Instead of TP, you can also visit the vendors outside LA bank selling various cheap food buffs. For 2s you can complete this daily easily.
Some of you are being terribly harsh to the OP. There’s nothing wrong with wanting to level or finish map completion without taking part in the event. Lornar’s Pass was there for different purposes long before the Marionette was introduced.
I just experienced that same problem but I did get the Hoard V chest, just not the big reward chest in the center. Could it have been because I accidentally hit “skip to the end” on the marionette explosion cutscene?
It’s labelled a “World Boss” so you only get the big inner platform chest once a day. The event bonus chest which scales based on success/failure on chains, is rewarded on every attempt. I did it multiple times a day over the weekend for easy rares/ectos because it rains with cypher pieces on lane defense + the bags of 5 in the event chest.
Perfectly doable in overflows as I’ve found it, but there’s a higher probability 1 lane will fail on one chain (usually 3rd or 5th). Main server seems more capable of accommodating enough players for 25+ lanes making things easy on a first go for everyone. Overflows get just enough to divide by 20 per lane and any attempts to get more players seem to fail. I’ve tried getting guildies in my squad multiple times but they just end up in different overflows.
Why would you want to be covered in a cloud of stench wherever you go? Cause that’s what it looks like.

I agree this is the wrong forum section to address this. However, while we’re on topic, I can share my method of acquiring T6 mats, since I’m also currently working on Kudzu and only have t6, ectos and shards left. No way to farm them directly, as the level 70-80 mobs that can drop them share a lootpool of t5 and 6 mats. So the best option is to work on getting at least 10g a day that you can invest in buy orders.
What I do is run ori/ancient harvest on 3 chars everyday and that gives me 8g a day. When I have all the mats at my disposal from salvage or harvest, I craft deldrimor/spiritwood/damask and sell for some extra g.
Champ train will net you some mats from the chests, as well as cores or lodestones you can sell directly or craft weapons and sell. For example, I made a Jormag’s Breath last week that sold for 85g.
Dungeons can also render some mats from the champ boxes you get, as well as the 1.5g that adds up if you run multiple paths or dungeons in a day.
I’m not happy with this change. They removed actually useful items such as the karma booster (which we get so little of since the nerf in September), to replace with items you can get in 5min of playing, the scroll and essences. And mystery tonic is still a common drop, despite it saying otherwise.
Players have stockpiled exotic level crafting mats (including ectos, you need 5 a piece for 1 insignia) in anticipation of 400→500 and ascended armor crafting. Why prices spiked fast from around 17s to well over 30s, and it’s still holding steady at that price. Now most have finished crafting their ascended armor and dumping their leftover crafting mats on the TP most likely for gold.
The events (at least the Marionette) can be done in overflow. Actually my only successful attempt at it so far has been in an overflow, at 2 am, not exactly prime time on my side. The reward even upon failure scales to the number of chains you managed to cut loose. Failure is resulted by lack of organization, which is done easily in the 5 min countdown timer, via map chat.
I love Taimi. She reminds me a bit of Borderlands 2’s Tiny Tina. Young, adorable and daring. Maybe a bit of the silly loopy side sometimes!
I’d love for it to stick around as well. Have only succesfully completed the event once so far, but I believe it’s a lot more forgiving and accessible to most players than the 3 wurms.
Somehow I don’t see them destroying the capital social hub LA just to have a giant dragon emerge from underneath it. Maybe just make a new dungeon where we crawl down some catacombs looking for something.
Those 2 quaggans are the cutest. I support this.
I commonly seem to get the opposite, get stuck harvesting (most often in mining) and the animation continues even after the resources are depleted and I can’t press anything. Only fix is to relog the character.
If you haven’t gotten your bonus chest on previous attempts, are you maybe playing fresh alts/low-level characters? Characters under level 35 or 40 don’t get a bonus chest because there are no drop rares under that level.
I’d like them to be more multi-stage fights where you have to watch out for different things, something like Jormag would work, but I definitely do not want to see another Tequatl trainwreck. Sparkly on my server has become a ghost-town ever since that update.
The mantle is definitely pretty, but unfortunately it clips on most chars, be it cutting through hair or while moving. Why I tend to keep it hidden on my necro.
Working on any EU servers atm?
The armor skins in the gemstore can be converted for PvP use. When you initially apply to armor you are prompted with “Use Normally” and “Convert to PvP”. I imagine the latter would make it possible to deposit them in the PvP locker. So I say check there too, just in case.
It’s been bugged for a few weeks on RoS. Been waiting for a fix for a while now, as I have 2 characters unable to complete exploration of the zone because of this skill.
