Undo server linking

in WvW

Posted by: GWMO.4785

GWMO.4785

So with the recent wvw updates, more people are joining WvW. This causes (higher) queue’s. Which is quite an issue for …well everyone. I have been thinking about the pro’s and cons. And this is what i came up with:

Perhaps a better solution would be to actually undo the linking of the servers. This would drop the queue’s and there for people would have non or less waiting time to actually enter WvW. On the other hand this might cause problem in low(er) populated servers. How ever if we look at how many people play WvW since the patch, this shouldn’t must be a problem. Considering more people are willing to join and tag up. Sure you still have to deal with new players and all. But that is just a matter of time and going through that learning curve.

Would love to hear your opinion about it. Gimme some feedback

Give Eotm Pips!

in WvW

Posted by: GWMO.4785

GWMO.4785

Well, if EOTM is not WvW then being/playing there should never ever increased WvW ranks in the first place.

WvW rank should only (now, in the future and in the past) be gained in WvW.

But as long as you can (and could) gain WvW rank in EOTM, EOTM is part of WvW, regardless of what some devs say to justify their decisions and the inconsistent system.

It’s the EDGE of The Mists. Not the mists. So, it is NOT WORLD vs WORLD. It MAY be realm vs realm, but not world (i.e. Server) vs world. So.. no pips.

I would definitely support the removal of WvW rank gain from there.

Edge of the Mists is still within the mists. Cause edge. Get it? Its still within. Even better, ever opened your map? you’ll see that it is located on top left side of the map next to the other borderlands. Game play is also the same. So it IS WvW rather you like it or not. It’s just that players turned it into a karma farm festival / they use it to level up characters. Originally it was suppose to be a solution for overflow when your borders had queue’s.

Going back ontopic, I do agree with the majority here. Seeing EOTM’s current state, i do not think it would be healthy for the game mode if that gets the same reward structure as WvW itself.

But i suppose that is a bit off topic and better to create a new post about it. More about that here

I dont really mind if ANet leaves it out. But in such case they should update the discription on the hero weapons claimed from the reward track. Cause im clearly not the only one here

Now that the WvW tickets are available again, We can buy the Mistforged weapons along side many other things. Tho i did complete Hero weapon reward track several times to unlock some Hero skins for the hope i could get my hands on GoH later.

All of this was before the WvW update of course. The Gift of Heroes was before hand also available from the Battle Historian merchant. However since the update, the gift has been removed.

Regardless of the mistforged skins availability. I was curious if ANet forgot about the Gift of Heroes, or was it intended this way? I mean, i am pretty sure i’m not the only one in this position. And it would be nice to pay 200 ticket for just the gift rather than 350 for the mistforged skins themselves, while i still have the hero’s ones untouched stored in my bank.

Playing with Condi Mesmer...

GWMO.4785

Ah alright, in that case i would say go Viper instead of Trailblazer/Dire. Sigil wise you could go like earth and geomancy. Perhaps doom? Change the 6th rune to black diamond. The 6th bonus of Nightmare is not very useful in PvE. Other wise berserker or perplexity runes could work also. Keep an eye out for your duration tho. You dont want to go over 100%

Traits wise, i would swap Maim the Disillusioned for Phantasmal Haste. Torment doesn’t do that much since mobs do not move often, as where you will get dps increase if your phantasms attack more often.

For skills you’re pretty much settled, mainly just passive effects of signets. Tho feedback and Moa signet are situational and can be swapped to something else if wanted/needed.

And last but not least, definitely go for Rare Veggie Pizza & Toxic Focusing Crystal combo. Basically the best food/nourishment for every condi build.

Yup – this is a condi build. I know a lot of people love staff, but I really prefer this setup.

Having scepter mainhand always means 20% faster casts for everything (including recharging the mantra). The block on the shield is great for surviving and generating phantasms (and combined with chronophantasma and persistence of memory, that means faster recharge on iMage who’s actually one of the most damaging parts of the build). I also find Tides of Time very handy when fighting thieves.

