My enthusiasm for this game has been slowly waning. I went from an avid fan and day one pre-purchaser to a complete skeptic, disillusioned about the path ANet’s chosen.

Ugh, same here. I also played GW1 for years and years, but GW2 is quickly becoming a grindy, repetitive, just non-fun game. It’s sad, really.

From ignoring major class issues time and again, being force fed (usually broken) new content, in which most of it is just ‘meh’ anyways…not sure how much I will be logging in anymore.

Hey at least the put in some new hair colors that can only be obtained by purchasing a make-over kit.

This has got to be one of the worst let downs I’ve ever had playing video games….was really excited a few days ago and now can’t even stomach playing the game today.

By “plenty to do for smaller guilds” he means the normal content in the game that you don’t need a guild to do. Good job screwing the smaller guilds on GUILD content.

Yup, there is plenty for smaller guilds to do… like sit around and WAIT for 40 laurels before they can get 1 piece of ascended gear… OR you can jump ship and get 1 piece of gear per week. IF you play any alts (or just other builds) you have no choice really. Brilliant.

The laurels is really another kick in the groins for a lot of people. For me for instance, before I decided to quit – I wanted the endless Tonic + Cat pet + Acended amulets for each of my 8 80s ….. thats like nearly 2 years worth of laurels…I mean, seriously?

Yeah I stopped doing the dailies when they introduced the laurels just for the fact it was another grind-fest. Now with these guild missions just seems like a bad move on Anet’s part. We will see what happens though.

They are adding token after token, but hey…the game is not about grind. It may feel like grind when playing and sound like grind when you read about it, but it sure is no grind if they say so </sarcasm>

As they stated last March they are against grinding cause nobody like it and they didn’t want the boring grind to get to the fun stuff. (1:25 in video)

10 member guild do fractals together 3-4 times. They raise 100g fund out of this.
They buy 50k influence. Unlock guild missions.

By tomorrow you could be already able to do missions even on a 10 man guild, so I guess you got your answer OP.

What guild missions are you talking about? It takes 3 days to research the guild bounties and that is if you already have Art of War unlocked…which takes a week itself

I’m pretty sure people will just leave and not rep the smaller guilds so they can reap the benefits of the new content. After seeing all the influence and time it’s going to take to complete these…just shut my game off. When I was in there could see all the guild recruitment spams going out for the guilds that have access to new content and tons of influence.

They are removing skale venom and they nerfed food buff that proc of critical hits

Looks like they nerfed omnom pies and ghosts-Food items that give special bonuses upon a critical hit now have an internal cooldown before they can produce the special bonus again.

I think that the new guild missions is a thumb in the eye from Anet for everyone that wants WvW and PvE separate. Letting people know a few days before that they will need Art of War 5 to start the first mission…seems like an intentional jab to me. I love WvW and can’t wait to see the forums ablaze when the content does come out.

I feel like this is going to be really bad for smaller guilds and the game in general.

Another thing that bugs me is you can’t even see when the last time people in your guild have logged in….seems kinda strange. Almost like they don’t want people to see all the players that aren’t playing. It’s not like other games where people could just jump to another server and start there without anyone noticing.

Lol…wish people remember when they add me to their friends list, and when they do I can see them too. It is also hard for people to find me when they spend 90% of their time in PvE. Makes me laugh inside especially when there is talk about the numbers we field….Lion’s Arch is a pretty safe place.

Lol..since I know how much ET loves me I am going to take a vacation there and visit all my fans. So glad I have a commander badge too so i can get most of my fans to follow me….SEE YOU TOMORROW GUYS!!!

Have so many gems and just can’t wait to spend some time with all my good friends from ET. It will be so much fun for all of our amazing group of friends to hang out together, at least for the next week.

Not sure why anyone would think that ET was a real threat before your recent transfers or Fergs departures….fact of the matter is that was ET’s first time even placing second place since the beginning of October. But if people want to believe that we conspired with FC against ET just makes me chuckle inside.

I just love how when ET finally took the lead…the fangs came out towards FC. Now that they have more people than FC it seems like they turned on them with some ferocity.

