you can buy multiple books to save you the trip to the trait extortionist. But at this point you have to pay the trait tax.

getting to max level is not the point of the game. If that is your goal then you are missing a good chunk of the game.

If you like the look of the gear, get it. Then find the stats you like on something else and T-stone it…
Thief may be the hardest class in PvE as it’s a beast in PvP. Until you level and get traited out you will feel a lot of pain. As a thief you need to get better a kyting and letting your NPC friends take a bit of pain while you do the killing. The ‘frontal assault’ that you can do with a warrior is not what you want to do as a thief. For one of my missions I found if I moved too fast I’d agro many things but if I just sniped with my pistol I could take everything one at a time.
Don’t fight strait on, do your best to move in stealth and let others take the shots for you.
They are plants and I would say they did a decent job showing that plants ‘sexuality’ is a bit more complex that humans. Many of the plants do seem to be androecious or gynoecious. Who knows Caithe may be dioecious!
I honestly don’t care about a quiver. I actually would be more annoyed as I have tried to pull a three foot arrow out of a quiver on my back with my two foot long arm. I need to grab the arrow a foot down the shaft and then pull until my arm was strait up to get the arrow free of the quiver.

I don’t know what Giant Champ you are talking about so it’s hard to give specifics. If you are doing a skill challenge and you get gold your reward was the completion of the skill challenge. It sounds like this boss guy you fought was a skill challenge from your rewards. A naturally occuring Champ usually gives exp and coin.
By design you are suppose to be able to solo a veteran but not a Champ.
Play an Asuran
The movement speed is relative to the race you are playing. Norn and Charr feel sluggish but Asuran feel like you are booking around everywhere. It’s an aspect of needing a constant speed between races but a size difference of the race.

Only major event bosses have chests after the event. Champions and Veterans are just tough monsters in the world and there is not chest that drops for them. Sometimes the loot just sucks as well.
If your goal in playing the game was to get to max level, then congratulations you reached it. In GW1 poeple reached max before the game started so I saw many players leave before they even started the game…The good news about the GW franchise is that you don’t pay a sub fee. Now that you reached your goal you are free to run off and play anything else you want. Better yet go outside and see if there is a world out there. You can then come back after a month or two when you are bored with something else and play more. That’s what I did with GW1 since the beginning.
You can also find a different goal for the game, like exploration, alts, whatever. Reading this I am extremely happy my highest is 38. I’d hate to be as bored as you are. There are benefits to being slow.

You are still leveling, try many different things out, don’t settle on one thing or the other yet. You have over 50 levels before you should do that.
D/D and shortbow is a very standard set up. Personally I like sword and dagger + shortbow. I’m currently playing with shortbow and P/P, next I may do sword and pistol + D/D, who knows. This is like college, experiment!
While some classes are better suited to ‘heal’ or party support, the game was intentionally designed to kill the tank and spank model. Yes at times you can do it, but when you pull up to a champ don’t bother you can’t do it.
Water ellys make for great healers as do guardians, and every class has ways to build the char to help out a party or buff themselves. At the same time if you just stand in the strongest attacks the boss is doing you will go down no matter how much effort they are putting into keeping things going for you. There is no monk and there is no ‘hate’ for purposes of drawing agro. Unless I’m in the game, everything seems to go for me, so everything in the game hates Grim …

That’s kind of a drawinian aspect of the game isn’t it. A-net sells you gold and it’s pretty safe. Gold sellers buy the gems off A-net trades for gold and sells it to some dumb guy, then steals his account. Had this guy just bought the gems from A-net in the first place he’d be fine!
seriously though A-net has a lot more to do right now than deal with the gold sellers. We the community need to stop buying from them as we don’t have to anymore.

You seem to have figured it out, don’t melee champions. they have a nasty habbit of one-shotting everything in melee range. We really have no choice but to back off and use a rifle.
sum up, stop melee’ing Champs.
I’ve been very supprised about the gold selling mail. i assumed since Anet was selling it’s own gold that these groups would not exist anymore. It seems they are the ones buying the gems and selling us the gold?

I had the same problem, I went to the asuran starting area and did a full sweep of it and was a good level after that. I don’t like that I needed to do that but it is was it is.
Options: PvP, WvW, Crafting, other starting area maps, repeat the map and grab more DE’s,
I’ll place bets they will allow name changes in the future that you can purchase with gems. They have other things to work on right now, so I doubt it’s high on the list.
Mounts are completely redundant in this game. If you want to collect some animal play a ranger.
No mounts please unless you want to let me fight from the horses back and create a cavalry class.

Find an elemental trainer, they can usually be found by the area where you started at lvl 1. He will sell you a book for 10 silver. that will unlock your ability to use traits.

Unfortunately yes, it is common. Don’t over agro stuff you are not a tank that doesn’t take damage. The game is designed for a more ‘active defense’ not a stationary soak it up strategy to ‘tanking.’
Keep your armor up to date as you play the stronger it is the better you can soak damage without dying. Move around and watch for the ‘big hits’ they usually have some ‘power up’ visual. When you see it, dodge. Once you get past lvl 14 you will be able to afford heal sig. Make this the first skill you buy the re-gen will make life a lot easier.
Until then get a rifle and kyte till it gets low on health. Then switch to your greatsword and finish things off.
I’ve heard this one is hard, most recomend finding other players tyring to do it and team up.
Get a shortbow.

I had stocked up 20+ items to drop in the TP when it came up. Once it did I noticed they were selling for 1c over the merch. So I merched them. 25 items merched is an extra silver to me.
The other option is see how many people are selling at that price, then mark it higher.

Thief is a lot of fun but if you are new to the game and are not skilled at kyting then do teh ranger.
You can get mats the moment you start the game and have enough copper to afford a mining pick. This will be pretty quick. at lvl 10 I had enough to craft four boxes. You are easily at the level to be able to make your own. As it sounds like you haven’t been harvesting the nodes you may just want to buy them.
