I just wanted to say, to the NSP Assaulter at Durios who was trying to destroy the Arrow Cart used to take out the treb hitting SM…
You made my day.
After the first few attempts of landing on that rocky outcrop and me using “Fear Me” and “Rifle Butt” to knock you off, was overshadowed by that epic jump you had made.
Using Signet of Rage for speed after we exchanged gestures, and then leaping off Durios, only to undershoot the jump completely but not to the point of a complete miss, but enough so you hit the slopped side causing fall damage for 1/4 your HP and then falling into the water where you were then ripped to pieces by the incoming DH forces… was side painfully hilarious…

6/7 NSP vs. SF vs. DH

So tonight, I’ve relized DH has some major issues that I think is what is causing us to not rank up in tiers.

Obliviousness. I have watched time and time again, things happening that goes completely unnoticed, despite multiple people being in that area, or they do see them, and don’t say a thing about it. When we had NSP’s keep last week, I noticed as I was firing treb shots at Ogres, no one shooting at Vel saw the Treb being built clear as day on the hill, and it got up and started hitting our trebs. I had to call it out then we got it Then not even 10 minutes later, NOONE noticed one of the outter walls on the west side were destroyed completely! (Mind you, we were at “15 minute + Line to get into WvW” population). I had to call THAT out and managed to get the wall up and destroy their treb just in time to block the zerg. But then right AFTER, NOONE heard the “banging” sound of a door being hit, nor noticed the 6+ golems bursting through the water gate and overran us. Also noticed despite having 5 guys at the south stonemist wall just now, none of them said “Hey guys. SF is building catapults and arrow carts at the south of SM, oh and two of our walls are now at 70% HP and dropping!” or anything along those lines. I had to call it out, again! THEN we had a response…. when the wall was at 10%. There was also the time a little bit before that NSP was at the western gate and no one said anything! Noone calls anything out, or don’t even notice it happening…

I have never seen people so, oblivious to these things! God only knows how many times I see something get swords showing it’s under attack and I ask “Anyone got eyes on (blank)” when I KNOW there are people there, and then I get zero response, and I have to run over there myself just to see what’s up.

Trebbed QL from SM for a hour straight last night.
Trebbed Durios the day before.
Trebbed Ogre and Val from NSP’s Keep this morning before they golem rushed it.

Hmm, not sure which one to rate, lol.
I can’t rate the second one cause truthfully… I can’t even see it!
Overall… 6/10
The two I can see do look like they’d need a good headpiece to even it out.
Maybe it’s cause to me, that type of outfit, doesn’t really work well with Charr characters. (They remind me of those magician bosses from Dead Rising 2.)

I just saw this too and couldn’t help but laugh.
300 gold? If someone actually buys it for 300g…
The jetpack is like what, 100g now? That actually has some worth behind it since you know, you can wear it, and people can “see” it and you might be going for a “I’m a Furnace!” theme, etc.
But 300g, for a little floating squid to follow you?

Why not buy one of those permanent Bank nodes instead.
Call him “Tod from Accounting” and have him follow you around instead.
More usefulness, less cost, etc.

Issues with Selling on the MP

Anyone else having issues when it comes to selling items on the marketplace?

I can buy and browse fine, but when I go to sell something on the marketplace, it just sits there on a blank screen, unable to load anything.

Anyone else having this issue or perhaps was something announced I missed?

Rank Chests Extremely Dissapointing

To me the chest is more then enough.
You get tons of loot as is killing players and NPCs (Have read of folks getting precursors from killed players!) so the chests are just extra rewards on top of the skill points and the loot acquired from getting the experience for the chest.
So what if it’s not always rares… it’s still “something” which is a lot more then “nothing”.

Wouldn’t be surprised if people start complaining that they aren’t getting infused trinkets from harvesting omnomberries!

How am I supposed to counter stealth?

I’ve only used the stealth trap once.
Darkhaven was attacking IOJ’s keep in EB and there was this one SF thief who was behind our siege, just being annoying. Wasn’t killing anyone, just attacking, running away, attacking, running away, over and over.
I’d get him close to death, he’d run away and return, always being the first one to attack, then run.
So eventually I planted a trap at my feet within enough range to shoot at him with my rifle.
He charged at me, then the trap sprung! Two allies joined in and shot at him and he ran, then tried to hide and cast that skill that makes the house appear when he goes invisible… cept he didn’t go invisible.
We then slaughtered him and I laughed so hard since he now had a long walk just to get back~
Only time I ever used one, but totally worth it.