Well staff gives you some utility as well as a fast escape, so staff is really good for that matter. Also i see that you’re using balthazar runes. Why even? I mean i get that your phantasmal mage does burning, but your main conditions are confusion and torment. Both very strong in a competitive scene. Rune like Perplexity would be so much of a better choice for you. Also perhaps swap draining sigil for doom.

Mesmer / Chrono rota reaally hard to learn

in Mesmer

An easier way would be to go 100% boon duration without the concentration sigil. This way you would only have to focus on a rotation that exists out of 4 skills: Tides of Time > Echo of Memory > Well of Action > Signet of Inspiration. Tho this would require you to run nearly full concentration stats, and there for you would loose out on damage. However if you run with pugs this could be a lot easier duo to easy rotation and being tanky.

Guardian is the new Revenant

GWMO.4785

For example, scepter doesn’t pierce, retaliation is hard to keep up for the 10% damage buff, light fields screw up more important fields such as fire, chill and water. Not to even mention all the benchmarks being done with the unrealistic trait of Unscathed Defender which only work in niche situations. More importantly, like I mentioned in my previous post, Guardian doesn’t bring anything to the party that other players could benefit from.

This was already the case before the patch. so nothing changes there. Also guardian can bring fury and protection. How useful that is, is dependent on how well the player is as well as group composition ofc.

Staying at range isn’t all that great. You’ll lose all the buffs you get from staying in melee with the group. You will lose out on might, Grace of the Lands and other short range buffs which will also significantly impact your DPS output. With a decent Druid you won’t have to worry too much about the damage you get from standing in melee.

Staying at X range MOSTLY. I did not say that you can or should stay on the other side of the arena or so. Given that you only need to be on the boss for Whirling Wrath and Binding Blades. You can execute remaining gs skills as well as traps in melee range. Followed by scepter at higher range. Again not saying that you should be on the other side of the surface. But you can take a bigger range while still benefiting from the shared boons and buffs.

One guy posts something, and the whole world goes “brain /off, ill go along with it”. Is that it? That’s how limited you are? Let me brake it down to y’all. Also grab a power supply and connect it to your brains. Seems you lack to energy to think. You’re going to need it anyway

First my forward to the guys and guilds, that do put the effort of testing / sharing the benchmarks and scoreboards. I really appreciate it. No joke.

Now the part where you hook up the power supply and switch it on: What you people don’t get is that these benchmarks are done ON A STILL STANDING GOLEM. Read that again. Realize what i am saying, im serious. In a real scenario, there are more elements at play. Yes you will deal less damage, but so will anyone else. The only difference is that guardian… or dh to be more specific will have LESS dps uptime loss. Again dps UPTIME loss. not the total damage. This duo to how the class or build functions in comparison with others. As we all know in a real scenario you have to dodge, (re)position yourself, foes moves also, and all of this goes at cost of your damage. Guardian has less problem with this duo to the fact that it can stay at ranged for like 70% of the time. I mean lets be honest, you only need to on the boss when you swap to GS and lay traps. For the remaining time you can stay at X range. You have to deal less with dodging and repositioning. Other classes will have to do this more often. So all of that combined guardian will pretty much deal similar damage if not perhaps a bit higher even IN A REAL SCENARIO in comparison with its party/squad members.

Unless you are that perfect player that does everything without a single mistake ofc. But lets be honest. How many of those do we have here? There is a difference between successful (speed)kill in X time and executing everything 100% perfect.

Absurd burst

in Mesmer

Posted by: GWMO.4785

GWMO.4785

Here is where the magic happens and work synergistic:

Domination:
- Illusion of vulnerability: inflict vulnerability (3 stacks) when you interrupt your foe
- Confounding Suggestion: dazing a target applies a stun
- Dazzling: dazing a foe adds vulnerability (5 stacks)
- Fragility: Deal more damage for each stack of vulnerability on your target by 0,5%
- Mental Anguish: 15% more damage from shatter. 30% when target is not using skills.