The loot for all world bosses is once per day per character. The bonus chest that appears in the corner is once a day per account. The only 2 options are to rotate between characters for these events (if you have multiple) or just settle for the xp and karma for completing the events.
I also strongly recommend using gw2stuff.com to know when world bosses are up to making better use of your time in-game. Just go out and have fun playing the game, the timers are accurate and you can get to events in time, no need to idle about and wait for them to start.
It’s the same system as the Black Lion claim ticket weapon skins, and I’m frankly more open to buy and convert gems to gold and buy on TP rather than risk gambling my money away and not get the item either. I wouldn’t do it for dyes because there’s a myriad of colors to mix & match already in the game, and the aforementioned gamblers are a bit excessive when it comes to dyes prices.
I’d buy them from gemstore if they sold them in packs, for 500-600 gems, where you get only these new dyes, account bound, if you want them. No gambling for single items with a pool of existing colors included and definitely not letting profiteers sell these for outrageous prices.
Beautiful leafy hair and I’ve always been a fan of sylvary medium armor, so a solid 9/10 from me (-1 because I’m not a fan of orange tones on armor)
And my little ele, in her level 40s atm
My warrior
Wearing: T2 cultural shoulders, Whispers chest, T1 cultural gauntlets, T3 cultural legs, basic white boots, all reskinned to exotic gear.
And lowbie thief (lvl 23)
Wearing: Krytan chest, Aetherblade medium legs, blue rarity lvl20 gloves and whispers boots. And the hidden thief hood.

Used and consumed on one character. Any new ones you make will have the same common hairstyles, colors & faces available at creation. You’d need a new total makeover kit for every subsequent character. But you really shouldn’t need one too often, the sliders and existing faces offer enough versatility for customization.
Here’s a tip I learned from a guildie a while back. Use one invisible bag in your inventory and keep minis in those slots. They’ll never get deposited, nor appear on sell window for vendors nor trading post.
I have one on each character, with a mini each and secondary armor set in there.
I can understand their desire to prompt players to join in WvW at least once to see what it’s like, but that could easily have been restricted to maybe the title “Been there, done that” since it basically says you’ve been everywhere in game and done all the tasks it has to offer, while keeping the Gift of Exploration to PvE maps alone. I honestly don’t care for a title, nor a coveted medal on my account no one can see, but I wanted the gift to craft my legendary.
Needless to say it took over a month to get the WvW maps completed, at odd hours (5-6am) when it was safer for what they apparently call a “roamer” to travel around. At peak hours it’s just little groups of 2-3 players camping vistas (I kid you not) that want to get a cheap kill out of explorers. It took me 2 weeks on that last 1%, for the one dreaded fort that was never under my server’s control.
The problem is not really WvW exploration but it’s timegated and beyond any individual player’s control. You depend too much on a group to conquer then unlock varying points of interest and vistas. I could only dream of some kind of booster npc in WvW like the one in cities granting speed buffs, this one would grant some neutral state on the battlefield for 15-30min, with something as silly as a white flag for an icon, where you can’t engage combat with players nor npcs you come across and vice-versa, you are granted access to p.o.i controlled by competing servers, in essence you can only explore.
The price is pretty steep plus considering it’s a facepaint I thought I’d be more suitable as a new exclusive total makeover kit addition that was available across all races. If one for the added bonus of seeing it under helms rather than replacing them altogether, plus the price would be more reasonable.
Many are still working on legendaries and considering the horrendous t6 mat drops, it’s safe to say buying them at a reasonable price helps quite a bit. That’s 250 for 1 legendary alone. Also I imagine a bunch are working on crafting through 500 for ascended armor, so they’ll probably need a few aswell.
I used to feel that way kodama, as in the past I got 5-key bundles and gotten 0 scraps for it. I think they might have upped the odds recently, a guildie got a full claim ticket the other day and this morning I opened 5 chests to receive 3 scraps, a hair kit and a mini-pack from BL chest on Sunday for getting my newest char through the level 10 quest. Might just be one lucky streak, will buy more when I can and see how it goes.
What you’re seeing in the store at the moment (with the exception of the Wintersday townclothes) is the permanent gemstore content. But they release a slew of new items every 2 weeks, usually tied in to the newest released Living Story content. We won’t see a game update until Jan. 21st, but hoping it will a big one, complete with unique gemstore additions, to start off the new year.
Frostgorge is bugged, or at least some servers have had issues there, on and off. I’m on RoS. Mobs don’t respawn properly in that map or have a very very long and usual timer. So the area has been pretty barren for the last month. Makes completing events difficult, where waves of attackers don’t spawn or even the pact golems during last phase of Jormag, but players are getting crafty with group heals and range dps to complete that one.
