I guess the vast ammount of people and number of threads popping up complaining about the economy in this game doesnt mean a thing.

Dont bother arguing in this forum, the economists sit here and vehemently defend their little wet dream of a TP. The average player can see the prices of many end game materials has been going up while the average earning income for players hasn’t gone up as much. But people aren’t going to care if they’re the ones making the money, I know several people in game who’ve made a descent ammount of gold, not one of them has done so without flipping items on the TP.

DAOC was okay at best, it as actually the first game that carbearized PVP by putting it in a specific zone, granted mythic later added mordred but by that time it was too late IMO. if You want to follow an awesome seige based PVP game and mimic what they did look to shadowbane. Smaller numbers in that game beat zergs easily if you called out targets had the proper siege spec builds and coordination; not just a buncha CC + PBAOE junk like daoc did.

While you all bicker and complain there are real issues plaguing this world such as lost baby quaggans desperately looking for their families..

Why bring X class to a dungeon? I’ll tell you why, cause I dont suck and could care less what class you are as long as you dont suck either.

I’m not going to sit there for 10 minutes looking for the perfect group composition.

You tend to get a few of those venom sacs in the jade maw fractal if you kill the mobs, maybe an avg of 3 per run.

if its a saved card there’s a limit on the number of times you can use it within a month time span, after that you’ll have to enter it manually.

I bet one of the most interesting parts of getting a legendary was going into the WVW maps and leading your server to take keeps for the world completion.

and also going and killing enough enemies to get 500 badges.

It means you bought stuff when it was cheap or you know how to play trade wars 2. Nothing else.

I think honestly that there are 4 camps….

Camp 1) happy with how things are.
Camp 2) unhappy with how things are, demanding that it be fixed but giving no input as to how.
Camp 3) unhappy with how things are, outraged at market manipulation, asking that things be fixed by <insert market manipulation policy here>.
Camp 4) unaware of any conflict and drama, marginal users of the trading post and/or generally uninterested in ‘shiny legendaries’.

Camp 2 is vocal but not sharp enough to realize how to fix the problem.
Camp 3 is vocal, and proudly wears their ability to not think rationally on their sleeves, by demanding solutions far worse than the perceived problem.

Want to fix it? That’s simple: Anet needs to do nothing. Anything more is the same market manipulation that camps 2&3 are crying foul about – except it would be actual manipulation, not simply perceived or assumed. Instead, you need to work in the market. Make yourself rich any way you can. It takes research and work. But when you contribute the marketplace, you broaden the base of the market and you make the will of the individual less able to manipulate things. Yes! No longer will a single player be able to buy up all the spicy veggie chili, relisting it at a gold/ea (and if you get angry at the thought of someone doing that – think on it. Kudos to anyone who laughs at the ludicrousness of the image)

End of the day: this is a game. Get upset over flat tires, higher taxes, or lost jobs. Getting upset over a game is silly.

Just out of curiosity, I posted on lfg and said " This is our first time running this dungeon" midway we had one random getting upset at us calling us noobs and asking " it’s obvious you never ran this, you’re useless bye " people really need to calm down…And have some fun.

I joined a sub 80 group once and it took way too long so I won’t do it again. Nothing personal and I’m not being an elitist at all but I have other things I need to do eventually and don’t want to be stuck in one dungeon run much longer than I need to be because people want to level their alts in dungeons. Besides there are two much faster ways to level a character besides dungeons.

it’s rare but it happens. when you go higher it just means you have the chance of getting the vial, glob or shard.

When I’m done with my fractal dailies the ressing is done yes.

have done plenty of fracs my acheivement hasnt moved so frac’s dont count or im bugged.

You’ll need it later but honestly youll gain about 80k karma by the time you get to 80 which in the long run ends up being a drop in the bucket. So spend it if you want, but if you’re looking to upgrade gear just buy it from the tp.

I do fractal’s so after doing a couple of the dailies pretty much everything is done, if anything isn’t done it’s usually the crafting/events/gathering. You can do the last two quickly in orr or wvw and then just refine some ore or something for the crafting.

always buy new gear from the tp every 5 levels.

google something like “gw2 event leveling guide” and follow that, its boring but that’s where you will find people doing events.

Been playing my thief a while, and play an Elementalist who just hit 80.

On my thief I just got to level 10 fractals, and got my first ascended ring; so far I’ve had no issues. I generally do P/P on bosses that hurt in melee, and can keep great up time with unload and the damage seems solid; I barely die, use shadow refuge when needed, etc…

I’ve been hearing a lot about how at higher fractals, people specifically ask for certain classes not to join. Well, specifically I’ve heard that people do NOT want thieves or elementalists in their higher level fractal groups.