My only complaint about thieves being invisible.
They shouldn’t be able to FINISH downed players while invisible…

Subdirector NULL Issues

Was part of a coordinated party that knew exactly what to do and got NULL to a sliver of health, then the debuff started picking us off, and a healing turret outhealed our downed damage.

It’s utterly stupid that a party can do all the right things and lose because of bad luck. And not catastrophically bad luck. Just NULL being allowed to put its shield up ONE extra time with us unable to do anything because of detonated mines – just long enough for a cheap debuff to finish us off.

The debuff at 20% is just annoying as all ****…
A lot of people don’t even know its there until after they’re dead. It’s cause of this i’m keeping warbanner on for emergencies.
And it’s really annoying when its
Electrocution Damage, then Shields, then Detonates Mines…

Conditions weren’t working for my group either.
One thing I wish they added is a “heads up” that he’s exploding all the mines like what happens in the solo dungeon inside the chat box.
I know when he starts punching the ground that triggers it, but when it gets to the later point when you’re dodgerolling from the sparks or trying to get your bearing, you can’t catch the animation especially if attacks are causing him to be engulfed in attacks.

Also at times it’s a L2P issue…
Mine explodes, downs a person.
Person runs to revive said person as another mine spawns.
Mine explodes, downs the person.
Person runs over to revive both people as another mine spawns.
Mine explodes, downs the person.

I do feel that all 3 servers have strengthened in WvW from this match up,

I feel Isle of Janthir has gotten a lot stronger then what they previously were based on the weeks fighting them.
When we had attacked their keep last week and suddenly so many came pouring in to the point of being Outmanned, it was like “Dam! I don’t remember them having this much power!” lol
GL to them and SF in their future wars!

A lot of people also do all the Daily Jump Puzzles for Badges.
You can average an easy 30+ badges a day from the Jump Puzzles alone.

This boss is not hard, its extremely easy. Use your reflection and block skills and move all the time. A mesmer, ele or guard can help in lvl40+, but dont needed.

Question.
What if you’re a warrior, and you don’t have reflect or block skills?

Champion Imbued Shaman Battle

So I’ve been noticing a pattern lately in parties I join when I comes to Fractal of the Mists.
9/10, they want to avoid the Grawl Fractal all together because of this fight.
If we enter that fractal, they want to return to the lab to try again. Never have I heard anything positive about this fractal. Usually it’s “….this one….” or “oh **** I hate this fractal” and so on.

Everything’s all hunky doory until the final boss.
After hours of attempts, different parties, different classes, different tactics it keeps ending up as a failure.
My opinion of it was simple “Man, this fight is kinda unfair, and this is only difficulty 10!” then a fellow party member summed it up.

“It’s broken.”

And I feel like I have to agree with everything that goes on.
The no-cast time firestorms he spams.
The arrows that make you take regular damage, agony damage, and engulfed in flames that make you take fire damage and do fire damage to anyone near you.
The lava pools that appear.
The floor that catches you on fire making reviving people a pain.
The horde of slimes that appear and swarm over you, slowing you down with each hit and seem to keep coming and coming.
The boss who always seems to be next to the NPC he’s about to heal off of.
The fact the boss will sometimes drop agro and fully heal. (Had this happen twice And i’m not referring to where he floats to a NPC to heal. Like, he just stops attacking on the spot and heals completely from whatever HP he was at). Kinda sucks when he’s 1/2 dead, drops agro and heals, then attacks again, thus restarting the battle cept the party isn’t at 100% health, are waiting on cooldowns, and one guy is usually dead by now.

So I’m making this thread to get the opinions of others who have fought this fractal boss and what they feel about him (Maybe even show a few tips/strategies. Already know that if you run away from him a good distance you can drop combat to fully heal, etc), and hopefully let ANET see that perhaps they should look into this boss a bit.

