MMO’s have been slowly moving away from the ffa style of pvp this is due to the fact that although fun at first it becomes stagnant unless you have a resource you fight for.

quite honestly as someone who mains a guard I don’t like the boothate mechanic an as someone who also mains a warrior I still don’t like the boonhate mechanic; it feels like a convoluted method to address the warrior profession; I don’t want to have to feel like I now need to delve into some other trait line to be effective.

Remove WvWvW from World Completion

There is a TL;DR version at the very bottom.

World Completion currently is 90% Solo/PvE based, and 10% World vs World based.

Now as someone who personally doesn’t enjoy World vs World content, this suggestion may seem a bit biased, however i can provide some valid points, that i feel anyone would agree with, of course i may be wrong, but the whole point of this suggestion is just that, a suggestion, it doesn’t need to be implemented or even considered, just an opinion that someone has whom feels would make the game slightly better.

Now on to the suggestion.

World Vs World needs to be removed from World completion, simply because it’s pigeon holing players that are working towards world completion, and are enjoying it, because they’re doing so at their own pace, however once you’ve completed all the zones and all that’s remaining is world versus world, you’re forced to be actively playing WvW content in order to get full completion.

Forcing players into content they do not enjoy is not a good marketing scheme.

So here is my suggestion.

Remove the World completion requirement from World Versus World, and give World Versus World it’s own stand alone completion that rewards something relating to World vs World, either a huge chunk of blueprints or something entirely different, I’m not sure what would Appeal to players who actively do this content, so I’ll leave this one open up for debate.

TL;DR As i wrote a lot.

Remove WvW requirement from World Completion and give WvW completion it’s own title/achievement/rewards.

No, people only want wvw map completion for their legendary; and if you can’t rally your server to take the POI’s you need then you’re not legendary.

Before the 4 second reveal debuff I was able to time a restealth after one backstab and one rotation of dagger strikes then hit CnD again to restealth; now with one extra second it takes two rotations of dagger strikes….

guess there isn’t much of a point to this post except I don’t like it; change it back! the rotation just seems so off now.

question: for a burst build, why not use eagle runes? you can generally burst players/regular mobs to 50% hp rather quickly and the extra precision gives a nice boost to crit chance. Does the lack of power plummet dps or something?

also more cit = more chance at weapon sigil procs

good brain storming on WvW idea but this won’t work, who’s to say who in a group of 20 people gets prioritized for boons and condi removals?

now if you’re able to do 5 man groups and merge them therefore letting the system know who to prioritize for buffs then maybe you got something.

Of course if you do this you’re opening a whole new can of worms; people will only want certain classes and probably will limit who’s in each 5 man group with the warband.

As someone who likes just joining in random wvw fights; If you have your commander tag up ill follow who I want to follow; end of story. If you don’t want me follow you don’t attract me with your blue dorrito so turn it off or port away to make me go follow someone else.

I swear this never use to be an issue before until players finally recognized WvW builds and combo finishers and came up with the idea that doing so made them better than everyone else.

I have to disagree with OP. My perspective is less mechanics/balance and more lore based. RTL – skill description begins with “Ride the lightning to your foe”. Lightning being essentially pure energy, would not be influence by physical movement altering effects – e.g. not slowed by cripple or chilled.

In fact, one could make the argument that it should remove the chilled effect – sitting on plasma would leave you a bit chafed and warm, not chilled

per the description then you should only be able to use it when targeting a foe to ride to them; not away from them to escape.

I just can’t see the conversion; although it is hard to see when you’re in a group setting in a dungeon but I see conditions removed from allies but I just don’t see the opposing boon come into affect. Has anyone tested this to see if it works correctly?

Say what you want but as someone who mainly plays the support guardian role I’ve seen way to many zerkers drop like flies at the slightest mistake. Now maybe you guys are the minority and are as good as you claim to be (that’s not for me to say yes or no to) but my overall experience is players in full zerker are downed and dead way too much. If it’s truly a learn to play issue then I wish all those guys I’ve seen die in 1 second would learn to play or swap to something more hardy.

Fractal 1: Urban. We wiped 2 times on the final boss. Should have been a warning
Fractal 2: Uncategorized. Wipe on all three bosses including the holding penn. Should have left
Fractal 3: Underground. First starts good, but after killing the dredge, they don’t realize the boss is next on the list. They just keep farming … Another 2 wipes on the Dredge Powersuit. These guys are n—bs, they just kept dying like flies.
I finally ask:

For those who don’t know, all that is zerker gear. This guy didn’t have a single point of toughness or vitality which explains his dying. Not only that, but they had no clue about tactics, bosses.

So this guy was carried at least 20 times for his backpiece, including at least 2 runs on 20+ for his infused rings. In all those runs, he just played like he was in COF1.

Blablabla, full zerk warrior on a 48 grawl here, one of the boss that will give off the most chipping damage.

You can’t even take much damage from Urban Battleground’s boss if you stay at range and dodge the meteor showers, gear is pretty much a non issue here. For uncategorized you can burn the first cat golem very quickly in melee with a guardian casting shield of the avenger to stop the poison blobs (with a high dps group and smart guardians this take about only 2 charges of the air ventilation system to get him down), and the end boss is all about kiting the asura away to burst the golems faster without having to pay attention to him.