It’s running day and night on RoS aswell. Just waypoint somewhere, ask something as simple as “train?” and join the group. Chances are they’re all waiting on boar. They always are on my server at least.
It’s not getting done on RoS either. Tried it twice in early December but we lost NPCs to AoE puddles during Pact morale phase.
I recommend a bookmark on http://www.gw2state.com/temples.html and checking periodically to see if any of the bigger population servers have it open. On weekends there’s 3-4 open at the same time.
Karma got nerfed into the ground a few months ago. If you’re really curious about the details, just look up gw2 karma nerf and read away. I remember karma gains were more reasonable, I came into the game during invasions and banked a decent amount of karma I spent on temple gear, only to find myself now barely scrapping by with the little karma I get from world bosses, temples and dailies for obsidian shards to craft my legendary.
Karma gains are just that low currently, in the 2-digit numbers for starting areas like Wayfarer Foothills.
I can confirm Rainbow Sprint’s method works, but you will need a transmutation crystal from the gemstore at least for the initial transmutation, as all order equipment is lvl80. Can get a bit pricey to transmute a full set once to white to make account bound, then again to lvl80 exotic (or I guess now ascended too), but it pays off if you really like an order armor set.
There seems to be a mini Ho Ho Tron in the gifts going by Dulfy’s, but I imagine the drop rate must be very very low. No wonder it sells for over 40g on TP.
1. Which legendary are you going for?
Kudzu
2. Do you have any gifts? If so, which one?
Gift of Kudzu done, close on Gift of Mastery
3. Which gift are you working on? And how far have you come on it?
Gift of Mastery, only missing the obisidian shards.
I didn’t jump through any mesmer portals, just waited out the 30s countdown timer to be automatically taken to main Kessex.
I ended the tower with “logic” and got no credit and no tri-key chest. I used the portal when the 30 second timer started, am I supposed to stand there instead?
I believe you have to stay, at least from personal experience. I’ve done all 3 versions for the 3 achievements (mixed combat/puzzle, just puzzle, all combat) and got all. I stayed inside, countdown shows at 30, 15 and 5s respectively then proceeds to loading Kessex Hills, where a tower destruction cutscene plays and the achievement(s) pop up + reward.
I’d like an item that allows conversion of soulbound items to account bound status. I’d like to be able to bank items for other chars if I’m no longer using them on my main, after all some items may require a bigger investment.
Try again, using all lowercase characters in the form
See this thread for more information, it’s what solved the exact problem for me https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/account/Cannot-purchase-gems-with-credit-gift-cards
The fact that there were millions of the other materials around for quite some time after last Halloween most likely.
And those of us that weren’t here last Halloween are just supposed to deal with it?!
Yours might be a different issue than mine was, but you could try typing the form in all lowercases, that made payment go to through for me, albeit it was on Paypal

nvm, i retried both of them and worked if i kept everything lower case for my billing info. i copied and paste the numbers as i did before.
Thank you so much! I was having issues too for a while now, although with Paypal, but it never occured to me to try with all lowercase. And now it worked like a charm, thanks!
Ruins of Surmia is going for a big push tonight, 8pm GMT. If you’re familiar with Teq strategy, willing to participate in an organised run, and listen to commanders, you’re welcome.
I will let my guildies know. Thanks.
I would love for all previous events and achievements to be available, alongside with a whole new addition of festive events
This. All events. Christmas one too. I need those ridiculously overpriced snowflakes for crafting please!
I’m new to the forum and was trying to locate something only to find 3 months old problem and still no solution? Wow.
While I agree with you in some parts, I disagree with you on others. Manpower is not the issue with this encounter, otherwise overflows wouldn’t exist. Clearly a lot of people are motivated and want to embrace the challenge. But we don’t get to choose the people we land on a server with and we usually end up failing but not for lack of trying. I’ve been on turrets spamming 2 and 3 only to die twice to gangs of 5-6 risen pounding on me. Trying to support those front and center, but no one had my back to do my part in it. Tried fighting in front, dodging poison, fingers and bloaters but the back row wasn’t as efficient as the encounter makes it mandatory. Bone walls and time lost. Failed again.
It is an MMO and why really hard PvE content is ill-advised. All players have access to it, regardless of their nature (hardcore or casual gamer), of their spec, race, profession, gear level and contribution they bring to the team. While I absolutely hate carrying others in any sort encounter, this relies too much on community effort and you can’t account for a full 100+ group, when only 2/3 are actively participating (and that’s being generous). It needs to be taken down a bit in terms of difficulty or given more time (30 min like Jormag seems more reasonable) to give a smaller (active) group a fighting chance.
