 gram rock popping tiger-blooded opponents. Woe is me, but at least I have enough quaggan tonics to overcome this depressing phase of WvW history.

I think Anet realized that resetting the servers and having teams jump around so much was just a mistake…and to have us (SF) jump to T1 from T8 was kind of silly. Not sure how it would make any sense at all to have such a jump just based on how we won our match for a single week.

Terrible idea. The coverage disparity between tiers is massive. Just because some server wins their matchup doesn’t mean they suddenly have 1000 more WvW players and are ready to move up a tier.

Funny people say we (SF) should be in tier 5 because we have won for a few weeks in a row.

This morning was a grand moment for me. When I logged in, I saw a commander from RAD and several of our number had fully taken (or held) our borderlands.

And I went to the ET Borderlands, I quickly ran to the orange crossed swords with my level 13 Warrior, (even if last night I learned quite painfully that a level 12 warrior on Friday Reset night was not the best choice to use to defend the lands with)

But one the less, far be it from me to let little lessons like repair bills stand in my way, and what I saw, captivated me, I stood there transfixed for the longest time, I mean seriously I must have just stood there for a full half hour watching the most amazing thing unfold before me.

They were laughing and cracking jokes across Map chat as our troops under this one commander laid waste to any SF that tried to move upon us, just killing them swiftly and deadly as they kept the land safe and reinforced.

I was elated and content at the moment to just watch this unfold before me.

I was going to make an effort to contribute, but they seemed to have matters well in hand, so I moved off back to trying to level in PvE to get ready for next week.

Well I just wanted to say “Thank you” to that commander. I hope you know who are, and that your efforts and the efforts of those with you, are appreciated and admired.

I like some of your ideas, but as far as number 13 goes I am going to have to say no thank you. Most guilds don’t have any interest in balancing battlegrounds or fighting greater numbers. You can find a multitude of examples of transfers to follow the path of least resistance, but very few where people transfer to fight an uphill battle.

I’d still really like to hear how you come to this conclusion, as a lot of my guild isn’t even playing WvW right now and instead are leveling alts or running dungeons because this match-up is stale and boring.
So I’d love to know how you draw the conclusion that we like the way this match-up sits, as I suspect this is just an example of the passive aggressive BS I’ve mentioned.

Well, if you don’t like the matchup, why don’t you switch? I mean it’s not like it’s a lot of gold or anything? The evidence points to a certain conclusion. Also, you’re saying “your guild” I totally get that maybe you’re not out there handing the other servers their kittens day in and day out… but someone is.

If you don’t like the matchup, change it. That was my point, All passive aggressive kitten aside. But I doubt it will happen, that’s not P/A, it’s a logical conclusion using basic human nature as a construct.

I just hate seeing people get the crap kicked out of them all day, then the guys doing it take some high road stance like, “it’s not my fault! Blame someone else!”. I wish they could fix it on all tiers, but they can’t. So it’s up to the players to do it. So do it.

This was spawned by an ongoing and pointless kitten fight with some other people on this topic (who as irony would have it, hail from SF) who felt the need to attack me and berate me for saying “The only reason SF is in T8 is because the math is bad”

In the end, I am man enough to admit I am wrong, I mean really, if they want to believe that this is where they belong, if they support that the math was correct to put them and keep them here, and defend the math says they really have no business moving up, to the point of hostility, then, maybe they must know something I don’t.

Maybe they really are as bad as some of the rumors that I have been dismissing, I dunno, I do know, I was attacked and accosted for believing they were “better” a mistake I will not be making in the future.

Believe it or not I do have some friends on ET and when they capture ETO would like to be able to get a few of them through the JP. Hope my fellow SF players will help me if they are in the puzzle.

Don’t recall anyone saying that there wasn’t a problem with match ups just that it is being directed to SF and we have ZERO control over this. I don’t remember any one talking about bad math when we got beaten a couple of weeks ago.

Anet is working on a solution but realized that the reset wouldn’t have the right effect on fixing the problem the scratched it.

Well we would try to move up but anyone that want’s to pay to go to the other T8 servers are more that welcome.

We got beaten in our first match in T8 and the when we win a match we get compared to DR and Kaining, even though many time they give us a run for our money. When their people come out to fight.

I would like anyone that has experienced a WvW battle in which you couldn’t even hold a single tower add their input on what it is like to really get beat. Not sure why we are called bullies for winning, for something that is out of our control. I have been in server battles where we couldn’t even hold a few supply camp and never came to forums to start drama….need to take that to Anet cause I didn’t make this game!!!
