Having upgraded structures count as more points is another huge advantage to the off hour coverage. It’s much harder to upgrade alpine now and the larger server stuff is almost constantly T3 since the other servers are on their heels with wooden structures going into prime.
It’s funny how people try to defend desert now. There was a reason that no one played them previously. The desert map sucks. The player numbers don’t lie.
Well I thought they sucked until they made the changes to it, which we only got 2 weeks of so many didn’t even give the update a chance, but hey whatever. Double wall them keeps and hide a blob in the tower and camp to guard those trebs hitting inner and outter bay.
If you have to start from Citadel the time it takes to get to an objective is not really faster… It’s just most people took slow ways and not the faster paths to get to side keeps, didn’t use the back entrances to the south or north towers, the walking time isn’t that much faster. BUT there is more space around the outside of “Bay” and “hills” along with the north towers. More tweaking needs to be done with the DBL, but I still prefer DBL as its not doubt cata spot on every Keep while the enemy isn’t looking, especially when primeitme isn’t going. Also it takes ages to upgrade keeps on Alpine… its ridiculous
Well, sometimes the best duels are random encounters it’s not like most of them are planned. Usually can tell by allies guild tag, look, playstyle whether or not its a duel or god plz help me. I will help if needed/wanted or sometimes I’ll stay to watch. If I’m dueling and someone interrupts I’ll let them know and if they continue depending on my mood I usually just hope the other guy downs them or sometimes I’ll just say whatever screw their bunker build kitten em up I ain’t got time for this lol
Yawn, hate Alpine…realize why I hated it in the first place… KTrain to the max setup. Even less effort to cap every objective making off hours even worse than before… A million dollies to get a wp in a keep makes you have to babysit the BL even more than before during off hours. I play many off hours and just said screw it for tonight cuz this crap stinks.
I remember why I hate alpine. Especially during off hours, it is a ktrain map. DBL took a little more effort so you didn’t have to baby sit as hard as alpine.

You are still going to get points just not these thousands upon thousands you would before. Even if they reduced the gain 50% you can still get 10-20k point swings……………………for PvDing everything with basically no one or no one defending
Should we also remove points per kill during primetime? Afterall, there are more players and more points up for grabs then.
That is a terrible comparison. PPK is a small percentage of overall score. On top of that the kill differences makes it even less substantial as most of the points negate each other.

I’m an off-hour player many times and, yes it needs fixing. Because I can take at time 5 ppl and get a 500+ tick for hours is ridiculous. 20-40k pt swings in the primetime populations night/morning is ridiculous. So yes it should be marginalized in someway, but you are still going to contribute to the score just not by absurd amounts liek is happening now.
The Desert BL is vastly improved and have been non stop action and fights during prime. They aren’t that bad.
Seeing a lot more lower ranks in WvW as well from the new reward system hype as well (I’m assuming)

I like the fine tuning we can do with actual gear. Stuffing everything into amulets is too simplified for wvw. Wvw not really meant to be even. You run something…maybe meta maybe not…and tweak all the little details until they work for some of your favorite wvw situations. You get blown up a few times and either adjust a little, change everything or go full meta.
I would love having separate armor/weapons/trinkets for wvw though. I would actually love 3 or 4 armor sets that we could switch in and out of while out of combat and full hp.
Carrying stuff for pve, wvw, raid/dungeon/fractal is a pain.
This ^^. Having different armor sets that you can switch! Cramming my inventory full oh stuff I don’t always use is a waste. This whole making WvW gear like spvp no thanks. Also exotic gear isn’t that much of a disadvantage as ascended and can be easily bought (not every type) with badges and very little gold… that are salvageable now.

Not sure Lathus, my chill duration is like 88-90% increased duration depending on food with my Grenth runes and sigils on weapons. Perma chill and all the other conditions…with 29k health and 23k lifeforce I can basically watch most melt in front of me using just Staff and shroud.
Maybe I’m missing something but even if you can chill bomb and get Chill trait DoT … the damage from it is pretty crap. You get more damage from Bleed on Crit. Is chill a serious condi damage build with Reaper? I don’t see it. What are the traits that make this build happen? Reaper all mid and ??
How do you know that exactly? I see damage ticks on chill for somewhere around 800-1200 per second depending on condition damage / buffs. Barbed precision is only 1 stack of 3 seconds of bleed which is quite marginal and there are probably better sigils you can put in a weapon set then sigil of earth.
What part of the reaper traits is giving 800-1200 DPS? You need 2000 Condi damage to achieve 800 DPS with deathly Chill; that’s almost the top of realistically gotten Condi damage. I don’t really know what you need to do to get another 400 damage from Dealthy chill but that’s moot anyways … that damage is pretty sad compared to the level of bleeding a dedicated bleed build can give AND it costs you a whole traitline to get it. In addition, if your not using GS, you’re loading your other traits and skills just to get access to chill.
I’m probably outvoiced here but … for the investment you need, chill damage sucks … but that of course isn’t the point of how chill works in a Reaper build anyways. Reaper is no doubt, better as a power build. As condi build, at best, it’s a mediocre one.
Because chillomancer builds stack might fairly well and vulnerability

With the change in upgrading system just turn the kitten thing off. Everything used to be T3 almost automatically, it’s not the case anymore…it’s really no longer needed. Zergs finish the event in less than 4 minutes if no one tries to stop them… OP to the max.
or why should us EU daytime players have privileges over anyone else’s timezone? what is prime time for us isn’t prime time for others, it is what it is, if you dont have players playing at what is our night time that is just unlucky cant have 1 rule for one and another for others
Why? Because the server clearly states that it’s an EU server when you choose it. That’s why.
But whilst I’m not entirely in agreement with the OP, I think he has an interesting idea in a “vulnerability window” like the Crowfall devs have talked about.
So i happen to know several people that live in EU and are on EU servers and due to real life circumstances there play time is not EU prime time, now they aren’t allowed to play exactly same way as we all are just because you have gone to bed? seems fair….
as others have stated, if your server doesn’t have a “night-shift” that is just unlucky for your server or any others that don’t.
And also being in EU servers it does not state anywhere you HAVE to play a certain time to contribute to your servers scoreSo some entire servers have to suffer because a few people on nightshifts want to PvE all of the the maps. Seems fair.