Illusion:
-Shattered Strenght: might per shattered illusion
- Master of Fragmentation: Mind wreck has increased 10% critical strike chance

Now there are obviously more traits, but these are the key parts. To brake it down. This is what happens when you play it properly: you apply kitten ton of vulnerability. you get additional 0,5% damage PER stack. you gain multiple might stacks. more damage increase. and a final additional 10% critical chance on the final blow with mind wrack.

Now this is a super bursty power lock build. So you would go full berserker with air/fire sigil and scholar runes. which is also additional damage on top of 10% more from 6th bonus of rune: increased damage while health is above 90%. And all of that happens within a few seconds. So yeah. literately a glass cannon.

Switching from GS: hammer or sword?

in Guardian

Posted by: GWMO.4785

GWMO.4785

Go for hammer if you lack some sustaining, third attack on aa chain gives you protection which you can upkeep if quickness is provided.

Scepter is good for high tier fractals since you can range more without/barely giving up dps. Gives you more room to play incase people are stacking up and ticking agony instability. Otherwise i would say sword duo to fury and projectile blocks.

Torch is your most damaging offhand weapon. So go for that when ever you can. However if you need blocks or more sustain, you can try focus or shield even. That being said focus used to be good duo to its blast finisher, triggering retaliation. However blasting in light fields now applies condi cleanse. so not sure if focus is any good outside the blind on mobs and personal blocking. Shield is in that sense a bit more group supportive since it gives protection and projectile blocks, as well as a minor heal when you detonate shield of absorption while channeling.

How are mesmers in PUG dun/frac groups?

in Fractals, Dungeons & Raids

Posted by: GWMO.4785

GWMO.4785

A CHRONO in a dung/frac is really a team buffer. Given the fact that the player knows how to upkeep quickness and alacrity. However i noticed that most cant do this, or dont even know what they are doing. I have seen alot of chrono players that barely provide quickness/alacrity. And some even just camp greatsword and aa the keks out stufff ..which is sad to see. So in that sense i would prefer another dps slot.

That being said a second chrono is a dps loss. so try to avoid that. core mesmer… i sepose that is accepted if the player is condi geared. otherwise dont even bother

Why is sword the "best" PvE offhand?

in Mesmer

Posted by: GWMO.4785

GWMO.4785

Phantasmal Swordsman (offhand sword phantasm) is your phantasm that does the most damage on a single target, duo to its combo of damage and how frequent it attacks. So in that sense you will have the highest dps by having 3 of those up. However that’s on a single target.

On multi target/cleaving, your Phantasmal Warden (focus phantasm) will do more damage since it can cleave multiple mobs. Also the fact that you have a pull as well reflect with it if traited. This counts for both your phantasm as well as Temporal Curtain.

Mimic Boonshare Guide

in Mesmer

Posted by: GWMO.4785

GWMO.4785

The build was designed around zerg fights in WvW. It’s for these situations where you find yourself in a party no stability and being moved back to your original subsquad each time you protest that I recommend running Mantra of Concentration. The crucial thing about those three stacks of stability is that you have a small buffer from the ICD on stability removal to start your rotation. Revenant runes will also come in handy if you find yourself dying to conditions.

I tried the Mantra of Concentration. But i am personally not too keen on it duo to its long channeling time combined with the cooldown. Nor can i upkeep it myself.

Honestly I couldn’t ever imagine running boonshare mesmer in an unorganized pug blob. Boonshare mesmer is so heavily reliant on the input from other classes to really shine. It can do ok on it’s own, but if you’re trying to solo pump out boons you’re just not going to be efficient compared to getting seeded by an ele, guard, and rev.

