The patch notes are missing, but glory and rank points are awarded at the end of the match now. This means no more rejoining to reset your glory cap. This still is not all the changes we’ll make. More to come later.
Any rollback planned for the abusers? I don’t care about banning them, (in the end it was a design mistake) but taking back the glory farmed using this method, should be the least you guys can do to discourage this behavior.

also I don’t like the whole AP restriction thing, it reminds me of the whole gear score fascism that WoW provoked.
I hate myself for doing it, but I hate the alternative more.
With few small preparations at start you can make sure you have a decent group: put an AP restriction, ask ppl for their overall build orientation and gear, kick those who don’t fit the profile (make sure you got 1-2 soldiers who are sturdy enough, few condition removals and max 1 condition build..oh and NO “BEARBOWS” :P ).
Good pugs start with a good party leader (unfortunately sometime that means you have to be mean, and set some rules that exclude certain players).

I will give you another alternative:
Make your own pug, kick ppl who don’t fit your group description, make sure you enter 1st.
Now there is also a slight chance that the issue might be yourself, but that’s for you to analyze.
The bosses are indeed very squishie, my tip: kick your cleric guard (they got no business in a dungeon) and 1 max condition build per team. -)
I agree that the rewards are terrible and will make this dungeon a forgotten place once we get all the achievements.
I disagree about the time, I think once ppl learn the tactics the encounter can be done in 20-25 minutes.
I started with a PUG as well (because ppl in guild couldn’t log so soon after patch) . My only requirement on the path description was: min 10 000 AP.
Team composition: 2 guards, 2 warriors 1 necro. Went very good, we wiped once I think (40 min overall) . Then I did it with a guild group and it was even faster (we were all on voice and I already knew how to do it).
Bottom line: who ever needs 3 hours to complete this dungeon path needs to take a hard look at himself and his PUG composition, before raging on forums.
This dungeon is absolutely doable without voice comms and with randoms. Minimum requirement: BRAIN.
Will i do this regularly? probably not, there are more effective ways to make money, and none of the TA rewards are appealing.
I would say that ppl are so “loose” on their language due to frustration, so instead of punishing them I would check to see WTF is wrong with current meta… and why is the game causing more grief than a good time.

How many of those were berserker?
ZERO, I got rampager, knight and settler (totally useless for my guard which is full PTV).
SOLUTION: rollback. It should be easy to trace and revert this.
Question is: do they care enough to do it?

The game has been flat out too much, there’s actually a very small difference between a “pro” and an “above average” or even “average” player.
This is unconfutable.
There is so much truth in this phrase, that I don’t even know how to highlight it enough!
This is the true issue with the spvp (and wvw to some extent) in this game.
Everything can be copied and reproduced to obtain same results, making any imbalance frustrating at any level of play (from hot-joins to tournaments) .

No. ArenaNet has specified that they do NOT want raid dungeons or content multiple times. 5 man dungeons are what we’re stuck with. Raid content is saved for World Bosses, and is much more entertaining anyways.

Fractals anyone? no? not even …? ok back to dunduns and 111 world bosses.
I wouldn’t ignore fractals for karma farm, at daily 38 was about 10500, can’t remember how much i got at daily 48 but was more than that. Ofc condition is to do a fotm on a level that is below your character level.
When you create a Queue system in place to travel people properly to the main server. Make sure it actually works?
My record: I got thrown over 12 overflows, then i decided the game is trolling me and went doing something else.
PS: Getting on your own server is more challenging than Tequatl fight itself. :P

If this is the direction the game goes, most changed world events will be empty (like they use to be before they increased the reward/“guaranteed yellow”).
Frustration and grief are finding their ways into open world events. Good servers will start to fail as well because when the word gets out (about their “success”) ppl will camp for a spot on those servers, which will lead to events failing there as well.
Patch summary
- non working LFG tool;
- WvW fiasco due to the new Ruins of Power (killed any non zerg activity that took place there);
- PvE fiasco – more HP on already boring bosses (i.e Shatterer, Maw); Tequatl changes (cheese artificial difficulty).
I rarely post on the forum, but this patch made me say “WoW, wtf is happening to arenanet leadership?”.
In my opinion the guy who authorized this, should take a step back (because he/she/it is clearly living in a bubble). This drama was foreseen from miles away by any decent MMO player out there (exception being “brain dead”redditors and some “die-hard” fans).
Safe to assume that pvp skins will be unlocked by pvp achievements, rendering all this QQing useless.