First off, it’s only been a few days. Secondly, I don’t see people claiming camps and slotting things that upgrade dolyaks. If they did, speedy dolyaks and double deliveries would make the upgrade process 4x faster. People are still K-training, not leaving scouts, and not having roaming parties to keep the camps and yaks secure.
So, protect your camps.

So again upgrades hidden behind pve etc have to be used to upgrade a structure in a reasonable amount of time. Sounds pretty freaking stupid. Oh and those upgrades cost gold so I think I’d rather just go back to paying for my structure upgrades

Yep. We should be comparing things to Pre-HoT upgrades. With that in mind, the dolyak numbers aren’t all that bad, I remember it took really work and a long time to get anything to T3.
problem is we had extra workers and double supply on camps to speed up the upgrades. If you did that and controlled the camps it didn’t take that long. With the size of the map now (and the routes available to you) it takes longer to try to hold objectives, get to camps, etc.
it definitely is on the other spectrum now I feel. We will see with time, but 40 dollies to get those side keeps to T2 structure seems rather excessive.
If the first upgrade was something like delivering 10 yaks… or even something like 8. Then doubling supply effect like it used to be and then the yaks counted as 2 I would like the system better and then swiping camps would be even more useful. Still think the overall number of yaks needs to be lowered some.
The new system is just messed up. Anet are not WvW players and just through out randoom numbers without having any logical thinking to rationalize their decision

i think your values are still too high. Old system 20 dollys without double supply to a keep would be 1400 supply… with 1400 supply now you can get cannons and oil…wow. 2800 supply to get t2 with some mortars… just insane when you think about how long it takes to get 40 dollies in even without having to worry about people capping camps. I will say the old system was too short but now this is too long imo. Will we find a happy medium only time will tell…

The inner pillar type walls in Fire keep can have kittenhoot thru the upper portion in order to get enoguh power to hit inner walls. I’m not talking about the pillar space I’m talking above the open space you can jump thru.

Bell choir net 180~216 presents per hour, depending on the wait time.

180 per hour would take completion every 6min 1st song to last without stopping. Good luck with that. So 120 per hour from my original post is probably more what people will get. Loading time, getting into instances that are already complete etc, waiting for other players. Either way, Snowball mayhem rewards are a joke.

To keep trying to give some sort of importance to fights and kills in WvW is a terrible idea in my opinion. It encourages fights over strategy and made WvW what it was before HoT, a map full of zerg only looking for a fight, and GvG, making the whole purpose and the huge possibilities of the gamemode useless. And it promotes even more numbers over quality.
Discourages many smaller groups from engaging as well. Also why hold the circle and sacrifice when you’re giving more points away. Newer guild trying to learn to fight together… giving away more points. upscales… more discouragement as they are free points.
Ok, well I’m okay with the changes for the most part. However when I’m rezzing a dead ally after a fight and that pesky PVE creature starts attacking me, it’s going to annoy the hell out of me even more than before.

It’s the upgrade system that is completely flawed. Basically I hung up my GW2 other than getting my daily because WvW is garbage.
It takes 6 hours for an objective to fully fortify if you make sure no yaks get to it. I haven’t done the maths, but I believe if an objective gets the max number of yaks possible it cuts that time in half? Or maybe less?
If you have absolutely no roamers or havoc groups taking any camps on your BL and sniping yaks and trying to retake towers and keeps, then yes you will come back to fortified objectives on your own BL. But this was true even before auto upgrade and has nothing to do with it.
Now the +5 complaint I fully agree with. Level 37 is way too high for something basic that should be available by level 10 or 15. 20 maybe at the highest if they don’t want to see a lot of one man guilds putting +5 on everything.
Your first part is not true as enemies didn’t sit in every single objective to upgrade it. It also took longer as the upgrades used supply and rarely could you keep every objective with constant supply, especially towers. Also with the new layout sniping yaks is quite the hastle since they move fast and you have to run around a bunch of crap to get to them.
The +5 thing waste of time, it’s a joke.
The home node can give 5 regular on one strike and it sometimes gives a charged quartz as well.

And yea, it sometimes give a charge quartz but that will not ease the demand for quartz crystal. The crystal will continue to climb in price because there is a lot of demands for it. Not just guild hall, you need it for celestial as well but of course, Guild Hall is the primary demand now and since is Guild Hall we are talking about here, it will need a lot of charge quartz.
Now charge quartz worth about 2.5g, won’t be surprise to see it worth 10g eventually.
I mean hitting it once so you could get up to the equivalent of 33 quartz in a day from the home instance.
You can also get quartz as part of the map bonus system. For this week that is Timberline Falls.
I mine it everyday from my instance, I don’t remember seeing that much, I don’t ever get surplus. Are you mining with full boost or something?
I’ve never gotten 30+, 15 sure even one got 2 charged.
Then there will be even less players because, hell no I’d quit playing