Honestly it does pretty good as long as that stability is provided by 2 guardians. Which a subsquad ussualy has in a pug blob. But yeah as mentioned before. I or mesmer gets mostly paired up with backline or other stuff. And in those cases i swap my build to what i posted earlier here

Mimic Boonshare Guide

in Mesmer

Posted by: GWMO.4785

GWMO.4785

Have you tried this in a pug zerg fights in WvW? Personally i don’t have a WvW guild. So the best i can do is run a boonshare build in a pug zerg. However the problem i have here is that mesmer does not get prioritized for the frontline. So with that the commander or the one that manages the squad puts me in the backline subsquad. With eles, and/or other random stuff. And this renders the boonshare kinda useless since i cant be in the frontline duo to lack of stability. Which forces me to mainly camp gs or staff and play a build like this

in Mesmer

Really just breakbar CC while still doing some quickness and alacrity, Chronos make too much of it so they can afford to swap an elite.

Nada, The group (party or squad) ussually has enough cc already. Rather you take Gravity well/Moa Signet or not. It’s true that chrono can keep up quickness without Time Warp. But the reason is duo to slight personal dps increase.

However as @DuckDuckBOOM said. That is in an ideal situations. Which doesn’t always happens. So in that sense i personally like to take timewarp in case i cant manage to upkeep quickness duo to w/e the reason.

I could buy an entire commander’s set to ease up on the strictness of the skill usage, but there’s no way I’m spending 700+ gold on another armor set for a build that I fundamentally hate playing.

Utility food: 10%
Leadership runes: 30%
Concentration sigil: 33%
Boon food: 20%
Platinum doubloon in backpiece and 1 accessory: 8%

Congratulations, you’ve hit 98% duration while wearing full zerker gear.

See, the problem all your complaints is that you’re factually wrong about every single one. You’re trying to make a point with false data, so you’re just ending up off the mark from the very start.

Basically this. Additionally fractals has also the potion which gives you another 15% duration. So you could ditch out the platinum doubloon, accessory as well as the (expensive) bountyfull sharpeningstone there. Or perhaps another combo. As long as your duration is above 90%. Cause that is what it takes to upkeep quickness. Given you dont use CS with Timewarp combo. If so you even need less. (~50%).

I don't want to support. What else is there?

in Mesmer

Posted by: GWMO.4785

GWMO.4785

Back before I left, quickness sharing was easy and fun, and I could do it while still having some semblance of personal damage. Playing power chrono was the best thing in the world. A few updates to the signet and quickness stacking later, now playing power chrono is the worst thing in the world. I went ahead and bought the leadership runes and the sigil and the boon duration food, tried it out, and found it to be utterly pathetic

I dont get what you mean. Chronomancer playstyle is basically still the same. Your rotation is just slightly changed after SoI rework. Rather then stacking up all the quickness and share that out, you now have to apply it bit by bit over a longer period of time. Which in general has a basic fundamental rotation: Tides of time > Echo of memory > Well of action > SoI

Before I had a “chrono burst” where I could summon a bunch of phantasms, drop a few wells, maybe illusion spam and shatter for AoE damage. The sustained DPS was low, but in the short term I could explode. Short term was all I needed. With the new build, I found it nearly impossible to navigate tangled depths, because all of my equipment was dedicated to helping out other people.

Considering you have been playing mesmer in open world, i assume you have quite some time spend in the class and have multiple gear sets for the class. Of which one would be a berserker set. Using a build like this works just fine in open world. Just spam your shatters and well of recall to get alacrity for faster recharge. Dunno i never had trouble getting my way around mobs and all. Sure less damage compared to other classes but still alright.

In groups, it was still pretty bad. The reason is simple: I don’t have a premade set of friends who are good at the game to adventure with. I get random pugs most of the time, and even if I dedicate myself to spreading alacrity and quickness, all I get is more point-blank shot spam. If even that, since they’re somehow extremely frail yet extremely feeble, I’ll be rezzing and dealing with players out of range.

I for one have been maining mesmer since chrono. Im mostly pugging fractals. Using a “slight” different boonshare build compared to meta. Most importantly swapped illusion out for domination for blurred inscriptions. A well timed SoI can save the party, cause pugs. you never know how good or bad they are.