PS. To those out there who got their account back, don’t just stay silent after you got account back and glad to be alive. Share the story! Many who have their account terminated due to false positivity gave up because they don’t see any hope (Like me). Especially after reading through the forums. Give them some hope that there are still justice in the world!

Shocked, stunned and puzzled is kinda the natural state of mind of any honest player who was unfortunate enough to have a 3rd degree chat with ArenaNet support.
Of course I am not speaking about Gail or Chris, both were swift and helpful in my case, but those GMs…. I think they are the true bots of GW2 (no compassion, no understanding, just formal out of context replies).
Someone asked about compensation, well in my case was 1 recipe, no laurels, no daily achievement points, or other stuff that you normally do get if not wrongfully deprived of your game time. Any way who cares about compensation, when they can never restore you the thing that matters most: TRUST.

Although I am happy that my account was restored swiftly this doesn’t seem to be the case with some of the other players who posted on reddit regarding the Metrica JP bug.
These guys shouldn’t wait 1 more second if proved that they were wrongfully banned. It is already 1 week since the incident.

I’m abusing the new Strength in Numbers (150 extra toughness) and Retributive Armor (5% of toughness is given as a bonus to precision.)
25 stacks of bloodlust, Superior Sharpening Stone and SY was running in this case.
When I don’t have a warrior close to me I replace Superior Sharpening Stone with Master Maintenance Oil. and I equip Bane Signet (to compensate the lost of extra power). I did not do that in this case, they cost too much to waste them for a screenshot. -)
Also I have some extra precision due to the infusion slots (not much, but every extra helps)
Basically high toughness is used to maximize the “convert x into y” mechanic.

I was gonna post this before I got hit by metrica jp ban hammer, but here is my PvE/WvW semi-buffed guardian post “balance” patch.
Power/Toughness/Vitality gear, Runes of the Forge and various ascended jewelry swapping weapons, major traits and skills, according to each unique situation.
I find 33% critical chance quite enough. With a warrior beside you, furry (20% extra critical chance) is never an issue.
Health pool moves between 21 000-22 500 depending on the WvW buff state (this SS was made on reset)
Favorite setup:
Weapons: GS, Scepter/ Focus (Dungeons); GS, Scepter/Shield -WvW small group (using Shield of Abortion to push thieves out of their Shadow Refugee) ; GS/ Staff (with restoration sigil) on mindless auto-attack zerg wvw.
Utility: SY, SyG (WvW),HtL
Note: On the attached SS I am self buffed only.
Worth noting as well: I am stealing hp on critical hits, GS attacks, weapons swap (superior sigil of leeching) , Resolve passive regeneration and shout regeneration.

Got all fotm weapon skins after 1420 +/- runs, ofc not all daily and not all above 20 (and also a lot of duplicates) thus I can’t make a good assessment on my luck/drop rate, still I think it shouldn’t take that long to complete a skin collection.
Keep in mind that skins are the only thing that still keep players interested, after they acquired the 2 rings and after the last patch loot nerf (and there was one, we can’t all be idi0ts) and after the lvl 50 hard cap.

Updated OP to reflect the homepage changes for GW2 (same site different index). These changes were necessary to support our implementation of TESO modules.
We’re still alive. Guild Bounty training will be done by Sunday (March 3) and we are continuing with the rest of the unlocks (in parallel).
We can accommodate few players for dungeon events and guild missions. We prefer HC players who can attend our daily planned events (all events take place each evening from 19:00 gmt to 22:00 gmt).
Even with the new changes to guild system we still prefer quality over quantity and we have the strength to keep up with the zerg, I mean big guilds.

There is no matchmaking in Hot Join (PvP Browser) matches. Matchmaking only exists in tournament matches, and it is based on your rating (a hidden value), not your Rank.
Any plans in making the rank (and the grind that comes with it) more meaningful? .
There are 4 ways to do the bonus encounter after lvl 40. Current problem with doing fotm past lvl 40 (I stopped at lvl 46, and i have done about 960 fractal runs, it gets boring) is the fact that you don’t get anything from it (not challenging nor fun anymore) beside slower runs ( kitten health pools and huge damage from all mobs) and more armor repairs.
- Every agony beside Jade Maw encounter is dodgeable.
- If you do FOTM for loot, doing daily 40 is not the most productive way to get it.
@Robert Hrouda: should I sell my 68 rings to a NPC or you guys will add a way to convert them into something else (salvage/mystic forge/anything else)?
Asking because between the fractal tokens, the skins and the rings I’m out of bank space soon ( and probably a lot more ppl in my situation).

