If Whirling Axe granted Stability, reflected projectiles and lasted for what seems like 2 freaking minutes, then sure Thieves might be balanced with everyone else.

I hope you post the video so it can be used as evidence to ban all the exploiters involved.

They could at least put a Warrior subheading even if the section below is blank so they remember we exist?
PS: Rifle skill Volley with trait Crack Shot fix already, holy sweet Jormag’s kitten it’s one number. Give me the freaking code and I’ll do it for you. Tool tip says 8, yet it still counts down from 10….

You have no idea how badly this would be abused in WvW…
- Colin Johanson while spamming key 1 in GW2
Then there’s the Exotic Karma amour from the vendors in Orr. Rubbish stats for any build.
- Colin Johanson while spamming key 1 in GW2
I’d take that ‘spin around for 2 and a half minutes reflecting missiles and slashing everything in sight’ that thieves have and they can have my signet that has no synergy with my shouts.

Red keep definitely has the topographic advantage. Blue keep is probably the least advantageous position. Red and Blue certainly get handicapped with Anz and Durios.
Then again, Arenanet’s philosophy is the help the winning team win more (re: Orb bonus etc), so I guess they figure the top seed should have a strategic advantage as well.

One stickied topic per matchup, created when WvW resets (and subsequently locked/moved) would be ideal. All other topics/posts merged. Fair bit of moderating, but would be great.

Firstly I want to say good game to TC. It’s been a back and forth tug of war with neither side totally giving up at any point. Good luck in the next tier, you are the first enemy server I have come to respect.
With regard to SoS, we are definitely improving. 2 weeks ago, a fully capped map by the enemy would’ve meant WvW was abandoned for the week. But it seems like we are willing to fight it out till the end now. Our NA primetime coverage is certainly improving. It’s good to see so many regulars as well as the new names.
Next week is definitely going to be a good week for SoS.

Yeah…but Kaineng still sounds kinda German :P

I got a small relative discount on the cost of my digital copy of the game because the American dollar tanked so hard before I bought it the exchange rate was beneficial to me.
So while I feel some pity towards you for living where you do (in such an economically crippled country) I still paid full price for the game – your night is my day, and frankly you can go kitten.
- Colin Johanson while spamming key 1 in GW2
If the match is going to reset 2-3 times per week, just give us back shorter (far more enjoyable) matches again by making the matchups themselves last 3 days or so.
- Colin Johanson while spamming key 1 in GW2
I’d like to see ranks based on the total number of kills you’ve done or something. Could be a small monetary reward associated.
But definitely no statistical rewards.

Welcome Defiance to SoS. We are always glad to have more NA timezone players on board.
The quickest way to gain respect on our server will be to go about your business without fuss or drama. I wish you the best and hope to see you in-game soon.

Any and all USA timezone players are most welcome on Sea of Sorrows.

I also concur that TC should join SoS.

Can we please get the cooldown on Volley fixed with Crack Shot trait? Over a month and no-one can quickly change one number for us…

Sea of Sorrows is also a siege-free-zone. I have no idea what people spend their badges on.

Wondering why the winning server in WvW seems to break out a massive lead and the other two servers are often quite close together way down? It’s the “self balancing system” (developer’s pre-launch term).
This self balancing system of the 3 teams in WvW works like this:
- A brief period of jostling occurs during the first hours of WvW post-reset until a leader emerges through luck, organisation or numerical advantage.
- #1 attacks #2 because they are the nearest threat.
- #3 attacks #2 because they are the next placed team and they want to move up a place.
- #2 dies until they become #3.
- All the while #1 gathers orbs, siege, supply and an unassailable lead.
- Repeat with new #2 and #3 placed teams.
If the winner is generally determined so early on, why do matches need to run for one week? Fast, furious, less demoralising (for the losers) and less boring (for the winner) matches would be more enjoyable for everyone?

Raze it to the ground and build it back up from scratch.

1. Close the Borderlands maps
2. Increase capacity 50% on Eternal Battlegrounds
3. Fix ‘invisible’ players (draw distance engine fail)
4. Fix various bugs, exploits, imbalances
5. Profit

I want to use a longbow so badly, but it just let’s me down. Having less range and no knock-back vs the rifle is a bad start.
- Colin Johanson while spamming key 1 in GW2
Counter-Treb would be a kitten-load more viable as a tactic if there wasn’t a dead body exploit-spying on your exact treb location in every freaking tower so the attacking Treb can dial in their shells.
- Colin Johanson while spamming key 1 in GW2
Ah well this explains where all of our SoS players go. Drop some coin and get the same siege equipment instantly from the vendor…
- Colin Johanson while spamming key 1 in GW2
This has been a “thing” since before beta. At least choose a current complaint to peddle rather than bandwagon on a train that’s looooong since departed the list of realistic requests.

