Hahaha holy hell, it’s actually hilarious how outnumbered we are in that video. I actually had to sit out while we were in Eternal because the RE zerg lagged me so bad that my screen would freeze whenever they pushed in until I was dead. Death by obscene lag, completely awesome.

It was funny watching DORP constantly running out from SMC and then just turning around when we would move. Its like they thought an even fight was Kaineng vs Maguuma and Siege. Also love the claim by the commander and others that y’all are outnumbered and had only 1 arrow cart.

Um, yeah. That’s called getting enemies to chase, letting foolish players over extend, and then punishing said players. This whittles down your numbers until we can engage you properly. This is a common tactic to use when outnumbered. Check out my next post!

By the way, when you say you’re “Zerg busting” it typically means you’re busting a zerg with a small group. It doesn’t usually mean “trying to run over a force half your size and running away a lot”. You may want to check your definitions.

Pictures dont always tell the whole story, youre the commander, so most of your guys were generally behind you, I am going to assume this holds true for the picture you posted.. unless you show me a video of at least 3 fights we had I wont believe you, we have a copy of the fights tonight so if we are able to post it we can let that be the judge..

No, this isn’t a matter of differences in personal definitions. You simply do no know what zerg busting means. When a term is coined, there is a general idea of the definition. And if you think the answer to being wrong about something is simply to say “I’m right”, then you’re closing yourself off from growing and learning and I have so much pity for you.

As someone who’s run around in groups of 5-10, wiping groups more than five to six times our size, I am deeply insulted by the misuse of a word created by the internet. SO DEEPLY!

If you’re going to attempt a sexism rampage, start here: Sexism doesn’t affect and offend just one sex, it hurts both. There are men that are willing to take your side, but they’ll be hesitant to do so if you come off as a sexist for the other side instead, and not equal rights.

And yes, I do know where you’re coming from. Being that gaming is in my interests, i have had good, long debates with friends and boyfriends about booth babes and how they get under my skin. I’ve had this battle, and it’s not going to be won on the GW2 suggestion forum.

Did you ever see the web episode of Hey Ash Whatcha’ Playin’ when she spoke to a game developer at PAX about this issue? It was some awkwardly funny stuff. Give it a watch.

Of surveys conducted and general gamer population (as reliable as a survey can be), video games, especially MMOs are predominantly male. Don’t kid yourself that that’s not a fact. Yes, females make a good portion these days, but they are not the majority or targeted audience, and are least likely to stay with a game as long as a male will.

That’s an incredibly sexist statement.
And even if it’s true, then developers are insane for catering to a predominantly male audience. If they make games that appeal to both sexes without ostracising one in favour of the other, they have potentially doubled their audience.

I liked the ‘hand holding the boob’ design. It was unique and “edgy”, while not showing off anything you wouldn’t see in any other light armor outfit.

As I said, the market for the players that have max bank space and still have problems with space for gear is small. There are a couple of ways to get gear, four of them don’t involve grinding: play WvW, play the trading post, sell (crafted) items, salvage items for profit.

No, I’m not saying “deal with it.” I am offering you options. As I said, your issue is that there is not enough space for gear, so you came up with an idea that all players could have all the gear in the game with no effort. This would adversely affect replay value, as a big standing ground of MMOs is to grind something for the gear you want, which increases play time.

I’m all for convenience, but I also like putting forth some amount of effort to get the main component of my character. GW2 is one of the few games that offers you a few different ways to get armor. Making a relatively simple and easy system, even easier because of bank space, is trivial.

Yes, but while the dungeons change, they will change to a predetermined set of combinations. Once players familiarize themselves with that, it’s back to the same ol’ game of “Okay, we did this, now x, y, or z, can happen. Okay, Y happened, so we do this.”

Making so many possibilities that can keep players coming back without it turning into the predictable dungeon would be cost a lot of money and man power.

Being no different from our current dungeons, is the problem. Doing the same thing over and over, fighting the same boss, using the same game mechanics, dodging the same big attacks, going to the same safe spots to dps, watching the same cut scenes, what fun!

Also, no, part of replay value in MMOs are players trying getting new gear and trying builds. Give people something for nothing and they don’t know what to do with themselves.

Being followed irl and someone staring at your name on a computer screen, not messaging you and not following your character in any way is completely different. You want privacy? Go invisible at log in, don’t use personal information as names, don’t tell people your gender. Want to take it a step further? Don’t talk to people. Don’t want to take steps to ensure your own privacy? Don’t expect other people to. While it is important for companies to protect the privacy of their customers, privacy should not count as whether or not the player is online, what character they’re playing, and where they are. These are ultimately meaningless facts when the stalker is doing nothing with them. Now if he/she is, that’s a different story. A lot of this sounds like victim blaming but people want something that can be easily obtained through their own actions, and like I said, are blaming a system instead of the creepers behind it.

I’ve been playing MMOs wrong for months now… But seriously, can you really say this when there is cloth armor in the game? You can cover yourself head-to-toe with linen or leather and it’s not going to protect you from fire or giant greatswords.

Ok, so if this popularity is indeed based on servers you don’t really have a right to say “this is the most popular”. We can disagree with each other all we like, but there is no feasible way to prove which armor is the most popular. I understand this is a pedantic argument to make but you are saying that the item’s popularity shows people interest in skimpy armor. It’s not really right to speak for other people or provide baseless statements as facts.

Even if you were able prove it and it were true, popularity doesn’t always a means of results. Video games are meant to please the public but we need to consider the time and effort it takes to produce armor. With the Orr female exotic armor being censored after beta, I have a feeling that there are some things they can’t do with armor.

At the current state of WvW, no, I wouldn’t pay a subscription fee for this game. If this was launch, however many months ago, blissfully unaware of all the flaws, I would have.

No, Tera crumbled because it couldn’t offer enjoyable, lasting content for $15 a month (let’s not mention that it’s a HUGE grindfest with terrible quest/story/gear mechanics). Gamers are willing to pay the price if you entertain then while giving them what they want, this has been proven by other games.

It’s not really what’s popular so much as it is what people complain about the most. People complained about glamour mesmers and confusion, though, you were not likely to find someone traited for it as often as you would find a glass cannon.