I’ve refrained from saying anything to you as of yet, since I’m not a fan of drama – real or virtual – but, seriously. It’s a known fact that you disagree with the concept stated above. That is fine, I am a firm believer in free choice. But do you have to be nasty about it?

(I would think that even an SF person would be somewhat tired of the ratings vacuum
between T8 and T7, considering that your folk could easily have moved up a tier, if
our three servers were in anywhere but T8.)

With that said, the only – and indeed, honest – reason these threads continue to propagate is simple: besides thread moderation and movement, there has been no
Dev acknowledgement of a problem existing. That’s all people really want. Even a
“Yes, we’re aware of it.” would go a long way towards mollifying wounded pride on
all sides.

Yes Anet has said that. So people will continue to bring it up to them, until they listen to their customer base and do something about the issue…that’s how it works lol.

IMO Anet is not the best company out there in responding to clear feedback on issues. ..they certainly take their servers down a lot of these minor “upgrades” but never address any real issues. I will continue to speak up and continue to, until they address the issues or a new game comes out (ESO maybe) that has a WvW component that is done better….right now its one of the better things out there…so they can get away with this shoddiness…as soon as a competitor shows up they better get their kitten straight… lol

ESO has sign-up for beta now, almost signed up the other day. Yeah I played SWTOR and believed everything they told me as I stayed on a dead server for months….then BAM, stuck us on Fat Man with all the geared people that were able to pvp everyday, while we had to scrape a match or two if we were lucky. After that have little faith in what people say, plus there was a post somewhere where they gave reasons why they don’t release the numbers. (if I find it will post it)

I am skeptical of the new updates they are going to have…will probably just be another grind fest. They tried to make it sound like they were doing major changes a couple of months ago.

Fair, and illustrates a certain problem with text communication. The phrasing, tbh, is what made me think “WTF?” I’m adult enough to admit that as my screw-up. Your point on # of postings also – in a calmer light – does make fair sense. Worst part is, we can’t even guarantee that if guesting/paid transfers had have been in game on Day 1, this situation may not have still existed.

I know I have been in plenty of bad match-ups…and wished they did do something a long time ago. With that being said they did put in paid transfers and was going to reset the servers, so I am hoping they do do something soon. I just feel like in so many threads people think we don’t agree with them.

sure does seem like it, doesn’t it? geeze i hope so. we need people at night. XD awesomesauce!!! i guess i’m just not running into ’em in the middle of the day. as i said earlier, mid-day runs still feel a bit… light. at least to me.

Lol…you guys are doing pretty well right now. There have been much better fights in the last week. I find it so much fun to defend keeps when there are walls down and enemies pouring in (even if we lose them in the end). Keep up the good work guys…and who know what may come when the new content comes out and our PvE’r run to that.

Yeah I thought they were going to do a lot but we will have to wait and see when the march update comes out. Hope they give us some cool updates since most of the cool stuff is geared towards PvE.

Another Monday with waaaaaay too little sleep. Good (and intense) times last night. I think at one point we had 6 Commanders on our BL organizing the recapping of all our stuff after we nearly lost it all. Once SF was at the Garrison gate, the call went out and a bunch of us came back from other maps, sprang into action, and began methodically taking everything back. My highlight of the evening was Omnix(?) and me fending off an entire SF zerg from the hallway of the Lord’s Room at Askalonian Hills. After we finished, I said, “Did WE just do that?!?!…HELL YEAH!” Sadly, we could not hold the second charge several minutes later but it was still awesome!

For a while I wondered why SF seemed to be leaving Ferg completely alone while they rampaged through ET, but I think we eventually caused enough devastation that we broke their spirit and they eventually left to look for an easier fight. (Hopefully they didn’t find it there either. )

Good fights last night everyone!

Lol…first time ET has been in second place in over two months and now FC is the easier fight. I’m pretty sure that ET has received a bunch of new transfers in last week to account for this shift. Pretty evident since there is now a night crew there.