Pro tip:
Set your target with Control-T
Target the set target, with T.
Now if you ever lose target, just hit T again.
Irregardless, you’re still having to retarget. Many times I drop target ingame for no reason at all, i.e. they didn’t stealth, it just drops.
Hopefully this gets fixed soon.
Then when it doesn’t work you suddenly remember you aren’t in a party and for some reason you aren’t allowed to call a target for yourself only.

Then he’d be a sad panda because of all the child-models walking around in the game.

As with many others I think an Elite skill Shout is a definite must.
I would also like to see MH Sword #2 and #3 merged into a crippling-leap skill. Then an additional skill should be added in slot #3 to inflict vulnerability, weakness or similar.
There is currently no reason to use anything other than #1 while waiting for your adrenaline to stack while in melee range.
- Colin Johanson while spamming key 1 in GW2
I love how the OP explains that we have been given very little information from the developers, and then makes the unsubstantiated claim that these measures are just a “stop gap” until a better solution is found. There is no basis for that claim.
These changes could just as likely be permanent.
- Colin Johanson while spamming key 1 in GW2
You have a full set of exotic armour and weapons within a couple of days of hitting 80? kittens I must be slow

Good old free transfers at work again
- Colin Johanson while spamming key 1 in GW2
Totally agree, it’s a bizarre oversight from the developers. ET server regularly use this exploit for example.
Every PvP game-mode should have a ‘fade-to-black’ or similar mechanic to avoid dead players playing a significant role for the team.
There is a serious flaw in game mechanics if you are able to be more (or at least some) help to the team when you are dead.
- Colin Johanson while spamming key 1 in GW2
You don’t need crafting. If you sell all of your materials at the TP, odds are that you’ll be able to afford a couple exotic pieces without any problem. Crafted exotics cost little over the sum of materials in most of the cases.
I sold most of my stocked mats for 8g yesterday.
I think you may have misinterpreted my point.
All exotic gear is equal to each other. Exotic chest piece = another exotic chest piece.
I don’t really have a probelm with that.
But the amount of time required to get a different exotic (for purely cosmetic reasons) is the problem with the lack of being able to solo for it. To get a piece of exotic gear, which is of equal value, requires dozens of dungeon runs.
Now before you say GW1 had a ton of grind to it, a lot of GW1’s grind was also solo…and you could achieve the grind in multiple ways. In GW1 you could farm gold, farm missions, do hardmodes for more rewards or do stuff like underworld for direct materials for armors.
But in GW2, you can only do dungeon grinds for the vast majority of exotic gear.
Thing is you can get MAX level 80 gear without grinding so anything else is for kitten and COSMETICS nothing more therefore there IS a GRIND for kitteners and COSMETIC freaks. Nothing in dungeons is REQUIRED thus GRIND isn’t REQUIRED. If you grind you CHOOSE to grind you don’t have to. Thus Anet told the truth because there is NO GRIND to LEVEL 80 or level 80 Max gear.
Which MAX level 80 gear is available without grinding? Is there ugly/normal exotic grade armour I can buy with the 80K Karma and/or 10 gold I have collected? I have looked everywhere…

I totally agree that this contributes to the losing teams ‘running away’ or just plain ‘giving up’. Tactically the punishment for being “defeated” is that the player must respawn from a waypoint and run the long distances on the WvW to re-join the action. This is disincentive enough not to die – from a personal standpoint and also strategically for the team.
Now, the simple solution for the gold-sink punishment would be to remove amour damage and charge for using the waypoint instead. Using the waypoint would be about 1 silver or so, which should be cheaper than repairing a set of level 80 gear?

Really solid post.
If we got one item guaranteed from the first completion of the explorable mode it would be a nice reward for effort, but more importantly act as an incentive to go on and get the rest of the set.
Probably the easiest way of implementing this would be to give out enough of the usual currency tokens upon that first completion such that you are guaranteed to have just enough to buy something.

Physical skills really suit a hammer warrior the best. Grab some toughness and keep those mobs tied down while your party nukes em

I think it’s a very reasonable request. A short term solution could be a shout version of the Signet of Rage, but I would love to see a more defensive shout so it’s a good alternative to SoR. How about something with protection, aegis or retaliation? Something warriors don’t otherwise have access to would be nice.

Unfortunately my computer did not survive this quest as I threw it out the window in frustration. Underwater mindwarp tunnel maze. Death.

This exploit is ridiculous and needs to be fixed ASAP. One guy hiding in the zerg with retaliation or reflection on, takes out all your defences…
