a) Torment; what a ridiculous half thought of application of a condition. I could see a second DoT attack with a base dmg but something that ticks on move?

b) Blind: this condition is out of control lately the reapplication of it is just too easy.

Both of which absolutely hurt Melee builds; A-net should have gone with one or the other but not both.

1. Last stand trait doesn’t give a swiftness buff when it activates balanced stance.
2. if using the vigorous focus trait both last stand and defy pain don’t trigger a vigor boon.

Currently what many people do it accumulate 25 stacks of say Bloodlust and then un-equipe the bloodlust weapon and place it in their inventory once they reach 25 stacks to a different weapon in their inventory; the 25 stacks remain giving that person 250 power and the benefits of the bloodlust weapon that’s in their inventory; is this working as intended?

Just a quick thought; possibly an innate 5 second cooldown on a warriors weapon swap could help boost them in the spvp/wvw portion of the game.

This is a little late, but it was from last night while 30 [PYRO] held off 60+ FA with no siege. We wiped you guys 4 times, I think. Once with siege, every other time without. Didn’t get many videos, but here’s a fun one, with commentary from Xela.

I’ve personally burnt myself out of Fotm 48’s and do other things now. I have quite a collection stored in my bank; in total I think I’ve accumulated around 20 fractal weapons give or take but I still haven’t received every weapon I’d like yet, I just can’t do the rng anymore; personally I’d love to them see them open the 50’s and have tickets drop there but I’d be ok with other methods; the 4:1 combo seems a bit much though, I also dont like the idea of using yet another 250 ectos for something else.

It’s too strong because of how the duration is calculated. Say I have +40% cond duration and they have -40%. 1.4 × .6 = .84.

It not only counters it, but then reduces it even more. A fix for how that is calculated would solve the problem… but it’s probably easier to just nerf the food down to where it would just even out.

It hasn’t been proved that it even works that way yet. Everything else uses the unmodified value as a base for modification, so why the -40% should work differently?

That IS how it works.

Dogged March/The Ele trait + Melandru Runes + This Food = Immunity to:
Fear, Chill, Cripple, Immobilize. (Melandru Runes Reduce Fear duration by 50% because fear is also considered a stun, so 50%+40%= 90%, which brings most fear’s durations to 1/4 or 0.)

Its absolutely broken in WvWvW/PvE and should get fixed.

I like the mobs, they add tactical and unknown factors in fights; I’d like to see more difficult mobs added actually.

Anyone against the mobs in now is just use to the fake pvp battlegrounds created by other games……buncha carebears.

I don’t consider myself an elitist by any means. I don’t look for ways to speed run through a dungeon, I often PUG and I don’t tailor my builds toward purely pve since I enjoy all aspects of this game but I do agree that dungeons in this game are extremely lacking.

most bosses are very bland and time consuming due to their high HP offering no diversity of tactics A-Net made a step in the right direction with fractals by adding specific ways to beat an encounter but as pointed out fractals have been ignored for quite some time now and do not feel completely polished and most of the bosses need tuning. I really do wish dungeons and fractals would be revamped to add phases and strategy much like giganticus lupicus and tone down the trash mobs/hp time sink bosses.

I’d like to correct the misakenly used term of “carebear”.

Weather you’re hardcore or casual if you’re out doing open pve, dungeons, slaying dragons, or even sitting in a battleground of some kind grinding out your pvp gear you’re a carebear. Non carebears are those who specifically look for player versus player content in an open world unfair environment; those guys who wish for free for all kill anyone pvp and want to loot your corpses.

No thanks, worst idea ever, last thing this game needs is for it to normalize having several sets of gear even more than it does now to take advantage of being able to re-trait on the fly. This would be ridiculous for boss encounters and trivialize them even more than they are now as well and perpetuate an attitude to have a specific build for each specific encounter.

So you’d rather have to spend more time traveling each time to a city, reset, re-click and setup traits, one piece of armor at a time (drag dropping or right click equipping) than having a simpler option to allow you to do it quicker? (and might I add out of combat, and limited in some way to avoid abuse?)

No I’d rather keep things the way they are now where it takes thought and commitment to play a certain build; builds are what add variety as the same class can play completely different; negate that and builds are meaningless and people will just change builds to make wvw/boss encounters trivial.

I already know those exist does no one read nowadays? All i ask is an alternate method to allow PVE’rs to buy these +stat +agony infusions instead of having to craft them using the MF. It’s insanely expensive.

If one meta gets the option to buy something with a currency another meta should also be allowed to buy their version of the same item using their currency.

For example in WVW you can now buy a +stat +wvw bonus infusions with laurels and WvW badges.

So what I ask is that for fractals they allow those players to buy +stat +agony infusions for Laurels and fractal relics.

it’s not a hard concept to grasp and I’m not writing in a foreign language here.