The boon sharing chrono build is good… if you’re surrounded by max spec’d competent players. Otherwise, any advantage gain from alacrity and quickness to a group is less than swapping to Ele or Thief and simply doing higher personal damage. The rotation is a complicated mess where I have to keep track of several hidden cooldowns to maximize boon duration and signet usage, and if I mess up once performance drops off a cliff. The build is not fun to play and is generally terrible.

False, Chrono can do more then quickness and alacrity, so in that sense it depends on how you equip it. Im swapping my setup depending on encounter and group to get the maximum out of it (no i dont have to give up on quickness, alacrity and boonshare). also:

basic fundamental rotation: Tides of time > Echo of memory > Well of action > SoI

The worst part about all this is, this is the mandatory way to play mesmer. There are no other “viable” specs. Even in full personal DPS builds, the damage is laughable compared to other classes. We wouldn’t have such a problem if a personal DPS build had damage on par, but we don’t even get that option. It’s either quickness spam or go home, so I took the latter option and don’t play mesmer anymore.

Well there is the condi build that seems to be dealing great damage on a few raid bosses. But i mean what is viable? The class shines greatly in being supportive and outside raids or fractals you can pretty much run anything you like. As such i can combine dozens of builds depending on what and how i want to roll. Dont ask me how or what cause i wont post it. That’d be a whole list of builds…

Seriously, Anet, would it really be so bad if the sword and greatsword auto attacks did meaningful damage?

Stay tuned for next expansion :P That seems to be looking into the dps of mesmer. All tough that is nothing more then speculation. And we’re looking at axe instead of buffing gs or sword as well aperantly

Unlike other people that see those skins as just white textured minor glowing skins, i have a different approach. Mesmer is creating clones, and in the art style also illusionairy weapons. I like to take that idea, and basically see the chaos skins as a form of “energy” of which the mesmer can manipulate and disposal as how he/she pleases

Yes plz. That would be better then the few seconds of slow. …i think. Hybrid DH uprising?

It had 1200 range but it was generally impossible to hit anything with it at that range. Not that I think DH was a remotely good elite spec.
Elite specs really shouldn’t be there to bump something up to “top tier”. Although if the trend of condition guardians being within the top 50 pvpers is true, it already is top tier.

The HoT Elite specs were intended to be superior over the core class. So in that sense its only natural that it jumps to “top tier”

Also scepter was/is quite slow… well your aa attack is faster but the orbs move pretty slowly. I dont find it much useful for pvp/wvw outside the condi build. Even before HoT my setup was like gs – sw/focus or shield depending on what i was up against.

This topic is basically a proceed of a conversation. However in order to prevent it from derailing i created this topic. Feel free join as well as post your own thoughts and idea’s.

Guardian does already have access to frequent burning. Adding a condi spec specialization will bring serious balance issues to guardian. Maybe not in Pve, but i can definitely see it happening in PvP and WvW.

I can see this being an issue in PvP and WvW. But as we’ve seen in recent updates Anet has been balancing class skills for specific modes, I’m sure they can tone down it’s damage and balance in such a way that can make it viable but not too strong in PvP/WvW (i.e. tuning down burn damage given by specialization).

I dont see it becoming a problem in WvW because of the same reason the current burn guardian isn’t a threat, and, though decent its not the favored build. The lack of varied conditions makes it pretty easy to shut down the burning. Though builds that carry absolutely zero condi clear would see it as a big problem. Compare it to thief or mesmer condition wise and they will still have the upper hand since most condi clear skills dont allow you to remove all conditions, and having varied kinds would make it harder to cleanse.
I get what you mean with the burn stacks going up to fast but as Phantom said, that can be toned down in different game modes as they have been doing so far.
That said, im not an expert in pvp :P

Hmm.. I have been thinking about (proper) tuning condi guardian in PvP or WvW. But i still think this would be problematic. Ill show where i am going with this as i explain my point of view.

First i’ll say that i find condi guardian interesting myself. So in that regard i can honestly say that i have one myself using this setup (WvW variation, my PvE version is slightly different). I have been testing it on the Golem in the testing area at Aerodrome in Lions Arch. I didn’t note down the exact numbers behind it. But i can tell that i had stable burn stacks from 5 all the way up to ~15 when spiking. Doing an average dps around 15k.

