If I transmute the precursor “Shamans etched avenger of rage”and/or re-sigil it will I not be able to use it later to make the corrupted version when I have enough lodestones?

sounds awesome, a little pricey but I’d still take it. Remove the ectos part though sick of using ecto’s for every little thing.

Whats the point of selling these fun items if you can’t find novel ways to use them?

Your Level 17, and join a group for 18 fractal? You get the lvl10-tier Daily reward.

You go on to follow as they do a level 20 fractal (You are now level 18) immediately after? You don’t get any reward. This is because YOUR reward level is still 18, despite set level is 20. Being an even Fractal, it checks to see if you can get your Daily reward after Jade Maw. As you are in the 10-tier Fractals reward range, you don’t get the Daily reward as you already gotten it earlier.

Now if this was the next day? You would get your 10-tier Daily reward.

(If thats wrong, then I got kittened out a daily reward before.)

My rings are sitting in my bank; about 30 in total; I used pristines to buy rings for my other 80 characters (assuming I already didn’t have the ring in my bank) I think I’m left with 40 odd pristine relics. The thousands of regular relics I used to make fractal back-pieces for my other characters, I also used normal relics to buy 20 slot backpacks.

It would be nice to use pristines to buy amulets and accessories, it would actually let people progress in fractals a bit further in 40 plus without doing that lame revive move.

AND

since we have to infuse our gear (unlike other people going for ascended outside fractals) it would be nice to salvage ascended for mist essences.

As someone who does both they fit fine.

Kill invaders? check
5 events? check
kill vet mobs? check
kill a champ mob? check
smack a doly? check
gathering? check

You can’t do something like 10 tokens for the first initial run and zero for any other run?

just cleared dredge level 38, our composition was Guardian, Warrior, Warrior, Thief, Necro. The thief was actually a party members alt who started as a warrior but decided to get his thief in after two wipes.

Our plan was to get two people on the switches and the thief was going to Toss shadows refuge on the warrior once his spy kit was close to running out, I as the guardian was going to run interference. (i didn’t make the plan, don’t shoot me)

This was a pug so unfortunately plans don’t work out half the time; the thief died right away in the room, one warrior died on one button and the necro died on the other (they didn’t die right away obviously; they were maybe downed 8 seconds after standing on the buttons). During this time the last warrior made a bee line for the panel and I as the guardian ran interference; I “tanked” the mobs closest to the panel while he went for the panel, once the button sacrifices died all the dredge went for me; in the end I survived long enough for him to finish but I was inevitably downed and died. The warrior on the panel did survive though and ran out safely.

Is it doable? yeah. Is it fun and strategic? Heck no; I as a guardian with over 3k armor and rockin healing could only survive so long with dodging, SoA and my heals. I don’t see how any squishier class that wears light or medium armor (even balanced damage based warriors) are going to survive that dredge onslaught.

Some aspects of fractals need to be tweaked. This was a good guinea pig dungeon for A-Net to create but they need to work on it some more not just dredge but other fracs as well; and if you’re reading this A-Net add the new ascended items to the fractal vendor already for effing sake; jeeez, seriously…

that’s because a-net is half-assing it and throwing in little chunks at a time for this gear. Heck it all started with fractals where to increase your fractal level you needed that gear and they haven’t even implement the new gear in them yet.

Mini, I say cliffside is not too bad (30 mins on 1 fractal I think is expected). But I agree with you there – 2 hours for F30 only gets you around 2-4 gold per run. Considering most farming gets you around 3-4 gold per hour fractals aren’t really worth the time.

I do feel doing some of the fractals is a waste of time – like snowblind which isn’t too hard but doesn’t have many good drops. Heck I even feel that swamp is a somewhat a waste due to only facing a puzzle at the beginning and a boss after that. Bottom line is if we are allowed to choose, I’d pick Ascalon 3x every fractal run.

In addition every time I kill the unresponsive gw2 app my partitions just vanish and I have to restart.

This sounds similar to my issue; any fix yet?

I have never had an issue before with this game.

Today I tried to launch and it appears that GW2 attempts to start once I add in my login credentials but nothing happens. I get a hand mouse over and I can see the GW2 tab in the task bar but that’s it. If I control alt delete it shows GW2 isn’t responding. If I kill the game and restart I get the same thing; I’ve tried restarting my system, updating my nvidia drivers and I checked for viruses; nothing works. I’ve ran other games located on the same partition and they run just fine.

I heard there was a patch this morning? I don’t recall the patcher dling anythin, is there anyway to force a check?

from an rp perspective? Both whispers and priory would work; vigil not so much.

honestly a better system would be to have a rare token drop instead of a skin so you could at least choose which skin to purchase from a vendor.