Edit – Been asking around Lion’s Arch about the fight, getting tips, etc… and so far it feels like you have to have specific classes during the battle (Guardian or Mesmer) who can reflect.
Gonna keep doing some research into the fight~

I personally don’t think GW2 needs mounts that give any sort of bonus.
Maybe just cosmetic like how the drill and the witch’s broom work.

The game itself has so many waypoints to go from Point A to Point B, it’s really not needed to have any mounts besides looking good.

Thieves Invisible While Finishing in PVP.

I’m sure this has probably been spoken of before but I figured i’d post as the “Ask a Question” email directed me to this forum.

In World VS World, i’ve come across it way too often when the moment you get downed, a thief homes in on your downed form and boom, finishes you while invisible.
To me, if feels rather, unfair. The moment you get downed you’re suppose to try and Fiight For Your Life, but the moment they become invisible and are standing literally on top of you, you now can’t do anything except die.

I kinda feel that the moment a thief holds down the F key, they should then become visable again.

I am aware there are ways to try and counter it, but 9/10 it mostly won’t work
(I can see it being stopped if for instance someone is downed and that guy manages to in time say “Invisible Thief on me” and someone reacts by using a knockback move on that spot like the rifle’s melee attack, that could prevent it)

If not make them visable during Finishers… then what if the moment an ally starts to revive a player, it stops anyone attempting to use a Finisher on them.
I say this because a lot of times someone is downed, then someone else goes to revive them then BOOM! Flag hits the body, kills them, thief appears and runs away and then they’re stuck reviving the guy anyways cept now he has repair fees…

In fact, what skills could you even have for that oil?!
OH!
Increased Range! (From 1 foot from gate to 2 feet!)
Increased attack radius! (You can now get their boots a little burnt!)
More fire damage! (The ground burns longer! Not the players, you missed all of them.)
And, um.. the oil slows them more! (….cause… you know. Whynot?!!)
And lastly you get the skill Hara-Burni where you tip the pot backwards to burn yourself alive, making you experience a slow agonizing death for you to relize the fact that while your allies were busy working on arrow carts and cannons, YOU decided to hop on the Burning Oil while it was being pegged away by rifles and arrows.

So what’s it like in T2? lol..
Been on Darkhaven and we’re still in T6… which is odd. Have beaten our opponents the last 3-4 weeks straight (Last week we had an 80k point lead and just a few hours ago we controlled one server’s entire BL. The ENTIRE BL), but every week we fight the SAME people… over and over… with no changes. Still Green side… again…
What we doing wrong?

Like, 99% of WvW players already don’t ever stand under one of those.
They’re like, distractions. Need to blow up the oil before attacking the gate.
So you better get some AMAZING abilities from that to even have someone consider it…

Because Overlook is overpowered. It has height advantage and it is the only keep that can treb SM. The south mortar has huge advantage on height.

I know their trebs can hit the noth wall of SM, but even those have to be located on the outter wall and even then it’s only through splash damage most of the time.
Just feels weird to see a Mortar, with that much range. Even with the height advantage it’s essentially got 50% more range then a normal mortar’s firing range on level ground.

So today in WvW in the “Darkhaven” “Sorrow’s Furnace” “Isle of Janthir” battlegroup we were attempting to seige SF’s keep in EB since they have few members on at the time.

We built Trebs at the Vista north of SM and after some trebbing, a mortar took them out.
People kept asking where they were coming from so I peered off and watched for streaks in the sky, and eventually saw it was the Mortar… on the Keep’s Inner Wall.

And everything we built on the vista got destroyed by this same mortar.
This was baffling to me, since I knew the treb on the vista (not a big height difference between the two) couldn’t even hit their mortar. The farthest being the large tower or the statue.
Everything we built, boom.. gone.
Even one we built at the far back of the Vista top… still got hit. Heck i’m pretty sure one round missed the treb and hit Anz at one point!
Then an ally built a treb at a very bad spot, but then I noticed an enemy using the mortar on the outer wall to try and hit it.. but it kept falling short.
This blew my mind BIG time.

Essentially this is what I was looking at.

How is it… the Keep’s Inner Wall Mortar on the SouthWest Side was able to hit all that… while the other couldn’t? I understand there are skills to increase range, but by that much?!
I’d expect the vista to be able to get smashed by the outer wall mortars, but inner wall?!
Kinda feel like there’s toooo much of a difference gap between those two.