In direct comparison you would look at the condi war which does WAY more damage. But there is an important difference that needs to be addressed. Warrior does its burning damage by his weapon / burst aoe skills. Guardian does PASSIVE burning frequently. And this where the problem relies. Here is why:

Yes this can be counter played with condi removal. But that barely changes anything. I have been fighting condi guardians/dh’s in wvw more often. The condi spec tends to be more populair lately. The problem i find with that spec is that i usually get to know if my opponent is condi geared AFTER i get the burn spike. As where fighting other classes i can usually see that beforehand by the equipped weapons. For guardian this does not matter cause again, burning is mostly a passive effect. Using condi removal is nice but 2 seconds later he has reapplied it to you. so not that much of a use.

Now realize what a new condition based elite specialization would mean on top of what i just explained. That would basically boost it up by adding more conditions or increasing the burning aspect of the class of what it is already capable of. Don’t get me wrong. I’m not saying that Anet shouldn’t/can’t. I just believe that guardian needs someone kind of rework as in how burning functions for the class combined with careful tuning for future condition based spec.

Nice idea.. tho i do not think Anet will make weapons compatible by equipping it in another set. Pretty sure duel handed will always remain duel handed, main as main and offhand as offhand. Tho i do see possibilities in spear and trident becoming a territorial weapon.

That being said guardian does already have access to frequent burning. Adding a condi spec specialization will bring serious balance issues to guardian. Maybe not in Pve, but i can definitely see it happening in PvP and WvW.

You’ll have to do with toys like the magic carpet or the broom. Take a mini as well and you’re “good to go”

..no thanks. Looking cool is achieved in a way of how a character itself looks. I’m not talking about making it a giant cluster kek by carrying as much as legendaries and aura’s as you can. But rather having an original setup where each part compliments the other in both armor, weapons, dyes and possible a fitting backitem.

Quickest way to level a character?

If you’re a new player i would suggest to take it slow. and try everything out. build up that experience, and see what class, build, playstyle or even the environment (pve, pvp, wvw) suites you. Explore around and learn mechanics. In short learn what the game as to offer.

If you’re a veteran and you know all of that. But you just look for a fast way to level up an alt character(s). Then i have a couple suggestion:

- Do your pvp and wvw dailies! They drop tomes of knowledge. (Fractal drop them too but that seems to be more rng based)
- Buffs: Practically already usable from level 1. the more/faster xp you can gain. the better: Booster, Food, Nourishment, Lucky New Year Firework. Yes you heard it right. keep that up at all times.

I don’t feel like I’m ‘Supposed’ to do anything. I picked mesmer because I liked the fantasy of creating illusions and being hard to pin down, and instead what Anet has done is make me a pseudo support with no value aside from one buff.
kitten it, I quit then.

I did not say that you are sepose to do it. It is just what everyone expects you to do so duo to how great the class is at it. Im just saying that i personally don’t like it if i or someone else in my party is basically just leecher. We where talking about high(er) tier fractals after all. Some group coordination/support is needed and appreciated.

You still get to create your illusion. Heck these are even needed in order to be effective. You can still shatter. People just expect you to do in in such a way where you can upkeep quickness duo to how great the class is at it.

I dont think you understand the beauty of the class tho. You’re talking about the class having no value aside from an one buff, but mesmer can do so much more aside quickness. It just so happens that the sustained damage is low compared to other classes. So that is not a thing.

I for one have been maining mesmer since release chronomancer with HoT. And will all honestly, i can tell you that mesmer is by far the most diversive class in the game. Im adjusting my build, rather that is traits, gear, skill or weapons depending on the encounter as well group setup. So please.. dont say the class has no value outside that one buff. Again mesmer is well capable of doing so much more than then. I’d encourage you to (re)discover the class. And understand the true beauty of it

What class can efficiently use Knight stats?

in Fractals, Dungeons & Raids

GWMO.4785

There is not really a class that uses knight stats specifically. However WvW players do tend to mix toughness and/or vitality in their gear set. Although this is usually a mixture of two or more kind of stats. And not a full set of of a single stat type.