None of those are part of the dailies for today. Please double-check both your system time and time zone.

I submitted a support ticket and attached both ArenaNet.log and VerifyResults.log (after trying a repair).
My question is: will we be reimbursed for missing out the laurels from the daily (currently the only way I can get the extra agony resistance for lvl 40+ fractals)?
Not to mention that you don’t get any sort of influence for SpvP. That always puzzled me, according to wiki it should exist.

Tired of sitting in Lion’s Arch waiting for a group to pop for your dungeon run? If that’s the case why not join a guild that offers organized dungeon events daily in a high efficient manner.
All we ask from you is to not waste our time by applying and then not join the events on planner or not knowing how to play your class.
My suggestion: Rank sPvP Hot-Join servers, give the option when press “Play Now” to actually be placed on a server where players are in same level range. That will motivate a lot of folk to put more “heart” into this. Easy to implement and cost effective (resource wise) – less frustrating for everyone.
I only have few over 1000 games played, BUT I often saw a lot of low level guys being put to face a team formed by players over pvp level 30, or teams of thieves and Mesmer against rest of the world. What I’m saying is that, the devs should look for the reasons of these afks and not for a quick solution.
Bottom line: you need to identify the root of all these AFKers and hostility that I witnessed, lately in hot-join:
- it might be class balance (Hot-Join is the paradise for Mesmer/thieves)
- it might be lack of motivation (currently PvP level has no meaning….and no the armor restrictions don’t count)
- it might be the team balance (class stacking, high level team vs low level team, etc)
I have a lot more to say on the subject, but I’m afraid I wont be able to keep it in the “forum rules” if fellow players will bring the “hot-join is to test builds” argument.

It can bunker but its worse then:

4.Mesmer.
I hope that is a random order you just placed there, otherwise it just shows that you are not in touch with the reality. Elementalist (only) on 3rd position as a bunker? lol
We can now again accommodate 1-2 players for PvE dungeons (highly efficient runs, 3 hours events each night) and our shy sPvP tournaments attempts (only PvP lvl 31 here, we still learning).
New: We accept players from other servers than Gunnar’s Hold (since you don’t have to actually be on same server to join a dungeon/sPvP).
At the moment we successfully hosted 75 PvE (dungeon) events and counting. To understand how we operate I attached a screenshot of one of the events signup page:
Thieves are doing same things that they did pre-patch, INSTA killing players. Personally I am not affected by their burst that much (guardian) but I’m tired to rez the entire team. IMO this will never change because as in Mesmer case there are core flaws.
I’m also all for nerfing the PvP bunker guardian builds, it’s just annoying to fight them, and also skilless to use such build., and yes I’m a guardian, saying this.
You mean INSTA kill noobs? Yes, but this would still happen no matter what they nerf…they didn’t nerf BS because, as i always said…BS it’s a really laughable burst to avoid…instead they nerfed dazelock, so they nerfed my actual build…time to find something even better
I often joke saying that the scripted mobs are smarter than 75% of the PvP players in this game. That’s a sad fact, unfortunately thieves didn’t got “fixed” where they should, so I doubt anything will change, in terms of raw sPvP…combat medic should be made an sPvP achievement if this continues (I know that there is one for PvE as well).
As for my fellow bunker guardians, what they were doing was just abusing mechanics and not skillfully playing. Although instead of tweaking skills I would have just forbid/add sPvP restrictions to certain runes and sigils that allowed such OPness combination to occur…that would have hurt the abusers and still let the rest of us who chose not to play like that, unaffected.

You’ve got it COMPLETELY backwards. The Majority of customers wanted it to stay just as it was. The small vocal minority whined so much that ANet has now taken steps that very well may hamper the game for the majority of people who liked it just how it was.
That’s because 90% of the guild mates and friends of that “small vocal minority” simply stopped logging instead of saying anything.
Bottom line: You can’t change human nature, there is a need for a carrot and skins were not it.
What that recent blog post failed to re-iterate for the players who weren’t blessed with enough grey matter is:
- Agony condition can only be applied by mobs/mechanics that will be implemented post 15 Nov Patch;
- Agony condition cannot be applied by players ( to alienate the folks that think this extrapolates to WvW);
- Infusion mechanic is only required in future dungeon and wont affect old ones;
The above being said, as an ex HC AoC player I can tell you that this is “Khitai gear” and “critigation” all over again. This (and AA’s) did more harm to the game then helping. It created such a huge gap between HC and casual players that the game never recovered from.
Personally, I’ve never seen a game fading out so fast, so IMO they drastically try to change one of their core philosophy in an attempt to stop this massive disinterest in the game.
Personally this is the first MMO ive played (and ive played most of them since the start) that ISNT fading.
I’ve spoken with over 30 guild leaders in last 2 weeks and even the guilds that had over 200 players are now barely see 5-10 ppl logging, so whilst I can’t speak on a large scale, I can at least tell you that players that swore that this game will keep them playing for years, have suddenly “disappeared”.
They need to bring a “carrot” to motivate ppl and skins it’s just not gonna cut it anymore, no idea if the new armor stats will change this, but what’s interesting is that they at least acknowledge they have a problem, unlike the dedicated fans. -)