Again, on the dredge powersuit, no chipping damage at all, this is a 200% dodge issue. Did the mining suit fine at 48 on full zerk and that’s where you also have to dodge the agony with a double dodge or a block, recharging your endurance constantly with the burst skill on the bow, unlike a lvl 12 run where you can just take the hit.

You got the group you deserved, so much ignorance and vitriol on something that is completely irrelevant to what made your group fail.

Keep relying on tough gear too much and you’ll have a funny surprise if you ever reach the higher levels.

I want to know how you make 2 different partys in Fotm. I see 5 ppl fight but only 3 are in party. How is that?

Also it’s important to note some classes can do better with zerker such as a mesmer; although in reality i guess it’s based more on things such as traits/runes/sigils/food which can help some classes have good staying power and wear zerker gear, even then it’s best to swap a couple of a zerker items for a bit more hardiness.

Full zerker is more of a hindrance than anything else. One mistake on your toast. I saw that vid, there was like 3 guards in that group taking all the aggro heh.

Anyone wearing full Zerker in a fotm beyond 26 is going to spend more time downed than anything else unless they’re a mesmer or a very good thief.

This is again, a learn to play issue. You’re probably one of these who have yet to start using line of sight at 30/40+ and turning every run into a teaching run. Even against the strongly hitting crowds from ascalon, as long as you use the right line of sight spots, pull them into your party stack + NPC you burn through these so quickly that even if you went down once you rally almost instantly.

My last 38 daily (I’m not running much FOTM these days) we had to kick two kitten for reasons unrelated to gear during cliffside, the two people who came and replaced them were kited in full berserker, so our group make up was like this : 2 zerk war, 1 zerk elementalist, 1 knight guardian, 1 mesmer (didn’t know about his gear), and the run actually ended on a much smoother note with the zerkers. The cultist died almost as soon as they were pulled into our stack through LOS.

But yeah, keep spreading that myth. I’ve found that most of the better players I’ve grouped with at higher levels were zerkers, the exception made of guardians who intentionally wear Knight to take some aggro and damage for the group.

The type of player who suffer from your misconception is certainly not the type of player I want in my party since the belief that you can’t go zerk beyond 26 is obviously associated to the fact that you can’t handle doing it right without some crutch.

Please… get over yourself. 1000+ fractals later on four toons tells me otherwise. I mostly play my guard and keep the melee zerker noobs alive or at least try my best too and it has nothing to do with me being on a zerker but everything to do with seeing zerkers drop like rocks on anything past fotm 26. They’re an anchor and get everyone else killed who tries to ress them when they screw up in those tight situations.

I could care less if you want to group with me, I guarantee I’m 10 times better than you in fractals and carrying a lot of players like yourself.

I have 3 80’s past fotm lvl 10, one at 40+ another at 30+ and the last one at 26+. I run some with my guild but I still do a lot of PUG groups and most of them are fairly competent enough to get through without much issue, so I honestly don’t know why people complain about PUGS so much.

I’ve done so many of fotm dungeons that I know them front to back and when I see someone not doing something they should be doing I just keep it simple and say things like “Stack here” or “this way” or “pull to hallway”; 99% of the people listen.

MF is terrible and anyone who defends it is just trying to defend their leeching. That MF could be better used anywhere whether it be for survivability or Damage and adding MF runes can be even worse as many runes will help out party members with buffs.

lupi is a good boss; doesn’t need a buff nor a nerf.

good bosses are the ones that require you change utilities to combat that specific boss, even if those utilities aren’t part of your build.

Also I’ve been pugging arah a ton lately at worst I had a group that wiped 2 or 3 times on lupi, other than that all my pugs have killed it on first try.

they should remove the limit on spell based attack AOE’s but also lower the dmg on Melee Based AOE’s, only the person targeted should be hit for max dmg on a weapon based AOE.

In addition keep the limit on buff based AOE’s.

A big problem is AOE, everything has an AOE, GS, Hammer, Axe; the current mechanics allow everyone to just ball up run into an opposing gathered enemy and hit multiple people without having to specifically target one person; this removes a lot of coordination you would otherwise needs to take down enemies one by one individually; I really hope A-Net goes back and looks at AOE damage again; the amount of AOE in this game is ridiculous and only adds to the zerg mentality.

I noticed today Harpy pheromones were disabled in dungeons; I realize many items were disabled due to exploitation but I feel that the power of love the Harpy Pheromones gave versus the power of hate of my enemies in dungeons was evenly balanced. I therefore petition a re-enabling of Harpy pheromones in dungeons/fractals.

even the thief can’t do it all in stealth; if i remember right using any stealth ability while on the control panel interrupts it.

Uhh the control panel takes more than 10 seconds….

stretch the imagination…theif is not the button user…mesmer uses mass invis while not being the button user….

Even as a thief with CnD or a mesmer, if you’re cloaking someone else you better hope that last guy who’s running around (because the other two are on buttons) has a lot of good aggro and the cloakers don’t get hit by collateral damage because if they do at lvl 40+ they’re going to drop like rocks.

I use to play a game called shadowbane and they implemented something where one zone/map would drop better loot and exp for 2 hours, then it’d switch to another.