That being said as @ProtoGunner said you can change stat on your ascended gear using the Mystic Forge

You can swap stats with the Anthology of Heroes, it’s pretty cheap. Check this out: https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Anthology_of_Heroes

In terms of staying up to date with builds and all. You can check out Metabattle.com or qTfy.eu to see what is effective in what scenario. That being said. Unlike most people that just copy paste something. I would recommend you to dive into the class/build and see what it is capable of, and how you can make alternative changes on lets say depending on the encounter/group composition.

Dungeons

GWMO.4785

Ill call it out right here. Dungeons are a thing in the past

Anet did say so themselves more or less. So in that sense they probably wont change anything in the current dungeons that are already in game. Rather that is fixing bugs, or “balance” encounter or w/e. But that also means they wont add any new dungeons either. So in short they are left behind in the dust.

In terms of endgame content Anet is focusing on fractals and raids. Tho even that is not really clear how it’s exactly going to happen. Raid was suppose to be that ultimate challenging content. However duo to complaining players the overall difficulty has been more or less reduced in the later added raid (wings). Allowing more casual players to do raids. As where those who seek the challenge is the challenge mode.

And same kinda happened to fractals. Very doable by average people. But who want/like the challenge can do 100cm. Kinda like a 5 man raid. I personally think Anet should have left scale 100 at normal mode. and a tier 5 for fractals. However this should be just one for each type of fractal and come with a (more) difficult challenge mode. Like how 100cm is right now. but each fractal has its own scale and challenge for it.

Gifting Gems

Yes, gifting Gem Card is ‘legit’, just as is gifting the game to someone. You can purchase a Gem Card and either physically give it to another player, or send them the Gem Card code.

Good luck.

So if we put that in perspective, we have retailers that sell gemcards for the game, of which the developers (aka Anet) does not even provide on the website..

Doesnt make much sense now does it?

There are a couple ways you can approach this “problem”. Depending on what you want and how far you"re (not) willing to go, you might find that sweet spot. So what do i meanby this?

Lets get a few things straight first. In solo content you can use whatever you feel like. No one is judging you on that one. So thats fine. Which brings you to group content. Well you already said that you dont whant to go in that supportive direction. So we can straight up say that you will be practically useless. A leecher if you will.

BUT because this is gw2, there isn’t really a right or wrong. That being said, you could just play group instances in full berserker mode and auto attack the keks out of everything or or play condition build. Whatever you want. But be warned that you may get kicked for doing so. Again, there is a chance. Not saying its 100% guaranteed.

But in the end. The qeustion will always remain: Would you appreciate it? I personally would feel bad for not doing what i am sepose to do. Nor do appreciate it if someone else in my party/squad wouldnt give any keks. I didnt kick them out (yet). But yeah, one should contribute to the group support one way or the other. If the player cant deliver that, then he/she may as well stay away in my opinion

I was curious how i could do that. Doing some research i found older posts that explain that i cant do this straight up. I know i can gift gemstore items instead. But that is not what i am after. Looking further, i saw that retailers do sell gemcards. Kinda like giftcards in a physical store, with a code that grands gems on redeeming. However i was wondering if that is even legit? Considering GW2’s website does not sell it themselves in the first place.

Why mesmer weapons are so wimpy?

in Mesmer

GWMO.4785

Thief can appear from shadows and instantly spike you down. Warrior can leap on top of you. Necromancers have awesome death shroud and spinning scythes. Staff mesmer? Putt….putt….putt. -_-

Saying this i sepose you look at it from a pvp/wvw perspective. Boring maybe, but there are other options available. For example you can go for a glasscannon bursty build. I believe it was called “powerlock down”. Executing perfectly means basically 1 shotting your enemy, do it wrong and you’re pretty much doomed to die.