Most likely this decision was taken after they analyzed the numbers of ppl actual playing the game and noticed a steady decrease in activity as the weeks were passing. Everything was made so reachable that people got what they wanted very fast and found little purpose to keep logging.
Oh and despite the popular belief a lot of players thought GW2 is a MMORPG and not a fashion contest, so whilst skins are great and can keep ppl busy for a while, eventually it gets old and they feel like the game has nothing to offer.
Personally, I’ve never seen a game fading out so fast, so IMO they drastically try to change one of their core philosophy in an attempt to stop this massive disinterest in the game.
I don’t get the 3rd party website BS either tbh, the info is there on their official site, it just need a cache flush (CTRL+F5).

Although the game state really doesn’t encourage recruiting we can still accommodate 1 or 2 players that are focused on sPvP and/or dungeons.
Until this moment we successfully hosted over 50 events (each week day we have a planned event that starts at 19:00 UK time). We now shifted part of the PvE attention to sPvP ( 3 days dungeons 2 days sPvP) because we caped and farmed everything we needed (we still run them for fun). If you are a serious and efficient, hate drama and don’t consider noob vs noob (also known as WvW) the end game in GW2, we are what you are looking for!

Please do not apply if you are not serious, or if you plan to solo the game, not attend planned events or just go afk and never to be heard of again. Also important to note that we have zero tolerance for drama and glory seekers.

About Us
Band of Brothers was one of the oldest and most-established guilds in Age of Conan and has a reputation for being fun, dignified, and also successful. We bring with us in Guild Wars 2, the same level of commitment, goals, and principles, to which we add: experience in guild management (we have learned a lot in 4 years of running a MMORPG guild) a relaxed environment and a very powerful guild structure.
We are primarily a High-End PVE-focused guild. We also PvP to a lesser extent and it’s something we plan to improve on. World vs World (WvW) and Structured PvP (sPvP) will be part of our daily activities
We concentrate on endgame content such as Dungeons and Elite (dynamic) Events, we believe that having fun with your guild mates whilst coordinating on Ventrilo/TS, is more pleasant, rewarding and less time consuming then randomly joining an * Elite Dynamic Event* , where there is just a "zerg"" mentality. In Age of Conan, we have been a guild that have figured out and successfully completed ‘hard-mode instances’, usually world-first or server-first. We are determined to get same results in Guild Wars 2! (and we did, check our progression here)
Recruitment
We plan to build an accomplished end-game team and therefore we need numbers from people who are good and determined. Every mature individual willing to get as good as possible with his class and participate on building a strong and successful guild is welcomed.
Because we want to keep our regular members happy and playing as much as possible, we are likely to not accept more players than what we can manage. We have learned over the years that * numbers aren’t everything* and usually a small, but determined group can achieve more than a guild where players log just to get their loot, without bonding or getting to know each-other. We are not an * item farm* , we are a community.
Our philosophy: there is a time and a place for everything: – we are serious, focused and disciplined when engaging into new areas, and we joke, banter, drink and have fun, once the * farm* status is achieved.
Trial System
When applying to the guild you become a Trialist. If you lack experience you will be trained in all encounters and how to get the best out of your class. When the Trial period is over, the officers will evaluate and vote. Passing your trial after 30 days will depend on attendance, performance, activity and character. Poor behavior and bad attitude will not be tolerated by anyone.
English is used in Guild and Group chat. Except for the forum rules, there are no other restrictions on the language or content thereof you may use. We’re all adults here (hopefully).
PvP
Our attitude to PvP is what we believe it should be: all about fun. Our members are free to engage in or avoid any PvP-related activity as long as they do so fairly and respectfully.