Dust is a high commodity low drop item. However, the item is farmable, unlike say silver doubloons. As the price rises, more people will farm it and sell it off. As the price peaks, hoarders will begin a sell off, bringing the price lower until it finds its place.

This is the same complaint that happened with ectos until the garenteed rare from world bosses. Now people are complaining that ectos are dropping to fast. For dust my opinion is to let the market work itself out, the prices will find a balnance eventually through new content, farmers, and people who acquire their goals and no longer need the dust.

Note my opinion is only for this item, and would be different from say doubloons, or venom sacks.

Most people are happy about the ecto drop, now only if T6 mats would drop as well.

The price to make those or farm the mats to make those is insanely high. Don’t let jealousy or hatred of another meta blind you from shear fairness. All I am suggesting is a laurel vendor be available for fractalers to buy double stat infusions as well.

Heck they should also add a double stat infusion vendor for utility ones as well.

Also fishbait’s response is absurd; I’m not going to keep reinfusing items depending on which meta I’d like to do for the next several hours; I don’t want the WvW stat itself; just the +5 stat.

I see you put in double stat infusions for the WvW players + 5 stat with +1 wvw stat. Why do fractalers not get the option to purchase +5 stat with +5 agony? With the current system you’d have to craft such an infusion which is insanely expensive. Please be consistent and add such an option.

A-Net has utterly ignored every thread about FOTM. There’s been so many threads regarding FOTM one has to wonder why they ignore so many threads, especially since from looking at gw2lfg.com it is one of the most popular run dungeons in this game so there is a good sized chunk of their playerbase which would benefit from many of the great ideas and concerns people have brought forth on this board.

The truth? I think the combat system is bad(for group pve), and basically the dungeon content is lackster. I don’t think the dev put alot of though on how the combat system and dungeon should work together. The combat system revolve more around “play style” than “how they should work in a group”.

And you never really need to balance range dps vs melee dps in other game since if your tank is dead in other game, the range is dead too. In this game players are rewarded much more for fighting up close since they are more in danger. In other game dps melee have tank to take the damage for them so they are not rewarded for more.

But the reality is I don’t really care about balance. Unless you care so much about speed run. I think it is just culture of the game. People care so much about time vs reward in GW2. In other game people focus on “killing the boss”, that’s it.

I do not care about about the reward/time equation. But I do care about the safe/fast equation in fights. At the moment Safe and Fast are equal in most PvE parts, and dungeons in particular. The OP put forward a solution to diminish the Fast part (removing might from warriors mean they will output less DPS). Even with less DPS I still think the 4War+1XXX will be above most groups in terms of Safe and Fast.

I am not a hardcore player, I am more of a “hardcore casual”. And I have tried out various contents with different team compositions with my friends. We started out with high survivability and low damage (PVT lots of utility) in dungeons, and now we have moved to high damage and low survivability (Zerker no utility). Overall we perform much better, we have certainly improved our skills, but we all feel like going back to the what we think is “Safe” would only make everything much harder and more dangerous.

This is what I am really against, at the moment there are no real roles in a team that would make it perform better. No roles like boon-producer,condition-mancer, disrupt master, blind spammers are very demanded in the dungeon meta.

Again as the OP stated some professions are able to do too much with too little effort in PvE which is bad for a PvE balance (well known teams clearing all dungeons with almost the same team composition means there is a problem, especially when you have 3 to 4 people of the same profession).
The dungeon fights not being a real challenge compared to PvP fights and not containing enough diversity of extreme situations will also discourage team variety.

Give us enemies that have a damage reduction cap unless they are chilled or burning or stunned or have a high regen for which we will require poison. Give us enemies with high armor and low HP, give us really fast attacking mobs with low damage retaliation and confusion mancers will be happy. Give us fast moving enemies jumping in and out of the fight and killing us at range. Give us a variety of all of this in the same fight and we may see a change in the meta.

Stop it with enemies sitting on the same spot thinking that shooting arrows non stop on a reflection wall is a good idea.

There are quite a few dungeons where a mesmer or guardian are just useless if your group knows how to play. Either way, the issue is there, about 5 professions are almost never used. Reasons are missing damage (and/or, for Arah for example the misssing projectile reflection). There is absolutely no reason choosing more than one mesmer or more than one guardian. Doesnt offer more support, screws your dps. Same for all other 5 classes, don’t offer any support, don’t offer good damage. To make teams like 1 Warrior 2 Mesmer 1 Engineer and a Nekro or w/e random composition viable there is a simple solution. Buff their damage by a really, really large amount.

Sadly that’s not a realistic fix (i wish it were) but if they did so they’d destroy Spvp and WvW. Honesty and I hate to say it because i play a warrior but I think 100b needs to be nerfed but it should be changed to some type of instant and/or guided skill without a rooting casting timer, that would at least take care of warriors. The next easiest fix would be for mesmers which IMO the best fix would be to give other classes a group timewarp like ability; specifically I’m thinking of engineers which would fit the lore with it’s technology based skills.