This is making me feel a little disheartened in my pursuit of Fractals, seeing as I’d also like to do them on my Elementalist; why are people deliberately choosing to not allow in these classes? What makes them worse than the others? Will it be fixed?

I adore playing my thief, and the dodgy play style it entails, I’d hate to think that I will be gimping my group in higher fractals just for being a thief.

People are feeding you BS, I’m in the 30’s and I see thieves and ele’s in groups all the time, I’ve never seen someone get kicked for being one or the other. Have enough AR and play good and pay attention and no one will care.

I thought the old dailies were simpler, not that it makes any difference a couple of frac runs and some wvw and I’m left with only daily to grind out and it’s the gathering one, same as it was before the patch.

Ok, so as an experiment I tried a round of ruthlessly selling everthing – that is as soon as it dropped, I hit “Buy more at trading post” read out where the next big hump in supply was, then sold the item at a price that joined the hump rather than matching or undercutting the lowest available price. I played for about an hour. I checked back on the total value of what had sold a couple hours later (because I wasn’t pricing for intantaneous sales)…

…I evidently made close to 60s an hour – with a 6th level character (8th by the end of it). Things like picking up 2 chili peppers obviously helped, but then again I chose to play in the Charr area specifically because I knew I might find those there.

Thing thats easily overlooked is that while 80th level characters earn vastly more, a lot of 80th level character-players are trying tuck away a wide array of the things they get. When I consider tht trying to make the gifts of Migh and Magic means I’m storing rather than selling what at a glance looks to be well over 400g of materials, then yes, I’m a lot richer than the coin I keep in my shared bank would indicate, and making a lot more per hour than it seems. Today I may have only added 50 silver or so to my character running in orr, but I also stockpiled probably 10+ T6 fine mateirals (1-1.5 gold if sold) and got 4-7 ectos out of breaking down the rares that equate to another 1.5-2.5g if I wasn’t working towards Legendary gifts.

I like the exotic temple armor, thats what I wear. Hate the helm though just got the tier 3 human helm instead.

I like being lvl 80 but contrary to what people say it wasn’t a chore leveling to 80 the first. It was pretty enjoyable honestly, but now that I have three 80’s…yeah now it’s a chore.

I still don’t see what so awesome about warriors. If they’re in my fractal groups ok, if not, ok too. Never seen a correlation with successful frac runs and having warriors.

Who levels alts in dungeons? That’s a painfully slow way to level.

Devs, you can use your arguments, I am not saying they are not true. But there is one problem – no normal players has enough money to buy those ectos anymore. I would never spend 40s for 1 ecto when it takes me and hour to earn that sum (As I said, I am just average player, not some farmer with 3G per hour). These prices supports only no-lifers spending their whole day farming enough gold and then they use their wealth to “manipulate” the market. .

You consider yourself and “average” player, and therefore assume that all “average” players are like you. That is a logical fallacy. Also, it is not difficult to earn a sum greater than 40s per hour. Running a fractal, which takes about an hour, will earn you more than 40s.

How? Selling the blues/greens you get from that place alone nets you like 15s. If you get Dredge fractal, the mining bags themselves are like ~30-50s. Get like, ONE rare, and that’s 30-40s right there. 40s in one fractal run is easy.

sure, sell that one rare you get or ecto it and sell that ecto but that kind of defeats the purpose for collecting the vast amount of ecto’s a player needs now doesn’t it genius boy?

Once again, they made the wrong change. The fractals should have still scaled but in brackets. 1-9, 10-19, 20-29, etc. I run with 4 regular and we used to grab a 5th if one of our other friends weren’t on. Now, there is no chance I will take a random pug because you just have no clue what they may be on or what their experience may be.

Hello People of A-NET,

would you be kind enough to respond to the questions of whether or not more ascended item choices such as “knights”, “Carrion” and other stat choices currently available as exotics will be made available as ascended gear?

I’m only asking because I’d like for my other characters to delve deeper into fractals which they cannot do because I’m patiently waiting for this gear to be added and don’t want to spend the relics if you plan to add these items. If not then it’d be nice to know so I could change my builds on those characters.

As a general player, one who does fractals and likes to WvW, gets his dailies done and someone who knows jackkitten about econimcs (boring classes in undergrad and grad) stuff is just really expenive. I was looking into making a corrupted bulwurk and lodestones cost 1. odd g?! I mean cmon that’s just rediculous. It’d be nice to make a cool looking weapon but eff that price, that’s all my money, I’ll just subject myself to the RNG and farm fractals for weapon skins.