I just bought the new rings with pristine relics. They cannot be infused in the forge.

To say I’m disappointed is an understatement.

It’s like Anet is intentionally screwing with us by introducing more and more slots without fixing the ones we already have. The treadmill is definitely taking its toll on me.

Wait what? If you buy them with pristine relics you can’t infuse? But with laurels you can? Please clarify.

The new rings infused recipes weren’t added in this patch by a mistake or something and will eventually get fixed.

About the topic ~ Had a feeling that accessories would be added to the laurel system aswell as the amulet. In my opinion it’s pretty frustrating to have yet another patch update where another ascended piece is added to the laurel system instead of adding it also to the FoTM vendor.

I enjoy doing Fractals and I don’t mind grinding for weapon skins and rings even though the RNG doesn’t always favor me but being forced to grind tasks that has nothing to do with the instance itself in order to get ascended gear to let you progress further in the instance makes no sense to me.

No sense at all I’m afraid…it’s ridiculous.

Earrings are accessible by guild events or laurels+ ectos. Also, as stated previously, this was never supposed to be fractals only gear. They stated many times that ascended gear would be accessible in MANY different ways as content is released.

Yeah well you’d think when they said that you could get any piece of ascended gear with either 1) fractals 2) laurels 3) guild missions (you know, that whole silly choose your own way to play game). Not grind out something you don’t like for each little different piece. This system is dumb and I see no point to running fractals anymore.

Uhh the control panel takes more than 10 seconds….

1. No accessories or amulets to buy with pristine relics.
2. No way to salvage additional ascended rings.
3. No trade in options for skins players have received but can’t use.
4. Now many deaths to come for fotm lvl 40+ on dredge.

I have knight + soldier guardian with around 3,4k armor on fractals base. On 30+ fotm I can stand there on button with protection and all those buffs maybe for 10 seconds (elite invu make it so long mostly)
I can block shooting dredges, yes, but not those with shocking wave and not those who jump from the floor on me with knockdown. I cant dodge them (it will interupt console).
If someone got some video, how to really defend this event on 30+ and stay alive on buttons without stealth etc I really want to see it.

The whole argument that small guilds cannot partecipate this is invalid.
You can buy 50k influence with 100g. Even a very small guild of 10 people can gather 10g each (which is the income of one, single day of normal play) and buy 50k influence.
Just organize a day of guild fractals and you’ll get that money in 24 hours.

How does that even work? Once everyone is kicked the boss will regen his health when the group leader disengages. Also how does one person kick 4 people?

What happened to multiple ways to get ascended?

I liked my character to be as effective as possible in WvW and I like the fact that this game doesn’t make you grind our battlegrounds to do that.

I’m not expecting much; a small change to WvW; a minor addition to the living story. Not sure what the guild missions will do since all my pve is pugged so I probably won’t be participating in guild missions.

Ok, I’ll start with the required I love the game but statement………
It’s true, the game is fun to play, beautiful graphics, large amounts of content and then you hit level 80. Once I hit 80 the game seemed to lack purpose, and worse yet became the grind fest we were told it would not be. At least, that’s what it seems to be. Aside from 5 dungeons and cursed shore grinding all that’s left is to map jump and hope you don’t get mistaken for a botter.
I’m not one of those who think legendary weapons should be easier to get and I don’t care about th DR of precursors but at least give us more to shoot for than grinding for gold.
And don’t tell me fractals for ascended gear, that’s just another grind. Whatever happened to mobs actually dropping usable gear, not just crafting breakdown gear.
Now, having said all that, does anyone feel the same or have any advice that will, hopefully, make my comment dead wrong? I would like to think the endgame is more than starting the rediculous legendary grind, (I play a ranger and have no desire for the worst legendary bow ever invented for a male player trying to look menacing, nothing says fear me like a……….. Rainbow firing, flower trailing bow of the pretty pretty princess!

Look at all the achievements you could get done?

They may hinted at the possibility of raising the cap at an unknown time but that doesn’t mean they will; in fact reading most posts I’d say they wont bother raising it.

Think about it, right now they’re adding ascended gear bit by bit; so far we have rings/backslot and amulet. They still need to introduce Armor, weapons and accessories and all these items are level 80; you really think they would suddenly up the level cap during this process? They’d have to be out of their mind. Add in the fact that it seems by these threads and posts that most people playing this game would shelve the game if it raised the cap (especially with the elder scrolls online coming later this year). I just really don’t see a level cap increase coming any time soon if at all.

never been a fan of “D O.o ling” but it’s not against the rules. Now if you had a like minded group of fine gentlemen who like to enjoy a little more unpredictability in their pvp (griefing) you could grab them and roll the cumbaya fest over.
