I don’t think you realize how much the tiers have changed since the time of free transfers. Borlis Pass has an NA population incredibly similar to Ehmrys. I still consider Ehmry’s NA mid to low t4.

Let me explain the issue I have with BP:

1) You guys have the night time population of a high t4/ low t3 server
2) Your NA population is very similar to Ehmrys (Mid to low t4)

You should be destroying this tier but instead are being destroyed. When you (Borlis) decides to attack, you use the most plain methods possible. Be it either golem rushing or attacking when there is no opponent. You don’t use trick play, coordination of several attacks on different objectives, or even ninja attempts. Just like last reset on Ehmry borderlands, all you did was bounce between the different keeps hoping something would work. I consider that terrible gameplay.

We on Ehmry respect those who are good. Whether it is ADQQSTY who will beat the kitten out of you or Maguuma of old whose coordination of their whole server was downright scary. Borlis Pass just does not have much going for it.

It is going to be funny when Crystal Desert comes down to t5 and nullifies BP’s only advantage.

There are 6 trebs there. 4 of them can’t hit anything while the other 2 are so far forward, they can be hit by ballista. This happened after we ninjad your fully upgraded bay during NA Primetime. If you don’t want us to call you bad, then stop being bad.

I have seen a fully upgraded keep go down in less than 5 minutes. Garrison: Outer water gate down in ~1 minute, inner gate down in 10 seconds. captured a minute later.

Those are the main 2 really showing it properly.

In the first video the waypoint is not contested. The white swords are not on the blue keep icon.

It could also be that you killed the keep lord and did not bother to re-contest after repel went off. Also, the only way to know if a keep is contested if if the keep symbol has the contested swords. Enemy waypoints will always appear contested to you.

I never complained about EB in our forum matchups because I like their style on the forums and on the field. As far as [GH], I defended them when they were getting trakittenalked in another matchup thread.

I don’t typically complain about portal bombs. We do that from time to time ourselves, we typically handle them quite well, and it’s good to have things that keep you on your toes.

Also, IMO, we have to be careful not to blame the players for some bad game mechanics that they have no control over. We get culled on, but we cull on other people to. When we run with 15, some times the AoE cap benefits us (although we never intentionally pile up on each other to abuse it as is done in the higher tiers).

I like EB as a whole since they fight outside the walls A LOT. Nothing against BP either. Some people from SBI were not honest about numbers or the fights we had with them and dishonesty really bugs the crap out of me. I don’t anticipate that happening here.

It is always fun going against the ADQQSTY group. You guys are one of the few groups I have to keep an eye out for flanking in not only this tier, but any tier we have fought in.

For the portal bomb in question, here is my view on the situation as I was the one commanding. Once my scouts reported that you were building ballistas and arrow carts back of the camp, I assumed (correctly I believe) that they were there to fall back to once the camp capture failed. So I put taking out that siege as the first priority as I did not want to have a prolonged fight in lowlands. So I immediately organized a portal bomb on top of one of the ballista for the sole purpose of killing them. Reason why I preferred it on top is because most damage happens the moment we take the portal. That means it would give us the highest chance for the siege to die as well as whoever was manning it. Thankfully, your second ballista was in extremely close proximity to the first so killing/knocking the user off that one happened extremely quickly.

Numbers wise, we only used one portal to hit the ballista. So at most we had 20 people go through. How many we had remaining in the camp I do not know. I was not really paying attention to that. I also know that when we portal bombed, I caught a glimpse of your group entering the camp meaning the siege had minimal protection.

It turned out that we managed to wipe you, but realize that wiping you was not the goal of the portal bomb. Had your group been on the siege when we bombed we instead would have been wiped. That outcome is fine by me so long as we were able to kill the siege.

That is the biggest difference between our two groups. You guys set out to kill as many people with as few casualties as possible. We set out to accomplish our goal using whatever means possible. Sometimes those means include throwing bodies at something to whittle it down. That does mean we will incur many deaths, but as long as we either cap, retain, or kill whatever we were going after, it would be worth it.

People, there’s obviously a disconnect between map coverage and the forum posts about what X server does.

The simple fact is that 5/7 nights the CDBL is the most active BL because our lack of population to defend against multiple attacks. 7/7 nights CD corner of EB ma kitten uffering a 2 prong attack.

Does this mean it’s something that shouldn’t be done? Heck no, any server would be a fool not to go through the path of least resistance.

Does it mean that YB or EBay are horrible? not necessarily, although I get really miffed when I try to help defend CDBL against huge EBay zergs while YB is stomping EBay in EB. It’s as if they give up on defending their territory and moved to attack something else. (yes, it has happened 4-5 nights in two weeks of fighting, please don’t dispute this).

Lastly, unlike some I don’t think YB has the numbers or capability to roflstomp us (eb/cd). They simply have a larger presence during prime time which gives them a great head-start on the week when reset occurs.
Don’t take that as an insult, it’s a numbers game, nothing wrong with that.

Just curious, but do you actually go outside of your own borderland?

Thing is CD has been double teamed (generally) during NA prime time. We have the lowest population during that time, so we just try to hang on. The consequent talking how we are “bad” is not really called for.

Really? Yak’s has queued up our borderland every weekday night. Adding onto that the 30 or so you had in our borderland as well. Still did not manage to take a keep though.

i keep on running into massive numbers of thieves. at one point we where holding a supply camp against something like 12 thieves. when pushing to the overlook it seemed to me like you guys only had thieves to defend. trebing overlook. something like a 5:1 ratio of thieves to necros came to push us off.

This is the first time that CD managed to take SMC on reset day in the last couple of weeks since reset. Quite an achievement considering we were outmanned during the first 10 or so minutes and nearly lost our supply camps right off the bat to some tricky (and annoying thieves from yaks bend).

Really did not want to give up SMC to ya guys. Yaks forced us to decide between overlook and SMC. Well, kinda an obvious choice.

An annoying problem that I have been running into is after my guild takes a supply camp I try to throw the +5 buff from an alt guild onto the camp. Unfortunately, I have to wait because my alt guild was not the majority guild represented at the cap. Most of the times I can’t use the main guilds claim because it is on a keep. Could ANet please make supply camps the exception for the claiming requirement.

How many queues does Kain have outside the NA TZ? I am just curious.. from what people are saying it sounds like they have queues in 4 borders 24/7. However, I guess it won’t matter now.. at least for a bit until the big servers get to top tiers.

It is incredibly hard to tell what numbers kaen can actually put up because they have probably never fully fielded their force outside of reset. My best guess from when Ehmry fought them is:

4 map queue on reset until ~11pm – midnight. Tapers off until WM fully gets on then a queue on 2-3 maps on reset.

Every other day queue on 3-4 maps during NA primetime and 2 during Asian prime. Otherwise 1-2 queue max

Really though, if you do not enjoy large group play then join a lower population realm.

Here we are ninjaing the bay from Kaineng during primetime on reset night. We snuck in behind them while they were fighting EB. Thanks for taking down the outer wall for us EB. Awesome job keeping scouts in the bay, Kaineng. I hear bay gets ninjad all of the time by small groups in T1 during primetime hours.

We end up killing a lot of upscaled Kaineng alts before we getting overrun by enough numbers to freeze our clients.

Just curious, but why was Devona’s in Ehmry’s BL while you lost your entire BL?

Another reason they won’t merge servers. Not everybody likes the same type of WvW. Some people enjoy playing with/against only small groups while others just enjoy the large zergs.

They won’t merge the lower servers.