So it was an issue!
I kept noticing this and my GOD is it annoying.
Getting swarmed with the ball.
Getting swarmed while chasing the ball carrier.
Getting swarmed even while knocked out from being swarmed!

It’s in your inventory. A lot of people question this. Look for the item that shares the same icon as the Candy Corn detector from the halloween event. Should say “Sample Detector” for the item, or something along those lines.
White name for the color.
The description reads
“Levvi’s jury-rigged device for locating and collecting anomalos enviromental samples”

Crab Toss - Multiple Issues

So i’ve been doing Crab Toss for the achievements and i’ve noticed MULTIPLE issues with the game.
One glitch, one annoyance, one problem.

First off as many are aware, it is LAGGY at many times. People teleport around, you randomly die, and you lose the crab now and then from someone hitting you, but not hitting you.

Second is the annoyance.
I have noticed numerous times the small crab swarms will target one person, and only one person, the entire game.
They will beeline from one end STRAIGHT to that person.
Doesn’t matter what place they are, doesn’t matter if they have the ball or not, doesn’t matter about anything… you just get swarmed.
Whenever it happens to me it feels like a huge disadvantage, as when i’m trying to go after the ball carrier, i’m getting taken down by small crabs over and over while they run around fine, and when i get the ball I also now have to dodge all the swarms too besides just the players!!
Even when I’m downed and awaiting to restand up, they’re still spawning, still running to my downed form, and still trying to explode on me.

Lastly is the glitch. I’ve noticed twice now if you have the ball and get rolled over, for some reason it makes me drop the ball and it’ll vanish, but it still says I have the ball.
People will attack me, but nothing will occur.
I won’t gain points, but still have the crab symbol over my head.
At first I thought it was a glitch where the crab is dead but not quite dead, as they do throw in another one. However, not quite sure when it occured but once I get the ball then it got stolen from me, whoever had stolen it suddenly jumped up around 20+ points as if while I had the symbol it was racking in points but not giving me it, and once someone got it it counted all the points I would have got and gave it to them.

First of all you get the precursor, then you get the CLOVERS, keep the t6.
After you have precursor and t6 you are done

I’m gonna do one thing at a time.
Right now focusing on accumulating skill points while I explore the maps and get that completed as well as making areas available to me.
Once i’ve hit the 100% map completion then i can start focusing on mat gathering/writing down what i’ve already gotten, and focus on getting 1 needed material at a time.
As for aquiring Dusk… that’ll be… not so easy.

I’m guessing cof p1 is Citidal of Flames Part 1 dungeon… but zerk war/mes? Not sure what that part is.

So 2 months if a hardcore grind. Taking off time needed for work… so about 3 months.
Alright.. cracks knuckles Let’s do this!

Edit – Was looking through my inventory and relized… some of the materials i’ve already got a good chunk of. Some. Ascalonian tears, karma… and I need to explore the entire map which i’m about 60% done with that.
So far so good then! lol…

So i started playing GW2 again, relizing “Hey, i should have stuck with it… it’s fun” and I figure at one point or another i’m going to try for a Legendary weapon.
After browsing through the selection I came to the conclusion “… I want twilight, that’s all.”.
I looked over the materials, scratched my head at a few and muttered ’…and these are?" quite a few times.
I was curious… what would be a rough estimate, if say you started farming for say twilight, from scratch, what would be the timeframe it would generally take.

Not saying i’m one of those “I want my weapons nowwww!!!” just wondering what to expect. I know it’s not gonna be less then a week, heck probably not even less then a month, i’m just asking what I should expect on average for those who went for one.

As is right now, i’m not even starting yet.
My first step I figure would be to get all of the main map explored and opened for availability so I can access the required areas, then i’d focus on getting the pieces while on my off time raising my weapon and armor smithing skills to 400 as needed.

My second concern was “How much Karma and Gold will be needed”. This way i know how to farm up and keep myself focused on not making purchases I won’t need

Example -
Me- “Ah man! I totally want that cultural armor tier 3 look!”
My Mind – “Don’t.. DON’T! You’re going after the flame legion armor’s look… don’t spend the gold on that armor you fool!”
