Actually it’s one and only oceanic prime commander, he’s done this tactic since his start. That pretty much explains the predictability.

Better than just using our forces to just take supply camps imo.

Every mesmer has confusion so….

it’s a matter of whether they’re geared for condition damage or not. Even if they aren’t, they can still drop stacks on you that damage.

I just want an auto loot if I’m defeated and a bag drops. Nothing more annoying than that.

Took a night off from defending Mag BL last night and went to Yak’s for a small vacation. Lots of hostiles there for some reason, I don’t think I’d recommend it as a prime spot.

Dunno why I always run into <5 people trying to build open field siege. Yak’s and CD must love donating exp to me.

Either way despite the trolls this week has been fun, even as an oceanic prime player. Got in some good Garrison farming, loots, badges, and even made a few friends. Wish I could have participated in at least one fight club though, that’s my only regret. :’(

Currently, this is a major problem all servers need to overcome and deal with. But complaining about a boring conversation, just adds to more boring complaining (weird how that works). Why don’t you try starting up something else to talk about? These threads are an open discussion; you’re free to say what you want. But offering no contribution other than to tell people to stop participating in the current discussion is pointless. I know, I’ve tried.

If you are referring to me, who said I hate Maguuma? The fairest Hackuuna and I share the same opinion of this server. People sit in towers going “Omg, 60 man zergs..”, while both of us (and AoN by proxy) sit there thinking it is a lot of bags…. I <3 DE|RP, the true work horses of Maguuma… I just care very little for the other false posturing that goes on, and there aren’t people with the kind of ethic to make something like BT and AoN work besides perhaps Tsazari and Rebel.

Have you ever played during oceanic prime with the Maguuma Aussie commander? We are constantly fighting in the open field as well as towers and he treats all invaders as walking loot bags as well as plowing face first into said 60 man zergs. And since it’s oceanic prime, it goes without saying that we are almost always outnumbered yet we farm everyone that we can before we lose the tower/keep. Saying that perhaps only two people on the entire server exist that could do that is an incredibly sweeping generalization. Maguuma players are generally laid back and not that big of try-hards to do something continually like zerg busting or raid times. So yes, it’s a matter of work ethic, but also interest.

Quite a bit. And there’s no reason without proper training the Bony O’Clock crew couldn’t punck NNK in the face so to speak. But I also understand that discipline and getting everyone on mumble is a natural barrier. And I’m not so much a leader as I am a ’soldier" with some bit of knowledge of how to counter zergs. My figuring is that Bony feels underequipped during those hours.

The difference in responsibilities between a commander and a zerg busting group vary greatly, imo. Groups like AoN have the luxury of not worrying about contested towers/keeps, checking upgrades, walking yaks, if people on mumble are scouting the BL, prepping siege, or manning them. All these responsibilities are split between the oceanic crew which is ~20 people on mumble. NNK is able to consistently queue and outman us in our own BL, making our resources limited. You can take 5-10 people to go and attempt to wipe their zerg. But we have proven this a long and tedious process because NNK and their groups will focus on the gate they’re attacking and not fall for our attempts to draw them out. The problem is now our forces are halved and there are just a few people on siege trying to defend a gate from 40+ players auto attacking it and 4 pieces of enemy siege.

Right, well, all the same, you seem to be very persistent in getting the ‘answer’.

A real, accruate answer from the source is better than NA guessing or you completely misunderstanding it and going on about us “dissing” them. Someone asks an honest question and it just turns into chest thumping and DB being defensive, and it’s not even from the people being asked.

As someone who is on the maguuman night crew- getting dropped down to 25 ppt and dealing with a force that is literally 10 times your size (actually probaly higher)is not really fun…. I love playing during the day and commanding and finding good fights with YB and DB, but once NNK wakes up it’s impossible to hold anything or take anything
Maybe I am a fairweather player, but I refuse to play during those hours, it just isn’t fun :C

Welcome to T3. We left T4 because it was boring. Every single person on Maguuma who’s fought DB before knew what they were up against when we made a big effort push to get into this tier.

I may be from ‘other servers’ – but I was on Dragonbrand for some time. I am not ‘answering for them’ as an outsider – I am answering because I’ve seen them.

I know for a fact some of them speak and write English, and I know you were on DB. You completely missed the point of the questions and took them as “we are dissing the oceanic presence of DB” and proceeded to answer it as such. That was not the case.

Playing WvW is not quite the same as commanding it. Perhaps you should try running small groups with your icon off before tackling the big fish.

The only reason you’re stating anything is because you’re losing. You have never brought up these points in previous match ups whether you defeated DB or lost.

Is WvW more of a PvE activity for DB SEA players?

When mag hits 400-500 ppt in unbalanced matches, we actually lose players because it is very boring and usually pvd.

How do you keep interest in logging in every night to wipe the maps and then log off? Is it strictly for karma/xp? You guys have been at it for many, many months now.

The question is how is it fun to do this for months. You have the option of switching to the unofficial oceanic servers or going to EU servers that can offer opponents who are for the majority, not asleep. Lots of the Maguuma players asking this do not enjoy PvDoor and cannot understand that there are people who do.

Either way it’s no one’s fault for playing within their time zone on a server.

NA DB has been doing more defense this week, and I for one applaud them for that because that’s something they always lacked, it’s about time. But now we get to see all the DB chest thumpers and trolls as the ride their oceanic’ coat tails. Mag threads are the best!

I don’t think it’s that strange that people enjoy logging into a game each morning where they get to win for 4 to 6 hours.

Pretty much this. Just like how some people cannot find a challenge or fun in PvE, the same goes for WvW and PvDoor. We know from CD that winning is all that matters and that is some people’s form of enjoyment. In this day and age, and with the typical current gamer community, I don’t think that’s so rare.

It’s like people who roll thieves just because they know it’s an easy, low risk, favored class in PvP. Nothing wrong with it, just a different form of fun.

It’s a simple matter of knowing stealth, terrain, and hit boxes. Legendary guards cannot see players in stealth. The player uses that to pass the guards, then simply has to drop an ethereal, light, or poison field to get inside.

ANet found a way to force PvErs to get their kitten in a different part of the game. This is something developers have done since the dawn of time. If you want to do something, but you think a part of it is not fun, then don’t do it or suck it up. No one is forcing you to do anything. You don’t have to do anything. You are literally grinding for a star, title, legendary or your own enjoyment. If the case is the latter, you can stop at any point. I know this is a straw man argument “well if you don’t like it, don’t do it” but the point of the completion is to explore and get you in WvW and simply for you to try it. Whether or not you like it does not effect the reason for it being implemented in the first place.

There’s only one in Eternal. You just proved my point though, it’s hard to KEEP a WP, not getting them, which is something DB need to do a lot better. Let’s see if you can keep a WP later, and you’ll realize how hard it is having little numbers to defend.

East coast of NA is still asleep or just waking up for work/school when the NNK train begins boarding at the station. It is still considered “night” here since this is not a prime time to play video games unless you’re an insomniac or some weird graveyard shift worker.

Currently, it’s a quarter past 6pm here, 6am/3am in the US. Our Asians mostly start at 8pm our time, which would be 8am/5am, and lasting a couple of hours.

If my memory is still correct, 8am/5am is what people call “morning”.

Another thing, getting keeps upgraded and WP’d is easy. KEEPING them is hard. Plus, you don’t get to keep them “all day”.

Night, morning, doesn’t matter. Whenever you cap outside of prime, you’ll be called mean names. We and DB are accustomed to not keeping the things they WP, DB especially because their main force is only on for a few hours.