They dropped a thread merge on it, so its all irrelevant. Anyways, these topics are getting old now, and I’d personally rather see a thread complaining about how ridiculously conservative the moderators can get here, its starting to feel like censorship the sheer amount of posts that get deleted, threads moved, infractions handed out immediately if you point the finger at Anet over just about anything.

We might as well sing about flowers and fields and world peace and absolutist pro-humanism in these forums these days.

Glad we are having some better fights in the last week. MOS has us moving down 68pts and when guild missions come out we may see the flight of the PvE’rs to new content.

Pretty sure you didn’t delete your funny post Detharos, just had three messages saying my post were deleted because original was deleted. Sad what others resort to when the don’t agree with you. I liked it and the links I thought they were pretty funny.

The whole thing between ET and FC is that ET finally grabbed second and are trying to keep it that way, it such a close race right now.

I should have said it wouldn’t make sense at all to close and merge highly populated servers because of the WvW population. SF is a huge PvE server and usually has a very high population on most of the time even if WvW numbers aren’t that high.

Lol…I paid for both a 25 vent channel and a 50 slot mumble channel for the year and only get a few people every night in chat. First game where I had this problem, also our server has a 1025 slot mumble for WvW and server wide use and nobody joins in.

I thought the best way to get rewards was to go over 100%….Have a set that gives me like 150% with food but never wear it. I find it not even worth my time to switch my traits and gear to the MF set. I’m sure other people will have different opinion but I use shout warrior for dungeons and most PvE events and very dependent on gear and traits.

There is no way they would be able to merge some of the lower tier servers because of their PvE numbers. SF is one of those servers that has a ton more PvE players than WvW. I think GoM is another server like this…which is good when you are looking for people to run dungeons and Fractals.

Not to be a party pooper but thats actually historically accurate. They’re cow corpses and they carry all kinds of nastiness. In historical sieges they used to catapult human corpses to spread disease.

Dont get me wrong. I am not crying or want to get it change. Its ok how they they made it. I only wanted to give a small feedback why me (and mabye others?!) dont like it much to go into dungeons.

I just miss those 2 classic roles of an RPG in this game, and mabye Arena.net will put them into GW3.

This post is meant to be a small feedback about how I fell or why I dont go into dungeons that much.

Ther are sure ways, combinations to do the dungeons in GW2 “easy”, but those are not fun for “me”.

I love my shout warrior and feel like he fills both roles to some extent. Have 4 shouts that heal for over 2k a piece and cure conditions with each one. I made him a while ago and haven’t changed anything about him since, I hated dungeons until I went to shout warrior bunker build.

Wish I saw this before so I could have started AoW-5 a little sooner…takes 1 week to finish and 50,000 influence to speed up.

Love when I see people repair outer walls with three trebs hitting the keep and burn all the supply down.

Either way, asking a whole server to give up something they enjoy to quicken the swap is kind of ridiculous, definitely is selfish, and wouldn’t exactly be feasible. No matter how coordinated a server is, it isn’t like any guilds/alliances are strong enough to speak for everyone.

yer funny. ya know that? i wasn’t looking for pity or sympathy. i was stating a fact. SF has more people than ET or FC. and they have a stronger WvW night time population. >shrug< we play with the hand we are dealt. if the next server to fall to tier 8 has a less populous nightcap crew, the matches would most likely be much more even. would we pwn it? probably not. would it be a ROFLSTOMP? probably not.
and ET and FC not fighting each other? don’t make me laugh. that little “alliance” as filthyrat was so fond of calling it (which it was actually just a non-agressive agreement that we didn’t even all agree to) crumbled in less than a week. trust me, there was loads of fighting between FC and ET last week

Like with every other issue in T8 the Treaty was put in the public forums and I did comment on it, but everyone interested can see the thread. Some even called for others to kill their own server mates for not agreeing to it, with whom I stuck up for.

Pretty sure people are posting here is cause there are so many threads about T8 and it is getting a little out of hand. These are public forums and for anyone out there to post in, if it was a private website for a specific server then I could see that point. Just seems like there is a tread that pops up every other day about the problems with T8.
