This is definitely annoying me, i’m actually considering going back to shiro-mallyx even with the lack of swiftness until they get this sorted out. Sometimes impossible odds will even stay locked out indefinitely.

This is why in most guilds you have to ask an officer to withdraw anything of value nowadays.

So you made a long and elaborate post about semantics, while completely disregarding the legitimacy of those complaints based on many player’s points of view regarding how they ’’feel’’ about the expansion… which is the point that should matter the most imo.

Everything that has been contributed so far is plausible, whether it’s because mmo news don’t generate enough clickies, or because no monetary incentivising has been done, the result is the same. An expansion is usually a pretty big deal for any game, and an opportinuty to attract new players to the game.

I would be curious to know what percentage of the current playerbase decided to give gw2 a shot after reading the glowing reviews published on IGN/GS back then, because as it is now, anyone who hasn’t heard of HoT today still won’t know what the kitten a HoT is tommorow.

I guess the whole point of this post was to vent out a bit, Gw2 has been my go-to game for so long, i just want to see it grow and not miss opportunities to do so, and i can’t help but feel like we’re missing out on potential new players here.

You do raise a fine point, they have indeed praised gw2 at launch and given it a pretty good score, which makes me wonder why there isn’t any coverage or ’’hyping’’ being done now that HoT is launching in a few short hours. If you visit the PC part of both websites, in popular games coming soon, or on the entire main page there is not a trace of gw2 launching an expansion, which seems odd to me because there isn’t all that much going on in pc gaming these days.

What i’m about to say is purely based on my personal opinion and not based on facts, but i have a feeling it probably has to do with shady politics and pressured (bought) boycotts. Considering the extremely biased reviews published there, i wouldn’t be surprised if HoT got a terrible score anyway, if only because Anet refused to buy the reviewers.

I know i might get infracted for saying this, but the truth is that it had to be said, and i find it regrettable that at the end of the day, more people might have decided to try gw2 if they had read coverage on one of those major gaming news websites.

There is no doubting gw2 has had incredible success in the past, and I wish Anet the best for HoT and the coming years. I don’t believe they need coverage from IGN and Gamespot to do so, but you know… It certainly wouldn’t hurt.

I’ve always found it odd that major gaming websites such as Gamespot and IGN usually shy away from anything GW2 related. Sure, if you go to TenTonHammer you can see HoT advertised all over the place, but considering the huge success that GW2 has had in the last years, and the fact that it is about to launch a gamechanging expansion in a few hours, why exactly are gw2 related news nowhere to be seen when visiting these websites? You can be sure that if this was a wow expansion, everyone would be covering it.

That being said, one can’t help but wonder what exactly is going on behind the scenes.
It’s kind of sad, really because even if i don’t personally visit these on a regular basis, i know a lot of people who do, and it would definitely help Anet reach an even wider audience.

There isn’t much you can do about undercutting, and i dont really think it is a problem. It’s a very common practice in an otherwise healthy market. There are a lot of people who will decide to go the easy route of undercutting by large margins in order to sell quickly, just like there are people who fill out buy orders. All in the spirit of instant gratification. Without those people, there wouldn’t be money to be made in the first place.

I would advise being patient, if the item you posted is at a reasonable price, i 100% guarantee you it will sell.

What i do have a problem with is people posting bulk sell orders at current buy order price +1c in markets where there is a significant gap, but that is another topic.

I know there is a website somewhere you can get your wow character 3d printed and painted. I would pay tons of $$$ if Anet were to develop such a partnership to have my gw2 main printed, and probably a few alts. Would look awesome in my office.

Just watching the stream, and apparently they changed the autoattack #3’s ’’spin’’ to something that looks much, much, much, much better.

Depending on exactly how hard the boss actually hits, i’m thinking almost full zerk with maybe 1-2 valkyrie pieces to bump vitality just high enough to be able to take one hit.

Yeah the standard mail carrier’s PING sounds is pretty annoying imo. Get a nice one, the sounds they make isn’t annoying at all, sweet sweet sound of money about to be made.

You might get lucky if you watch streams on twitch which are sponsored by Anet once HoT is released, but i wouldn’t hold my breath.

While i dont really agree with most of the recent decisions ANet has made regarding many aspects of the future of this game, I can definitely appreciate the hard work they are putting behind everything they release. They might be slow at it, but when something comes out, it’s generally never broken in any kind of crazy way.

I’m pretty confident that there won’t be anything ‘’game breaking’’ like symbolic avenger and that they allocated sufficient ressources to be able to cope with the surge of returning players.

For my part i’ll be using Monsoon when HoT hits.

We really need this imo, add 3 worthwile new master traits and put dodges on F3 as the new mechanic. make it so there is a little arrow that opens selection boxes just like with the revenant legends.

To be completely honest, i don’t believe for a second that ascended will be REQUIRED for raids. It’s 5% superior to exotics. I’d take a decent player in exos over a scrub in full pink any day.

I know animations are still in the works, but imo punishing strikes REALLY need to change, i feel like im roleplaying a sassy cheerleader. Also please please please change the staff stance to something more suiting than the crappy hammer stance.

Lol i know who that player is, must have been at it for quite some time as i first saw him a few days before the last BWE. After a brief chat he explained he is doing it to try and reach #1 on the ap leaderboard.

I do not really approve of this but at the same time, there is nothing worth reporting going on there… no automated gameplay. Only 2 players spending a huge amount on time on something that they perceive as being of equal value.

Truth is by the time you’re done checking gear req and runes / sigils for your whole party, you would be at least halfway through the dungeon if you never bothered in the first place. Doesn’t seem all that efficient to me.

Thing is Anet is doing crunch for HoT release, and they have already stated that they are looking at a fix. Ppl should be happy we get anything new at all during this time period, of course there are going to be bugs.

Just looking at all the drama makes me sad.

Nowhere did I claim this to be original in any way, quite the opposite actually as i tried to stick to the original as much as possible, changing only the premice and a few words here and there.

If you, as a reader had not read this before and or the said reading provoqued at least a mild feeling of amusement i would consider my mission accomplished. But like desade said, maybe i did not proprely capture the essence and state of mind of the original artist as this might be too close to reality to be considered adequately comical. Every time my warrior grants himself swiftness, he also has to check his depends, just in case that was the sound of a real shart.

At some point in developpement there was supposed to be a chest in there somewhere but the idea got scrapped, and the jp stayed iirc.

I just want to take a second to thank Roy and the rest of you guys at ArenaNet for bringing us the Revenant. While i admit that it will still need tweaks here and there to be ready for HoT, I have to say that I had a blast playing my rev this weekend, more fun than i’ve had in quite a while playing gw2. This weekent i took my rev for a spin in the beta map, doing the vinewrath chain, tequatl, some world bosses, some pvp, and even some awesome fights at bgbl during reset night (kek). Tried a variety of builds, from power to condi, to hybrid variants, and can comfortably say it will become my main come HoT.

I literally cannot wait for HoT to come out now, and i expect to be a little bit depressed when you guys turn off the beta tonight as I wont be able to play the rev anymore the next time I log in :p.

If you’re really hardcore you have a dedicated group that you consistently run content with. If you have to use the lfg, then accept the fact that you are likely to get bearbows and necros in full clerics. End of story.
